I get wanting something better. We know so much more than they knew when they did the KJV translation. Language has changed significantly since then. But there is a crusade taking place here. An arrogant obsession. Totally distracting from the point of actually using the author’s devotionals.
At least it points out that our Bibles aren’t the perfect word of God. One translation may be ‘better’ than another. But none are perfect. And yet all can bring you closer to God and His Son Jesus Christ. Or is it Yeshua the Messiah. (read to end)
And KJV has something few others have. They strived to make the language beautiful. So much gets lost in any robotic translation. Such translations lose the beauty within the words. I am ambivalent about this. Finding Beautiful language to say girl get up is one thing. But as critic above points out, it becomes another avenue to add error.

But they all get the same point across. BTW, I hate when translators leave original words unexplained. Mark here leaves the original Aramaic words. At least he gives an explanation. It makes one wonder, how can two Aramaic words need so many words in translation, 4 Greek or as many as 8 English.
That is translation for you. Mark must have seen something beautiful in those two words of Jesus, so he left them in place while striving to convey it in a Greek language that can’t quite do the same.
And of course, I am ignorant of both Aramaic and Greek, needing to turn to experts to translate them for me.
In other complaints I’ve seen Holy Ghost criticized. KJV did not originate it. on this page, you will find that the 4 translations given which predate the KJV all used Ghost, not Spirit. https://biblehub.com/parallel/luke/3-22.htm (under early modern) The language changed. Two words once used interchangeably now mean different things.
Spirit is the much better word to use now. And by far most translations use it. But it is downright silly to demonize somebody for using a word that was appropriate at the time.
There are many things about KJV that still bother me. The margin notes in the Geneva Bible, used by pilgrims BTW, were anti Kings and organized Churches. That did not go well in England. So the KJV was political propaganda. And was the only translation allowed for a very long time. That is why it became the dominant English version.

To me, it is telling that KJV love grew out of propaganda forced on us.
Also, When I first read the Bible in German, I found the name James didn’t exist in the Bible. But more recently I found the “J” didn’t exist in Hebrew, Greek or Latin. Indeed, it was added to languages long afterwards. But first, when added it was not a hard “J” like we have now. More like the “J” used in Spanish. But the guttural “J” like in German and English came later.
It is kind of messed up that names like Joshua and Jacob are blatant distortions of the originals. But Jesus name is a further distortion of Joshua. As someone who was taught to pray in the name of Jesus, this bugs me a lot more than my name being falsely slapped on Apostles and on Jesus brother, or KJV translators unwittingly getting other things wrong.
And, if you look up John 11:35 (I have already used 3 links). It is hard to find any English translation other than ‘Jesus wept.’ The 4 earlier than KJV use Iesus, and one of the two translations from Aramaic uses Yeshua. Sort of documenting the corruption of Yeshua’s name to Iesus and then Jesus.
Does it really matter Yeshua or Jesus? Can we still have faith in Him if we use the wrong translation? I’d like to think yes, we can. But I don’t get to decide that.

A 2021 National Firearms Survey estimated that 31.1% of gun owners have used a firearm defensively at least once in their lives. The same survey found that there were 1.67 million incidents of defensive gun use per year, with 81.9% involving no shots fired. Even accepting the lower estimates, DGUs number in the hundreds of thousands annually. At the same time, a 2025 Rutgers study emphasized that DGUs are far less common than exposure to gun violence, finding that fewer than 1% of gun owners report a defensive use in a given year, compared to 11.6% who report exposure to gun-related harm. That deterrent effect could be invaluable on campuses, where many safety concerns involve harassment, stalking, or attempted assault.

I looked out the windows and decided JW.
Donned my holster and went out to talk to them – very politely, I might add. I asked, if they would step out of the vehicle and salute my flag: and then they could come in for coffee and discussion.
They chose to go into a long winded explanation of why they don’t pledge allegiance or serve this country.
I chose to direct them out and respect “No Trespassing” signs in the future.

