I made this video after observing four critical omission of the security forces at the attempt on Trump. You will need to watch the short video to get what I mean.
1. The guy with the dog could have prevented the whole thing because the dog led him to the assailant and he ignored the dog.
2. The guy with the dog retreated rather than engage when things did happen.
3. Three Police Officers on the right are escaping the scene rather than engage.
4. Some 11 Security people and only the one close to the camera at the bottom of the screen drew his pistol fast enough. All the others were not aware of their environment and acted too slow.

OTH, the dog was trained to sniff for bombs, and did his job. The officer closest to where the guy ran turned to protect his gun, as he trained to do. The video doesn’t show how he was stopped, but obviously he was. The agents near the magnometer were there to examine anyone who set it off. Unless we know the whole story, it is easy to misinterpret a video like this.
You can debate “what if” the dog handler would have let the dog enter into the staircase, that dog pulled to that direction. Otherwise you see three Officers escaping the scene and the dog handler also going away rather than engage. Only one pulled the gun really fast. The area is full of security so someone stopped him somewhere we can’t see.
I am Israeli. When we have armed people retreating from a terror incident rather than engaging they lose their job. If it is a combat soldier who just happened to be there with his gun, he would be dismissed from a combat unit, he is expected to engage and they usually do engage. It’s rare but it does happen that someone armed is trying to escape. You never know how people react. Security are trained and expected to engage against a threat.
I agree with most of your analysis David. The only part missing is that Cole Allen basically stopped himself. In the second angle, you can see that his left knee slightly strikes the storage container for the magnetometer. That is what starts the process of him falling down. This is mentioned in the arrest report, I believe.
It is very reminiscent of the pathetic security experienced at Butler. Several people in the crowd saw someone on the roof and vocalized his whereabouts prior to President Trump even taking the stage. President Trump was allowed to go onto the stage for one reason, IMHO.

Bomb sniffing dogs, and that is what this one is reported to be, are not trained to engage against humans. His role was to detect explosives.
If you are a soldier with gun ready, of course you engage. If you are security at a checkpoint with gun holstered, you either engage physically against a man coming with a shotgun and probably die, or you turn you gun side away so you can draw and fire. There have been a few expert commentators on this specific video who understand the whole picture.
Note also, one of the magnenomitors was being taken down. Virtually everyone attending was already inside. The perp had the element of surprise, but there were enough layers to prevent him from getting any further.
Also, the Secret Service does much more thorough and better informed after action evaluations that a random website.

I was looking for a training video of an amazing guy. Unfortunately it was removed. The point is not the “doing”, it is the “being”. A security guard should “be” – Sharp, alert, trained, confident, controlling the area, etc…
In Israel when you see one, even at low level train station or so, you can tell that it’s not a good idea to mess with him.
Those are people who fought and can fight. But Israel is getting better out of no other choice.

A couple of years ago, after the big scare about drones over New Jersey hit the news, I started following the drone news closely. A lot of news stories about drones came in for the news feed, and I found a number of others on my own. Reading and collating the material made me realize how important drones had become, not just as military tools, but also for many other purposes.
The war between Russia and Ukraine has spurred a leap forward in the development of drone-related technology, which is advancing so quickly that it’s hard to keep up with what’s happening.
I was prompted to write these posts by a recent report in Tom’s Hardware about a new Japanese drone fabricated out of corrugated cardboard. An excerpt from the introduction is below, but the entire article is well worth reading:
Japan’s Minister of Defense, Shinjiro Koizumi, said in a post on X on Monday that the country had begun using expendable cardboard drones developed by Japanese drone manufacturer AirKamuy.
Speaking during a meeting with the startup, the minister confirmed that the Japan Maritime Self-Defense Force was already utilizing the company’s low-cost drones as aerial targets as Japan expands its use of unmanned systems across its military.
The drone, known as the AirKamuy 150, is a lightweight fixed-wing platform built primarily from corrugated cardboard with a water-resistant coating. Unlike conventional military drones that rely on expensive composite materials and specialized aerospace manufacturing, the AirKamuy 150 is designed around extreme affordability and mass production.
The cardboard drones cost about $2,000, which is an order of magnitude cheaper than comparable drones made of composite materials. They are specifically intended for use in mass swarms, where relatively expendable drones are needed.
I advise keeping an eye on the AirKamuy 150.

