Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

I’ll play some blues for you
Excellent !! Thank you benzy. Here’s a version of the song by Aerosmith:
Oh yes, annie!
Thanks!
Morning, Garrison 💕☕. . .
So schools are in session again, hard to believe as it seems they just finished. Sharp eyed Treehouse dog lovers will see why this is particularly appropriate for our CURSDAY. It’s one that I love, even though as a grandmother who just sent the third and final of our grands nearest to us off to university, I feel a sharp pang remembering the earliest days of the school run for all three. Yesterday I think it was. Sigh…
And an extra addition, because it was too sweet not to include…💕
I want to grow up to be the person my dog thinks I am …
I’m working on it still….
Thank you for the lovely lively brigade and is there a picture of mom available?
Welcome, Ray 😊☕ She’s probably taking a sneaky nap!!
❤️❤️🤣🥰 🤗
Is this called ‘a romp’ of goldens?
good morning, Miss B., best regards to you and yours.😁
caution: party pooping ahead! 😆
either that litter is so intensely inbred (not recommended!) that they essentially had clones,
or it’s the same puppy AI’d (which it almost certainly is.)
buyer expectations are usually unrealistic as it is.
makes the breeder’s job so much more difficult when trying to explain
they can’t guarantee the buyer will get a puppy that looks EXACTLY
like sire or dam or previous get or siblings or whatever.
it’s a very cute picture…but with real world implications.😂
(p.s.: all my attempts at reconditioning have so far failed –
still can’t look at a unicorn picture without wincing.🤣)
zoom
One of the many things I like best about rescue doggies is the lack of preconceived expectations. It’s like when we were kids and you chose something (blindfolded) from the “grab bag!”
Though I’ve taken in dozens and dozens of animals of all stripes, not one has been a disappointment. Every one still resides in my heart.
Wish I could say the same about the grab bag gifts!
Kari & Kelli ❤️
Morning, dear Corny 💕☕ They are so beautiful. Glossy coats tell me how wonderfully you look after them and love them.
(I’m afraid to ask about your lovely cat who you’ve been nursing through decline. I don’t want to upset…😬💕)
Oh. Sweet Sis
Please never avoid being your own wonderful, caring, empathetic self with me.
I’d be lying if I said things were good.
Its been a couple of weeks of indecision, tears, hopes bashed, and then raised. It makes it hard for me to engage and be “up”, but I am trying.
We had almost reached a decision on Ozzie, when another of our kitties, Pearl, had an emergency. After handling that (she’s doing well, thank God), we came home to Ozzie wanting to eat, purring, even head butting my leg! ?
My sweet Olive is also hanging in, though the expectation was she would not be. I play everything by ear everyday.
Thanks for being wonderful you. ❤️
Pearl
Oh Corny…she is so beautiful, and my heart aches with yours, because we’ve been there so many times. They’re all squeezing every bit of their nine lives out it sounds like. And who could blame them, with you as their loving servant.
You’ll know when the time comes, if they don’t depart on their own. I have a feeling God will tap you on the shoulder. Much love sent your way, my sister 😘🙏🏻
(Pearl has the look of a queen who knows she is 💕)
❤️ 😍 💖 ❣️ 💕 💘 ❤️
You give me such encouragement, Dear Sis. Pearl is a mini Princess! Only weighs about 6 pounds, but full of piss and vinegar!
Sleeps curled in my arm or knee every night – I so look forward to it.
But upmarket piss and vinegar surely!!
(A cat in a lap, resting, is one of life’s greatest pleasures 💕)
But upmarket lies and vinegar surely 😊
(A cat resting in ones lap is one of life’s most precious pleasures 💕)
cannot commend you enough – exactly the right attitude.
the shine on your labs alone is proof positive of your approach.👍🏻😁👍🏻
my preferred breed is one of the “split” ones – conformation v. field.
the dedicated field trialers have a saying: “the better he works, the prettier he gets”,
meaning the retriever part outweighs any conformation considerations.😂
i prefer a more balanced approach, as conformation at it’s core belies soundness.
long way of saying i maintain my interest in purebred dogs for exactly the reason under discussion –
while there are no GUARANTEES, a well established line
can give you a pretty good idea of the qualities of the adult dog.
unlike your blessed self, i don’t like surprises.🫣
and the remedial training done by those remarkable persons who have the patience to UNDO
behaiviours before training in the desired ones makes me tremble.
i like to train the right way first, then i only have to do maintenance thereafter,🤣
thank you for what you do.
i do my best to never place a dog that will wind up in rescue.
