Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

Memorial of St. Barnabas, Apostle
Today is the Memorial of St. Barnabas, Apostle, who was designated by the Holy Spirit to share the charge and mission of the twelve Apostles, is venerated by the Church as one of them. He played an important part in the first extension of Christianity outside the Jewish world. It was Barnabas who presented St. Paul to the other Apostles when, after his long retreat in Arabia, he came to Jerusalem for the first time after his conversion to submit for Peter’s approval the mission to the Gentiles entrusted to him by the Master Himself. Barnabas was Paul’s companion and helper on his first missionary journey and returned with him to Jerusalem, but left him when he set out on his second journey and went to Cyprus. The name of St. Barnabas is mentioned in the Canon of the Mass.
St. Barnabas
Strictly speaking, Barnabas was not an apostle, but the title has been bestowed upon him since very early times. His first name was Joseph; Barnabas (etymology: “son of consolation”) was a surname. He belonged to the tribe of Levi. He was a Hellenist, that is, a Jew who lived outside of Palestine and spoke the Greek tongue. Born in Cyprus, he embraced the faith soon after the death of Christ, becoming a member of the original Jerusalem community. His first noteworthy deed was to sell his belongings and place the money at the feet of the apostles.
It is to his lasting credit that he befriended the neo-convert Paul and introduced him to the apostles when everyone was still distrusting the former persecutor. More noteworthy still was his service to the universal Church by being the first to recognize Paul’s potential for the cause of Christ; it was Barnabas who brought him from Tarsus to teach at Antioch. The first missionary journey (about 45-48 A.D.) the two made together, and Barnabas seems to have been the leader, at least at the beginning (Acts 13-14). Barnabas’ appearance must have been dignified and impressive, otherwise the inhabitants of Lystra would not have regarded him as Jupiter.
He was present with Paul at the Council of Jerusalem (ca. 50). While they were preparing for the second missionary journey, there arose a difference of opinion regarding Mark; as a result each continued his labors separately. Barnabas went to Cyprus with Mark and thereafter is not referred to again in the Acts of the Apostles or in any other authentic source. From a remark in one of Paul’s letters we know that he lived from the work of his own hands (1 Cor. 9:5-6). The time and place of his death have not been recorded. It is claimed that his body was found at Salamina in 488 A.D. His name is mentioned in the Canon of the Mass since ancient times.
Howdy, Garrison 💕☕ I do love the cafe music.. Today I heard a presenter on our local classical station make reference to Sir Alastair Cooke who once said that he preferred the radio to television because the pictures were better.
This struck me very forcefully, as when we were in Wales I listened to the “wireless” quite a lot. British radio was excellent. And it was a joy to form those pictures, my own, in my head. Especially with music. Which is why I think I am partial to your cafes. Escape from a world which leaves us with too many pictures of its own we can’t avoid. So thank you, dear friend, for your faithfulness in posting not just these very enjoyable musical retreats, but for all the music which you work so hard to choose for our pleasure. And you need to know it 😘
And now, once again a few I’ve collected this week for our CURSDAY…
Good morning Betsy. My first Ahhhh this morning.
Love the story about Sweet.
My kitten, Baby McGee, lived 5 years after that diagnosis and a prognosis of 6 months.
Enjoy every day, Jesse. It’s obvious you’re a wonderful Dad.
Afternoon, Corny 💕 Every day a blessing. I’m sure it was your loving care, sis. No doubt about it.
That looks like a very peaceful place to be. I need this desperately.
It would suit you I think. Shut out the world. One cat, one dog…room for all 😌💕
Sweet dog will figure it out eventually. Smiling.
Even if you pointed, something tells me he’d still sit there 😉
😃 😀 😄
Never thought of an end run i guess!
This one tickled me 😁
Love this, Bet. When I was in grad school I could easily walk home to and from class. My route took me past a corner house on a large lot. The owner was an elderly retired Col. who apparently didn’t spend much time with his Sheppard yard companion. . . His dog was as friendly as could be but was obviously lonely. He was in the habit of dropping a tennis ball over his fence so passers by could play catch with him. Every afternoon I’d meet him at his fence, pick up his tennis ball and play a little catch with him. This was an afternoon routine for the year I was doing coursework for my MA. What an enjoyable memory! 🙂
Throwback Thursday…yes, there’s our dog with his friends. Lucky sailor and one Lauren Bacall…
Love this black and white photo. One of my favorites today.
