Thursday of the Eleventh Week in Ordinary Time
Today the Roman Martyrology commemorates Sts. Mark and Marcellianus (d. 286), twin brothers, and early Christian martyrs during the persecutions of Maximian Herculeus.
Sts. Mark & Marcellianus
Saint Marcus and Saint Marcellianus were twin brothers of an illustrious family in Rome, who had been converted to the Faith in their youth and were honorably married.
When Diocletian ascended the imperial throne in 284, the pagans raised persecutions; the brothers were then thrown into prison and condemned to be beheaded. Their friends obtained a delay of the execution for thirty days, that they might prevail on them to worship the false gods. Tranquillinus and Martia, their afflicted pagan parents, accompanied by their sons’ wives and their little babes, endeavored to move them by the most tender entreaties and tears. But Saint Sebastian, an officer of the emperor’s household, arriving in Rome soon after their confinement, daily visited and encouraged them.
The issue of the conferences was the happy conversion of the father, mother, and wives, also of Nicostratus, the public stenographer, and soon afterwards of Chromatius, the judge, who set the Saints at liberty and abdicating the magistracy, retired into the country. Marcus and Marcellianus were concealed by a Christian officer of the imperial household, in his apartments in the palace, but they were betrayed by an apostate and reimprisoned. Fabian, a judge who had succeeded Chromatius, condemned them to be bound to two pillars, their feet nailed to them. In this posture they remained a day and a night, and on the following day were stabbed with lances. Their martyrdom occurred in the year 286. Their tomb and that of their father, Saint Tranquillinus, was found in Rome, in 1782, in the church of Saint Cosmas and Saint Damian, adjoining that of the martyred pope, Saint Felix II. They are honored particularly in Spain, where the city of Badajoz escaped destruction by their intercession.
Reflection: Virtue is often false, and in it the true metal is not to be distinguished from dross until persecution has applied the touchstone, and proved the temper. We know not what we are till we have been tried. It costs nothing to say we love God above all things, and to show the courage of martyrs at a distance from the danger; but that love is sincere which has stood the proof. “Persecution shows who is a hireling, and who a true pastor,” says St. Bernard.
The persecutors “know not what they do”. God, the perfect Judge, will work out all things according to His good pleasure. May we rest in His strength.
Israel Update
I have been off for a while, waiting to see the actual outcome.
If you can’t hear criticism, I suggest you move on. This is not going to be an “I love Trump” speech. You should also know that this reflects the main sentiment that is widespread in Israel, and what follows is actually a relatively mild version of it.
I have never tried to be popular in my updates, so take it or leave it.
It is biblical. It was written. We are now on our own, hopefully with God.
The official text of the U.S.–Iran deal:
According to the confirmed agreement, the United States and the Islamic Republic of Iran agree on the following:
Analysis of the points that are not self-explanatory. The numbers below correspond to the numbers above.
~1. The United States is effectively signing that Israel will stop attacks on Hezbollah and allow it to rearm and rebuild. This is a terror organization whose stated purpose is the destruction of Israel.
Israel is expected to surrender its freedom of action and security needs. Hezbollah receives American protection. Any future Israeli action against Hezbollah could trigger Iranian retaliation and place Washington on the opposite side of Israel.
If Netanyahu agrees, he risks losing the next election and strengthening the Israeli left. If he refuses, he risks a direct clash with Trump. He has already pushed back.
After October 7, Israelis are unwilling to return to a formula of “quiet for quiet” with terrorist organizations. We are heading toward a collision with the United States, one that Iran will push for.
Iran appears more loyal to Hezbollah than the United States is to Israel. This also destroys much of the remaining hope that Lebanon’s Christians will ever be free from Hezbollah and able to make peace with Israel. Hezbollah emerges stronger.
There are also reports from credible sources that Trump wants Israel to withdraw from the security buffer zone it established in southern Lebanon. So far, Israel has resisted. If Netanyahu capitulates, he may lose the election and cause the rise of a left-wing government.
~3. The concessions are already given, yet there is still no final nuclear agreement.
Trump is now accepting Iran’s right to maintain low-level enrichment, which means Iran retains the capability and infrastructure to reverse course whenever it chooses. The highly enriched uranium remains subject to future negotiations.
The issue of long-range ballistic missiles, which is as an existential threat, has effectively been set aside. A massive number of missiles is as bad as nuclear weapons. Small Israel can’t sustain thousands of missiles fired at its cities and sensitive infrastructure. Iran’s support for terrorist organizations surrounding Israel has also been left untouched. Basically the US is OK on the disaster that Israel may have to deal with.
