I read the other day that this was not as you are describing. Apparently, the law that NY was using was not legal and the federal law trumped it. NY has since repealed the law in question.
I tend to believe the OBE version (Overcome By Events) – somewhere else in the Judiciary system the issue has already been resolved to MAGAs satisfaction, rendering this case moot.

The point is you need to context for this one event you are calling attention to. Why? Because like most things in government the event (and the larger covid issue) are complex. Many different problems are intertwined, many players are involved with differing views and purpose, and a string of events over time change what is happening.
Your approach overly simplfies the event you call to attention to. Thus you fail to fully understand the bigger pciture. Read again some of the responses to your original comment.

That’s actually the complete opposite of what it says… According to Grok, the brief defends the idea that Title VII (federal religious accommodation law) generally takes precedence, but argues this specific case doesn’t present a clear conflict warranting Supreme Court review.

Aaron, I respect you so much that I actually went and READ the entire brief. You are not reporting it accurately. The Solicitor General specifically argued that any state law that actually barred all consideration of religious accommodations would be preempted by Title VII. That principle, if applied, would generally favor religious accommodation claimants (far more than 2nd Circuit rulings). This is 4D chess and protects religious liberty.

Wrong. It IS good because these petitioners have a BAD CASE (based on a now-repealed NY law… repealed b/c it was so bad on its face). It would give this court the opportunity to “Interpret Law” in a way that would disfavor religious liberty. DOJ is doing a strategically sound thing here.

Aaron Siri’s tweet is misleading. The Trump DOJ brief DOES NOT SAY at all that medical exemptions are fine but religious ones aren’t—it actually says Title VII REQUIRES reasonable religious accommodations and would PREEMPT any state law blocking them.
In this case, they made a narrow call to skip Supreme Court review in this one old, already-repealed NY case—because it’s a weak, fact-specific dispute (full exemption vs. other options like reassignment) that’s not worth the Court’s time.
The brief explicitly states the opposite of Siri’s framing on the core legal principle..
“Petitioners are correct that, if New York law foreclosed any consideration of religious accommodations, it would be preempted by Title VII… Title VII would preempt a state law that precludes an employer from attempting to reasonably accommodate an employee’s religious practice.”

Just as Polymarkets was a better predictor of the 2024 Presidential election than most of the liberal polls, our current shortage of missiles and current gas prices may be better indicators of whether and when President Trump will sign a peace deal with Iran than the current crop of headlines.
Most estimates say the U.S. needs two years or more to replace the armaments used to date in the Iran war, which affects not only the peace negotiations but also our ability to defend Taiwan.
Trump is aware of this and doesn’t want to put himself at a disadvantage negotiating with the Mullahs, so I suspect that’s why he’s allowing the cease fire to go on for so long. He may think the Naval blockade is a more effective way to tighten the noose around the Mullah’s necks while not further depleting our missiles.
Who knows what will happen? Apparently Big Oil does and thinks a peace deal with Iran is imminent.

Because I hate Commies and Communism, I wanted to learn more about the Russian Revolution. I am reading a revisionist history called the Russian Revolution by Sean McMeekin. In this case “revisionist” is a positive because 1) most of the previous histories of this era were written by Commie fanboys most likely funded by the Soviets and 2) post Cold War, there was a lot of archives opened up to outside researchers.
I am only about half way through but a couple of fun facts:

My heart is feeling pretty heavy these days.
Don’t know what it is like where you live, but in my socialist neck-of-the-woods there is absolutely no sign that our God given country will be celebrating its 250th birthday/anniversary on July 4th — a little over 5 weeks away.
I remember America’s 200th birthday and it was one great celebration after another. Companies were selling all things U.S.A., and were putting American flags or colors on their products.
This year? Our 250th birthday seems to be nothing more than just another day.
It makes me sad. It makes me mad. I know the leftist infiltrators have much to do with it, especially in the socialist stronghold of northern Minnesota.
So this weekend my husband and I will decorate the front of our driveway (you can’t see our house from the road) with all things American. Lots of red, white and blue, lots of lights to light it up when darkness falls, will bring out our 11 foot tall President Trump statue and will hang my old flag that I painted the Statue of Liberty on where no one can miss her.
If no one else up here remembers the great blessings God has bestowed on our nation and her people, we will.
And on July 3rd and 4th we will be in South Dakota at Mt. Rushmore. I think President Trump will be there on the 3rd, which is the day they’ll light fireworks, but we did not win tickets to attend the celebration on the hillside along with the President. It will just be cool to see the mega, MAGA helicopters flying over when President Trump arrives and leaves.