Mornin’ Dear Pat.
There really is just something about black and white photos – and movies.
Maybe because we grew up with it, but also I think it makes you focus more clearly on the subject and emotion in pictures. ?
I can relate to this.
Ditto…I always gravitate to a dog 💕
Hi, Bets! This looks a lot like Giz. White with long grey ears and a few grey body markings.
If he barks at night it is because our resident ‘possum has returned to it’s lair under the back porch.
Morning, Truli 💕 ☕ Isn’t he sweet? Chillin’ after doing the job he thinks he’s supposed to do. How could anyone argue? 😂
We’ve got possums, God bless them. Not pretty to look at,, but my goodness they do have their purpose. I leave dry cat food and water for them every night just in case their diet might be lacking.
Betsy, I read in The Farmer’s Almanac, quite a few years ago about the possums. They really are an interesting animal and evidently intelligent. I save my almanacs so I’ll try to find the article and let you know which year it was in so you can look it up and read it.
I’ve grown rather fond of them, Pat. My understanding was that yes, they are intelligent creatures. They are tick eaters, and given the preponderance of them this year would be so beneficial in areas which are inundated with them 👍🏻
Bets, I’ve raised a few litters of them. They grow fast and are ready to go on their own in a few weeks once out of the pouch. Don’t live long. Even in captivity.
Sweet face, and yes, they will bark for no reason in the middle of the night! I had two so have up close and personal experience.
mostly
I have had my dog explode when he ate uneatable semi poisonous stuff, the clean up was horrendous, but the dog survived.
Oh thank goodness, Jake 🙏🏻
but STILL pets him… who can resist? Not me.
I laugh, Bets.
I never, ever go into a Walmart, but I spontaneously met a friend for breakfast and realized coming from the gym… I was gross and a fright to look at, so I popped into the next door Walmart to gather some freshen up cosmetics to make myself presentable.
When I walked in – there was a chocolate lab like this here one – who was holding a 5 gallon bucket. Because I am a softy – and any dog with a bucket who appears to be fundraising MUST be totally legit – I pulled out my wallet and said “What do we have here? What are you fundraising for and what a precious boy!” The owner – laughed and said – “No, no fundraising. He just likes to hold his bucket.” and we all – the four of us there – just laughed and laughed at how I, stupidly, would just hand out cash to a dog.
Sometimes I think I am just not a wise woman. If I had every dollar I donated – everything I gave in earnest to a cause – I would likely be in good shape myself – but though slight in funds – rich in Spirit.
To God be The Glory and thank You, Father, for dogs… and cats… and random wildlife pets. I have a Robin who has made her nest in my tree at my apartment. Bunnies who reside under the bush outside. Honored to have them around.
Morning JWoo! You are in good shape. ❤️Matthew 6:20
Love to you and your bride, M.
Oh my, Woo!!! 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂!!!
Methinks that perhaps the good Lord who knows all, sees all, gave you a gentle shove into that Walmart just so you’d see that sweet Lab with his bucket, then lose yourself in laughter. What splendid medicine laughter is!
You are certainly wise in my view, one of the wisest. Who can read what you write, your soul on the page, and not see it? As for your generous nature….what you give will surely come back to you a thousand fold, dear sis. I am the same. If I found myself suddenly with abundant funds, there would be charities (and individuals in need) who would find their coffers much fuller.
When I read of the eye watering wealth of some or the amounts poured into political campaigns, all I can think of is how much targeted good could those massive sums do? Don’t get me started…
Yes, thank you dearest loving Lord for creating the animals which give us so much comfort and company. And .make our too often heavy journeys lighter. Off now to serve breakfast to the wildlife here which have discovered that Chez Jones really is THE place to be in our neck of the woods 😘☕
Awww Bets… coming from you, the Matriarch of the Board, my gratitude with the warmest of hugs. Can’t wait for our neighborhood in Heaven. It’s going to be PAWsome.