The head of the IRGC has already declared Iran’s intention to rebuild Hezbollah and Hamas and has openly proclaimed that the “Axis of Resistance” won the war.
There are celebrations in Iran, Hezbollah circles, and among Israel’s enemies.
There is no mention of the Iranian freedom seeking people or those fighting the regime from within. Iran carried out another execution only days ago, and Washington remained silent.
~6. This is a rebranding of tolls.
The language now refers to “service charges,” but before the war there were no such charges. Depending on the structure, this could generate millions or even tens of millions of dollars per day, eventually amounting to hundreds of billions.
It would allow Iran to become wealthy again.
~7. Vice President Vance stated that this would not necessarily involve American money and suggested Gulf State investment as an example.
The Gulf States do not trust Iran. The idea that they would voluntarily pour hundreds of billions into Iran is difficult to believe. If it happens, it would amount to a massive enrichment of the regime. They may invest as a form of protection money – a bribe.
~8. The removal of sanctions represents access to hundreds of billions of dollars.
Iran will once again be free to sell oil and conduct international business. It possesses some of the largest oil fields in the world.
This money will not remain idle. It will be used to fund Hamas, Hezbollah, and other proxies, expand weapons production and exports, and build thousands of long-range ballistic missiles.
Iran could potentially return to weapons-grade enrichment within a week to a few.
Imagine Nazi Germany receiving hundreds of billions of dollars, international legitimacy, and economic normalization just before defeat. Iran’s declared goal remains the destruction of Israel we see it as a Nazi goal.
Iran emerges from this agreement stronger, wealthier, and internationally rehabilitated.
This is a major strategic victory for the Iran-Russia-China-North Korea axis.
Israel is losing its status as the dominant regional power after being abandoned by its principal ally, while Iran and its allies are rising.
The Gulf States have learned that the United States will not effectively protect them. As a result, they may increasingly incline toward Iran, Russia, and China.
I am also hearing voices in Israel arguing that dependence on Washington should be reduced and alternative partnerships explored.
Trump recently appeared alongside the ruler of Qatar, praising the relationship and declaring that they would always be friends.
Qatar is the financial center of the Muslim Brotherhood, a major source of anti-Israel influence, and the owner of Al Jazeera. It is also vastly invested in US universities and the subversion of students against the USA not to mention Israel. The wave of Hamas support after 10/7 was not organic or natural.
The irony is difficult to miss: the Qatari Air Force One gift to Trump has reportedly just completed and may be used for travel to Switzerland, where the agreement is expected to be signed in a Qatari-owned hotel.
~9. Like the Obama agreement, Iran is permitted to enrich uranium under supervision.
Trump has now publicly stated that low-level enrichment is acceptable.
Iran’s pledge not to pursue nuclear weapons already existed under previous agreements. The difference is that this arrangement dramatically strengthens Iran economically.
~11. Another mechanism allowing Iran to generate hundreds of billions of dollars through oil exports and related commerce.
~12. More billions of dollars.
The immediate amount is reportedly around $26 billion.
Obama released approximately $1.7 billion in cash. In this case, the funds are largely Iranian assets already held abroad, but the result is the same: a significant financial windfall for Tehran.
~14. UN approval would further institutionalize the agreement and make future Israeli military action against Iran or Hezbollah politically and diplomatically more difficult.
It creates an additional layer of international protection.
To make matters worse, Vice President Vance recently appeared with Megyn Kelly and used investment in Iranian nuclear facilities as an example of why sanctions should be lifted. The clip is available on my Rumble channel.
Trump has also described the Iranian regime as “rational” despite its stated goal of eliminating Israel and despite the enormous human cost of the recent conflict. That clip is also on my channel.
He further criticized Netanyahu and Israel’s conduct in Lebanon, suggesting that Syria’s new leadership would handle matters more effectively and with greater precision.
This is despite the fact that Israel routinely issues evacuation warnings before strikes, while Syrian forces contain many former ISIS and Al-Qaeda members and have been linked to massacres against minorities, including recent incidents.
I have nothing more to add.
My apologies for the gloomy update, but it is what it is.
The only variable here is the accuracy of the text itself. Trump and Vance have publicly confirmed many of these positions in interviews and public statements.
Everything is now in God’s hands.
Our sons and grandsons will pay the price.
There will also be a price for America and for Trump. That is not a prophecy, only my opinion.

