A singular failing that I have spent a lifetime trying to overcome…but only now have I grown to understand what peace there is which comes from abiding in trusting His watch and not mine. Hard, but I am working on it.
It helps to review my life and to see clearly where He has been during times which show He has not been idle…never idle…but preparing. As for keeping my mouth shut…like you, there are days when doing so just might be my greatest accomplishment 😂 Sisters in Christ I think is what we are. But the above was so powerful for me, and I know there are untold numbers of souls who are waiting for answers who would find comfort in those words, as I did. They are now truly tattooed in my heart and my patience level just got a much needed boost. Always a work in progress 😊💕

As for complaining or worrying, I understand this completely. Whenever I feel myself beginning to lapse, I always stop myself by saying under my breath a quiet thank you to God above for all His blessings and remembering the tribulations of others, which leads me to prayers for them. A “Closer Walk with Thee”.
Give thanks to God for all things, even those situations which exercise our patience and sometimes even faith. I know you understand, dear friend. We all fall short, such is our weakness as human beings. Try, try again we must… and do. Borrowing from my Book of Common Prayer…” knowing You are doing better things for us than we can hope or pray for”.
And in accepting this, our “work in progress” should be easier…should be. Which perhaps is what we must be grateful for the most, that over and over His unfathomable patience and love for us are endless and never failing.
(If you hadn’t already surmised, I am speaking to myself probably more than responding to you, dear sister 😘🙏🏻 Love you so much….)

My Vet gave puppy behavior classes to teach your dog commands. They always got to play after class with all the other dogs. My dogs drag me into the Vet when we have to go there now when we go as they are so exited to go to the Vet. If your vet has puppy classes, I recommend using them.
Oh well done your vet, Jake. Reminds me of those doggy day care enterprises. Sweet 💕

When our precious Sweeney had some extensive cancer surgery done, the vet office called and darn near begged us to come pick him up early, because “his recovery was too much for them to handle!”
We raced to the office where they none too ceremoniously dumped him on us – crying, shaking, unable to use his hind legs. We somehow carried that 130 pound sweet boy to the car and into the house, I spent the next 24 hours holding him and sleeping with him on
the floor.
The next morning I called the vet to explain why we would not be back, and why she might want to look into retraining for a profession more suited to her lack of sympathy/empathy. Still miss that wonderful boy. ❤️
I suppose her response was cold, girl, if she had one at all. Beautiful boy….he deserved so much better than that. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr💔

One hand driving, no seat belts, it’s more than just bench seats today, you would be pulled over in a minute. Don’t forget the ever present center console. My last truck a 2005 had a bench seat, and a huge center console. You could put it up, but then it was uncomfortable for anyone but a kid to set there.
Of course the dog got the other front seat unless the wife was with. Then he reluctantly got in the back seat after being told and pouted the whole time.
This one I keep his crate in the back seat, the front seat against it and he has ridden there since I brought him home as a puppy. That is much safer for the dog in case of a fast stop or accident. My last one when flying under the dash more than once in a hard stop.
Different times all right, Jake. I’ll grant you that. Some progress has its advantages.

Cyclists live in a world of their own, my friend, which motorists are expected to accommodate. In Wales they are awful. And only by the exceeding grace of God I came very close to wiping a group out as I rounded a blind curve at speed. Fortunately and unusually on this two lane road there was nothing coming which would have been a massive accident with fatalities. I was able to somehow avoid them by ooching into the other lane.
Don’t get me started on $%#@#$ cyclists, the road’s virtue signallers. Grrrrrrr!!!

I lost my last indoor cat Monday morning. Rapid onset heart failure, like her two sisters that died in the last year. It’s been 41 years since I’ve been in a house with no cats. I miss the purring on the bed near me.
I don’t plan to get another cat. It would probably outlive me, given the weird health issues I’ve had lately (literally almost dropped dead at work about 3 1/2 weeks ago, by the time they got the paramedics there I was pulling out of it, and the hospital found nothing wrong – ekg, echocardiogram, carotid ultrasound, bloodwork, peework all normal).
I am not vaxxed, refuse to have any more vaccines.
It really makes you think about the future.

