You are well aware that Dan does not believe or participate in the Catholic traditions.
So in the past when you posted the Catholic prayers to his Protestant messages, it always caused ill feelings.
I assume this website is still open for people to express their personal views/opinions/comments within the guidelines.

I’m reminded of the wonderful advice in the novel, To Kill a Mockingbird, which Atticus Finch gave his daughter:

Hermann, Missouri
This town in Gasconade County in Missouri was founded in 1837 along the Missouri River by German settlers. It is the heart and soul of Missouri’s wine country.

One of the town’s famous residents was a former professional baseball player, Joe Hoerner. He was a native of Dubuque, Iowa, which is on the Mississippi River. Hoerner was a great-grandson of German settlers in Dubuque County, Iowa. He died on October 4, 1996 in a farming accident at Hermann, Missouri.
Hoerner’s family lived at Key West, Iowa (directly south of Dubuque) where the Centennial Cross (137 feet tall today) was first built in 1937, when Hoerner was a year old.

I know Sundance is quite fond of RUSH. From a few nights ago, this is LIVE material. I’m okay with the little girl, but it’s not Neil Peart.
It will never be too early. It still hurts. I just want Neil back.
Neil Peart can not be replaced and Anika Nilles has said as much. Still, she does a respectable job performing the complicated drum parts. She is being faithful to the music.
Geddy and Alex appear to be enjoying this time playing live. I think that’s the best part. Loren Gold has been a great addition to play the keyboards in order to give Geddy a break.
She does an outstanding job of handling the material. It’s notes to play and she plays them. The power is just not there.
I think she’s fantastic. Her role would be to branch forward away from RUSH. She has a different message to convey. I just don’t like it for RUSH.
All of that copy-cat student material does not belong in this genre of music.
A similar situation happened with The Who after Keith Moon died. Moon was irreplaceable. Kenny Jones and Simon Philips tried but the difference was noticeable. Zak Starkey was the closest in style and technique to Moon and they hung on to him until that day Roger missed the beats and blamed his mistake on Starkey. Starkey was fired and Scott Devours came in for the scheduled tour. Devours is completely different and it showed.
Ironically, Starkey is back with The Who rehearsing for a possible European tour.
But yes, when you lose an integral part of your band it will never be the same. Age takes its toll as well. Geddy Lee cannot hit the high notes like he used to. Fans appreciate the effort nonetheless.
I know crowds keep showing up to hear all the old favorites. But is that music anymore?
But it is worse when the singer can’t do it anymore. Moody Blues music relied on great singing and just didn’t survive the singer aging.
It is funny that groups that could never sing don’t have that problem. Jagger never could sing and as his voice ages, he still doesn’t have to sing. The songs still sound the same.
Elton took a third path. As his voice fails to do his songs, he rearranges the songs to fit his voice. But tries to satisfy his followers, giving them lots of aspects of the past to hold on to.
All three still rake in big cash. Guess crowds want something different than recordings from the past. And they are willing to put up with a lot to get what they want.
I consider it music. It’s real. Not the fake stuff that Taylor Swift puts out.
It gives us older folks one more chance to see and hear the legends. Most are close to 80 or already past that.
The one exception might be Ringo Starr. That guy seems to not age. He is doing quite well.
One just for old times sake. Vanilla Fudge from earlier this year.
Love how that was changed up. Not a replay of the record. A unique performance for their fans.
I tried to convince my daughter once that a Brittney Spears performance she was watching was lipsynced. It was changed up too. But acrobats have to breathe and nothing showed up in her voice.

But at harvest time, the tenants refuse to give him the produce. The first servants he sends to collect the crops are beaten and killed. A second wave of servants are treated the same way. And finally, when the landowner sends his son, the tenants kill him in an attempt to seize the vineyard for themselves! What more could he have done?
The landowner’s actions certainly don’t seem like the best way to run a business. But they do help us understand the loving perseverance of our heavenly Father. He holds nothing back in his attempts to bring his people back to himself. His love is relentless!
We can see this relentless love again in today’s first reading. Speaking through the prophet Isaiah, God depicts Israel as a “vineyard” (5:7). He speaks about tenderly cultivating and preparing the land so that his people could produce a bountiful “crop” of righteousness (5:2). And when they produced only “wild grapes,” he sent Isaiah to call them back to him. Then, over time, he sent Jeremiah and Ezekiel and more and more prophets to speak his word to them. No matter what happened, the Lord never gave up on them.
God never gives up on us, either. He cares for us even when we ignore him, even when we reject him, even when we are not fruitful. He is always extending mercy to us and giving us another chance. So welcome him in today. Let his love sweep you off your feet. Let it inspire you to respond with faith and trust to his invitation to return.
“Lord, help me to love you and bear fruit for you and your kingdom.”

COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 118
t is good to trust in the Lord. (1-18) The coming of Christ in his kingdom. (19-29)
1-18 The account the psalmist here gives of his troubles is very applicable to Christ: many hated him without a cause; nay, the Lord himself chastened him sorely, bruised him, and put him to grief, that by his stripes we might be healed. God is sometimes the strength of his people, when he is not their song; they have spiritual supports, though they want spiritual delights. Whether the believer traces back his comfort to the everlasting goodness and mercy of God, or whether he looks forward to the blessing secured to him, he will find abundant cause for joy and praise. Every answer to our prayers is an evidence that the Lord is on our side; and then we need not fear what man can do unto us; we should conscientiously do our duty to all, and trust in him alone to accept and bless us. Let us seek to live to declare the works of God, and to encourage others to serve him and trust in him. Such were the triumphs of the Son of David, in the assurance that the good pleasure of the Lord should prosper in his hand.
19-29 Those who saw Christ’s day at so great a distance, saw cause to praise God for the prospect. The prophecy, ver. 22,23|, may refer to David’s preferment; but principally to Christ. 1. His humiliation; he is the Stone which the builders refused: they would go on in their building without him. This proved the ruin of those who thus made light of him. Rejecters of Christ are rejected of God. 2. His exaltation; he is the chief Cornerstone in the foundation. He is the chief Top-stone, in whom the building is completed, who must, in all things, have the pre-eminence. Christ’s name is Wonderful; and the redemption he wrought out is the most amazing of all God’s wondrous works. We will rejoice and be glad in the Lord’s day; not only that such a day is appointed, but in the occasion of it, Christ’s becoming the Head. Sabbath days ought to be rejoicing days, then they are to us as the days of heaven. Let this Saviour be my Saviour, my Ruler. Let my soul prosper and be in health, in that peace and righteousness which his government brings. Let me have victory over the lusts that war against my soul; and let Divine grace subdue my heart. The duty which the Lord has made, brings light with it, true light. The duty this privilege calls for, is here set forth; the sacrifices we are to offer to God in gratitude for redeeming love, are ourselves; not to be slain upon the altar, but living sacrifices, to be bound to the altar; spiritual sacrifices of prayer and praise, in which our hearts must be engaged. The psalmist praises God, and calls upon all about him to give thanks to God for the glad tidings of great joy to all people, that there is a Redeemer, even Christ the Lord. In him the covenant of grace is made sure and everlasting.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
