Just when I think you have reached the apex of kittydom posts, you exceed yourself! Outstanding! ❤️
I have a sad story today with, I hope, an uplifting one to counter.
Our daughter’s kitty, Jasper, passed away last Saturday night unexpectedly. We had planned a Mother’s Day celebration, but instead went and picked up dear Jasper and brought him to our place to rest with so many of our fur kids. My daughter and I spent much time crying and recounting Jasper’s exploits.
She is riddled with guilt because she spent many hours Saturday night trapping a severely injured feral cat rather than being at home with Jasper. She had been called in by the Humane Society because of a unique ability she posseses to capture sick and injured kitties. She did indeed catch that kitty, and brought him in for treatment. He underwent successful surgery and is going to make it.
She also, every night, feeds over 100 kitties spread out over 4 colonies she maintains. It is a massive undertaking of love.
So, if you could please pray for her peace and comfort, I would be so grateful. 🙏 ❤️

You needn’t ask, dearest Corny. I do pray mightily. And I am grieved for you both. The tears I’ve shed in like circumstances…I can’t begin to tell you, but somehow I believe you know. I am so so sorry.
The only words of comfort I can pass on are the ones which have made my grief bearable in the immediate afterwards in losing a cat or our Penny are these…
At least the short lives our animals had when they were with us were the best they could have. A home in which they were loved and cared for. Your beloved daughter was not to know, and another needed her desperately. I pray she can reconcile her decision to help another with the knowledge that Jaspar’s life was exactly as I described.
A heart as big as hers which she no doubt gets from you, dear sis, I know is devastated by this loss, added I’m sure to many others she has borne working as she does to make sure none of God’s feline creations goes hungry if she can help it.
The only thing we can hope for when we give our hearts to a cat or dog is that, on knowing their lives are never as long as we would hope, we pray their passing will be a peaceful one, which it seems his was…in a home where he felt secure. Looking for any silver lining I can, he chose where he was rather than, as cats can do and our semi feral last one did, wander off…leaving us forever wondering.
I pray she and you will be able to consider that a small blessing. My heart breaks with yours and hers for a thing which is a non negotiable price we pay when we love our pets. With hopes also her rescue will heal and be found a home as loving as hers.

Afternoon, dear Bet! Just climbed onto our limb after a busy morning. When I walked outside earlier this morning I couldn’t help being pleased that I had the troublesome 220 power line hanging properly. It had previously dropped down to about 5ft off the ground which, of course, was dangerous for anyone walking through the back yard. Glad I could fix it. Now i can have my yard/fence guy replace my back fence. Happily he assures me he can do the complete job in one day . . . 🙂
Just gave Little ‘Tink a good brush. Her feral instincts are still latent so she initially always tries to run away when I want to pick her up. I’ve learned her habits, however, and temp her with her food dish. When I do that only then can I easily pick her up . . . And guess what? As soon as I do that she settles right down and rewards me with a comfortable lap-purr. I try to give her a good brush every other day so this has become a very familiar ritual. Good, (almost) formally feral , kitty . . . Be well, love. 🙂
I guess with a domesticated feral kitty, they always retain a small part of their previous world. But she is so attached into you, I’m not surprised she settles, bless her wee heart. The purrs are the affirmation. I’m certain I can hear her 💕
And yes, pleased and relieved, too, I’m certain. Electricity is nothing to be messed about with. Chris’s dad was an electrical engineer and taught him from an early age to be wary and respectful of it. His sisterdecades ago accidentally came on contact with it on her farmhouse just as Chris walked in. He had to literally knock her off the wall. A miracle she survived.
So it sounds as if all is going according to plan. Well done!! I’m making chili for dinner tonight…an anniversary treat…39 years. And I’m still wondering where they all went…

We had them once a month on Fridays in the ’60s. CYO (Catholic Youth Org.) had one and MYF (Methodist Youth Fellowship) had one. For teens 13 up to 18. My Lutheran church unfortunately did not have any youth dances, so I attended the other church’s dances.
The local village Women’s Club conducted a “Friday Assembly” ballroom dance instruction for children at their meeting hall in a church on the village’s main street that was non-denominational.

COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 12
The psalmist begs help of God, because there were none among men whom he durst trust.
– This psalm furnishes good thoughts for bad times; a man may comfort himself with such meditations and prayers. Let us see what makes the times bad, and when they may be said to be so. Ask the children of this world, What makes the times bad? they will tell you, Scarcity of money, decay of trade, and the desolations of war, make the times bad: but the Scripture lays the badness of the times on causes of another nature, #2Ti 3:1, &c.|: perilous times shall come, for sin shall abound; and of this David complains. When piety decays times really are bad. He who made man’s mouth will call him to an account for his proud, profane, dissembling, or even useless words. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