Yesterday an IDF soldier killed in Lebanon and a few injured. Israel is not permitted to act at the power centers of Hezbollah in Beirut. Now I am hearing of another very serious incident in Lebanon. They are on the attack and IDF soldiers are getting killed while Iran is satisfied to see Israel may respond and collide with Trump. The incident is still not published. Israeli public are furious. We see their faces.

Iran is expecting another surrender on this too. Trump has already signaled that he is willing to give up on it and maybe just agree for dilute the uranium in Iran.

This document, assuming the details are correct, carries the first step bare bones of something which has yet to be determined. But at this point, like you, I am not sanguine or encouraged. To be completely frank, I have nothing to offer you except to say I am both disturbed and surprised in equal measures.
My gut feeling is that President Trump for some reason doesn’t understand the nature of the enemy he has pitted himself against with noblest intentions. An enemy…Israel’s mortal enemy…for whom life means nothing. Not theirs, not the people under their brutal, barbaric rule, no one’s. When in a hole with their backs against the wall, they withdraw, regroup, prevaricate, and restrengthen. They will never submit. We can’t know how this will progress, or not. In truth, there is much going on which perplexes me…but one thing stands certain and immutable, David.

Yes. God is the answer at this moment in time.
• He gave up on getting the uranium out of Iran.
•He gave up on zero enrichment like Obama and they will accelerate when he is gone or before.
• He calls upon the UN to supervise diluting the enriched uranium when no one knows how much and where all is and if they will be honest about it.
• He gave up on dismantling Hezbollah and is complaining about Israel.
• He gave up on dismantling the Missile Program that endangers both Europe and the US.
• He gave up disconnecting the proxies from Iran and the opposite, he gave Lebanon to Hezbollah and Iran.
• He gave up on helping the Iranian freedom fighters.
• From a maximum pressure to a maximum support.
• He is trying to retreat Israel from its buffer zones.
And there is more. This is so dramatic. I am worried more about Trump and America than Israel.
David, I share Betsy’s concerns. It seems that the average impetus for this, was the oppression of the Iranian people. Within a very short time, their problems were shoved into the background as the focus became energy and oil. I have heard that the average Iranian is still being horrendously opperssed.

This MOU is a basic framework for a future agreement. I am not putting too much emphasis on any one part of this memorandum. It is simply a starting point.
President Trump may not feel the pain, anguish and total uncertainty of the Israeli on the ground. His thoughts are that of a leader trying to move mountains. And move them he has, but one can believe,,, not without Gods hand in all of this. Prayers, patience, and our faith in God will get all of us through this great set of uncertainties. David, this whole situation is very disturbing. Also it’s impossible to discern if PDJT is being misdirected or outright lied to by people on his team.
I do know God is on Israel’s and America’s side in all things. It is not yet the very end of times.
The other truth I’m very aware may be in play here is that – things are not always as they appear to be. There’s definitely a chance this may apply to this current mess.
That’s my prayer, along with prayers that action will take place soon that will show this to be the case.

Israel is too dependent upon the US in weapons and munitions and mainly in the UN.
If the UN decides against Israel and the US doesn’t veto then Israel is subjected to International sanctions and isolation. This is how Biden stoped our advance in Lebanon a couple of years ago he was going to allow a UN resolution that forces Israel out.