And so many more hugs sent back to you, dearest friend….returned a thousand fold. See how that works?? 😉 💕
(One day…🙏🏻)
Good morning Woo. Glad to see you posting today. I continually pray for you and Savannah. Hugs and love coming your way long distance!
Thank you, Ms. Pat…. the not-so-brat. I posted an update on the Prayer Thread – a combo of seriousness, but a funny post too. Righteously pissed. Love you, keep praying.
Laughing with this one.
I guess, by the same token, you could walk a “drug dog” through the streets of LA and make a fortune. Good time to carry that bucket, Woo!
Mornin’ Dear Woo ❤️
Blessed day, Sister from another Mister. Check out the Prayer Thread. God Is working!
Morning, Dear Sis
I shall do that. I often read your heartwrenching posts and am taken back to similar experiences with my daughter so many years ago. It can still bring me to tears if I let it.
It is hard not to offer advice, because no two situations are the same. And…..you’ve probably had enough advice offered to choke upon.
I’m aware I am repeating myself, but, I want you to hold on to hope. I know your deep and abiding faith will ensure that, but….. my daughter is back in my life, in my arms, and freely expressing her love. It was a very rocky road, fraught with roadblocks. It has taken eons for me to fully trust – and to be honest, sometimes I am ever so slightly wary. Perhaps that will always be. But, I’m grateful and thankful for the relationship we have now. And it is my fervent wish you will someday write the same.
Love and prayers – Always
I appreciate and welcome any and all advice… because this is uncharted territory for me… and it is the foolish who don’t accept instruction.
Thank you for your sharing of the healing nature of time and the stories of your endurance with your daughter.
I need to hear hope and God’s miracles. There are others too… who need to hear of prodigal returns.
Love you, Sis.
Love you back – lots ❤️
I swear…people who think like this life in a different world I will never understand (and frankly do nott wish to).
Ok, Bets, I wanna see somebody put one on a cat.
And, is it anything like putting a cat in a post-hole?
I’ve heard that is pretty difficult. 😁😂😎
All is explained if you noticed from the poster where this is being offered.
The stupidest thing ever, sis. But the world is not short of cruel, stupid people.
I hate to even mention this – but I’ve heard of dogs being trained to attack human victims, so this gave me pause and shivers. The depravity of man – man indwelt by demons – is worse than we could ever imagine – so really best not to imagine it, dear friends.
There are some things that holy eyes should never look upon.
San Fran-sick-o – but sadly elsewhere, too.
Some, Woo? Lots…even most.
Hi, JWoo! Thinking of you and Savanna.
Dogs do get STDs.
I’ll try to put this delicately.
A friend who is a certified dog trainer has had some strange requests from adult women with large dogs.
No words to respond to this. Just look at where it is and that will suffice! Shaking my head in disgust!
A vicious pit bull, no wonder some people want to ban them:
Thanks Jake but I am glad I haven’t eaten much yet today as this would have given me an unpleasant nausea!
They literally manifest. Once you find a demon and you see it “show” itself – you don’t soon forget – nor do you fail to recognize the signs.
Ugly to the bone
I said elsewhere that I hope she’s seen these. If this were I, I would be shaken to my core. The cover of her Book of Life. It’s a gift to “see ourselves as others see us”, so that if we are honest, we can make “course adjustments” if necessary. For her sake, I hope she is and will.
I am laughing out loud with this one. I’ve got to find a ball like this for Beau.
Corgi alert!!!
My Piper was a red-headed tri.
My vet called her ‘Ol Pot-Head because as a puppy her head and body were disproportionate.
She was funny looking.
Grew into the most beautiful bitch my friend ever produced. And the only red-head.
Hahahahaaaa!!
Our Treehouse brother Colkitto loves Corgis and would post pictures of Tasha Tudor with hers in their lovely, simple garden where she always seemed to be.
