We have open primaries here in Texas. Once a person has voted in a primary, he/she cannot cross over to vote in a primary runoff. I expect to see a runoff for Republican candidate for senator. Anyone who hasn’t voted in the primary can vote in a runoff. The heavier the Dem primary turnout, the few Dems will be able to vote in the Repub runoff. In a head-to-head, I would expect Paxton to win the Repub primary runoff.
Talarico and Crockett are both fringe/cringe enough to lose to whichever Republican candidate on the ballot in the general in November.

When “individual nations” throughout the world repeatedly show themselves to be incapable of governing themselves, we need not pretend that a “global” structure would be any different.
Example: Just look at what has now happened, on a much smaller scale, with the “EU!” It is rife with corruption and grift, is accountable to no one, and utterly fails to serve the needs of its diversity of citizens. None of its members can truthfully go to Brussels and say that “this body fairly represents me!” And yet, it has been in existence only for a very short time: it has failed already.
“Globalism” would do no better. Corruption will eat it from the inside out, while it attempts (supposedly) to tackle a problem too big to solve.
The only structure that will work is the one that has always (more or less …) worked: individual nations, composed of individual states. Notice also how the “United” States are usually not “united” at all, and how grift and corruption permeates it all to a sickening degree.
“Globalists” are simply greedy people who want to consume a much bigger pie. All for and by themselves. This is no way to try to run a planet.

We all have learned about the concepts of a Chain letter, or I think the British call it “Chinese whispers”. It is the idea that when people communicate an idea or message sequentially from person to person, what comes out the end of the chain bears little resemblance to what went in.
This idea can be loosely applied to the question about whether a global government is better than a nation state, or a state for that matter. The more links you have to put between a person and a governing body, the less likely it is that what ends up coming out at the top will be what we all intended. In this case, it is both the breaking down of the communication at each node, AND the fact that when you aggregate or coalesce the desires of the entire world, nobody will be happy. The EU has been a perfect case study in that.

This is not “Russian” doing. This all came from within.

Illegals should not only not have commercial driver’s liscenses (CDLs) they should not have any driver’s license for any motor vehicle if they cannot read, speak and comprehend English. Include Visa holders of all types from any country if they are not fluent in English.

Anecdotal to be sure ……but I recently witnessed a person with a Mexican passport as his form of identification wishing to take the written DMV drivers test in Virginia to operate a motor vehicle. The glaring problem was his “friend” was doing all the talking for the applicant who didn’t utter a single word. I was not present long enough to observe the outcome. He would have to be “documented” as in a work permit to try for a Virginia license.

By definition, an illegal alien is not a U.S. citizen, therefore cannot be issued a REAL ID. Whomever issued that in Indiana should be charged as an accomplice to Mr. Schulz’s death, plus I’m sure there are other laws regarding fraudulently issuing a state ID.
The feds are now charging airline travelers $45 that don’t have REAL ID. What’s the point of REAL ID, when states are issuing them without regard to the requirements? Just another revenue stream for the feds and restricting our free movement? I’d take REAL ID seriously if the feds start arresting, prosecuting, and imprisoning these state workers that give out fraudulent IDs. Minimum 10 years in fed prison for each fraudulent ID. There is an 80,000 shortfall of drivers. The department of transportation is do nothing, zip nad zilch to address this problem!
They could provide grants to assist transitioning vets, high school grads, and others to get CDL training. They could assist the trucking companies to stay afloat until more truckers are trained.
They are doing NOTHING to help and are just allowing the trucking industry to get run over by a MAC truck.
Trump tries to help farmers and hospitality to keep those industries viable, but not a peep from DOT.
Furthermore, Trump better wake up and smell the diesel on this issue.
Truckers support him. There are millions of truckers in this country and trucking is a multibillion dollar facet of our economy. Lots of small businesses. Like during Covid many will not survive the sudden loss of so many qualified drivers – even if they never hired illegals. Why? Because the massive sudden hemorrhage will be devastating to the industry as a whole. They will need assistance to survive.
There are always DMV workers that will take a payoff to issue an illegal alien a drivers license, even a REAL ID.