The Tall Ships are returning for the 250th!!!! –the largest world flotilaa since 1976 will arrive in NYC on the 5th (Class B on East River and the 4th the Class A ships will sail up the Hudson River, stretching from the Verrazzano Bridge all the way to the George Washington Bridge. A few days later there will be a Tall Ships race from NYC to Boston.

In my area there will be flags, fireworks, and gatherings galore. One of my neighbors has enough fireworks to light up a city. I’ve got a 6 lb grassfed, hormone free standing ribeye roast in my food plans with a homemade dutch apple pie for desert and everyone is doubling up on our flag displays (most houses fly at least one year round) – from Christian to Don’t Tread on Me to various historical US and military flags. My sister-in-law lives in a small town south of Indianapolis. With what she says about how patriotic her area is we often think about moving that way.
I know Minnesota is really a red state, but the cities and Arrowhead (where I live and Gus Hall’s communist beginning started), are deep dark blue.
I’m from the USA Raven 🙂 Military brat and a veteran. We never lived anywhere more than 3 years and often 2 growing up, then traveled the other parts of the world hadn’t been before while active duty. Have family spread from one end of the country to the other – but none I know of in Minnesota. Currently in the south.
We did live in Indiana for a few years, at a SAC base, when I was quite young. Largest hail I’ve ever seen in my life while there (softball sized).
From my experiences, most very large population centers and political centers are blue – most rural areas are deep red. If you move, stick to small towns, rural areas, or areas with significant proportions of veterans (as long as it isn’t a major city) 😉

It insane that these drugs have been around for decades, and nobody bothered to look. Ivermectin has been well known to have anticancer, and I dare say, antiviral properties. But there is no money for pharma in that, so….
They also have a wide safety range and low toxicity. The bendazole class can elevate liver enzymes, but that risk is better than dying from cancer, and is a hell of a lot safer than any chemo… By a long shot. But again, there is no profit margin for pharma. I bet there is many more drugs like that out there. Kinda disgusting and maddening at the same time.

Reoccurance of cancers treated by chemo and radiation is fairly common due to basically destroying the patient’s immune system in the process.
Its not just that. The cancer cells literally evolve to be resistant to the chemo. They also come back with a vengeance. Chemo is a can kicking exercise at best.
In the big scheme of things, the way the clot shot got rolled out, Big Pharma screwed themselves as it led to a situation of where we are….a poor product forced, (Illegally) on average people world wide, with catastrophic results…and now…

It will take a long time, if ever…to fix that snafu.
My (ex-) oncologist told me over 2 yrs ago that I would likely die of cancer in the next 3 months due to having a very aggressive form, unless I had intensive chemo and radiation. Instead I took Ivermectin and Fenbendazole along with a strict low carb diet (keep blood sugars low) and lots of exercise. Today I’m very healthy and fit.
This week I got the results of a new Labcorp cancer genetics test that tests for over 500 cancer types. The results showed me to be completely cancer free. I will continue to monitor it but I thank God I refused chemo and radiation!

The first year I generally kept my fasting numbers between 65-75 but I’ve been 75-85 more recently as soon as I wake up. I’m pretty consistent in fasting at least 14 hrs overnight.
And I do a 35 min ancient (and challenging!) Tibetan calisthenics routine first thing in the morning that drops it 10-12pts, plus other exercise two to three times throughout the day. Consistent daily exercise (cardio and strength) alone can reduce metastases risk by about 40+%.

IF it were true, then time would be measuring your movement through the continuum of space-time.
IF it were true, would it mean that the difference in passage of time – “that two hours flew by!” and “that 5 minutes seemed like forever!” was a result of a changing velocity in your journey through said continuum?
Then their are the different viewpoints of two people to consider when pondering IF it is true.
The first is where one is in a ship traveling at or near the speed of light. The other stationary. Two very different time frames – time dilation.
The second involves black holes and their event horizon. To a stationary observer, a ship falling into the event horizon seems frozen in time – for a different reason dealing with the time it would take the light to reach you as it crossed over and was torn apart by the sheer forces.