(I haven’t seen him post for a few weeks, so unlike him. I hope he’s all right 🙏🏻💕)
I have several of her Corgiville books and a big TT ‘coffee table’ book.
Beautiful, busy artwork.
A lovely doorway to somewhere else when this world overwhelms. Mine is a portfolio sized collection of everything Norman Rockwell ever drew or published… lots of dogs in his works. When I spend time turning those pages, remembering the era now consigned to history which he so poignantly painted and artistically memorialized, it really is a job to shut the covers and return to this one.
Colkitto (hugs)
Yes ma’am…
Is that a Pembroke Welsh Corgi Puppy?
I think so 🤔 Don’t you love his face?? 😍
Jake, yes indeedy. Cardigans are larger and have more rounded ears set a lil further out.
Oh how can you not love this little dog. I’ve never had a Corgi, but knew people who did and they loved them fiercely.
PDQ – Prettty Damn Qute
Thank you for this translation to the Celtic pronunciation for these lovely dogs.
First lol of the day!! 😂
😂😂😂
The artist nailed it💯
This just made me laugh out loud. You’ve just got to love this little dog’s face!
Ha ha ha
Mo needs to feature this artist.
They got up close and personal to this photographer! Love it.
Laughing with this one!
Remember??
Yes. 😍 Also, how I became interested in dog training.
You’re so welcome, Truli…
The patience one .must have for that, which my lack of would have left me at the starting gate 😂☕
Bets, I was born lacking the patience gene but as dogs have short attention spans we can both last for 5-6mn as a time. Win win.
Lassie and Mr.Ed, favorites Betsy ❤️🤗
Thank you for the wonderful memories.
I remember it as if they had been yesterday, girl…
(Wasn’t it just yesterday?? 🤔..)
Sure seems like it, makes me happy and warm, those memories.
The good we are reminded of connect us for all eternity.
Thank you ❤️
Thanks Betsy for the memories. Seems like just yesterday doesn’t it?
I also remember that the dog in Hondo was a heavily made up Lassie.
Yes I do remember this well. Kinder and gentler times. Wanted a collie desperately after seeing this as a child.
looks like Timmy made it out of the well
What’s that you say, Lassie? Timmy is in a ditch about 1/4 mile from the train trestle down by the Baker’s ranch and needs me to come with a shovel?
If I remember right Lassie was two dogs, a big male for close ups and a smaller female that did all the tricks.
Another Ahhh moment. Love the face.
Sorry, was just unable to get the pic to post.
I surely (and sorely) need an IT assistant!
This little dog is not very happy about something. Look at that face! Laughing
Not sure if this dog is enjoying the wind in it’s face or barking at the passing vehicles. Dogs do love to hang their faces out of the car windows though.
I’d hate to be a backseat passenger 😂 Rainwear advised!
LOL I can’t say that I blame this mailman for avoiding this. Laughing, the axe carried by a German Shepherd, double trouble I would venture to guess!
Or Malinois? I couldn’t decide…
That’s a doggo with an axe to grind.
Hopefully not!! 😂
Perfect look. Bassett Hounds just have that wonderful, sorrowful face. My son had one and it adored the Grandkids and let them lay on him , love on him and hug him hard and he never once protested.
Thank you Betsy for your Cursday offerings today. I greatly needed these.
Liked all your caturday offerings, but needed to get away from the internet as it can be overwhelming with all the horrible, evil happening around us. I just pray constantly to get through a day. I do read TCTH articles but very rarely comment as there are no sufficient words to say and my “white hot anger” shows up and I have to detach myself from it.
I pray you and hubby have a most blessed and wonderful day.
I am with you, Pat. Not just me, then…there is a darkness which seems to be intensifying. So much so, I no longer recognize the country I grew up in, nor the one I spent so much of my adult life living contentedly in….nor the rest of the world.
