Thursday of the Fifteenth Week in Ordinary Time; Opt Mem of Our Lady of Mount Carmel
Today is the Optional Memorial of Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Sacred Scripture celebrated the beauty of Carmel where the prophet Elijah defended the purity of Israel’s faith in the living God. In the twelfth century, hermits withdrew to that mountain and later founded the Carmelite order devoted to the contemplative life under the patronage of Mary, the holy Mother of God.
Devotion to Our Lady of Mount Carmel is worldwide, and most Catholics are familiar with the Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, also known as the Brown Scapular. The feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel was instituted for the Carmelites in 1332, and extended to the whole Church by Benedict XIII in 1726.

Today is the principal feast day of the Carmelite Order. Through the efforts of the crusader Berthold, a group of hermits living on Mount Carmel were organized into an Order after the traditional Western type about the year 1150. Oppressed by the Saracens, the monks slowly emigrated to Europe. During the night preceding the sixteenth of July, 1225, the Blessed Virgin is said to have commanded Pope Honorius III to approve the foundation. Since the Carmelites were still under constant harassment, the sixth General of the Order, St. Simon Stock, pleaded with the Blessed Virgin for some special sign of her protection. On July 16, 1251, she designated the scapular as the special mark of her maternal love. That is why the present feast is also known as the feast of the Scapular. The scapular, as part of the habit, is common to many religious Orders, but it is a special feature of the Carmelites. A smaller form of the scapular is given to lay persons in order that they may share in the great graces associated with it.

Wrapping her meds in cheese, and down they go. I hope your new AC fit perfectly and is pumping out that cold air. I wouldn’t have made it had I’d been one of the settlers who went West…God knew what He was doing when He decided I shouldn’t be born then.)

Anyway, God has been so extraordinarily good to me and continues to bless me even though I do not deserve His goodness. All that matters now is that people will see their need for our Savior and repent before it’s too late. The path to destruction truly is broad and I believe He is showing us that vividly – those with eyes to see. May He, in His infinite mercy, remove the scales from many, many eyes in these last days.
2 Peter 3:9 – “The Lord is not slow about His promises as some count slowness; He is patient toward you – not willing for any to perish but for all to come to repentance. ” (emphasis mine.).
Thee and me, sis. These really are the times which try men’s souls. The scales have fallen from the eyes of millions I pray. The prince of this world and of darkness is obviously overreaching, forgetting it seems that his time is short and going all in to make the most of it. I have to believe it.
And perhaps Almighty God is showing us what a world without Him looks like, giving us who see and are deeply aware an opportunity to right the course of it as best we can, as in Peter. I pray so, because our world with the Father is a terrible place.

At this moment, there are at least 3 tennis balls scattered around the house (little green land mines), and a dozen outside. And, we keep “shooters” for them outside for when our arms give out.
I did not have any shooters and my arms did give out when I would throw the tennis balls for Buddy, my Catahoula. He would finally stop and then go steal a log from the fireplace stack outside and carry it around everywhere. I had to go around the yard and look for them before I could mow the lawn. I am not sure how he was able to carry them, run down the fence by the driveway and bark at the vehicles coming up all at the same time. He did have really strong jaws though. I miss him as he made me laugh daily! Sigh and some tears. Where are my tissues?

Soaz, do you think D-Mannose would work with animals? It is naturally occurring simple sugar, normally from cranberries, and your body utilizes it to help cleanse the urinary tract and maintain a healthy bladder lining. It’s metabolized only in small amounts, with excess excreted in urine, so it does not interfere with healthy blood sugar regulation. I take two every day and have not had a UTI for years! I get it from a health food store but I imagine you can buy it online. I get he one by “now”, nowfoods.com, but i am sure there are other brands. It is not terribly pricey but not cheap either. In my opinion, it is worth it!

D-Mannose is a terrific supplement for UTI. I’d have to research use in animals.
The colloidal silver process is a little complicated.
I’ll either sit down and see if I can make it sound doable, or I’ll find directions online that are clear for you.
One of the main things is having 99.99% pure silver to work with. Nothing less in purity is safe.

