The Dept of Justice in Washington, DC, dropped all charges against David Hearn for damage to the reflecting pool, saying instead that an investigation has led to information the installation was botched during construction.
Obviously, the leftists are taking a victory lap against previous accusations by President Trump that vandalism was the major cause of the algae return.

Prosecutors said that after the indictment, the Interior Department “provided additional documents to the USAO-DC indicating that damage to the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool in June 2026 was the result of flawed installation by the contractor, Atlantic Industrial Coatings.”
DOJ said they “first became aware of information showing that the damage was the result of a botched installation and not vandalism” after reviewing more documents.
The Justice Department filing said that based on its review of evidence, “it is difficult to attribute the widespread damage to the Reflecting Pool to vandalism, let alone to establish that fact beyond a reasonable doubt.” (read more)

Sometimes I think that appointees are carefully studied by the intelligence bureaucracies to find their soft or weak points, and via subtle communications with the appointees, the appointees are made aware of consequences of not adhering to The Plan.

She has a high bar … trying to convict a D in DC is extremely almost impossible. They are a protectred group in the district.
It appears Pirro did not inform the president prior to the announcement and convince him her finding is accurate. Hence, he blasted her, creating a serious, unforced PR mistake.
President Trump seems to have been blindsided by this. JJ should have told him what she was going to rule…

Before throwing JUDGE PIRRO under the bus … she is not the one who “discovers evidence” nor “determines how the evidence is linked to the charges” by the DoJ. JUDGE PIRRO rules on the application of the law.
What choice did she have?? We do not know how the “new evidence was presented” by DoJ. Did the DoJ present the new “as the sole cause of the damage”.
A full review of what “new evidence” the DoJ presented and how was the “new evidence” presented is needed.
This is a dismissal and NOT a verdict … so after a review new charges can be filed.
The President is flat wrong on this one with respect to Judge Pirro and needed to keep quiet until there is a review of what exactly happened. As it is now after his tirade .. refiling may not even an option thanks to his inability to show just a modicum of patience.
My opinion is that Pirro should have notified PDJT of the fact that they were going to drop the charges. Then she could have explained that there was (in her opinion) enough reasonable doubt in regards to the reflecting pool. Then he could have explained his position and come to an understanding.
Pirro’s office is the one that blindsided PDJT. He now has a right to put his opinion into the public airwaves.
Wrong .. Judge Pirro’s decision was made IN COURT and IN PUBLIC during the hearing.. She had no idea what DoJ was doing nor planning before the hearing.
Any DoJ meeting with Judge Pirro would have had to include the defendant’s lawyer, and that is the same as a public announcement before the President was informed, with respect to Judge Pirro.
It was on DoJ to notify President Trump that they were about to file for dismissal, before they met with the Judge and defendant’s Lawyer.
This is smear job vs Judge Pirro as all she can do is rule on the case as Presented by DoJ. There is no detail on how the case was presented … and it would be illegal and cause for dismissal for the Judge to meet with President if that was even possible.
Even IF the liner installation was faulty no way does that have anything to do with algae.
… even if the pool was damaged or liner was coming loose … if it was peeled and/or cut away by the defendant that is still damage caused by the defendant. Nobody at this point knows the content of the new evidence nor how the DoJ presented the new evidence … i.e. did they present the new evidence as mitigation or as sole cause of the damage?

The very thought of the Reflecting Pool looking beautiful again is an anathema to them – precisely because of TDS.
Why, we should rip the whole thing open and dump 150,000 gallons of water out of it every day. And, why not, directly pump DC sewage into it.

Maybe Jeanine Pirro should have called Trump about what she was going to do. Trump has been posting about the damage for a few weeks, … Trump really did try to give America a happy 4th of July 250 years party.
Some of these leftists did destruction to the Pool, and … no charges will be made. Trump heard about this from Leftist Media, and blew his top. I understand why Trump blew his top.
