I would add from my time in CA that Iranians as a group are not only well educated but also entrepreneurial.
Yes, thank you. I do know many who are entrepreneurial and many whose families got executed, properties, businesses taken over; when the mass executions escalated. Many fled to US with just literally the clothes on their backs. Since then within 5-7 years, many have learned to speak and write English, graduated from their local universities, own their own final houses now, from rents of original cheaper ones bought on mortgage and whatever earnings they could saved from legit jobs; while putting their kids through school; with some needing help with food stamps, medical and other refugee programs from charitable and other refugee organizations.
They are strongly family-oriented, intelligent, accommodating, always polite and tactful; hospitable fun people. Very helpful and obliging, always asking if they can help with anything. Children are also well-behaved. They have mostly acquired so many friends than most within the short years they have assimilated. Ever thankful for any help. None is too small or unappreciated. They are literally a big part of our families here.
Their cuisine is one of the few world cuisines that are still very traditionally based. Always fresh home cooked, and plentiful.
They sound very nice, people that would make good Americans. Why aren’t they applying to become citizens of the USA if they are here and want to stay? Maybe they are and we just don’t know it? How many have become legal citizens while enjoying America’s benefits?

When the Gulf War (conveniently) came along right after the end of the Cold War, wasn’t a large part of the justification for leaving a lot of troops and bases in Europe, and indeed justification for keeping NATO itself alive, was that those troops and bases enhanced our ability to provide force projection into the Middle East just in case similar crises arose? And here with Iran we have such a crisis and the Europeans don’t want us to use that ability to provide force projection. So yes, start pulling people out of there and start shutting down bases we have no more need to continue paying for. It is long overdue.

Here in PA, Sen. Fetterman has more support among Republicans than his own party. The Democrat establishment hates him and plans to primary him. His only hope is to appeal to sane members of his own party and hope to gain enough crossover Republicans to save his seat.

Fetterman with his various medical problems really isn’t in a position to keep a story straight unless he really feels it. He was pretty much ignored by his party except when they wanted his vote. He has done more socially & politically with McCormick after he got elected than with any one Democrat.
He’s gotten better slowly over his time in office, but he’s be consistently pro-Israel and other things that most Democrats aren’t happy about. He will have a strong primary challenge if he runs again. So no, I don’t think the lefties running the party want anything to do with him.
I like him! Fetterman turned out to be a very reasonable, middle of the road, “common sense”, “don’t sweat the small stuff” kind of politician.

Yesterday I listened to a very professional and detailed testimony from a whistleblower who worked for decades in Minnesota social services; he explained quite vividly the unbelievable scale of the corruption, both in the number of non-existent child care facilities and the amounts involved, and then he testified to what happened to him when he investigated it and brought it to the attention of DHS.
They attacked him! Yes that’s right, employees of DHS attacked him for investigating these scams and made his life hell. They referred him to DEI type classes (boring!) for six months allowing the scams to continue unreviewed.

I watched Johnny Carson for many years and I never felt like he was trying to indoctrinate me with any political beliefs. As far as I could tell and felt, his show was entertainment. The Late night shows have morphed into something much different and not better.

I have many “black” friends and live in a “black” community. One thing they dislike more than anything is illegals (they really don’t like the tranny/gay crap either). The reason is simple. illegals took away many of the jobs, especially in construction and home repair that once allowed them to make a decent living. Couple that with the offshoring of factory jobs. 40+ years of that has contributed to broken families, high crime rates, and cultural decline. More need wake up to that though. Honestly think if they fully understood what has happened to them, the support would be over 50%. But when you break people, make them suffer, and then promise them free stuff, like the Dems have done for decades, its very difficult to get out of that cycle.
There is a huge potential to be gained here, the black community like any community will turn away for good if they can be shown that they have been used.