I can’t read it all as it is for subscribers, but from what I can read this is obviously written by a supporter of terrorism because he calls Hezbollah a “paramilitary and political organization”. This is a “terror organization” by any criteria and they have the blood of hundreds of American Service men on their hands.
It is also saying that “Israel is attacking Lebanon”. Israel is not attacking Lebanon. It is attacking Hezbollah and the Lebanese government is in negotiations with Israel and quietly are thankful for Israel and hopeful that it will help them to disarm Hezbollha and regain sovereignty. Specifically the Christian of Lebanon are wishing to normalize relations with Israel.
It is true that a few thousands Lebanese were killed in this round. Most of them are Hezbollah terrorists and sometimes along with their families.
Israel gives evacuation orders which is why many displaced.
South Lebanon villages by Israel were mostly Hezbollah strongholds, whole towns are organized to attack Israel. Israel has created a 10 KM security zone and flattened those villages. The Christian villages who are not Hezbollah were almost not touched.
You had to see. We just uncovered tunnel and underground base the size of a football stadium all designed to perform the next 10/7.
Right after 10/7 hundreds of Hezbollah fighters moved towards the Israeli border and used the villages waiting to attack and conquer the North of Israel. This is why the IDF escalated the conflict.
The Shia citizens are all Hezbollah families and Israel is under a policy of “you support terror against our civilians and hosted missiles and tunnels and weapons in your villages then there are no villages now”.
The number million in the article is exaggerated and relates to when we gave evacuation orders in Beirut. Not now.
Hezbollah and the Shia have murdered the Christian President decades ago, who was about to make peace with Israel. They are now threatening the current Christian President for negotiating with Israel. They have turned Lebanon to a failed nation.
The West has lost its concept of what is going on with Jihadists. Those who elect Nazis whose main goal is annihilation of another people, their homes, families, those who support and help them, should be happy they got evacuation orders. Nazi Germany and its people got no evacuation orders.

I know. I posted Trump. He said that it is killing civilians and therefore “Syria will do a better job”. The ex Al Qaeda terrorist Syrian Leader. The Syrian Millitary would not give evacuation orders they would just slaughter, rape and behead whole neighborhoods. I have been reluctant to post the atrocities committed by them. Hi’ya David and welcome back. It is always instructive to read your cogent analyses of geopolitics. Typically late to our Treeper conversations, I’m just now getting myself more deeply involved in this discussion.
Since I’m still absorbing things, I think I’ll abstain from further comment. I will, however, make a point that I have always been very aware of . . .
Most people don’t realize that Israel has for decades been a nuclear armed nation. That kind of weaponry exists for one purpose and Israel, like all other nuclear-armed nations has a right to defend itself.
Let us all hope and pray that time never comes.
Good to see you. I have to admit that I may have been too soon to comment. But the emotions are high and I had to unload. Hopefully it is not as bad as I think.

I must have missed the part where Iran sets up a fund for all of our soldiers and their families maimed or killed by their bombs.
In addition I have qualms about the ‘dust’.
1) we do not know how much they have.
2) it will take them a year, possible two to uncover it (some could be removed).
3) the very labs we once sought to destroy will be needed to down-blend, so we help in their reconstruction perhaps taking another year or two and leaving them with the ability to up-blend.
4) the Iranians will be left with the materials to up-blend.

