It jumped out at me: “Mary sings in humility”. Good counsel for those who claim the name of Christ. Paul speaks of this in Hebrews 11. It is unbelievable to me how many Christians, even in this country, boast of their standing in Christ but belittle Paul and Jesus’s cultural ties and live in disobedience to the teachings of Jesus. We need a little humility at times. God is able to graft Israel into the Vine again whenever He chooses.

I must pack our things – they’re ripping up the floors at the end of May – they couldn’t wait until October when my lease is up? $700 for a hotel for me and the kittoes for the inconvenience. I would be furious – but who’s got the energy???
Once packed, I am pretty sure I won’t UNPACK. I didn’t plan on moving, but the writing is on the wall with the apartment’s maneuvers. Think “replacement theory”. Happening now, even under this administration. Sigh. This place is too expensive anyway. For that, I will not be planting flowers or my tomatoes on my patio this year. Double sigh.
I’m so glad we carry HOME with us in our hearts. It really isn’t tangible anymore.
Maybe the next place will have dirt I can sink my fingers into. I like to weed gardens in the rain. Makes it easy to pull ’em up. And I like the smell of earth in the rain.

Speaking of dirt, this year I thought that we would skip planting the garden with all the other things we’ve been busy with.
However, just the thought of homegrown tomatoes made us reconsider and I planted some, although a bit late. Also, planted 2 zucchini plants and 3 Serrano peppers. And a couple of days ago I added a second black berry to the one that we already had.

I have taken to the crazy habit of harvesting the last bit of my bounty and drying the seeds. Lost a good many springlings in the recent cold snap – but just a small few emerged. These Cherokee Purple tomatoes are just out of this world! I have the survivors in the garage – not sure what to do. If I put them out, what to do with the plants when they grow? They get big – about six feet tall and make a nice hedge.
3 Serrano peppers – that’s a lot of heat! If that don’t get your heart movin’!
I’ve taken to making some pretty righteous Escabeche – pickled carrots, jalapenos, and cauliflower. It is so fresh and yummy.
I take it your Zucchini is for “gifting” – because those suckers can’t be given away fast enough come season end. I can only make so much Lemon Zucchini Bread – though do LOVE fresh zucchini in the air fryer with lemon pepper seasoning for about 15 minutes until tender.

Do you know that in Seattle – the blackberries are extremely invasive and grow wild???!!!! Imagine the thought of spending $5 to $7 a pint here in Indiana – only to have them by the bushel-full in Seattle.
Why people starve is beyond me.
We give some of the zucchini away and we eat a lot of them. My mom makes that dish, fried or baked zucchini with yogurt, garlic and dill sauce that Elizabeth and I can eat daily.
Come to think of it I have a tiny amount of leftovers that she cooked a couple of days ago with store bought zucchini. I’m going to enjoy it right now. 😁

One of the great benefits of being an old-retired-guy is not having to worry about being on time anywhere. The sense of being in charge is wonderful. So this morning, Little ‘Tink and I didn’t get up until a little after 10am (!!)
Good luck on your search for another apartment. The neighborhood adjacent to my favorite Taqueria has lots of apartments most of which appear to have been converted from last-century Victorians. Not to many geezers like me, but lots of dog walkers of varying ages who are probably single.

Met Shelby several times at the races. Very personable guy . . . up to a point. Two friends frequently traded in “real” Cobras. You are right about the “sort of Cobras” that sometimes appear on the markets. One friend sold quite a few Cobras and also real “GT 350 Mustangs”. Real ones are now golden.
The various “continuation” versions aren’t bad at all. If you are handy with tools and have a decent shop you can build yourself a nice “in the style of” Cobra replica. Personally, I’ve always like the earlier 289 versions. But then I’m a geezer and these cars were from my generation. Remember “Sports Cars Graphic” magazine . . . ??? 🙂

The only trip I remember in one was my Algebra teacher / HS Chess club teacher took the club to Terra Haute to FDR or TR (one of those 2 presidents IDR) HS for a chess tournament. We were clown car-ish, don’t remember how many were allowed, I assume it was the top 6-8 ranked players.
Also a trip to Arsenal tech downtown Indy as well… at least it was a short trip. The prison type fencing around Arsenal was rather disturbing to me at the time tho, it is probably double fencing now or better, hard to tell from the current Sat photos, see the gates @ entrances and a guard shacks. Looks much bigger than it used to be as I remember it anyway.
I think you could seat comfortably eight… but a terrific clown car it was! You could probably muscle in ten – if you were skinny teens – or 8 year olds.

I was 5 6″ & 225 still short back then, 6′ 195 now last Dr visit.
None were “obese” at that time but we were all well fed being from a bedroom community of the big 3 automotive plant workers.
Never did beat the club prez in chess even once, he was a smart kid, he should have done well, the hodge podge of others… iffy, I think I was the only jr/sr in the club rest were transient members of Freshmen / Sph.
No <USCF> games in this town, looked within the last few years I am still listed (today even), just pay the fees & back into competitive chess I can go. P2P chess mostly now I’m guessing.. not rated there for obvious reasons & I really need in person chess.

