MISSIONARY PREDESTINATIONS
“And now, saith the Lord, that formed me from the womb to be His servant.” Isaiah 49:5
The first thing that happens after we have realized our election to God in Christ Jesus is the destruction of our prejudices and our parochial notions and our patriotisms; we are turned into servants of God’s own purpose. The whole human race was created to glorify God and enjoy Him for ever. Sin has switched the human race on to another tack, but it has not altered God’s purpose in the tiniest degree; and when we are born again we are brought into the realization of God’s great purpose for the human race, viz., I am created for God, He made me. This realization of the election of God is the most joyful realization on earth, and we have to learn to rely on the tremendous creative purpose of God. The first thing God will do with us is to “force through the channels of a single heart” the interests of the whole world. The love of God, the very nature of God, is introduced into us, and the nature of Almighty God is focused in John 3:16 – “God so loved the world. . .”
We have to maintain our soul open to the fact of God’s creative purpose, and not muddle it with our own intentions. If we do, God will have to crush our intentions on one side however much it may hurt. The purpose for which the missionary is created is that he may be God’s servant, one in whom God is glorified. When once we realize that through the salvation of Jesus Christ we are made perfectly fit for God, we shall understand why Jesus Christ is so ruthless in His demands. He demands absolute rectitude from His servants, because He has put into them the very nature of God.
Beware lest you forget God’s purpose for your life.”

Many are saying “Trump coulda or shoulda” or “If Trump woulda” comments. What spare energy or priorities did you see him wasting at any point in this presidential term? Who do you want as president instead of Donald Trump? Are you supporting the MAGA/constitutional platform or tearing it down? Or weakening it by criticizing and undermining the president?
Every conservative person giving negative comments toward Donald Trump needs to do a quick and thorough self assessment of their own character, their own work ethic, their own commitment to this country and to this president. Our government is a constitutional republic. We the People have the power. We are not using it. I daresay none of us are using our power and resources for the sake of this country like Donald Trump is.
The signers of the Declaration pledged their lives, their fortunes, and their sacred honor for this country. Which one of us here wants to step forward and show a greater commitment to this country by those measures — than Donald J Trump?
I still say our president fights harder and more consistently and tirelessly against 10 times more resistance than any other president. — to a miraculous degree.

Wells Fargo pulled this crap on me. I bought a vehicle and always paid extra every payment to avoid a lot of interest. One day I got an overdue payment notice from Wells Fargo. I called and asked how that could be, and they said don’t worry we put the money from an over payment in an account and when it reaches the payment amount we put it down as a late payment. I said no, when I make an over payment that amount goes against the principle reducing my total interest. Not only are you screwing my by doing that you are collecting interest on my money. I had the loan at my credit union later that day and I will never do business with Wells Fargo again. We know about their other frauds, why aren’t any of their executive in prison?

Home Heating oil up here is a crisis right now that is so bad it’s all over the media, it’s at $5.65 a gallon right now and we’re about to need to turn on the heat the next 5 months. I’ve never seen oil hit this high this early in the season.
I get what is happening and I support this Iran battle but no one has $8,000 and $9,000 to heat their homes this winter, and in addition to buying gas.
It is truly a crisis for many.. AND NO I’m not a Doomer, I need to buy 1200 gallons of oil and look at this price.
This is the reality we’re in and trying to deal with -or figure out I should say.

I’ve changed gears and made a plan to buy a lot more Cordwood but get this: So has everyone else !!
So cordwood is now running very high because of two issues: demand of course, but then it’s entirely a fuel related product, so that has the prices up too.
My cordwood fella also told me that we’ve got loggers going out of business over this and that is adding to the supply issues.
Logging equipment can add up to a million+ dollars and the loggers carry huge debt they carry for long terms, so if they didn’t have a plan to deal with these market conditions, they are going under.
My cordwood guys are two old geezers and their ancient equipment was paid for in full decades ago, so they can ride it out, but the young ones- which logging is a young man’s job- they are not doing very well right now he told me, we’ve lost two logging companies locally.
You are right in that there has never been a good point this summer to fill up.
Normally we do around late July or August, but these conditions were already brewing at that time and as you know, our President has repeatedly given us hope this situation in Iran would be winding down any day now, so we hung on hoping for prices to decline and it’s not happened- now they are exploding as we sit on the edge of heating season.
We’ve just tuned up the generator and gotten the boiler cleaned with the idea of efficiency as well.
I just put word out local that I have about 100x 12ftx3ft dead oak logs down and aged just enough, looking for someone who wants to finish cutting, splitting and deliver them. I am not set up to heat with wood; have a fire place but it is not properly ported, so it just sucks cold air into the house.
I always wanted to put in one of those outdoor boilers, but that is a big investment, and I dont have equipment to handle 12 ton logs.