A DO is an MD, with DO credentials added on.
no. A DO is a Doctor of Osteopathic medicine. It’s a different program and different degree from a MD – Medical Doctor. A person gets one or the other.
The University of Tennessee medical school, for example, provides a 4 year Medical Doctor degree. Then a person does a residency in internal medicine, surgery, or orthopedics (anywhere from 3-6 years). Then a person sometimes will do a fellowship for a year or two to further specialize.
A DO – Doctor of Osteopathic medicine program is also 4 years like an MD program, then a residency (sometimes the same residency an MD would do, then a fellowship). However, DO schools and degrees are 2 different things from MD schools. DO programs typically focus on a more holistic medical approach whereas MD schools teach the differential diagnosis approach to medicine.
DO programs have come a long way as DEI has infected many traditional medical schools. I see more and more DO’s, many of whom are white males. They probably didn’t get into Hahvaad or Penn or University of Kansas medical schools because they’re the wrong gender and skin color, many of these folks are going the DO route.
Wasn’t to long ago that the DO route was sort of looked down upon, ahh you couldn’t get into medical school so you went DO, but because of the above you’re seeing more and more orthopedic surgeons, cardiovascular surgeons, etc etc having come through a DO program – especially younger white men.

No, ODs are optometrists, not medical doctors.
In my personal experience, I haven’t seen an iota of difference in competency between a DO and a MD.
Anecdotal, but not all doctors graduate at the top of their class.
There are also a lot of doctors that get their education and or training outside the States and then immigrate here where they then practice medicine where they can get paid better.
All I can find is that she was against the masks and vaccine mandates during Covid-19.

Some readers have asked me, on Substack and on X, why I do not write in the harder register some MAHA voices use. The answer is the one this piece embodies: the documentary record on Saphier is mixed in ways the harder register cannot accommodate. She is not the MAHA Warrior the administration nominated when it nominated Means. She is also not the establishment-physician sellout the harder register would have to make her in order to dismiss the nomination. She is a credentialed cancer specialist who wrote the MAHA case under the MAHA title five years before MAHA was a political brand, who has a mixed but defensible vaccine record, who is sympathetic to the parts of the MAHA agenda that have the broadest public support, and who is going to be the third Surgeon General nominee the administration tries to push through a Republican Senate that has already refused two.
That is the actual situation. The right MAHA response is to look at it clearly, support what is supportable, ask the right questions at the hearing, and reserve judgment until the record on the floor is fuller than the record we have today.
The chronic-disease epidemic in American children is not going to be solved by any Surgeon General. It is going to be solved by the broader political and cultural realignment that the MAHA movement is one part of. Saphier, on the documentary record, is part of that realignment. Whether she is the right person for this particular seat at this particular moment is the question her confirmation hearing is about to test.

As Dr. Anthony Fauci’s right-hand man, David Morens, was charged this week with conspiracy and destruction of federal records in the COVID-19 cover-up, another scandal over the vaccine was unfolding on Capitol Hill.
According to a new Senate report and congressional testimony on Wednesday, Biden administration health officials deliberately ignored warning signs of possible serious reactions to the COVID-19 vaccine, including heart attacks, strokes, Bell’s palsy and sudden cardiac death.
Within three months of the vaccines being rolled out, in March 2021, red flags were fluttering out of the weekly data dumps from doctors and patients reporting health problems after the shots, according to internal emails and meeting notes provided by the Department of Health and Human Services to Sen. But when the FDA’s senior medical officer, Dr. Ana Szarfman, whose job was to monitor the vaccine data for warning signs, repeatedly raised the alarm throughout 2021, she was ignored, and emails show her colleagues tried to stop her from using a newer, more accurate statistical methodology to investigate the data.
Finally, in September 2021, the same month that President Joe Biden announced vaccine mandates for all federal workers and large companies, she was told to “cease and desist” her analysis.
The documents uncovered by Johnson’s investigation staff point to the same alarming secrecy and efforts to avoid accountability that landed Fauci’s adviser, Morens, in trouble.
The secrecy included instructions from FDA officials to discuss findings in person rather than over email and stopping or limiting the distribution of the weekly vaccine safety reports with the alleged intent of avoiding FOIA requests.