I attended a 2.5 hour online conference put on by the Heart 180 ministry yesterday. It was for parents with estranged children. It was so lifting and beautiful. We had breakout sessions and made friends – one gal was all the way from Norway.
For some, Mother’s Day (and holidays in general) can be quite difficult.

The Pastors who lead this have beautiful hearts. They weren’t going to leave anyone crying in a ditch on the side of the road. One poor woman, married 47 years, is on the brink of marriage collapse because the husband leaves her to attend the estranged child events and thus she’s excluded by all. She was so very hurt. After the session – they stayed online and fielded lots of questions from attendees seeking support. God love them all.

Her father is a terrible Asperger Narcissist – double degreed. Now, a SR IT Admin for Pfizer – with a boss who is known as a total psychopath. His boss of almost 17 ish years – beat his wife, wife-swapped, plied her with drugs and almost killed her per the brother. The Board of Directors of the company acquired by Pfizer for $40B said that his personal behavior had no bearing on his professional contributions. In 2008 time frame the economy took a huge hit from the SubPrime Loan Crisis. Banks were FORCED to loan money to borrowers that could not afford the home they were buying. Not sure any of them cook worth a darn as their mother was not much of a cook, not that any of them could not afford dining out on a very regular basis. 3 of 4 married now within the last 2 years so I do not know if any married a good cook.
That’s sad. There’s something special and intimate about sharing dinner around the table. I honestly despise macaroni and cheese. Kid just totally did me in with it – it was her favorite – be it the blue box kind or the highly curated five cheese with half and half kind. Either – didn’t matter to her – they rated just the same!
I wouldn’t usually eat it – but with this meal, it will be a nice pairing.
When I had the dine-in, I made the M&C from scratch for the “kids meals”.

COMMENTARY FOR PROVERBS 31
An exhortation to king Lemuel to take heed of sin, and to do duties. (1-9) The description of a virtuous woman. (10-31)1-9 When children are under the mother’s eye, she has an opportunity of fashioning their minds aright. Those who are grown up, should often call to mind the good teaching they received when children. The many awful instances of promising characters who have been ruined by vile women, and love of wine, should warn every one to avoid these evils. Wine is to be used for want or medicine. Every creature of God is good, and wine, though abused, has its use. By the same rule, due praise and consolation should be used as cordials to the dejected and tempted, not administered to the confident and self-sufficient. All in authority should be more carefully temperate even than other men; and should be protectors of those who are unable or afraid to plead their own cause. Our blessed Lord did not decline the bitterest dregs of the cup of sorrow put into his hands; but he puts the cup of consolation into the hands of his people, and causes those to rejoice who are in the deepest distress.
10-31 This is the description of a virtuous woman of those days, but the general outlines equally suit every age and nation. She is very careful to recommend herself to her husband’s esteem and affection, to know his mind, and is willing that he rule over her. 1. She can be trusted, and he will leave such a wife to manage for him. He is happy in her. And she makes it her constant business to do him good. 2. She is one that takes pains in her duties, and takes pleasure in them. She is careful to fill up time, that none be lost. She rises early. She applies herself to the business proper for her, to women’s business. She does what she does, with all her power, and trifles not. 3. She makes what she does turn to good account by prudent management. Many undo themselves by buying, without considering whether they can afford it. She provides well for her house. She lays up for hereafter. 4. She looks well to the ways of her household, that she may oblige all to do their duty to God and one another, as well as to her. 5. She is intent upon giving as upon getting, and does it freely and cheerfully. 6. She is discreet and obliging; every word she says, shows she governs herself by the rules of wisdom. She not only takes prudent measures herself, but gives prudent advice to others. The law of love and kindness is written in the heart, and shows itself in the tongue. Her heart is full of another world, even when her hands are most busy about this world. 7. Above all, she fears the Lord. Beauty recommends none to God, nor is it any proof of wisdom and goodness, but it has deceived many a man who made his choice of a wife by it. But the fear of God reigning in the heart, is the beauty of the soul; it lasts for ever. 8. She has firmness to bear up under crosses and disappointments. She shall reflect with comfort when she comes to be old, that she was not idle or useless when young. She shall rejoice in a world to come. She is a great blessing to her relations. If the fruit be good, the tree must have our good word. But she leaves it to her own works to praise her. Every one ought to desire this honour that cometh from God; and according to this standard we all ought to regulate our judgments. This description let all women daily study, who desire to be truly beloved and respected, useful and honourable. This passage is to be applied to individuals, but may it not also be applied to the church of God, which is described as a virtuous spouse? God by his grace has formed from among sinful men a church of true believers, to possess all the excellences here described.

Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

One person was struck and killed by a Frontier Airlines plane two minutes after jumping a perimeter fence and crossing a runway at Denver International Airport late Friday, the airport said.
The pedestrian, who has not been identified, is not believed to be an airport employee, the airport said in a statement.