My take on the drama of the WNBA and Catlin Clark. To be clear I haven’t watched pro basketball since the days of the likes of Larry Bird and Micheal Jordan. But it is in impossible for a sports fan to not be sucked in to watching the videos on YouTube and X concerning that drama.
Caitlin IS the golden goose. The most talented female basketball player I have ever seen.
I think she will stay in the WNBA and she will win some more. Not just basketball games, or endorsement contracts. I believe she will use her popularity and monetary value to the league and those invested in it to force the WNBA and their refs to be reformed.
The only reason why the WNBA even exists is because it has been financed by the NBA. The three top living legends of the NBA, Bird, Jordan, and James plus several others like Barkley, have ALL made statements supporting Caitlin and warning the racist, sexist, and corrupt WNBA it better straighten up and fly right and protect it’s talent.
The commissioner of the NBA, Nate Silver, the guy that negotiated the new TV deal for the WNBA, has made it clear that the leagues management is under a microscope and if they don’t get their ship in order, the NBA will take over their league operations.

Biography: Harriet Quimby was an American aviator, journalist, and screenwriter. Quimby was born in Michigan but moved with her family to California and later to San Francisco, where she began her journalism career. She wrote for various publications before moving to New York City in 1903 as a theater critic for Leslie’s Illustrated Weekly, writing over 250 articles.
Quimby’s interest in aviation started at the 1910 International Aviation Meet. There she met aviator John Moisant and his sister Matilde. She soon went on to become the first licensed American female pilot in 1911.
Quimby wrote about her flying adventures and saw aviation as a sport suitable for women. She joined the Moisant International Aviators and made a healthy living through her performances at airshows. Quimby wrote screenplays and briefly acted in movie, as well as serving as spokesperson for Vin Fiz soda.
In April of 1912, she flew over the English Channel, being the first woman to do so, although her achievement was somewhat overshadowed by the Titanic disaster. Many had expected her to fail, whereas she herself had expected someone else to beat her to this feat and so had planned it all in secrecy.
Quimby died in a flying accident at an aviation meet in Massachusetts. Her life and achievements are honored by several memorials and she was posthumously inducted into the National Aviation Hall of Fame and other organizations.

I get it and I understand that we must do all to rescue/aid those whom disaster has befallen, and we will go to extra-ordinary effort (and expense) to save just 1 life, which is fitting and right – even extending this to animals. However I can’t help feeling a certain bitterness, even disgust when there are millions of “forgotten” people, our people, not foreigners, who in the case of vets have given their all, yet they and their fellow outcasts appear out of reach of compassion. I get it that some/many are so 100% because of bad choices and continued behavior, but many, many could be rescued. Unless of course, after the camera’s and crews have gone home that same rescued Dad and son will soon find themselves sleeping in a cardboard box – just like ours.

COMMENTARY FOR 2 CHRONICLES 15
The people make a solemn covenant with God.
– The work of complete reformation appeared so difficult, that Asa had not courage to attempt it, till assured of Divine assistance and acceptance. He and his people offered sacrifices to God; thanksgiving for the favours they had received, and supplication for further favours. Prayers and praises are now our spiritual sacrifices. The people, of their own will, covenanted to seek the Lord, each for himself, with earnestness. What is religion but seeking God, inquiring after him, applying to him upon all occasions? We make nothing of our religion, if we do not make heart-work of it; God will have all the heart, or none. Our devotedness to God our Saviour, should be avowed and shown in the most solemn and public manner. What is done in hypocrisy is a mere drudgery.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

I believe we are being groomed for a civil war. Do we conservatives take the brunt of the impact to allow America to continue as a communist Marxist nation or do we destroy it all. This disease like a cancer has grown to every part of our nation and removal is impossible without destruction of the nation.
And do not look to the money changers for relief, they will sell your humanity for Pennies while telling you it’s a benefit.
If you need an analogy for that look to the lotto and gambling houses, your chance of survival with them is almost zero. God offers his protection but we will reap the whirlwind.
