But, I think that Hegseth’s remarks were “balanced and fair.” He is right that these nations are not paying enough attention to “a completely new form of ‘invasion.'”
While of course he championed the role of “the United States” in the assaults upon those beaches, he carefully acknowledged that the soldiers of many other Allies also fought and died.
He artfully pointed out that the “Allies” in those days were fully committed, in manpower and in industrial resources. They carried their weight, as best they could. He then artfully pointed out, without directly saying so, that today those same “Allies” seem to have lost their footing . . .
That’s fair. It was a very good speech, appropriate for the somber occasion. And respectful of the Veterans in attendance. And, of the Dead, who were also there in spirit.

One difference (among several) between these two kinds of invasion is the role of religious institutions in the countries being invaded. Although there has been some controversy about whether it is right for individuals to take part in wars of defense, churches in invaded lands generally did not cheer the invaders on in previous, conventional wars.
That is, they have not until the today’s slippery invasions. For these invasions, churches and other religious groups in the countries being invaded have been at the forefront of welcoming the invaders. If it were not for their voices and work, it would not be nearly as easy for today’s invaders.
My take is that people who are members of churches and other groups that support today’s invaders have a responsiblity to speak up and to vote with their pocketbooks and their feet if their voices are not given attention.
I voted with my feet and left the church as it became more woke, talked the social justice crap and fully supported the illegal aliens from Somalia which took over a town outside of Atlanta all the while the vets and many others are homeless on the streets.
The church I grew up in is very much like you described. The one I moved to 25 years ago … much better.

Why is it closed? 30 years of lesbian and other freakish ministers, and the embrace of globohomo and the rest of the leftist agenda alienated every church member until there was but one left, and she in her late 90s. This church was established in the 1600s, and when I was growing up was a wonderful place with a large and happy congregation.

I was going to post about how the world record holder for laying eggs was a Black Australorp (brown eggs) but I checked first, and sure enough, that is old information. The world record holder is indeed a White Leghorn, 371 eggs in 364 days! Since the average time to make an egg in a chicken is 26 hours, they must be breeding to reduce that time. Wow!

How is it then that all the large and extra large eggs at Publix and Trader Joes in south Florida are light to dark brown? All of the white, commercially produced eggs are white.
I’m not sure I understand. Do the chickens have to stop laying them, or do people have to stop eating them? Do they eat the shells in Wales? Or does brown shell disposal cause climate apocalypse?
Side note, the largest climate apocalypse was caused by human behavior, and the only escape was an ark. The next even bigger one will have a similar cause.

Re: your 2nd paragraph dilemma. One solution is to contractually oblige any private entity(ies in partnerships) to be bonded and insured for such cases should they arise and also simply enforce laws on the books against such as harshly as warranted, this way the ins. co’s and bond holders go after the violators (and they would) and appropriate punishment is meted out justly. Few, if any would ever do such things as you say under this scenario.
Insurance companies could red-flag any violators worldwide so a violator would be known. Insurance companies would either refuse coverage or the premium would be cost-prohibitive on the violator turning them into a virtual pariah who must now exist in isolation. Violators would also forfeit their bonds.
It really isn’t as difficult to solve such dilemmas as is often supposed.
The absolute worst thing that can be done, various reasons, is continue to buy the lie that only the government can provide xyz.
Some of the institutions that I mentioned; i.e., the TVA, supply power to a large swath of the US south. It would be a national security threat for a country like China to take over an electrical grid in the US. But nor do I want some future administration to decide the south needs to be taught a lesson and they cut the power.

Carroll’s lawyers Kaplan Hecker & Fink received $7 million from a nonprofit tied to billionaire Reid Hoffman. He is a LinkedIn co-founder and major Democratic donor and tied to Epstein
In a 2022 deposition, Carroll testified under oath that no one was helping her financially with legal fees. She said no pro bono, no outside funding

In my view, the root solution lies in revisiting … “The Judicial Act of 1789.” Which was enacted by the very first Congress, to fulfill the obligations set to them by the just-enacted Constitution.
Article 3, Section 1, simply stated: “The judicial Power of the United States, shall be vested in one supreme Court, and in such inferior Courts as the Congress may from time to time ordain and establish.” Exactly one sentence.
The Judicial Act was their response to this. In it, the entire system of subordinate Courts was initially created. Because the Constitution created only one “Court,” then tossed the football.
This being said – Congress(!) now possesses the ultimate authority to revise what it(!) created. I submit that the present “Lawfare™ deficiencies to these rules” must now be addressed by Congress.
The SCOTUS must then abide. It “supremely” rules over the system, but did not create it.
