How lovely to imagine sitting somewhere in an outdoor cafe on a peaceful canal somewhere with a leisurely coffee or two…or more…listening to music. Maybe a bit hard to find one these days. Wind blowing from the north. Sun is supposed to come out this afternoon. I hope so as it needs to dry up some. Beau gets out there and chases the squirrels and he’s muddy and wet all over.

The farrier was here Wednesday, and you should see Olive prancing around now! Uncle Ray, as we call him, told us it would take 3 or 4 trims to get her feet working right – and it worked! When she first arrived, she would just stand in the same place or limp a few yards at a time. 😔
Now, she’s giving Wheezie a run for her money. So grateful 🙏.

I was remembering Oliver just a few days ago, Pat. Don’t ask me what made me do so. The thought was sudden, out of nowhere. And I remembered how grieved you were when you lost him….nothing prepares you for sudden losses like that. We had a similar thing g happen with o e of the two farm cats our farmer neighbour’s daughter brought to our door one day thinking they were ours. Siblings they were, one of which was your Oliver. So loving. He’d follow me everywhere, and I was in love immediately. A car in our lane got him. Over twenty years ago, and I still grieve for that little mite…💔
God has sent me five black cats in a row. I’m now, officially, a crazy black cat lady.🥰

This one I found which was posted by a man who lost his much loved Siamese cat last week. She was an old lady named “Miss Ellie”. He posted photos of her almost every day. His heart is broken, as was mine when I read the news.
He posted this in her memory, Pat. It would have been just like her to sit and gaze. It makes me tearful to see it. But I thought it beautiful.

This gave me a belly laugh! I can so relate to this photo! Except it was a triple threat! The one on the stump could be a sibling of Bobby, the kitten my son Mike took and also a sibling of Pumpkin, although as she got older, she is a little darker. Not as tawny any longer. The one jumping could be Oliver (just not the same color), but none the less, the instigator. The first one to climb out of the basket, first one to climb over the gate and the first one to run like a banshee into every room that had an open door and first one to hide and wait to pounce on his unsuspecting siblings and me! Good memories and lots of tears.
I felt this one would speak to you, dear Pat. You’re not alone with the tears. Lately I’m remembering our much loved cats and Penny for some reason. The tears are instantaneous when I do…can’t account for this sudden weepines, or the flowing memories n which seem to cause them. They just are…

Good morning Betsy. I am late today. I’ve been busy making chicken and home made dumplings for my lunch and dinner. Also put together the ingredients for cinnamon rolls into the bread machine and am waiting for it to finish the process then I’ve got to let it rise, etc.

Evening, dear Bet. What an enjoyable post with kitty photos . . . A perfect Caterday expression if ever there was one. Little ‘Tink sends her welcoming, always gentle, purr. As mentioned, she is so traumatized by having mite meds in her ears that she even fights against having the meds applied to her skin.
I compensate as best I can by carefully removing her ear-mite skin tufts with a flea comb. I do this once a day with reasonable results. As I do the work, she always accompanies me with contented purrs The skin tufts are much reduced and she is noticeably more comfortable. We’ll see what happens.
Re: the coffee shop photo. I too, would love to find one of idyllic little spots. You’d think that seeing these on the ‘Tube an enterprising barista would construct something similar. One can only hope.
Attending Mass tomorrow and then lunch with dear friends. Even though I am unchurched, I am a strong beliver and not at all anti-church. I’ve been to several services with my friends. I’ve attended so often that the priest of their small neighborhood church always greets me warmly. What a nice, warm and friendly gesture for this occasional visitor. Be well, love. COMMENTARY FOR LUKE 14:27
Christ heals a man on the sabbath. (1-6) He teaches humility. (7-14) Parable of the great supper. (15-24) The necessity of consideration and self-denial. (25-35)
25-35 Though the disciples of Christ are not all crucified, yet they all bear their cross, and must bear it in the way of duty. Jesus bids them count upon it, and then consider of it. Our Saviour explains this by two similitudes; the former showing that we must consider the expenses of our religion; the latter, that we must consider the perils of it. Sit down and count the cost; consider it will cost the mortifying of sin, even the most beloved lusts. The proudest and most daring sinner cannot stand against God, for who knows the power of his anger? It is our interest to seek peace with him, and we need not send to ask conditions of peace, they are offered to us, and are highly to our advantage. In some way a disciple of Christ will be put to the trial. May we seek to be disciples indeed, and be careful not to grow slack in our profession, or afraid of the cross; that we may be the good salt of the earth, to season those around us with the savour of Christ.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Every time there is a holiday the various TV channels will show movies in keeping with the holiday. Of course, every October for Halloween we endure a month of nonstop slasher and monster movies. And during February we are presented with every movie a Black person ever appeared in.
It is also inevitable that those selecting the programming will often not be in step with those celebrating the holiday. So at Christmas we get Bad Santa. Last night, Good Friday, two days before Easter, while browsing the programming guide, I came across one channel who thought that getting in the spirit of the holiday required showing a movie about …. Moses. sigh

The Hebrew / Jewish calendar is a lunar-based calendar so some years the Passover period does NOT overlap with a Christian holiday.

Years ago one of the networks would show the movie “The Robe” with Richard Burton and Jean Simmons around Easter. I always liked that movie, but can not seem to find it anywhere. Would like to have a copy to view. Anyone have any suggestions as to where I might find a copy?

Pat, “the robe” is on the free, over-the-air (antennae) movie channel I mentioned above. It is showing Easter a.m. at 6, then again at 5:05p.m. both eastern time.
If you know how to change your tv from cable/satellite –> antennae, you can convert over. I know this works for my brother.
One of my favorite movies of all time is “Ben Hur” with Charlton Heston, I used to own a special edition with a bunch of “the making of” extras, there is a part where one of the new cameras was destroyed in the chariot race scene, that it cost over a million dollars, which was a lot of money back then and how the fim saved MGM from bankruptcy. ❤️