Thanks for your uplifting words zoom. Much appreciated.
Among our rescues were many purebreds: Chocolate lab, Brittany spaniel, Mastiff, and others.
People can be idiots no matter the breed of their animal. When they discard them, many of us are here. ❤️
No worries, dear zoom. I suspect AI myself. Has to be…no doubt about it.
Having said that, there were dogs, so in it went. Thin gruel this week I’m sorry to say…darn those commenters on other sites who are seemingly on “dog meme posting hiatus” and from whom I do my “thievery” 😎 Collecting cats for CATURDAY is easy, dogs are always a challenge for some reason…nevertheless, I trudge onward.
Again, having said that, I do take your point and am aware of the inhumane breeding practices and lying of many. As for buyer expectations, perhaps if those buyers invested in some homework and understood that a puppy is a puppy for about a nanosecond, both they and the dogs they adopt would be in much happier places. I suppose I expect too much of human nature…
As for your “unicorn”? 😂 😂 😂
Good to see you, my friend….blessed be your day 💕☕
i like your “meme farming” a lot!
you have an uncanny ability to promote interesting conversation.
i tune in every thursday AND saturday just to see which way you’ve pointed us.😂
as a dedicated realist, the unicorn is a prime example of that which is anathema to me.🤣
you are so right with your nanosecond comment – it’s true of a lot of things, unfortunately.
but got to keep fighting the good fight!
It is true, especially with children. Those who have them will confirm. Grandparents will double confirm. My beloved mother In law told me one time when I was lacking sleep with my first daughter, do not wish the time away. At the time, I couldn’t see. that far down the lining road which stretched out before me. But I’m there now. Boy oh boy, she was so right.
But I adore conversations…fond memories of all sorts of them when I lived in Wales, especially at small, intimate dinner gatherings where no topic was off limits…politics being a special favourite. Civilized but could get feisty.
Honestly, when I returned to the States and found a dirth of such interactions, I gave up. Until climbing into my branch. Another of the great benefits of “living” in close proximity to like minded people.
Yes, oh yes!! Fight on…for ourselves, friends, families, and those will come after us God willing 😎👍🏻
Tee Hee 😁
Perfect time to trim those nails!
Leave it to you, rah…well spotted 👍🏻😁
Hard for an elder dog to manage steps, so someone made it easier 💕
I see a lot of big older dog’s owners that are to heavy to pick up have removable ramps for the dog to get into their vehicle. We love our pets!
Jake, I have one of those, too!
Mornin’ Truli
Our folding ramp has for years been a permanent fixture in our old Suburban that we use to haul pups. Indispensable really.
It allows those old guys to continue having adventures with us!
Their needs before ours. Oh yes we do 💕
Gus built a ramp for our old dogs, too.
Good man, Truli 💕
Black Lab slept with us in queen size bed – for which I had crocheted a granny square bedspread. it had a plain ‘skirt’ border. Missy used it as a ladder.
Ruined the bedspread, but I didn’t care.
That’s because you and Doc valued the things which truly matter, dear sis. Missy no doubt thought you’d crocheted it just for her. Which in the end, you obviously had. I love this story 😌💕
and we did not ‘teach’ her to do that – she figured it out on her own… as jumping up on the bed became more difficult – a la ramps
But you didn’t stop her, did you, hmmmmmm??
You softie you 😉💕
in the days of reading newspaper cartoons I loved Marmaduke. On image one is Great Dane Marmaduke sleeping between Mom and Dad.
Scene 2 – Marmaduke stretches legs / Dad is on the floor.
Missy wasn’t quite that big, but she did pose a challenge when it came to ‘sharing the bed’
How dare you accuse me of being a softie – I just went along with whatever Doc wanted …
ooooh – my nose just grew
I’m moving out of the way of your nose!!!!.😂 😂 😂!!!
I liked Marmaduke, too. Once we went to a pub for a meal in Oswestry just on the English side of the Welsh border.
It was quite bright outside, so when we entered our eyes had to adjust to the dark.
We noticed, as best as we could, that the floor seemed rather lump. And it was moving!!
As we made our way to a table, the “lumps” rose like spectres, one after another.
Marmadukes they were….five of them if I remember rightly. Belonged to the pub landlord, a real dog lover. Friendly, too….the landlord and the Marmadukes 😁
I’m surprised there was no sign on the door…
“Animals Welcome, People Tolerated” 💕
being tall enough to look you in the eye, i’ll bet here were no rowdies in that pub
None whatsoever. A Posh Pub! 😂
Oh. Bets would I ever love that pub!
Oh you most definitely would. Dogs and good food can’t be beaten.