Note: These are not mutually exclusive.
Let me remind you again. The Kingdom of Jerusalem controlled Jerusalem for less than 90 years. Next year will mark Israel’s 60th anniversary of gaining full control of Jerusalem. While they did have a second, shorter period of control of Jerusalem, said Kingdom was erased from the map of the mideast in less than 200 yrs.
That is the only prior example of a non-muslim country in Israel since the muslim conquest. Not a very promising outlook. Heck, Muslim countries don’t last long either. But they also don’t generate continuous jihad against them like the Kingdom of Jerusalem or Israel.
I think realistic criticism and doubt is important. But it can’t just go one way. Or else it stops being realistic.
I personally doubt Iran can ever fulfill any agreement. And I am also sure that should Iran ease off of its own jihad that some other country will take up jihad anew. Turkey? Qatar? who knows, but someone will. That has always happened in the past, so it is a good guide for the future.
I think Trump, with his Abraham Accords and war/negotiations with Iran, is on a Quixotic drive to break with the ugly reality of what I said above about jihad. And Israel’s chance of survival gets much much better with such a peace. (If it ever happens.)
As such, Israel’s current attempts to sabotage Trump are silly. And full of self harm. But not defending yourself is also self harm. And so too is declaring peace while letting your enemies rearm. But that last one is the Israeli standard way of solving wars.
Also, I have said this to others, but the minute you decide to negotiate, you are guaranteeing many of the things people criticize. Japan’s entire plan for WWII was to force a negotiation wherein they would keep power at home and keep most of their gains, and not be forced to pay for their crimes. Both the decisive battle and the attempts to make conquest too costly were attempts to force us to sue for peace. Suicide of forces defending islands to suicide of flights of youths, the goal was to kill enough Americans to force us to sue to stop the war.
Trump spoke about unconditional surrender, but he, and his supporters had no stomach to invade Iran to force it. We aren’t bloodthirsty neocons. Thus negotiations must take place. With all the negative effects that entails. So many complaints deny this reality.
So it behooves us to be watchdogs but not impediments. Can we prevent this from being a Vietnam type abandonment? Can we prevent it from being trampled like Versailles? Can we help it move us closer to Trump’s dream of a peace for the region? Act like an impediment and you are moving the needle to trampling and abandonment. Guaranteeing the thing you fear.
I don’t know that we can achieve Trump’s peace. Nor that we can avoid your worst fears. But we can help move the needle to good. Or we can help move the needle to your worst fears.
So I appreciate Good, Honest, Realistic criticism.
Unfortunately, those terms get swallowed up and destroyed by political machinations. In both of our countries. People on both sides of our leaders pushing their biases as facts, intending harms instead of help. Well, at least we haven’t gotten to Anglophile or EU levels of totalitarianism and suppression of opposing viewpoints, yet.
So keep pointing out the flaws, the blindnesses, the untrustable nature of the other side. We can use that constructively or defensively. But please be careful against using it as justification for continued hostility in other countries, or to abort whatever good Trump is trying to achieve.

I noticed a few points:
1. An echo chamber. Your opinions and data are based on one echo chamber such as Tucker and Sundance.
While overall I like Sundance, he does routinely portray Israel as bad intentioned.
We are not bad intentioned. We are fighting for our survival. The happiest day that I remember in my 62 years of life nationally was the day of the peace treaty with Egypt. We have our sons, grandsons, neighbors, fathers going to wars.
It is ugly and horrendous. We do not desire it. We gave Egypt a land that is almost the size of Israel for peace. We offered the Palestinians 98% of the West Bank and East Jerusalem and they declined. Their desire is to annihilate us.
Israel did not try to sabotage the deal but looking at it now maybe it should have. I know that in the echo chamber the strike on Beirut was a sabotage attempt. What you don’t see is that it was a response to three drone attacks on North Israel. It was very measured. If there was a desire to sabotage it would not have been a single measured strike that by the way was on a terrorist that had American blood on his hands. Our soldiers are fighting in Lebanon to secure a security zone at the border and are to a degree exposed due to “trying not to sabotage the deal and avoiding Beirut most of the time”. We had some 20 killed soldiers because of restraint for that reason.
2. You and MAGA are correctly mentioning Iraq and Afghanistan as the traumatic events that now shape your anti war ideology. While I agree that those wars were a mistake you remind me of someone who had a bad marriage and now considers any marriage a mistake. I am not saying that the US should have done a ground invasion or shouldn’t.
I am saying that projecting unwillingness to fight is being observed by China, Iran, Russia, North Korea and can lead to bold actions on their side such as a Chinese invasion to Taiwan.
3. What do I suggest considering the circumstances? Churchill said: “You were given the choice between war and dishonor. You choose dishonor and you will have war. “
There are many things that could have be done. None of them should have been a surrender treaty that throws the ally who fought side by side under the bus. And it is under the bus. There is consensus about it in Israel left right and center. In the echo chamber you don’t hear what the Iranians are saying. They are anything but peaceful. They are laughing at America. Bragging how they got it on its knees. Talking about rearming Hezbollah and Hamas. Etc.
For example you could have used Israel to do the dirty work if you really want to avoid confrontation. Or a massive arming of the opposition of Iran. Please don’t throw at me another slogan about “Regime change” , I wish someone was doing a regime change in Nazi Germany and saved my family who was murdered in the gas chambers. Iran is openly declaring and working to annihilate us. We don’t share a border. We actually like the Iranian people. We don’t choose those wars.
4. As to religion. I claim nothing. I only observe certain prophesies in action. I also know the history of those who harmed Israel. The whole conflict is religious. The Muslims do not accept a single Jewish State.
5. I am not sure what you said about Jerusalem. My English. But Jerusalem was under Jewish control from 1000BC-586BC. Kingdom of David about 400 years.
The second Temple period was 538BC – 63 BC. 66-70AD -132AD during the Revolt against the Romans.
Then there is the current period.

