My parents owned a couple of hamburger and BBQ fast food restaurants back in the day. They bought beef by the quarter and side. They started out with a retired butcher who could tell you if the beef was finished on grass or on grain by looking at the color of the fat.
One day, the butcher glanced over as a driver brought in a side of beef. He told the driver to get that carcass out of the kitchen. “That animal was sick before it was slaughtered.”
Those were the days.
I tell my kids that fast food and pizza placed used to have much better tasting food in the 70s and 80s, and they can’t relate to that at all. The food at these places tastes so much worse now.
And not too much different in the 60’s. I remember the Woolworths lunch counter. Mom would take us shopping for new school clothes in the morning and we would have lunch there afterward.

Many outside Iran misjudge Iranian public opinion toward their government. Reality: the percentage of Iranians clamoring for a “more democratic and free” country replacing the regime rarely rose above 20%, dipping into low single digits once the US plotted their regime change.
Why do people often misperceive Iranian public opinion? This is heavily influenced by a western intel backed “polling” organization, GAMMAN, out of the Netherlands claiming to almost exclusively survey Iranian public opinion. I think that we all can be grateful that our actual military strategists are fully aware of these issues.
Certainly, the biggest counter-argument to “boots on the ground” is, simply, missiles. The Mullahs have never attempted to use “ground forces” to project power. Instead, they use air and sea. To the extent that they have an army, they have never used it.
There is basically no clearly-identifiable place where we could drop a bunch of soldiers, give them a clearly-identifiable mission (whatever THAT might turn out to be), and expect them to survive.
If we were to place a squad of soldiers “boots on the ground,” it is extremely likely that a missile air-burst would wipe out all of them at once, without fanfare. And all that the enemy would need is: “coordinates.” Therefore, this is really not a viable strategy. Human beings die very easily.
The entire situation, therefore, is very complicated. But I think that the experts in our military are keenly aware of this.
On the public side, of course we are all frustrated . . .

I’ll just say this . . . “$186 million dollars” is not “a vast amount of funding.” It is certainly not enough “money” to completely influence (“buy off …”) one nation after another after another. Nor is it enough to cause “one sovereign nation after another after another” to sign on to his schemes.
“41” million in Russia? That’s not a lot. “6.5” million in Ukraine? That’s even less.
Therefore: In my view, “George Soros™” is, in fact, a straw man. There must be much(!) bigger forces at play. Let public attention now be distracted.
And I would expect to find each of the real players – as is clearly the case in the United States – to be very-firmly embedded within each nation of interest.