Money can’t buy that sort of advertising.
We have 4 sets of stairs for the old kitties so they can continue to get on bed, couches, etc. My granddoggy, Fritzee also uses them when here. No different than accommodating old farts – like me!
I’m shrinking so fast…every day I swear the kitchen counter top gets closer to my nose…I may need one myself 😂

Betsy, all he needs is a slice of watermelon!

Spoiled? Nah.
I’ll get right on that, sis!!! 😁👍🏻
A repeat, because I had to 😎
The days are long, but the years are short…

And how did I know you’d know, too, nim?🤔😉 I thought of you the moment I saw this one 😘
Number one favorite of the day! 💕
Thank you, Betsy! 😍

A photo of me, off once again for next week…
Blessings to all 😘
Betsy – once again you make Cursday magnificent.
Such a pleasure, Moosie. I’m always on the lookout, and some weeks are fuller than others…wish me luck for the next!!😎💕
Betsy herself is magnificent!
Can you just IMAGINE how much fun she would be as a neighbor?!?
Oh yes, I can! It is on my bucket list. what fun it would be to share a cuppa over the fence each morning.
Oh Greg…..😘
Look what I have for you-hoo!!
Hope you see it, dear sir!
Haaaaaaaaaaaaay…….

A little nibble definitely won’t hurt…and maybe another…and another, and…😉

You’re so very welcome, sis 😘☕ As I said once, it’s pretty easy to feel the mood of posters everywhere from which I…er…borrow? steal? purloin?…in all the chaos and uncertainty.

I believe you will find that extremely helpful in the meme harvesting.
Not every post is a meme, but there are a lot of memes. I’ve been on that site for an extremely long time, if you see something that says “sensitive content” it’s ok to click it. It is likely something with a rifle or pistol, being as it is that is a rimfire shooting site. One “sensitive content” pic is a Far Side cartoon.
Without being signed in I see 160 pages on that thread. I see 300 plus when I’m signed in, I don’t understand why, and I doubt any pages are actually hidden.
I promise you will find useful memes and you’ll laugh along the way.
Let me know if you get this message, please.
Received, dear Greg. Thank you…💕
I’ve left you a token of my deep gratitude above. Enjoy!!!

Mornin’ dear bet. Yep, the start of school is a poignant moment for most of us. I have fond memories of my elementary school.
Sunnymeade, which was a solid 50’s experience. For me it was vexing because, paradoxically, I didn’t learn to read until I was nine.
50’s schools didn’t do dyslexia but fortunately, my parents had the foresight to find a tutor. Ms. Cornealius was one of John Dewey’s 20’s educational radicals. She understood dyslexia, used phonics to jump start my reading skills—by the end of that summer I could read. Be well, love and have a wonderful day.
Poignant is the mot juste, dear Garrison. Especially for us at this moment. We have seven other grands much younger, but it is the three nearest to us whom we were blessed to be a part of there lives from babies onward to young adulthood. Honestly? The time went so fast we cannot account for how we got here. But life doesnt stop for is or others, even we say “pretty please, just for a minute!” No rewind or pause button either, worst luck…
Truly??? Nine?? I’d forgotten you were dyslexic, dear friend. Blessed be your mother and father for their successful and loving efforts. I reckon phonics is the only way to teach reading, that skill without which live is impossible to navigate…never mind without which other beautiful worlds are denied. Today’s boutique progressive methods have deprived who knows how many children of that precious gift. Phonics is the only key, which is why I suspect it was so cavalierly tossed aside.
I watched a small video of a Black English teacher (senior in high school level) sobbing because the students he had inherited from a failed system had no ability to read two paragraphs and then write two sentences about them. He was in utter despair. He understood these Black students would be condemned to doors slamming in their faces. And that’s the tragedy. On every individual and societal level.
Blessed be the rest of your day, friend of mine 😘
Mornin’ Dear Bets
This brings back so many memories of “first day of school” with my children.
Does anyone remember buying pencil cases and all the accouterments, a new lunchbox, shoes that you actually polished?!
The first day of school for my daughter was especially memorable; she barely slept the night before, her excitement was so great.
We set off walking that morning and along the way another mom and daughter joined us. The mom told us that this was the youngest of her 9 children! I thought to myself, this is great. I have an experienced mom to guide me.
Well…….we got to the schoolyard: nervous moms and spit-polished nervous children. The kindergarten teacher, Miss Mulligan, came out of the building and asked us all to make our misty- eyed farewells.
I was beginning to see signs of trouble brewing with experienced mom and her child (Elizabeth, I think).
It was time for the kiddos to line up and enter the school. They all lined up – except for Elizabeth. By now, she was screaming at the top of her lungs and kicking her mother in the shins. I can still hear her, “Im Not Going!”
Out of nowhere 2 guys come out of the building, probably teachers, and grab her by the arms and legs and carry her prone little body into the school.
You could have heard a pin drop. Every child silently lined up and scurried in. 😆 🤣 😂 😹 😆 🤣 😂.
Good thing cell phones didn’t exist at the time!
Caught you up top, girl, and left a message 😘
OMG OMG OMG!!!!!
😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 ->>>FOREVER!!!!
Un example pour les autres!! Hahahahaha!!! (Looking for a tissue to mop the tears streaming down my face!😂)
Oh my, I needed that. Can’t thank you enough, dear you…😍👍🏻!!
Mornin’ Dear Garrison
Saving this for later. I so appreciate your devotion. ❤️
My Experience as I get older…sigh
Amen to that! 🤣

