With energy prices high and effecting everyone globally, why couldn’t this be an opportunity to end opec and establish a country by country partnership on oil prices set by the place it originates from
If you owned 4thamendmentrestored Oil and Gas production company all by yourself and could produce, say, 100 million barrels of crude a year. Would you take a fixed price contract for all of that production? There are pros and cons to doing so. What if your fixed price ends up being well below what you could get at a market rate? The opposite of course could be true. That is why most producers have a mix of fixed price offtake agreements and also sell at market rates.
Producers do not owe consumers anything. They are in business to maximize their profits. That’s capitalism. And no, prices are not “rigged”. Too much money to be made or lost taking the other side of any oil trade. OPEC used to have a monopoly, but not anymore. The USA is now the largest producer.
If the price is artificially inflated, then your company would plop a couple more rigs into the ground and produce an extra few barrels. That additional supply would bring down prices (when everyone else does the same).

It seems you have problems with reading as it is BRICS members working against IRAN.
It is not the producers nor people who refine the fuel setting the price.
It is primarily the Hedge Fund and Financial Masters supported Speculators setting prices the middlemen in the fuel supply have to pay … in order to have fuel to refine. they are supported by Nation-State and US State Government Actors who pass Green New Deal Regulations as well as media pundits who create the headlines.
OPEC and other Raw Material Suppliers can fix prices until their hearts content but it is the Big Whale Money folks setting the prices via speculation.