Wise, dear sister to withdraw. Preserve your sanity and whatever peace you can hold on to. Not easy…💕🙏🏻
Mornin’ Dear Bets
I might be too late for this but:
Some cuppas from the puppas! ❤️
Never too late, dear Corny. Jack Russells speak to my heart always, and I truly thank you for this one. They are gorgeous! I’d adopt them all, even without coffee! 😂😍
I knew that. 😁
Afternoon, Bet love. I’m so very pleased to have discovered this coffee shop images. Whoever puts them up does us all a great favor by combining them with soft jazz. Yeah, the music is electronic . . . but who cares . . . ? The combination is perfect for late night/early morning communing. I’m so pleased that we can share similar moments of enjoyment with both the music and photos. Be well, dear Bet. Little ‘Tink sends along a soft afternoon purr. 🙂
Thank you, Garrison.. I enjoyed those two selections
Mornin’ Dear Garrison and Tink.
Finally got to sit down and enjoy this. It’s a literal zoo here ams. This morning it started at 5. Swore I’d never get up in the dark again after my retirement – but Needs Must. (Thanks, Bets.)
Love love love piano and bass. Thanks! ❤️
Second lol of the day!

John Wayne
(1907-1979)
American actor (Green Berets, True Grit), dies of stomach cancer at 72
Biography: An actor who became an American icon famous for his rugged masculinity and his demeanor, including his distinctive calm voice, walk, and height.
Star of the Green Berets, True Grit and many more movies Wayne dominated the box office for three decades.
Ok, so he watches singing….
A correction on the singing part. The Duke could sing if the right song came along.
Gotta leave a little room for the commentariat…
He should have quit those westerns & stuck with singing.
I’m sure he and Dean practiced quite a bit together on the Wild Goose yacht. Lots of card games and booze.
Magic, I read that Mr Wayne was a fan of rodeo rider and stuntman, Yakima Canutt and formed his western persona and iconic walk by observing Yak.
If you haven’t seen Yakima’s famous stagecoach stunt it is worth a look.
I’ve watched that on videos. Yakima was one of a kind.
I read a really good bio of JW (can’t remamber which one). He made a point of taking care of a lot of people who were out of work
Hi, John, and his favorite horse was a big chestnut Quarter Horse named Dollor. He rode Dollor in many movies. My fave is ‘The Cowboys’.
He also said, “Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway.”

patty, I really enjoyed this GV vid. Wonderful breed. Don’t see them much in my neck of the woods.
I had never seen one before. They are gorgeous but look like they would take quite a bit to keep them clean and pretty with those feathered feet! Their good temperment is really a draw. But then all horses are beautiful to me – some are just more beautiful than others.
patty, I think I’d take the clippers to them there foot feathers.
Another big movie star that could not sing but still had a hit.
And one more.
Carroll O’Connor actually had a really good voice .
Thanks,
I should probably add Mr O’Connor.
Edit:
He will be appearing soon too.
It would not surprise me if he started on stage.
I believe he did start out on stage.

Hey, Mo
I see my earlier post to you never showed. Ah well, maybe the second time is the charm.
I like Morisot. She employed some innovative techniques such as using various media on one piece – oils, pastels, and watercolors. Also leaving margins as blank canvas. She thought it enhanced her subject. It’s fun to look at her works. Thanks. ❤️

Of Pitbulls and Islamists
by Barbara Kay June 9, 2026
steynonline.com
“This is the first time in the history of human-animal relations that an actual ideological movement has formed,
not to promote the well-known virtues of a beloved breed, but to promote denial of a beloved breed’s well-known vices.
Pit Bulls…were bred to inflict pain on other animals, while ignoring pain inflicted on them.
And not much else.
They don’t obey rules when their high prey drive triggers their attack instinct.
Once they start, it’s difficult to make them stop.
They get high on their blood lust.
On the one hand, you have the dog fighters who would never use any other breed of dog,
because they freely acknowledge the special character of their “game” breed that makes them fight to the death –
a trait that can’t be taught or compelled in any other breed.
On the other hand, you have progressive intellectuals and their useful idiots who protest
Breed Specific Legislation because “all dogs bite”. (ed.: false.)
Now, thanks to an advocacy movement that is the canine world’s equivalent of the Muslim Brotherhood,
pit bulls are the most popular breed in the U.S.
