The US entered the conflict with a detailed plan for a war of destruction, but no serious plan for Iran’s war of disruption.

Nestled inside the four months since the United States launched attacks on Iran was six weeks of the most intensive air campaign since the “shock and awe” opening of the Iraq invasion. Yet the deal it produced, while still in final negotiations, seems to be a draw at best and, in many ways, favors Iran. Threatening to resume the bombing, as President Donald Trump has done several times, misunderstands why.
The US was engaged in two air wars simultaneously — one of destruction, and one of disruption. It lost the one that mattered most.
The first — the air war of destruction — centered on the US and Israel seizing the airspace high above Iran and exploiting it to strike at scale. Above 20,000 feet, where stealth and precision-guided munitions decide outcomes, the US military performed exactly as designed. It achieved air superiority over large swaths of southern and western Iran, degraded air defenses, sank much of Iran’s traditional navy, and damaged elements of its missile and drone capabilities. The war of destruction was measured in targets (DMPIs, or “desired mean points of impact” in military parlance) hit and capabilities destroyed. By those metrics, the US won.
Yet Iran managed to keep the Strait of Hormuz effectively closed. A second air war — a war not of destruction but of disruption, imposing psychological and economic costs until the fighting became politically unbearable — decided that.
From the first day of this conflict, Iran’s drones and missiles were aimed not at preventing American air superiority over Tehran, but at making it beside the point. Having largely ceded the higher altitudes, Tehran shifted its military effort downward, to the air littoral — the low-altitude airspace — over and around the Strait of Hormuz, where inexpensive drones and missiles proved sufficient to make the world’s most important energy chokepoint too costly and dangerous to transit, for commercial vessels and the US Navy alike.
Put another way: Iran did not need to win the war of destruction. It needed to make winning it not feel worth it to the US.

The framework agreement now being worked out is a measure of which air war mattered more. Trump’s threat to hit Iran “very hard again, only harder” misses the point. The US air campaign did not fail because it was not intense enough. It failed because it prioritized the air war that did not decide the outcome. More bombs will not win the war that mattered.
The question was never who controls the skies over Tehran. It was always who wins the war of disruption below them.

The Iranians have threatened to respond in kind against their neighbors to any attacks on their long lead time for restoration infrastructure that would “bomb them back into the stone age” which is why Trump has threatened that a number of times, sometimes wildly, and then backed off.

This analysis is strange. All wars in history are about taking and holding land. Air power is a means of supporting armies advancing on the ground. If a whole country cannot be defeated, then a portion can be taken. There is no such thing as a war without boots on the ground.
In history, the fighting of a war continues until an agreement is reached to stop. Fighting is not stopped for a holiday, or for talks in Geneva. The talks are concurrent with the fighting.
Winston Churchill described how to make war: “Concentrate your force. Seek out and destroy the enemy.” Simple. What was the lesson we learned from Vietnam? Don’t fight a war you don’t intend to win. What does history say about how a war was won or lost? The victors write the history of it.
Iran has an army, but does not project power using it.

That’s one of the most convoluted pieces of blah blah blah I’ve read today. It tries to conflate ordinary warfare strategy with President Trump’s shall we say creative strategies.
And it doesn’t take into account one of the President’s main goals, which is to rid the world of the top level crazy and blood thirsty leaders, thus creating a power vacuum so that more rational people can prevail. We are in the period right now where the main thing happening in Iran is that top level people are fighting with each other for control. That is the big story.
Further, the blah blah blah doesn’t address President Trump attempting to help the Iranian people. Unlike in other wars where the population more or less supports their leaders, the people of Iran have been desecrated by the mullahs and IRGC. President Trump supports the people while taking out the leaders.
Finally, a huge difference in the President’s strategy is that he is facilitating peace in the Middle East. Regarding Iran, this means he is working with the surrounding neighbors to build consensus in decisions. This is huge! And he is making great progress, which is also not mentioned in the article. You may be aware that one of the big topics of conversation has been “bombs.” President Trump and the Gulf states have jointly made decisions.

I read daily and this is the first I have heard of this. It needs to be much more widely publicized; I think the response would be quite different than they are hoping for from the general public.

I argue that ANY raise is in fact a variance in lawmaker compensation – so their salaries should be DECREASED and returned to the ORIGINAL amount as existed when the 27th amendment was passed…
Then there is the clause “until an election of Representatives shall have intervened” – which means that lawmakers CAN in fact vote to “vary” their salary.
Considering their continual abrogation of their duties, their salaries should be reduced to ZERO. MAYBE after they balance the budget, eliminate the debt, pass a law that states a budget must be less than the previous year’s government income, eliminate income tax, pass the SAVE Act, AND pass a law prohibiting birth citizenship to ANYONE who is not the child of a legal American citizen we’ll consider the subject of salary – which would be tied to a continued balanced budget and adherence to the Constitution.
Trivia: The 27th Amendment first appeared as the second line on the (12 lines in all …) Bill of Rights document. Because there was no time limit specified for its adoption, it remained available and was finally passed.

In regards to this particular case – IMO it’s severely twisted logic whose sole intent is theft.