Mornin’ dear Bet. Loved the Fernando Sor. Segovia did a book of brief etudes which were some of the first classical pieces I learned. They were great practice pieces and were a staple for beginning classical guitarists. I learned a lot while playing them. The same can be said for most of Sor’s music. He actually composed quite a lot. This choice that you put up is very, very musical. So, thanks for posting. I kinda thought if I checked in that I’d find your kind words here. I love you, dear woman! This gentle adoption into family just speaks of our faith and God’s Generosity and Mercy. What “church” is supposed to be like. Caturday is EVERY day for us. Now, off to make a Pear Pancake. I’ll drop the recipe as it’s an awesome little gift and beautiful for a special occasion. For us, the only “occasion” is to quickly use four ripened pears before they spoil. Oh noooooo… we “must” have a delicious brunch! Twist. My. Arm.
PEAR PANCAKE
2/3 cup flour
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/4 teaspoon salt
2/3 cup plain yogurt
3 tablespoons melted butter – divided (1 tablespoon in batter – and 2 tablespoons in bottom of casserole dish or pie pan)
2 eggs
2 teaspoons lemon juice
2 cans of canned pears (drained) or 4 fresh pairs sliced or chopped
Coat an approximately 8 inch diameter casserole dish or pie pan with the melted butter. Arrange the pears on the bottom of the dish and sprinkle with the lemon juice. Bake in a 400 degree oven until the pears are softened.
Combine the other ingredients here and mix them into a batter. Pour the batter over the cooked pears and return to the oven for 25 minutes or until brown. Serve warm – though the leftovers are delicious cold too.
You can garnish with whipping cream if you like and mint leaves for a more formal presentation.
Swap out pears for blackberries, raspberries, blueberries or peaches – fresh, canned, or frozen.
Soooo good.
To be REALLY over the top – for a nice HOLIDAY – serve with these pretty and easy peezy bacon-wrapped eggs.
Partially fry up bacon in a sauce pan until it’s halfway done – translucent.
Take a muffin tin. Line the cup with one slice of bacon forming a hollow center. Drop an egg into the center and sprinkle with fresh ground black pepper. Repeat for each of the remaining muffin cups. Place in 400 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes.
Serve warm – but are also really good cold as leftovers the next day! Thanks to my Momma.

When they used to ask for your zip code for mailing advertisements my answer was always 666. That brought some looks. Proton mail gives you a couple of alias to put down when you don’t want to use your regular email. The only problem is some sites won’t accept them but they are usually ones you use your real email on anyway. They are also in Switzerland which has the best privacy laws in the world. Also Mailfence is a good one, but they are so strict they have blocked some emails from people I want them from. Stay as far away from Yahoo and Google as possible.

I for one would not like to be out on tour for years at a time living out of hotels.
I have a hard enough time doing 3 gigs a week locally(karaoke), it’s tiresome (4hr+/show & 1.5hrs setup/teardown) & with an adrenaline hangover.. can’t imagine if drinking was thrown into the mix as well to sleep or drugs to do so.
It would be easy to fall into the vices that flow so freely when you are making the kinda money they do from touring, esp when you are young.

Isaias is now a hurricane and is strengthening as forecast. But NHC not showing it becoming a Major hurricane.
Hope the storm track shifts east just a bit more because right now Mobile bay is in the cross hairs. I do suspect that once it comes ashore the track will shift further east than shown and the remnants will eventually go back out to see via the eastern seaboard.
If it isn’t an enormous Cat 5 the press isn’t interested. And the Pacific doen’t count as far as the cliate change crowd is concerned.

O stupid Galatians! Who has bewitched you, before whose eyes Jesus Christ was publicly portrayed as crucified? I want to learn only this from you: did you receive the Spirit from works of the law, or from faith in what you heard? Are you so stupid? After beginning with the Spirit, are you now ending with the flesh? Did you experience so many things in vain?–if indeed it was in vain. Does, then, the one who supplies the Spirit to you and works mighty deeds among you do so from works of the law or from faith in what you heard?

