Yes, there are many scriptures that can be seen as arguing against each other. Especially on this very important subject.
I find it distressing though that many adhere to beliefs that essentially make their Savior into a liar.
But I admit that weaving these disparate scriptures into a coherent, non-contradicting theology is a very difficult task.
Baptism is a work. We are not saved by our works, but by faith alone. Isn’t faith a work? Or require a work such as proclaiming faith? We are saved by God’s faith, not ours. Sorry if I am paraphrasing these and not quoting these scriptures. But earnest Christians can and do range all over the place on this.
On a slightly different note, how did Jesus’ brother James usurp leadership of the Church from Peter? In Acts, when Paul and Peter are feuding, James is the Authority. But Acts starts with Peter firmly in charge. It probably has something to do with Peter’s imprisonment and subsequent escape from Jerusalem. But he could fulfil his Christ assigned leadership role elsewhere too.

The “precepts of men” refers to the traditions and interpretations developed by religious leaders that were not divinely inspired. It makes one wonder just how many of us are influenced by precepts of men.

Kyle Busch died of severe pneumonia that progressed into sepsis, resulting in rapid and overwhelming complications.
Pneumonia is dangerous, and a lot of guys dislike of going to a doctor and preferring to ‘tough it out’ can lead to deadly consequences. I am on of those guys too.
True. Everyone has that limit or point when they figure that they had better see the doctor. Earlier this year I had pneumonia and I finally hit that limit. It was a good thing too. Had I waited another day or so I would have been hospitalized. As it was I had two antibiotics, a small volume nebulizer, a mucolytic that tasted like sulfur and a couple of other medications. It took two weeks and another four or so before I was getting back to normal.
Don’t wait.
Jeff died of pneumonia and sepsis. When NASCAR legend Kyle Busch died of the same thing last week, it was the first time I’d ever heard of the two causes linked together. This makes two. A lot of us questioned if Kyle took the jab. However, we can’t do that in Jeff’s case for the obvious year of his passing.

We found a house for $18 a month………..our first house cost $20,000 on one acre close to a lake and sold for $399,000 recently……..we had sold it after 4 years for $30,000.

In 1943, the Gestapo finally caught Raymond Aubrac — one of France’s most wanted Resistance leaders. He was sentenced to death. His execution was days away.
His wife Lucie was six months pregnant.
Most people would have hidden. Would have grieved quietly and prayed for a miracle. Lucie Aubrac did something else entirely. She obtained forged identity papers, constructed a cover story, and walked straight into the office of Klaus Barbie — the man history would remember as the Butcher of Lyon — and convinced him to grant her a visit with the condemned man. She wasn’t there to say goodbye.
She was memorizing guard positions. Counting minutes. Mapping the route the prison truck would take.
On October 21, 1943, that truck rolled through the streets of Lyon carrying Raymond and other prisoners toward what should have been the end. Lucie had spent weeks quietly assembling a team of Resistance fighters, planning an ambush with the precision of a military operation. When the truck reached the ambush point, the team struck — fast, coordinated, and without hesitation.
In the chaos of gunfire and confusion, Raymond Aubrac was pulled free. Lucie — visibly, unmistakably pregnant — had organized every detail of his liberation.
They went into hiding. Weeks later, Lucie gave birth to their daughter in a safe house while German forces searched for them across France. When liberation finally came, the Aubracs didn’t merely survive — they rebuilt. Raymond became a celebrated engineer and entered public life. Lucie became a historian, pouring decades into ensuring that the women of the French Resistance — so often unnamed, so easily forgotten — were written permanently into the record. They raised three children. They traveled the world. They argued and laughed and grew old together.
When journalists asked Lucie, years later, what had compelled her to risk everything that October day, she didn’t hesitate.
“He was my husband. What else would I do?”
Lucie Aubrac passed away in 2007 at the age of 94. Raymond — who had once needed a commando team to be freed from a German prison — lived on until 2012, reaching 97 years old. In his final years, he continued speaking publicly about the Resistance, about memory, about the obligation to tell the truth.
They had been married for 64 years.

Not sure about his story, but the French Resistance was bad about security and the Gestapo was able through torture and turncoats to roll up significant portions because so many knew each other.
I also read that many who were executed weren’t executed until near the end of the war. Basically, despite NAZIs not admitting defeat, they went on a last minute spree of revenge killings. Making sure their enemies wouldn’t survive the war either.
Bonhoeffer got a last minute execution too.
Grok says the story is true and confirmed. Two details left out are that Lucie was communist and that after the rescue they escaped to England where they continued their work for the resistance. Based on my reading, and being a former SF solider I have done quite a bit about the various resistant forces in Europe during WW II, it was the communist underground cells and guerilla fighters that maintained the best security and were the most effective overall in France.
Did it say how the Germans captured him?
What I wanted to make clear is I didn’t know if he got rolled up that way.
Nope! But more than likely someone in the cell was captured and was tortured or they threatened to kill their family or a family member.

Finding Peace in God’s Strength | Verse of the Day – May 27, 2026 (Morning Prayer)

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Oklahoma is dealing with some weird stuff. ticks, boxes of lone star ticks being found in pastures.
I contracted alpha gal last summer and finally got relief through therapy. Ginger Spencer is her name, she has written books on it. Anyway, this nation has been under siege now for quite some time people need to literally hang for these diseases they are giving us. I started asking people if they herd of alpha gal and all the cattle growers here have it, I’ve now found it’s very common among anyone who is in a pasture. I have been bitten hundreds of times by every kind of bug, probably had all kinds of issues that were temporary but this one, bad mojo.
i believe 100% cancer is spread on purpose to us all. Limes disease, alpha gal, flu, diabetes, arthritis, all curable and perpetrated by pharma. Any disease pharma treats is their product.
We all thought that billion dollar check the government hands out for “research” was for cures. Jokes on us, they invent to make money from diseases. Return on investment.