Tuesday of the Fifth Week of Easter
Today the Roman Martyrology commemorates St. Angelus of Jerusalem, O.Carm (1185-1220), priest, martyr, hermit, mystic, reformer, thaumaturge, missionary, convert from Judaism and a professed Priest of the Order of the Brothers of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel. He is also known as St. Angelus of Sicily and St. Angelo. He died by being stabbed to death in 1220 at Licata, Sicily.
St. Angelus of Jerusalem
St. Angelus was born in Jerusalem to a Jewish family. His mother converted to Christianity and Angelo, along with his twin brother John, was Baptised and converted along with her. His parents died while he was in his childhood and the Patriarch Nicodemus oversaw their education until the twins turned eighteen. He and his brother John entered the Carmelites then, at the Saint Anne convent near the Golden Gate to commence their novitiate. They were well learned and already spoke Greek, Latin and Hebrew. When he was twenty-six, Angelo was Ordained in Jerusalem and travelled throughout Palestine. Various miraculous cures were attributed to him as he travelled. His “Acta” tells us that he sought to avoid fame and when he was becoming known for his miracles, he withdrew from society to a hermitage to avoid the pilgrims who were following him. Angelus withdrew to a hermitage on Mount Carmel, until he was instructed by Christ in a vision, to leave Mount Carmel for Italy to preach against the Albigensians, Bulgars and other heresies.
He set off on a Genoese ship on 1 April 1219 and stopped first in Messina before heading off to Civitavecchia before he ended up in Rome to meet with the pope. The friar preached in the Basilica of Saint John Lateran while in Rome where he met both Saint Francis of Assisi and Saint Dominic. He foretold that Francis would receive the stigmata while Francis foretold his premature death. From there he was a guest of the Basilians in Palermo where he was for about a month, before preaching in Agrigento for over a month before settling in Licata. He had healed seven lepers and the ailing Archbishop of Palermo Bernardo de Castanea while in Palermo. He settled on the Sicilian island though his fame as a wonderworker caused crowds to flock to him. He also had success in converting some Jews though most Jews in Palermo came to despise him for this since he himself was once Jewish.
He wanted to convert a Knight named Berenger. Catholic tradition states that Berenger was living in incest and that Angelo convinced the knight’s companion to leave him. Berenger became enraged and arranged to have him attacked and murdered, in front of the Church of Saints Filippo and Giacomo in Licata. He didn’t die from the attack until four days after the attack and during that time, he prayed for his assassin and asked the civil authorities to pardon him. He showed the ultimate in forgiveness, setting an example for all those that he preached to. He was buried at Saints Filippo and Giacomo Church. His sepulchre at Licata quickly became a site of Pilgrimage.
The Carmelites venerated him as a saint from 1456 and Pope Pius II Canonised him in 1459. His relics were translated to a new Church in Licata, Saint Maria del Carmine. It was through St Angelo’s intercession that the plague in the Kingdom of Naples was halted.

COMMENTARY FOR JOHN 1:16
The apostle and evangelist, John, seems to have been the youngest of the twelve. He was especially favoured with our Lord’s regard and confidence, so as to be spoken of as the disciple whom Jesus loved. He was very sincerely attached to his Master. He exercised his ministry at Jerusalem with much success, and outlived the destruction of that city, agreeably to Christ’s prediction, ch. #21:22|. History relates that after the death of Christ’s mother, John resided chiefly at Ephesus. Towards the close of Domitian’s reign he was banished to the isle of Patmos, where he wrote his Revelation. On the accession of Nerva, he was set at liberty, and returned to Ephesus, where it is thought he wrote his Gospel and Epistles, about A. D. 97, and died soon after. The design of this Gospel appears to be to convey to the Christian world, just notions of the real nature, office, and character of that Divine Teacher, who came to instruct and to redeem mankind. For this purpose, John was directed to select for his narrative, those passages of our Saviour’s life, which most clearly displayed his Divine power and authority; and those of his discourses, in which he spake most plainly of his own nature, and of the power of his death, as an atonement for the sins of the world. By omitting, or only briefly mentioning, the events recorded by the other evangelists, John gave testimony that their narratives are true, and left room for the doctrinal statements already mentioned, and for particulars omitted in the other Gospels, many of which are exceedingly important.The Divinity of Christ. (1-5) His Divine and human nature. (6-14) John the Baptist’s testimony to Christ. (15-18) John’s public testimony concerning Christ. (19-28) Other testimonies of John concerning Christ. 15-18 As to the order of time and entrance on his work, Christ came after John, but in every other way he was before him. The expression clearly shows that Jesus had existence before he appeared on earth as man. All fulness dwells in him, from which alone fallen sinners have, and shall receive, by faith, all that renders them wise, strong, holy, useful, and happy. Our receivings by Christ are all summed up in this one word, grace; we have received “even grace,” a gift so great, so rich, so invaluable; the good will of God towards us, and the good work of God in us. The law of God is holy, just, and good; and we should make the proper use of it. But we cannot derive from it pardon, righteousness, or strength. It teaches us to adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour, but it cannot supply the place of that doctrine. As no mercy comes from God to sinners but through Jesus Christ, no man can come to the Father but by him; no man can know God, except as he is made known in the only begotten and beloved Son.

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Many people read Psalm 91… but not many know how to pray with it.
Psalm 91 is not just a chapter to comfort you—it is a weapon to cover you.
The secret is this: don’t just read it… turn it into prayer.
“He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High…”
No. Make it personal:
“I dwell in the secret place of the Most High. I abide under the shadow of the Almighty.”
When you pray like this, you are not quoting scripture—you are stepping into it.
“God is my refuge and my fortress…”
Pray it:
“Lord, You are my refuge. I trust You. Hide me. Cover me. Fight for me.”
Take it line by line. Slowly. Intentionally.
Let every verse become your conversation with God.
And when you get to the declarations—don’t be quiet.
“A thousand may fall at my side…”
This is not a whisper. This is authority.
“Even if thousands fall around me, it will not come near me!”
That is how prayer shifts from desperation to dominion.
Psalm 91 is also a weapon in spiritual warfare.
When fear comes…
When attacks rise…
When your night feels heavy…
Declare:
“No evil shall befall me. No plague shall come near my dwelling.”

Heavenly Father,
I choose to dwell in Your secret place. I abide under Your shadow.
You are my refuge and my fortress,
My God, in You I trust.
Deliver me from every hidden trap, every plan of the enemy, and every form of sickness.
Cover me with Your presence. Let me find safety under Your wings.
Let Your truth be my shield and protection.
I declare: I will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrows that fly by day.
Even if a thousand fall at my side and ten thousand at my right hand, it will not come near me.

Command Your angels to guard me in all my ways. Let them lift me up and preserve me.