I always get details mixed up.
I think of the Kingdom of David as lasting until the two kingdoms split. David and Solomon.
The lineage of David controlled Judah, Jerusalem and Solomon’s Temple.
I am fuzzy about who ruled Israel.
Much later, Israel was conquered and lost.
Judah survived a little longer until Babylon brought them to captivity.
Afterwards Persia freed Judah, so a second temple was built.
But mostly Judah was a subjugated state until the Macabees. Ruled by Babylon, Persia, Ptolomies and Seleucids in turn. But Macabees didn’t last. Eventually it was ruled by Romans until the first futile revolt when the Temple was destroyed. Utterly destroyed and replaced with Roman temples.
I don’t think the second futile revolt under Bar Kochba can be included in the second Temple Period. The Temple is gone, did they try to rebuild it? But that revolt is definitely a before vs after marker for significant changes. More so than the first revolt. It also got Rome to order the penalty of death upon any Jew found in Jerusalem. (Someone once said Jerusalem was always occupied by Jews. Not after Bar Kochba.)
And I have question’s about Herod’s changes? How does that still qualify as the Second Temple and not the third?
Jerusalem came to be controlled by Christians under Rome, continuing as the Eastern Roman Empire became Byzantium.
But muslims declared it holy because of some damn dream and conquered Jerusalem relatively quickly. Since then, while there have been many muslim countries controlling Jerusalem, there have been two non-muslim countries to do so.
In the first Crusade, Jerusalem was retaken and a Christian Kingdom of Jerusalem was set up.

America has had a pretty bad run of wars since WWII. We fought China to a draw in N. Korea. We forced N. Vietnam to end that war, but we quickly abandoned S. Vietnam to the North. Frankly, if any other country wants to oppose the big guys, the resistance to the big guy will never end. Iran and Syria opposed us in Iraq. And American troops will needlessly suffer.

But Israel isn’t willing to put Iran or her proxies out of business. In your terms, Israel doesn’t do dirty business.

I don’t think Israel has the right to complain about how Trump does that. Nor do I think Israel has the right to complain if Trump’s efforts fail.
And Israel will be the biggest beneficiary if Trump’s efforts succeed.
What I expect from Israel is gratitude for Trump trying to solve a problem that Israel can’t solve, but usually doesn’t even try.

I have over a decade in the legal profession myself.
I tend to cut people whose Second Language is English a lot of slack when reading or listening to really understand their meaning and intention; just as I did with all the brilliant (yet imperfect) attorneys and other legal staff whose Native Tongue was English.
Some items of the MoU are being implemented already (like taking down the Blockade, etc) so it even looks like a Deal is underway.
Also, Hebrew has fewer words than English I recently learned. So, one word can have several meanings I believe. Therefore, culture plays a role.
Although there are exceptions that I know of, such as Soul and God, which each have several or more Hebrew words to describe different aspects of each.