Wild Crow Knocks On Window To Play With Cat and Dog Every Day
Nim – Crows are amazing birds. I live in the high desert of SW Colorado and I have a plethora of pack rats and mice that I eliminate with traps. The local crows like to hang around my house most days at the approximate time I check my traps. I usually toss the catch of the day into the yard and the crows, who have been slowly flying just over my head, loudly chattering at me, swoop down to take them away. I consider it my contribution to recycling. One of these days I am going to try to hold a carcass out by the tail to see if one will land on my arm to snatch the prize. What makes me laugh is that they will land a few feet from the carcass and hop sidways until they are just within reach of the prize then wipe their beaks on the ground, grab the carcass and fly away.
Don’t judge me too harshly for killing rats and mice. In this area they carry Hanta virus. I have also spent big money trying to prevent (with mixed success) them from clawing their way into my house. I much prefer the company of crows.
thx for the insights, Moosie

Huntington was one of the “big four” of railroad magnates, who included Mark Hopkins, Leland Stanford, and Charles Crocker. They formed a joint incorporation of the Central Pacific Railroad in 1861, aiming to link California to the east coast by rail.
Huntington served as the group’s political lobbyist, convincing US Congress to provide both legislation and finance. In 1865 the group formed the South Pacific railroad and built routes to link southern California to New Orleans.
In 1869 he bought the Chesapeake & Ohio Railway and extended it, linking San Francisco with Huntington in West Virginia. The city of Huntington was named after him.

Florence Nightingale
(1820-1910)
British nurse who revolutionized nursing during the Crimean War, dies at 90
Biography: Florence Nightingale was an English nurse known for her activities during the Crimean War, for which she earned the nickname “The Lady with the Lamp” after her late-night rounds to care for wounded soldiers. She was also a pioneer in statistics, inventing the Nightingale rose diagram—a predecessor to the modern pie chart.
Nightingale was responsible for modernizing nursing and setting high standards for sanitation, which ultimately saved countless lives. She managed a team of nurses and significantly improved the conditions at a British base hospital, where her meticulous data collection led to more efficient hospital designs and reformed healthcare policies.
Post-war, Nightingale established a nursing school at St. Thomas’ Hospital in London, creating a new professional path for women and transforming nursing into a reputable occupation. She was also a proficient writer, and her book Notes on Nursing has been a seminal text for nursing education.
Despite suffering from a debilitating illness from 1857 onwardsn that restricted her to her home, she continued to work on healthcare reform and hospital planning. It was not until her finale decade that a growing blindness brought her writing to a trickle.

H. G. Wells
(1866-1946)
English sci-fi author (The War of the Worlds, Time Machine), dies at 79
Biography: Herbert George Wells was an English writer who is often called the “father of science fiction.” Wells foresaw many scientific advancements, including aircraft, tanks, space travel, nuclear weapons, satellite television, and even the World Wide Web. His notable science fiction works include The Time Machine, The Island of Doctor Moreau, The Invisible Man, and The War of the Worlds.
Wells faced challenging early years, including a broken leg that led to a lifelong love of reading. He worked as a draper’s apprentice, a chemist’s assistant, and later, a pupil-teacher. His academic journey led him to the Normal School of Science in London, where he studied biology under Thomas Henry Huxley. Wells became a teacher, a profession that allowed him to continue his self-education.
His literary career began with writing short humorous articles for journals, leading to the publication of his first novel, The Time Machine, in 1895. Wells married his cousin Isabel Mary Wells, but they separated when he fell in love with one of his students, Amy Catherine Robbins, whom he later married.
Wells was also an outspoken socialist and a member of the Fabian Society, often sympathizing with pacifist views. In his later years, he wrote less fiction and more works on political and social views. He co-founded the charity The Diabetic Association in 1934, as he had diabetes himself.