Did you receive the Spirit from works of the law? (Galatians 3:2)
The news coming out of the church in Galatia was grim. So grim, in fact, that St. Paul felt the need to send a scorching letter to the believers there. He told them how “amazed” he was that they were “so quickly forsaking” the Lord and following “a different gospel” (Galatians 1:6). And what was this gospel? That gentile Christians were obligated to accept Jewish circumcision and to obey all the commands of the Law of Moses. In other words, they started to believe that baptism into Christ wasn’t sufficient. They had to complete their salvation by living like Jews.
For Paul, it was unthinkable that gentile Christians should have to follow the Law to be justified in Christ. He knew that Jesus had come to fulfill the Law by pouring out his Spirit. And with his own eyes, he saw the Spirit work “mighty deeds” among the Galatians (3:5). He saw them break free from sin. He saw miraculous healings, relationships restored, and hearts transformed. What more did they need?
What more do you need? You—along with every other baptized Christian—have received “so many things” from the hand of a loving, merciful God (Galatians 3:4). You have been baptized into Christ, just as the Galatians were. You have been filled with the Holy Spirit, just as they were. Like them, you have received the gift of a relationship with almighty God.
The question before each of us today is, “Am I experiencing the blessings of my inheritance in Christ?” God has poured so much grace into our lives, and he is eager to see us lay hold of it. As Paul makes clear, we don’t have to keep kosher or observe other traditions in order to receive it. What we do have to do is turn from sin, believe in the gospel, and hold fast to the promise that Jesus is with us and wants to help us.
So turn to the Lord today in prayer, and ask him to show you how close he is. Let him prove that it is enough that you love him, that you trust him, and that you want to follow him. Lean into his love so that the Spirit can do his own “mighty deeds” in your midst.

COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 25
Confidence in prayer. (1-7) Prayer for remission of sins. (8-14) For help in affliction. (15-22)
1-7 In worshipping God, we must lift up our souls to him. It is certain that none who, by a believing attendance, wait on God, and, by a believing hope, wait for him, shall be ashamed of it. The most advanced believer both needs and desires to be taught of God. If we sincerely desire to know our duty, with resolution to do it, we may be sure that God will direct us in it. The psalmist is earnest for the pardon of his sins. When God pardons sin, he is said to remember it no more, which denotes full remission. It is God’s goodness, and not ours, his mercy, and not our merit, that must be our plea for the pardon of sin, and all the good we need. This plea we must rely upon, feeling our own unworthiness, and satisfied of the riches of God’s mercy and grace. How boundless is that mercy which covers for ever the sins and follies of a youth spent without God and without hope! Blessed be the Lord, the blood of the great Sacrifice can wash away every stain.
8-14 We are all sinners; and Christ came into the world to save sinners, to teach sinners, to call sinners to repentance. We value a promise by the character of him that makes it; we therefore depend upon God’s promises. All the paths of the Lord, that is, all his promises and all his providences, are mercy and truth. In all God’s dealings his people may see his mercy displayed, and his word fulfilled, whatever afflictions they are now exercised with. All the paths of the Lord are mercy and truth; and so it will appear when they come to their journey’s end. Those that are humble, that distrust themselves, and desire to be taught and to follow Divine guidance, these he will guide in judgment, that is, by the rule of the written word, to find rest for their souls in the Saviour. Even when the body is sick, and in pain, the soul may be at ease in God.
15-22 The psalmist concludes, as he began, with expressing dependence upon God, and desire toward him. It is good thus to hope, and quietly to wait for the salvation of the Lord. And if God turns to us, no matter who turns from us. He pleads his own integrity. Though guilty before God, yet, as to his enemies, he had the testimony of conscience that he had done them no wrong. God would, at length, give Israel rest from all their enemies round about. In heaven, God’s Israel will be perfectly redeemed from all troubles. Blessed Saviour, thou hast graciously taught us that without thee we can do nothing. Do thou teach us how to pray, how to appear before thee in the way which thou shalt choose, and how to lift up our whole hearts and desires after thee, for thou art the Lord our righteousness.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