Interesting perspective. Guess what..I’ve studied Hebrew. When I joined a group going to Israel in 2008, I became good friends with the tour leader. She was a Messianic Jew. In her youth, she did aliyah and even served in the IDF. Our trip was half tourism and half humanitarian efforts, taking stuffed animals to ALL the children in the cancer ward of Schneider’s Children Hospital, and other such things.
Thereafter, my friend created a foundation to raise money. Many women, including me, make quilts which are given to the holocaust survivors in a home in Haifa. Sadly, the survivors have nothing and the quilts are all they own. During Covid, when everyone was throw on Zoom and I asked my friend to teach a bunch of us something. She attempted to teach us Hebrew! Yes, Hebrew has fewer words. It’s more of a pictorial language. In our few lessons, none of us made much progress, but I have studied German, French, and Latin. Never would I attempt to base any important fundamental issues, much less put forth a public argument to influence others, if I wasn’t highly proficient in the second, including a though explanation of the legal aspects of the underlying premise. David is to smart. If he lets his emotions get the best of him, he will not be capable of understanding the very basics of what’s happening. It’s very sad.
Israel is fighting for its life. There is a different way to fight wars. President Trump has proved it, starting with the Maduro Mission. Get the target. In/out. Killing Solimini. It doesn’t take a forever war anymore. We have Smart Watches. We need Smart Wars. Of all countries, I would have thought IDF would know this after Mossad found the WWII holocaust criminals in Argentina, etc. Snatch & grab the target. Get out. It makes sense when Trump said if you see hezbollah go into a building, the who building doesn’t have to be bombed. There are innocent people there too. War can make for warped decisions. Remember when PM Sharon kicked Israelis out of Gaza? How’d that work out? My 2008 Israeli guide said: Israel giving God’s land to God’s enemies.
But to your point, do you personally know if David speaks Hebrew? Many Israelis don’t. My friend’s MJ husband is a rabbi. I often watch his Friday Sabbath sermon, with his Torah, and the rest with our English Bibles. He headed up the project of a new Bible translation and was fortunate to get the top linguistics to oversee the Hebrew. She was not Jewish, but is so highly regarded that the Hebrew Univ. hired her to teach Hebrew to Rabbis. So, does our friend speak Hebrew?
Certainly we give people a pass in many things, but it is not appropriate to do so in this instance when the person lack the basic understanding of an MOU and henceforth drawing inaccurate conclusions due to lack of knowledge and it doesn’t take a legal career to research legal terms. One has to be careful to not while trying to influence people to be misdirecting them due to lack of understanding. I base my belief not only one my professional training, but my faith and knowledge pf God’s Word, Rev. 22:18-19 and corresponding Old Testament/Hebrew Bible verses Deut. 4:2; 12:32.
I subscribe to David’s Rumble channel and receive his emails. I saw this vid. Totally agree that Israel, when I was there in 2008, left me with the same impression that they live for the day. I even read a poll once (long ago) that Israelis smile the most compared to other countries. Have you seen the tons of visitors to the USA World Cup matches who are posting vids about how the media has lied to them about America, particularly how hospitable they are. So many Brits are posting these videos.
Although I am a Gentile (Christian) God gave me a deep love and passion for the Jews many, many decades ago and to intensely study the Old Testament. I even teach O.T. This year it was Ezekiel, Daniel, Ezra, Ester, Haggai, Zechariah & Nehemiah all about the Jews exile from the Southern Kingdom to the ultimate return in 3 waves. Although not a Jew by birth or conversion, years ago in a call with my friend, I blurted out that my g-grandmother was a Cohen whose hugh family immigrated from Germany to Canada after WWI. My friend went crazy! She told me what tribe I belonged to (Do you know which one it would be—-Levi!) and if I had the proper documentation it could be submitted to the authorities to verify. I already have the written and verbal family antidotal witnessing so I don’t need humans to verify it.
I tell you all of this bc I love Israel, Israelis & Hebrew Bible. I highly respect David’s prior posts, so much so that this one needed to be addressed. I rambled on so you would clearly know where my heart lies. Please listen to the last 3 minutes of VP Vance’s press conference today posted here by Sundance. I hope Israel isn’t shooting itself in the foot. I have rambled on but it’s bc I can talk about all-things Israel with heartfelt love.