The government in Austria has spent about $461,000 on a study of “far-right fashion,” which oddly concluded that any style could be suspect “if it is worn by people the study authors consider right-wing.”
But she also had to admit clothing styles across the political spectrum are similar, “Consequently, it appears almost any style could be considered ‘far-right’ if it is worn by people the study authors consider right-wing,” the report confirmed.

Muslim children in America are demanding taxpayer-funded HALAL meals in public schools.
Most of these students are from low-income refugee families already receiving free or reduced-price lunches. Yet instead of packing their own food to honor their religious rules, they demand that American schools rewrite the menu and foot the bill.
Why is it America’s job to fund and accommodate Muslims religious preferences?

Homer,
It’s Not!
I’m radical enough to think it’s not the American taxpayer’s responsibility to provide “free” breakfast, lunch, and back-packed meals for weekends for school children. (In addition to the food stamps that have already been provided for said meals).
I live in a very rural area. Unbelievably, the school district sends food out during the summer for the students – because the schools are too distant for the poor little things and their lazy parents to access!
I’m sure many, if not most, of you brought lunch from home to school. Except for special occasions, I packed lunch for my kids every day.
Cradle to grave government interference – no wonder the “DSA” movement is so popular. 😔

Lithium-Ion Hospitalizes Firefighter: Hydrogen Fluoride
A Wyoming man and volunteer firefighter is hospitalized with neurological symptoms after a SMARTECH jump starter goes into thermal runaway in his living room. He did everything right. It still put him in the hospital. We also look at a 2026 peer-reviewed study out of Dublin documenting two e-bike battery fire victims with severe lung injuries — one of whom didn’t survive.

Oooooooooh yeah…..
I’ll start watching the wnba when the men who can actually play basketball demonstrate the absurd by being absurd.
There are at least two former nba players who are willing to “identify” as women to play in the league.
https://www.foxnews.com/outkick-sports/clay-travis-sets-sights-french-trans-phenom-julie-tetart-proposed-inclusive-wnba-expansion-team.amp
Clay Travis applied for a franchise in the wnba…..and he means it.
An “all trans” team. It would DOMINATE the league.
And yes, it would demonstrate the absurd by being absurd. Rush would like that.
I think it’s utterly hilarious watching people contort themselves into saying men should be in women’s sports and then trying to explain why women are not in the nba.

Mornin’ Idaho
‘Morining Soaz. We’re getting a little rain. Are you folks getting rain and cooler temps?
Hi Idaho
I stupidly watch the forecast and get all charged up – now I wait till I hear it on the roof!
A big rain for us is 35 raindrops.
There are flash flood warning North at Heise. The big fire there recently left the ground bare and subject to flooding. Folks warned to head for high ground.
We’re at a lower end of the valley, but not really in flood danger.
Not much danger of a downpour, either. I hope it clears the dust off my car at least
Usually just rearranges the windshield dust here, however, it is coming down hard right now. Yay!
Prayers to the folks in danger of flooding. 🙏
-stay dry 💞
It’s almost the kind of rain where you’d like to be out playing in it.

The Our Father
☘️
Our Father, Who art in heaven,
Hallowed be Thy Name.
Thy Kingdom come.
Thy Will be done,
on earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Reflections – William Merritt Chase

☘️
Psalm 78:56-59, 61-62
☘️
Do not forget the works of the Lord!
They tempted and rebelled against God the Most High,
and kept not his decrees.
They turned back and were faithless like their fathers;
they recoiled like a treacherous bow.
Do not forget the works of the Lord!
They angered him with their high places
and with their idols roused his jealousy.
God heard and was enraged
and utterly rejected Israel.
Do not forget the works of the Lord!
And he surrendered his strength into captivity,
his glory in the hands of the foe.
He abandoned his people to the sword
and was enraged against his inheritance.
Do not forget the works of the Lord!

Mornin’ Dear Mo
Really enjoying William Merritt Chase’s art today. He does such a sweet job with babies and pups. And….he is American. Yay!
I especially like Reflections.
He did several self portraits – this is one. Interesting looking guy.