In 2025, 64 of 84 North American dog-related killings (ed: FATAL attacks on humans by dogs)
were committed by pit bulls, 6% of the canine population.
Yet millions of dog owners believe they are good dogs that get a bad rap.
Islamism accounts for 80% of global terrorism.
Yet the narrative is that only a small number of Muslims are terrorists, and Islam –
the “religion of peace” – should not get a bad rap…
What else can the pit bull do about that baby who hit him on the nose with her rattle?
What else can Hamas do with Jews who won’t allow Israel to be dismantled?
They both had no choice but to murder those aggressive provocateurs.”
IMO, the PB issue is of neurologic origin – possibly paired with an unpredictability factor –
at the chromosomal level, expressed in one or more foundation dogs, then aggressively selected for
and amplified by intense inbreeding, and reinforced thru “training” – if you can call that “training”.
how do you ever know if the pit bull you’re taking home to your family has inherited those traits to the point of expression?
stories of the pb next door who lived to 20 years of age and never harmed a fly is NOT the point here –
it is the woke approach of apologizing for or minimizing an inherently brutal nature
and knowingly welcoming proven killers into your home…
like islam and 6% of the U.S. canine population.
p.s.: pb’s with cropped ears have fought – scars, especially head and neck scars, are a big clue.
consider that seriously before adopting.
dog fighters, here in illinois at least, are crossing pit bulls with cane corsos and dogo argentinos
in an effort to get an even bigger loaded weapon.
i think the breeding of all pit bulls and pit bull crosses should cease completely,
and the “breed” allowed to become extinct.
there are lots of lovely dogs out there, including some well established bully breeds,
without the time bomb genetics.
Zoom, did you ever hear of Michael Vick and his fighting Pit Bulls?
I’ve worked with dogs all of my life and would rather handle PBs all day than a single cocker spaniel.
Blood lines matter in dogs as well as humans.
Children and babies should never be left alone with any dog as children and babies make sounds and movements which resemble prey animals.
People are stupid and dogs are dogs.
Use common sense.
just to reiterate, the operative principle behind the article is
the purposeful, woke, desensitization/propagandizing of various dangers
to western civilization to the point of convincing people to ADVOCATE for more of those very dangers;
i.e.: of making perpetrators into victims and victims into perpetrators.
as to the mention of cocker spaniels, the full article is very precise for the general reader about the differences regarding a pit bull bite – the pb bite being far more dangerous and a predicate for full fledged attack.
Zoom, yes, pitties have much more powerful jaws but, in my experience, much less likely to bite humans.
As for your other subject, as I said, people are stupid.

Whoa, not liking this version.
And they adorned it with flags and betsy ross.
Horrible.
Original Words of the Pledge of Allegiance
The Pledge of Allegiance was originally written by Francis Bellamy in 1892. The initial version read:
Original Text
“I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”Evolution of the PledgeThe Pledge has undergone several changes since its inception. Below is a summary of its key revisions:
YearVersion
1892″I pledge allegiance to my Flag and the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
“1923-1924″I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.
“1954”I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.”
The most significant change occurred in 1954 when the phrase “under God” was added, reflecting the political climate of the time.

Soaz, I need this flag!
I know! I think they may have them or something similar on Etsy.
Found this one:
” all things are possible to him that believes.”
Change happens regardless. In Gods hand it becomes as all creation, a growing, miracle. Left to our ego, it becomes a dead end, a lifeless ambition of fear.
I know why our bodies deteriorate, I’m sure if we were perfect or righteous, as Jesus, we would not return to dust. I have experienced the light of the divine, life resides there. But, our spirit is of God not our bodies, so as our body dies our spirit has a chance to become closer to God. Oh, I’m sure there are many aspects to it but I see how it strains off the material world. The “change” given to God becomes a blessing. In pain we tend to focus more, what we focus on is our love. What separates us from the divine or brings us closer.
Another afternoon and evening of Ryan Hall being on air no doubt.

EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE
Verse of the Day for Thursday, June 11, 2026
✟
“Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my strength, and my redeemer.”