I spent a year in Israel July 1973 – July 74, which was when I was 19-20 and David was about 10. The Yom Kippur War happened while I was there. It was the most important year of my life by far.
Yes, Hebrew absolutely is David’s Native Tongue. As you know, Hebrew is written and read in the opposite direction from English and is different from English in nearly every way.
I’m very grateful for David’s time, efforts, and friendship here. His knowledge and wisdom are deep and wide.

He lived his whole life under a 5th wheel: rain, heat, cold, even flooding. We asked his “parents” several times if we could bring him home with us – no dice. Even sneaked medicine to him tucked into a treat, as he came every day to greet us at the fence line. One day they moved, and left him. 😢

I was in a swim class at the comm. college, about 20 yrs ago. I always talked with a WWII vet. He told me he saw vera lynn perform at a soldiers’ event one time.
How cool is that. What a comforting thing for our boys to have those performers come from back home to help their morale.

Morning Soaz. I would go with my dad to his VFW, Fleet Reserves, etc. functions and dance with him to the WWII band, era songs. He was not much of a singer but he could dance! I did the singing. One of my favorites was “Begin the Beguine.”

Brittany spaniel, not a Springer. Brits are a bit smaller, more square (more equal height and length) and point birds. Springers are longer and heavier and flush birds. Both are great hunters and companions and full of energy.

There was a novice golden who, half way thru his course, sat down, scratched an itch, got up and noticed his tail…and proceed to ‘chase’ it…then ‘caught’ it…and stood for a few minutes, holding it in his mouth…

But down in southern Indiana they apparently had several tornadoes, including two south of Martinsville that showed debris up to 26,000 ft. Those may have been EF-4 tornadoes.
A tornado ran through part of Florence , KY and that is a very populated area.
Already have everything back where it belongs. Flags will be going up also.

Concerning the Iran deal. It boils down to this for me.

We all know that Iran will not adhere to the conditions of any deal and I suspect that after the midterm elections here the hammer is going to be right back falling towards their heads.
Right now gas and diesel prices are falling. Trump must get the prices of groceries and the other things people commonly buy down to hold congressional majorities.
I sure hope you are right–he’s on a tightrope dealing with the devil.

COMMENTARY 2 CORINTHIANS 3:18
The preference of the gospel to the law given by Moses. (1-11) The preaching of the apostle was suitable to the excellency and evidence of the gospel, through the power of the Holy Ghost. (12-18)
12-18 It is the duty of the ministers of the gospel to use great plainness, or clearness, of speech. The Old Testament believers had only cloudy and passing glimpses of that glorious Saviour, and unbelievers looked no further than to the outward institution. But the great precepts of the gospel, believe, love, obey, are truths stated as clearly as possible. And the whole doctrine of Christ crucified, is made as plain as human language can make it. Those who lived under the law, had a veil upon their hearts. This veil is taken away by the doctrines of the Bible about Christ. When any person is converted to God, then the veil of ignorance is taken away. The condition of those who enjoy and believe the gospel is happy, for the heart is set at liberty to run the ways of God’s commandments. They have light, and with open face they behold the glory of the Lord. Christians should prize and improve these privileges. We should not rest contented without knowing the transforming power of the gospel, by the working of the Spirit, bringing us to seek to be like the temper and tendency of the glorious gospel of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, and into union with Him. We behold Christ, as in the glass of his word; and as the reflection from a mirror causes the face to shine, the faces of Christians shine also.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

No wonder everyone was thin in those days!
I couldn’t wait to get home from school to watch “American Bandstand.”
And, of course, “Rock Around the Clock” is a classic!
Soaz, I also could not wait to get home and watch “American Bandstand.” My father was stationed at Philadelphia Naval Yard and surprised his three daughters with autographed photos of Dick Clark. He had stopped by there and got them for us.
I could not wait to go on American Bandstand when I turned 16 but they moved to the West Coast the year I was to turn 16. I was heartbroken and was “madder than a wet hen”, I did not enjoy it near as much as when it was in Philadelphia, as the groups he would feature some times were local groups that stood on the corners of Philadelphia and in New Jersey harmonizing and locally born boys like Bobby Rydall (who lived in Wildwood. NJ), and the Four Seasons, and numerous ones I can’t remember at the moment. Brain freeze and Senior moment.