In fact, in this particular case you don’t have to “install” anything to use a different search engine – you simply enter the URL of your search engine of choice, just as you do with ANY browser. Just because many users CHOOSE not to do so isn’t the company’s problem as long as there is an open market of alternatives – rendering the only non-pretending legal issue being the openness of their “app store.”

I was a kid in the 1950’s and some of my first toys were army men, little green soldiers, and I would line them up, both sides, … hold a hand-held device that had plastic darts and periscope type thing, … to blow up the enemy. Fun times (at least I was smiling and laughing at the time).
The adults have the big toys, and the presidents have the BIGGEST, GREATEST EVER TOYS … with lasers, drones, jets, battleships, …and tons of Big Boy Toys.
At about 12 years old, I was Playing war, with my buddies … hide and seek type stuff … and get the enemy with cap guns, and other type stuff. Fun Stuff.
As a kid, never saw body parts, children blow apart, women killed, and grandparents in blow out homes, … or roving soldiers doing horrible things (unspeakable things).
It’s just a game, right? I was taught early , about the age of 3-5 years old.
Hey , just understand … brave men on both sides die, and they have families, and parents, … and on some level TRUMP (being a feeling and amazing human being … does see those images, and I’m sure Trump cries at the destruction).

My Tran sucks. Condenser fan broke after 5 years. Supposedly cooling coils leaks because they are mixed metals..a cheap manufactoring flaw.
I had some minor leaks somewhere after 10 years that caused icing in my A coil. The cost to find a leak and refill with refrigerant was almost the same as new unit. The pressure drop was barely below the threshold so I asked about just refill. That was 3/4 of the cost because they have to capture it with special equipment and it has a high cost for disposal. Bring back Freon!

Just spent time outside doing various tasks and there was nary a breeze in sight – but the sun was pounding down upon me like a blacksmith’s hammer upon red hot metal as I contemplated what is and has been and is yet to come as I went about my tasks. In spite of the pounding, the fresh air and sunshine was welcome, as was the beauty of God’s creation. In a manner it was much like what our great nation has gone through in its 250 year history – forged in the fire, pounded by its many challenges, and buttressed by faith. May His blessings continue to rain down upon her for the next 250 years, as it surely will for the remainder of mine on this earth.
There are times in mid-February when I’ll read about other Treeper’s tulips starting to pop-up, and I’ll look out my window at the 5 foot snow drift that has almost reached the sill.
Spring was especially late here in the hinterland of Minnesota.
Our worst summers have maybe 7 days with temps over 80 degrees, and this week we had 3 of those days.
But the best part of summer temps in the hinterland is the big air conditioner that lies less than 1 mile from our home — Lake Superior.
The last three days have been baking-hot, but come evening the cool air rolls in and brings 50 degree temps with it. Those cool night breezes in the heat of summer help make the 5 foot snow drifts in winter a lot more tolerable.

Adjusted for Bidenflatiion Trump’s gas prices are significantly lower. And just what is the Democrats plan for affordability? We saw it during the Biden administration. Higher taxes. More regulations. For oil and gas less drilling. Higher wages for politicians but not workers and funding trillions for illegals but not one cent for SS recipients, we will cut their benefits.

“The Highest Glory of the American Revolution” by Dutch Sheets
“… When the Declaration of Independence was signed, Adams said it “will be the most memorable epoch in the history of America. I am apt to believe that it will be celebrated by succeeding generations as the great anniversary Festival. It ought to be commemorated as the Day of Deliverance by solemn acts of devotion to God Almighty. It ought to be solemnized with pomp and parade, with shows, games, sports, guns, bells, bonfires, and illuminations, from one end of this continent to the other, from this time forward forever.”
And so it is. As we celebrate this monumental day, the 250th birthday of America, I leave you with the words of Founding Father Joseph Warren, quoted by Ronald Reagan in his First Inaugural Address. Reagan shared:
“On the eve of our struggle for independence, a man who might have been one of the greatest among the Founding Fathers, Dr. Joseph Warren, President of the Massachusetts Congress, said to his fellow Americans, ‘Our country is in danger, but not to be despaired of…. On you depend the fortunes of America. You are to decide the important questions upon which rest the happiness and the liberty of millions yet unborn. Act worthy of yourselves.’”
Reagan continued, “Well, I believe we, the Americans of today, are ready to act worthy of ourselves, ready to do what must be done to ensure happiness and liberty for ourselves, our children, and our children’s children.”

Pray with me:
Father, we give thanks for our freedom. Americans are an immeasurably blessed people. We make our heavenward appeals today, asking for the courage to “act worthy of” this blessing and of our holy calling (Ephesians 4:1).
Give us hearts of iron, nerves of steel, holy zeal, and supernatural endurance. Fill us with fresh resolve to answer destiny’s call. Give us hearts that bow low, but dream high. Make us the Joshuas and Calebs, the Adams, Warrens, and Reagans of our time, fearless in the face of spiritual giants and of those who war against Your planned harvest.
May this be Your Ekklesia’s finest hour, Your Kingdom’s greatest advance on planet earth. We will represent our great Redeemer until we can say with our brother, Paul, “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith” (2 Timothy 4:7 NASB). And in our great Redeemer’s name, Jesus, we pray, amen.
Our decree:
We WILL “act worthy” of our calling, and the purposes of God for America WILL be accomplished!” …….