How about putting wood stove into that fireplace- that isn’t such a big deal, I’ve done this myself in my old fireplaces.
You can often get a decent deal on a good used wood stove because many people are getting rid of them and changing to wood pellets- in a situation like you have where this would be your back-up heat source, that would be perfectly fine, if you stack up this wood, you’ll be all set. If you sell some of it off that may help towards offsetting the expense of the wood stove and hook up. Also, I happen to think that many old wood stoves are better than new ones anyway, so keep an eye on FB Marketplace for a nice hardly used older model, they are out there.
Efficiency is extremely important now more than ever. We have our ten year old cooling/heating unit serviced/inspected twice a year and it has made a big difference in it’s performance over the years.
The window film makes a huge difference. I buy the cheap 102″W (folded) roll from amazon every 5 years to replace it, leave it up year round. We have lots of big old windows.

Yes most people still using heating oil or LPS gas have to sign a contract around here at a locked in price or you will get hosed once winter comes. If you are in more developed area around here you have natural gas.
It’s almost $6.00 a gallon in the PNW for the low octane.
I don’t use heating oil here in the south. Our heating unit is natural gas and we have gas logs in case of a power outage. Water heater is gas, too. I could convert the fireplace to wood burning if I had to but haven’t had to in 30 years. Those gas logs heat pretty well. Natural gas is still fairly reasonable here in SC so I feel for you northern brethren faced with these high heating oil prices. And I imagine that a cord of wood is getting pretty pricey, too for those of you with fireplaces. Brace yourselves for winter and pray for a mild one.

Earlier this year Porche itself closed down three of its subsidiaries.. so their total job losses are piling up as well.

Access to the White House Press Pool can be limited or revoked for any number of different reasons, for sure, but it can’t be revoked as punishment for unfavorable coverage.
That is a hardcore fundamental violation of the First Amendment. Government does not get to punish speech (with a few very notable exceptions).
This Administration already tried this with the AP and lost.
I think people are underestimating the amount of oxygen these network give him. Pulling the plug essentially cuts off his air to most of the country – the independent news channels are all niche. Most boomers still watch Fox News.
Except, he didn’t “lose” with the AP. The ruling was more specific. Some areas he can ban from, some he cannot. The East wing, he cannot. The oval office and AF1, he can, etc.
Also, the biased airtime they give him, probably is worse for all of us than them not talking about him or what he said at all. It will have people tuning out. They don’t get much other than words “the President said x,y,z”. Great, click – boring.
I would argue not covering him handicaps their propaganda approach quite severely.

As President Trump decides how to end the Iran War, it is perhaps good to reflect what this war could be about. I would submit it is about which is prior, which came first, religion or law.
Can a religion, in this case Islam, present that it requires special law, Sharia, outside the ordinary law? And that a society, Iran, must bend to abide by this special law? In the instance of an individual, can a person say that he has adopted a religion, therefore the law that applies to him must conform to his newfound beliefs?
No. Because law predates religion. Because law is prior to religion, religion must therefore conform to law. The source for this is the historian Herodotus. In his History, he describes how individuals, in the vicinity of what is Iran today, would seek the counsel of a respected neighbor to settle their disputes. This neighbor would receive gifts for his services, such as horses. He eventually hired assistants, bailiffs and so on, and formalized his court. These judges became the earliest kings. The Royal Court was at first a court of law.
Accepting that law is prior to religion, law has nevertheless changed with the centuries. Today, society sees women as equal to men under the law. In a modern society, can a sect that believes men can buy and sell women and children, like cattle, claim legitimacy? Can a sect that claims men can beat their women, confine them at home, require them to be covered in public, and execute them if they fail to comply, exist outside of the ordinary law most other countries observe and claim the same privileges other nations in the international community enjoy? I think this barbarism has met its end.
I do not think President Trump can let 90 million people in Iran starve, nor the entire Middle East descend into chaos. At the same time, a return to the status quo ante is not possible. This war would have happened, now or later, because denial of human rights, cognizant by law, has created a friction in Iran and in its proxies. The situation cannot go on, and so it will not.
Do we gainsay that President Trump is the Prime Mover in this situation? Surely not. He is a steady man for the times.
