My favorite song from this set is “Annie, I’m Not Your Daddy”, with the classic Coconuts refrain:

The Ox wrote this song for the Who Are You album. He was not happy on the final arrangement they did.

The Who were a unique band in that everyone played lead. When they lost Keith Moon they never fully recovered but with Zak Starkey joining in he became the heir apparent as he was as close and faithful to the music as Moon was.

When John Entwistle died it changed the band for good. They played on but even with great bass players that unique sound was lost.

One aspect of Entwistle was that he and Moon played off each other. When Starkey joined up that same kind of energy came out again. It was great to see and hear while it lasted.

Optional Memorial of St. Cyril of Alexandria, Bishop and Doctor of the Church

Today is the Optional Memorial of St. Cyril, Patriarch of Alexandria (376-444). Cyril was one of the metropolitan sees of the Christian Church in the east, was one of the great defenders of the faith against the heresy of Nestorius who denied the oneness of person in Jesus Christ. At the Council of Ephesus in 431, over which he presided in the pope’s name, and at his instigation, it was defined that Christ, the Son of God, is at the same time God and man, and the Blessed Virgin Mary, His mother, is truly Theotokos, the Mother of God. St. Cyril died in 444. The Church venerates him as one of her great doctors. His commentary on the Gospel of St. John is one of the richest doctrinally of those left us by the Fathers of the Church.

Our Lady of Perpetual Help also is traditionally commemorated today.

St. Cyril of Alexandria
St. Cyril is one of the great Greek Fathers of the Church. He was chosen by Divine Providence to be the shield and champion of the Church against Nestorius, who denied the unity of persons in Christ. If this heresy had succeeded, Mary would not be called the Mother of God.

Excepting Sts. Athanasius and Augustine, his equal as a defender of orthodoxy can hardly be found in the Church’s history. His greatest achievement was the successful direction of the ecumenical council at Ephesus (431), of which he was the soul (Pope Celestine had appointed him papal legate). In this council two important dogmas were defined—that there is but one person in Christ, and that Mary (in the literal sense of the word) can be called the Mother of God (Theotokos). His successful defense of the latter doctrine is his greatest title to honor.

His writings show such depth and clarity that the Greeks called him the “seal of the fathers.” He died in 444 A.D., after having been bishop for thirty-two years. In Rome, the basilica of St. Mary Major stands as a most venerable monument to the honor paid Mary at the Council of Ephesus. On the arch leading into the sanctuary important incidents in the lives of Jesus and Mary are depicted in mosaic.

In 1881, he was declared a Doctor of the Church by Pope Leo XIII, and in 1944, on the fifteenth centenary of Cyril’s death, Pope Pius XII issued his encyclical Orientalis Ecclesiae, commemorating Cyril’s place in the history of the Church.

Israel Update:
There is a shift in the Trump Administration against Israel. You can see my Rumble channel for exact quotations.  The latest is Trump express his agreement to sell Turkey the F35 jets.  Turkey is a major enemy of Israel and this is a very important strategic asset.  This will have to pass some congressional approval.

~MB Ghalibaf – Chairman of the Parliament of Iran and the lead negotiator posted:
“America falsely claims our unfrozen assets, will buy their agriculture. Interesting.

But you called them “rational”, “moderates”.  The man was behind the murder of tens of thousands of Iranians.  He is a “murderer” and should be treated as such.  Did Vance mislead Trump and persuade him that he is “making peace with moderates”? Told him that the money will go for US agriculture?   Trump said so.

VP Vance met the Iranians in Switzerland where the Iranians wouldn’t even shake hands. 
He agrees to lift off frozen Iranian money.  For sure 6 billions but in Iran they are talking about 16-25 billions.  The final number is not published.  Vance has been very secretive about his dealings all along.  
He claimed that the leaks of the MOU were fake and it turned out to be exact.  
He is claiming a “major win of their agreement to let in nuclear inspectors”.  

But we had inspectors with Obama and Obama gave them 1.7 billions and Trump wouldn’t stop criticizing it.  
You really think that you can control what they will do with the money?  You know that Hezbollah had delays with their salaries?   The money comes from Iran.  

~The sanctions on oil sales were lifted.  For now for 60 days.  More billions of dollars for the killers of Iran.  

~Iran in an official statement : “We will not enable the nuclear Inspectors to the nuclear sites that were damaged, and we will do with the unfrozen money whatever we want.  

~I said that the MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) is paving the way for tolls.  Hundreds of billions of dollars over time. But Vance and Trump said not so.  It says that “The first 60 days are when they work out the arrangements together with Oman”.  So Trump denies it and say “they don’t take trolls”.  But they are working out the arrangements per the MOU.  They are very clear about their intent.  The Strait of Hormuz was handed over to them.  You can see my videos.  They are in full control of who goes there and when and where.  And they turned a few back and attacked one.  

So the U.S. bombed some targets, it’s really symbolic not effective bombings to deter them.  
So today they attacked another ship. 

Iran is not performing the most basic of the agreement that is, to open the Starts of Hormuz.  
Yet it received so much concessions.  

Vance misled Trump and he is now in a tight spot.  Wasn’t he a Democrat? Didn’t he call Trump “Hitler”? 
I will stop here but I have a lot more to say about him.  

~A major win for Israel.  And pay attention because this is Sec Rubio who led it.  
An agreement signed with Lebanon that 1, recognizes Israel for the first time in many decades.  
2. States that Israel stays in the Security buffer zone until Hezbollah is disarmed.   This pretty much means forever.  3.  The US is intending on investing in the Lebanese military to help them take over Lebanon.  Note that if they can overcome Hezbollah there will be peace with Israel.  This is why the MOU who declared ceasefire without our consent is wrong.  

In my opinion Marco Rubio is the hope of the RNC.  Not Vance.  If you take seriously the meaning of “blessing or cursing Israel” then what he is doing is very dangerous.  But in any case it is dangerous.  

~Hezbollah is calling to kill the Lebanese negotiators and President.  In the past we almost had peace with the Christian leadership and they killed the President.  

I am ending with a video.  If you followed me you know that overall I am positive about Netanyahu but he is not my favorite choice.  There is Minister Amichai Chikli in his government who is over the diaspora and anti antisemitism in his job.  He was a Special Forces Worrier and he is my favorite at the moment.  He is not a candidate but I wish he was.  

He has a message to the West and he expresses my views pretty well.  I think he is a man of truth and I recommend watching this short video.  At the end there is something about Israeli politics so you can skip the end.

Way back in Feb. I passed along Joe Bastardi’s long range forecast. As you have seen both May and June have turned out to have below average temps for us in the NE quadrant of the country. But now, as promised, God is turning up the thermostat big time. That heatwave in western Europe is coming here starting this week. Temps in the 90s or breaking 100 F will be relentless with high humidity will be the rule staring later this week. The 4th is likely to be a miserably hot one! Visitors to the Gettysburg battle field will get to experience temps and weather conditions very similar to what the soldiers fighting the battle experienced.

Sure is looking like the USMCA is going to expire. Canada is the only western country in recession while the US read GDP for the 1st quarter was revised up to 2.1% and there is no reason not to expect the 2nd quarter to be as good. Meanwhile Canadian GDP for the first quarter showed 0.0% growth after a declining GDP in 2025.

TDS has infected so many Canadians that they can’t see that their government sucks and it not working for them? It appears at this time there are nothing but hard times ahead if they don’t open their eyes to the reality.
