Parents had friends that were from Scotland, as a kid, it was hard to understand the accent, LOL, but they were enjoyable to be around! Learned later to enjoy a “wee Deoch and Doris”. My maternal grandmother came from Norway as an 18 year old in the 1920s. My DNA is various Northern European, but Norwiegian heritage is my favorite. Tough people, hard working. I’ll be rooting for the Norse (unless they square off against the USA)
My maternal great-grandparents came over on the boat from Laerdal, Norway, on the Sognefjiord, in the 1870’s, settled in Minnesota and South Dakota. Absolutely wonderful to see all the Norwegians here in America.
