I heard that Brightnight, a Chinese-affiliated solar company, is looking at building a AI data center here in SW Utah. This is desert country with finite water resources. A couple years ago I talked to a local rancher in the area who was being put out of business because his property was being surrounded by massive solar farms. He had leased the BLM land for decades for his cattle grazing.
FYI, i am intimately familiar with the data center infrastructure and its business model, architecture, etc. been in the industry for 20 years. happy to answer any questions about it, but suffice it to say that the sudden explosion of the luddite NIMBY stuff is absolutely not organic. as with many things, like SD indicated in the post yesterday, it attracts plenty of locals, and sometimes for legitimate reasons… but this is not a groundswell of grassroots opposition.
Well, in my area that is not the case. Our community fraught against a massive solar farm in our backyard. Fortunately, their proposal was withdrawn in part due to our outrage. I think a large part of the opposition to data centers comes from the years of communities like ours fighting solar farms.
In many areas that isn’t the case – and those who are all gunho about building data centers that occupy dozens of square miles of land are absolutely moronic idiots…

Rep. Clay Higgins (R-LA). He was my first choice for FBI, and still is. Clay is rough like a Cajun bull, but he will break up the current mess.
I really liked Clay Higgins when he grilled FBI director Chris Wray about the number of FBI agents at the Capital during J6.
Wray had no answers and Higgins continued with Ghost Buses that brought in an unknown number of people to the J6 protest. Wray knew nothing about that either.
Rep. Higgins finished by saying they are continuing the investigation into FBIs involvement in J6 and get to the truth.
Maybe I’ve missed it, but haven’t heard anything from Rep. Higgins about this.

It is what your motivation is and what you do when you are there that is important. I have been to Arlington to pay my respects at that burial site. On my bucket list is a visit to the Arizona monument, if I dived I would want to do that while I was there. It is the same with other battlefields that I have visited such as Bennington, Lexington, Gettysburg, and Shiloh.
It is quite humbling to visit those sites; the power of reverence to those who gave all, and the respect it fills you with for those honored dead overcomes you like a tidal wave, in ways you that you will never experience anywhere else as an America loving patriot.
Unless I learn to dive, I can only imagine what it would be like to dive on the Arizona, but I know it would be even more powerful than standing at the end of the line where the 20th Maine held the critical position in the critical battle of the Civil War, and that was plenty reverential.
