One Fourth of July, my late father-in-law managed to befriend a local fireworks operator so that we were able to be present at the process of shooting-off the show. These were ATF-licensed eight inch mortars: the big guns.
And what was most interesting to me was to watch how they did it. They checked all the fuses one more time before nightfall. Then, they lit off the entire show by walking around, according to a script, with blowtorches. (Yes: “Fire in the hole!”) Everyone wore goggles and hearing protection, and had a headlamp. The fuses were long.
Oddly enough, the entire area was very quiet: only a “thump” of the lifting charges going off. The action was taking place high overhead. The finale was packaged into a giant “cake,” off by itself, strapped together, and lit with a single fuse.
Once the entire show was finished, they walked around with backpacks with water tanks on them, and poured water into every single tube. Whether or not they knew it had successfully fired. So that anything that hadn’t fired would be drowned. The water drained out. Then, they left it to be cleaned up the next day.
While the various crew members walked around firing the show, one of them was standing there in the middle, looking at a list, observing everything. Presumably a safety officer.
Friends of mine are licensed in Wisconsin and I got the chance to be very close to launch site, many times. Great big thumps!
The DC show had to be electronic firing and some of those shells were 12″ tubes. It’s basically a bowling ball of gunpowder.
Very interesting to see some greenish silver shells. Not very common.

I have the faith that the Lord put the right man in the right place at the right time, picking our 250th Birthday as part of the setting.
This is no less a heavy lift than Moses “set my people free” or the parting the Red Sea, Gideon and his 300, David vs Goliath, Elijah taking on Ahab and Jezebel, or more recent, 101st Screaming Eagles at Bastogne, you pick, it’s a big deal.
What President Trump is attempting to correct is a gargantuan task, this level of entrenched evil, will take divinely inspired courage, faith, unity, patience and time.
As crappy as it’s been in the past few years, speaking for myself and the world, this is a “can’t see the forest for the trees” scenario, If we screw up this once in a lifetime opportunity by expecting exacting perfection, or unrealistic time schedules, this works against our goal of restoration of the USA.
Our Great American President Donald J Trump’s success is vital.
His success is our victory; our victory means the end of the Deep State and a better world for Americans and the West as a whole. His loss would be the end of President Trump, think the Romanov’s after the Bolsheviks seized power in Russia the end of the USA and probably, American Civil War II.
With that in mind, President Trump has been moving at a withering pace; he has the swamp rats exposed and on their heels.
He’s recently been making denotative statements like “all roads lead to Obama” using terms like sedition and treason. He said, “we have total control”, at Teddy Roosevelt Library. He’s not bandying about the fact that Communism is a “mortal enemy” with the outbreak of DSA.
Words mean things, especially at the Presidential level, specifically Commander-in-Chief.
How does he have total control? …what is his recourse for Sedition/Treason? …or that something is a “mortal enemy” of the USA?
There are many things he can do, I expect him to go after them, if not, it’ll be his head on the proverbial chopping block.

PDJT made a comment a few weeks ago, something about “We’ve been waiting for this for a long time, and we are prepared”.
I’m guessing there is a plan and this is the kick off.
Reflecting on our 250 years, I realized that I have been a citizen for 27.2% of those years. That is a significant amount of that time. Many on this site have even higher percentages.
What that means to me is that this country is truly a young country and we are the ones still building it. We have a responsibility far beyond what many of us take the time to think about sometimes, It is during anniversaries like now when we need to redouble our efforts to fight the corruption that has seeped into our system and remove the rot that will weaken our constitutional republic.
We have to take it back at the local level first. Cleaning up local voter rolls. Each state can have their own SAVE Act, welfare reform, etc. Eventually enough states can make a difference at the federal level. Focus on the state where you live. States’ rights were very much an important principle of our Founders.
