We here in the state of Delaware had our primary yesterday. Check the stats this morning, embarrassing, 21% turnout.
My husband is comical. Our voting location had flyers on the sign in table with the candidates’ names on them. One for democrats and one for republicans. When my husband was signing in, he was asked to confirm his party affiliation. When he agreed Republican a lady to his left and who we do not know said to him -well I still like you, but the way she said it sounded condescending. My husband picked up the democrat flyer and as he held it out to her said -here is the list of the democrat crime family-. I was already on my way to the booth chuckling, so I did not get to see her expression.
Are there not laws against such things…🤔

We always have a flyer for each party on the sign in table. It’s just a list of the names to who is on the ballot for your district. I never thought it nefarious just informational. We have closed primaries so it’s not like the flyer will convince anyone to crossover and change their vote.
I just pray that the small turnout the democrats experienced is a sign that even levelheaded democrats are tiring of the crazy. Troubling that the DSA candidates took out some incumbents in district races.

An AI watchdog should be another AI with an aggressive bite, not people. unfortunately there is no getting around AI’s fighting against each other in the future. Our Government needs a military AI that prevents rogue actors from unleashing their own attack dogs on the US.
On a lighter note, the AI generated video of the coach slapping a reporter with a player laughing at it, has caused some weird uproar. Everybody is jumping on the player for laughing at a video that clearly shows an “AI generated” label. How is this any different than cartoons or movie scenes, songs, or even written words that people laugh at?
It’s telling that society now goes after someone who reacts to comedy, disgusting art, violent movies, or how about historic statues, rather than the creator. I want to know what company developed the AI and what AI created this video. Where are we as a society that after all of mankind’s history of art expression or creative works, that some like and some don’t, we are now focusing on people and how they behave after seeing content, rather than blaming the content?

Djibouti says no disruptions in Bab al-Mandeb Strait –
Djiboutian Foreign Minister Abdoulkader Houssein Omar says that the country has not recorded any disruptions to navigation in the Bab al-Mandeb strait, days after Iran-allied Houthi fighters seized the entirety of Yemen’s Red Sea coastline.
“Djibouti continues to provide the necessary guarantees for the free and safe passage of ships and tankers through the Bab al-Mandeb strait,” Omar told Al Jazeera.
Omar said that the East African nation has received 2,512 Yemeni refugees and estimates that the number could ultimately exceed 10,000.
Djibouti’s Interior Minister Omar Abdi Said called earlier on the international community to urgently mobilise resources to help the country cope with the rising influx of refugees displaced by the fighting in Yemen.
Djibouti has become a Chinese colony. This is very telling of who is supporting the flow at this key choke point.
Fun Fact from someone who has spent way too much time learning Pirate History. Bab-al-Mandeb the place where Henry Avery captured the loaded ship of the Indian Caliphate returning from the Haj which set the East India Company back decades. I like Henry Avery (minus the alleged raping and killing part of his crew which some have argued was a false flag planted by the East India Company to raise a global ire against piracy).