Psalms 19:14 (KJV)
COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 19:14
The glory of God’s works. (1-6) His holiness and grace as shown in his word. (7-10) Prayer for the benefit of them. (11-14)
1-6 The heavens so declare the glory of God, and proclaim his wisdom, power, and goodness, that all ungodly men are left without excuse. They speak themselves to be works of God’s hands; for they must have a Creator who is eternal, infinitely wise, powerful, and good.
7-10 The Holy Scripture is of much greater benefit to us than day or night, than the air we breathe, or the light of the sun. To recover man out of his fallen state, there is need of the word of God. The word translated “law,” may be rendered doctrine, and be understood as meaning all that teaches us true religion. The whole is perfect; its tendency is to convert or turn the soul from sin and the world, to God and holiness.
11-14 God’s word warns the wicked not to go on in his wicked way, and warns the righteous not to turn from his good way. There is a reward, not only after keeping, but in keeping God’s commandments. Religion makes our comforts sweet, and our crosses easy, life truly valuable, and death itself truly desirable. David not only desired to be pardoned and cleansed from the sins he had discovered and confessed, but from those he had forgotten or overlooked. All discoveries of sin made to us by the law, should drive us to the throne of grace, there to pray. His dependence was the same with that of every Christian who says, Surely in the Lord Jesus have I righteousness and strength. No prayer can be acceptable before God which is not offered in the strength of our Redeemer or Divine Kinsman, through Him who took our nature upon him, that he might redeem us unto God, and restore the long-lost inheritance. May our hearts be much affected with the excellence of the word of God; and much affected with the evil of sin, and the danger we are in of it, and the danger we are in by it.
Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.

SPEAK LIFE AND BLESSING
When we face challenges out of the blue
Our first instinct might be what went askew
We wonder what it was that caused the rift
Not recognizing what hit was a gift
We tend to take what occurs personally
Like some sort of punishment deservedly
When really it was nothing of the sort
Nor to the extent of fault to report
We have free will to make our choices
And that includes how we use our voices
We can rant and rave and complain why me
Or we can speak life and blessing to be
We are all prone to the seven deadly
We can speak out a tirade in medley
We can side with that demonic attack
Give negative thoughts credence right back
The effect of the weight we have laid down
Will surely defeat us cause us to drown
In a sea of self-pity barely function
Until we reach a decision junction
The difference between blessing and curse
Is the curse tends to make our plight much worse
It augments into a vicious cycle
We are less fruitful not at all vital
Speak life and blessing for each consequence
A positive outlook just makes more sense
It energizes God-given gifts in you
The Spirit inside comes alive when you do

HAVE A VERY BLESSED DAY !!! ❤️❤️❤️
Sharing an affinity to the Psalms and what they reveal about the character of King David, in which I’m certain, many of us find commonality through the up’s and down’s he endured (In many ways his life was not that different) – beautifully expressed through the Psalms. Anyway been listening to this guy of late and lo and behold this track came up. I think the King would/will enjoy it. 🙂
EKO Loves you .. today’s post
There’s a lot packed into this one.
“They Took The Phones Away”
https://ekolovesyou.com/p/the-man-who-named-the-thieves
The Neverending Story is a fantasy novel by German writer Michael Ende, published in 1979.
Painting by his father Edgar Ende
I do feel this way, Ms. Idaho. I feel phones weren’t removed from the schools to “concentrate on academics” but to remove the ability of the children to record the crimes committed against them within their concentration camp confines.
In this day and age, a child should have every opportunity to reach their parent – any time day or night – unfettered. For too long were parents hoodwinked into believing the school systems were safe.
Covid revealed that.
Plusses and minuses jWoo.
As I watch TV ads I am intrigued by the ever present visibility of iPhones. The ad isn’t about phones, but ‘normalizing’ the constant use and attention to a device.
This means one is not paying attention to the world and people around them. Which is what I believe EKO is writing about.
The question is – IMHO – how do we achieve a balance?
Keep the phones on the walls like we had when we were kids… and every other time be present in the moment?
From my experience, the retroactive pursuit is the most favorable because we need to rewind this pandora’s box.
My utopia.
