Afternoon dear lady. Its always good to hear from you. Its a glorious spring day here in my part of Texas. Not too cool nor too hot . . . Little ‘Tink loves days like this, dashing outside as soon as I opened the outside kitchen door.
I don’t worry about her going out whenever she wants. Although she’s mainly an inside kitty, she’s well possessed of street-kitty smarts. She’s friends with my neighbor’s cats and gets along with our other itinerant critters . . . including a young racoon who—surprisingly—likes to visit and, although wary, is accustomed to being around humans. I discovered rabies vaccination chewies on Amazon which I’m going to start leaving out for our visitors.
Glad you still enjoy the music selections. Fortunately, the siccas videos are continuously eclectic. 🙂
I so love to hear about Tink! We have one of our 8 kitties, Zane Grey, who is allowed out when we sit outside in the morning – then he gets whisked in!
He was a 24 hour outdoor kitty when his previous “caretakers” moved out and left him – so also pretty savvy. And….he weighs over 20 pounds.
The first thing he does is go visit his siblings who were too feral to tame and live in our garage and small barn. Such a sweetheart! ❤️
PS we did trap and neuter those feral kitties and we keep a 25 lb feeder in the garage.

I was talking to a good friend yesterday and our conversation turned to honesty in long term relationships. Both our spouses are now gone but both of us were fortunate to be in quite long-term relationships. My late wife and I were together for 55 years . . .
What allowed us to stay together for so long? Trust and Loyalty. For all that time—no matter what happened both good and bad—we both trusted each other (always) and were loyal to each other. Always. If you can maintain those values as part of a relationship, its long term survival prospects are much improved. 🙂
You nailed it Garrison. In the final analysis, trust and loyalty are The most necessary ingredients – everything else will follow. I was 16 the first time – and Stupid!
Forty the second time, which I highly recommend. It does, however, make that 55 year goal pretty difficult to achieve! How fortunate you both were to get it right. ❤️
W e were in our mid-20s and so not exactly “newbes”. I thought she was not only really smart but was also so attractive I was immediately captivated . . . But it also didn’t hurt that she liked cars and, amazingly, liked me! Fortunately I was smart enough to know not to pass up a good thing. And as the years went by none of that changed . . .

My sainted aunt married into a first generation Italian family. My uncle’s 4 sisters immediately took her under their collective wing, and taught her Italian cooking. She learned so well, they decided she was the best cook among them! Very high praise: and well deserved. Dinner at Aunt Sis’s was a gastronomic experience! I sure miss her, and the food is the least of it.

COMMENTARY FOR 1 THESSALONIANS 5:17
The apostle exhorts to be always ready for the coming of Christ to judgment, which will be with suddenness and surprise. (1-11) He directs to several particular duties. (12-22) And concludes with prayer, greetings, and a blessing. (23-28)
16-22 We are to rejoice in creature-comforts, as if we rejoiced not, and must not expect to live many years, and rejoice in them all; but if we do rejoice in God, we may do that evermore. A truly religious life is a life of constant joy. And we should rejoice more, if we prayed more. Prayer will help forward all lawful business, and every good work. If we pray without ceasing, we shall not want matter for thanksgiving in every thing. We shall see cause to give thanks for sparing and preventing, for common and uncommon, past and present, temporal and spiritual mercies. Not only for prosperous and pleasing, but also for afflicting providences, for chastisements and corrections; for God designs all for our good, though we at present see not how they tend to it. Quench not the Spirit. Christians are said to be baptized with the Holy Ghost and with fire. He worketh as fire, by enlightening, enlivening, and purifying the souls of men. As fire is put out by taking away fuel, and as it is quenched by pouring water, or putting a great deal of earth upon it; so we must be careful not to quench the Holy Spirit, by indulging carnal lusts and affections, minding only earthly things. Believers often hinder their growth in grace, by not giving themselves up to the spiritual affections raised in their hearts by the Holy Spirit. By prophesyings, here understand the preaching of the word, the interpreting and applying the Scriptures. We must not despise preaching, though it is plain, and we are told no more than what we knew before. We must search the Scriptures. And proving all things must be to hold fast that which is good. We should abstain from sin, and whatever looks like sin, leads to it, and borders upon it. He who is not shy of the appearances of sin, who shuns not the occasions of it, and who avoids not the temptations and approaches to it, will not long keep from doing sin.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