I usually choose the Pepe’ St. Martins recording because he recorded it with his famous “La Wonderful” Miguel Rodrigues guitar (which I was fortunate enough to be allowed to play at one of his master classes), but you don’t get to see him playing. This one, however, is quite well done including allowing us to see the performer.
I’m afraid I have some bad news. Little ‘Tink has gone missing. She hasn’t been home for the past 3 days , near neighbors haven’t see her and I’m fearing the worst. This isn’t like her at all; she is, in fact, a real home body.
I haven’t given up hope, however because she did this a few years ago—was gone for several days but then showed up hungry and a bit bedraggled. Be well, dear friend. Perhaps I’ll have some good news soon.

Where is Buffalo Bill when you need him?
Love this. I raised 8 buffalo calves on my ranch I used them to train my cutting horses. It was fun to watch the cars slow down in front of the ranch to gawk at the buffalos in the front pasture. They were quite gentle, although we were very cautious around them.
I remember sitting on the fence waiting for a water trough to fill and several came over and licked my jean leg. That usually meant they wanted scratches behind their ears. When they grew up I gave them to a wildlife preserve. I enjoyed watching them grow up.

Mo, I was blessed with many chances to do things I wanted to do during different stages of my life. After retiring from working for a semiconductor assembly plant which offered me many wonderful traveling opportunities, I learned to groom dogs and cats and was able to have a grooming shop in the mountains of Arizona.
I married my second husband and he wanted a horse ranch in Texas. I always loved horses but being from a family with four girls and an enlisted Navy father, we could not afford horses. So at the age of 49, I became a rancher in Texas and decided that God gifted me with the horses I had always loved and could never have growing up. Had the ranch from 1999 until 2021 at which time I was older and could no longer run it.
Sold it and bought a smaller place. I still have my 30 year old Quarter Horse breeding stallion and take care of this wonderful “gift from God” the way God would want me to take care of His gift, until God chooses to take him home.
I have been so blessed by our God and I am grateful every day for all the wonderful gifts he has given me to “live my best life” as Sundance reminds us.

Good evening Mrs. Feeling. Yes, I have been blessed by God with an amazing life. I am grateful, humble and so very fortunate to have been gifted by God.
When I learned to ride my cutting horses, one of the trainers used Buffalo. That is the reason I bought the calves.
There was also a breeder here in North Texas that raised Buffalo specifically for the training of cutting horses.

COMMENTARY FOR JAMES 1:19
This epistle of James is one of the most instructive writings in the New Testament. Being chiefly directed against particular errors at that time brought in among the Jewish Christians, it does not contain the same full doctrinal statements as the other epistles, but it presents an admirable summary of the practical duties of all believers. The leading truths of Christianity are set forth throughout; and on attentive consideration, it will be found entirely to agree with St. Paul’s statements concerning grace and justification, while it abounds with earnest exhortations to the patience of hope and obedience of faith and love, interspersed with warnings, reproofs, and encouragements, according to the characters addressed. The truths laid down are very serious, and necessary to be maintained; and the rules for practice ought to be observed in all times. In Christ there are no dead and sapless branches, faith is not an idle grace; wherever it is, it brings forth fruit in works.How to apply to God under troubles, and how to behave in prosperous and in adverse circumstances. (1-11) To look upon all evil as proceeding from ourselves, and all good from God. (12-18) The duty of watching against a rash temper, and of receiving the word of God with meekness. (19-21) And of living according thereto. (22-25) The difference between vain pretences and real religion. (26,27)
19-21 Instead of blaming God under our trials, let us open our ears and hearts to learn what he teaches by them. And if men would govern their tongues, they must govern their passions. The worst thing we can bring to any dispute, is anger. Here is an exhortation to lay apart, and to cast off as a filthy garment, all sinful practices. This must reach to sins of thought and affection, as well as of speech and practice; to every thing corrupt and sinful. We must yield ourselves to the word of God, with humble and teachable minds. Being willing to hear of our faults, taking it not only patiently, but thankfully. It is the design of the word of God to make us wise to salvation; and those who propose any mean or low ends in attending upon it, dishonour the gospel, and disappoint their own souls.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
