I worked for an Iranian family who were well-to-do business owners in Iran under the Shah.
When they saw the writing on the wall and knew terrorists were going to take over their country they started getting ready to permanently leave their homeland, by transfering their wealth to foreign banks and shipping their treasured family items to relatives who already lived outside of Iran.
Being of the Bahai faith they knew they would be jailed or murdered if they stayed.
They often spoke of the beauty and rich history of their homeland, but believed they would never return to the country they once knew.
It brings tears to my eyes hearing Reza’s speech, and hoping that their family — and the children who have never seen Iran — may one day soon return “home.”
I’m sure many people are praying tonight that they may soon return. My prayers are with them.

At first blush, Trump’s insistence on Greenland sounds outlandish, but recall over 20 yrs ago I began warning of foreigners aggressively claiming Arctic resources and waterways – while America slept.
Russia was flagging underseas energy sources, our inventory of icebreakers dwindled to ONE reliable (against DOZENS of foreign-flagged vessels), and DC ignored my concerns of countries hogging new transportation routes that would screw us over.
In explaining Alaska’s strategic location (30% of which is in the #Arctic) I was mocked for ringing the warning bells… but really I was just before my time. So now that attention is finally paid, for Americans’ AND Greenlanders’ sakes the Administration should clearer explain this sudden interest in the Arctic.

Watched Fox for awhile tonight, which I don’t do often and the video they were showing from the situations there in MN and to me the crowds of protesters look pretty small. How much of the hype is being pushed by the msm to look much worse than it really is? I don’t trust anything they are pushing right now.

At 6:50 PM CT, federal law enforcement officers were conducting a targeted traffic stop in Minneapolis of an illegal alien from Venezuela who was released into the country by Joe Biden in 2022.
In an attempt to evade arrest, the subject fled the scene in his vehicle and crashed into a parked car. The subject then fled on foot.
The law enforcement officer caught up to the subject on foot and attempted to apprehend him when the subject began to resist and violently assault the officer. While the subject and law enforcement were in a struggle on the ground, two subjects came out of a nearby apartment and also attacked the law enforcement officer with a snow shovel and broom handle.
As the officer was being ambushed and attacked by the two individuals, the original subject got loose and began striking the officer with a shovel or broom stick.
Fearing for his life and safety as he was being ambushed by three individuals, the officer fired defensive shots to defend his life. The initial subject was hit in the leg.
All three subjects ran back into the apartment and barricaded themselves inside.
The attacked officer and subject are both in the hospital. Both attackers are in custody.
This attack on another brave member of law enforcement took place while Minnesota’s top leaders, Governor Walz and Mayor Frey, are actively encouraging an organized resistance to ICE and federal law enforcement officers.
Their hateful rhetoric and resistance against men and women who are simply trying to do their jobs must end. Federal law enforcement officers are facing a 1,300% increase in assaults against them as they put their lives on the line to arrest criminals and lawbreakers.

I saw that ruling – even Kagan went the right way so everyone sane sees that the “standing” argument for elections isn’t working! Would LOVE to see states like Washington be forced to count the ballots and announce the results immediately, like they used to do back in the dark ages when I started voting!

It provided far more of a “full story” than was necessary to read. Lots of personal details about the woman’s childhood, they/them orientation, education and employment background, names and backgrounds of her parents. In short, it seems the article was trying to turn her into a sympathetic victim.
The author should have simply included the many previous occasions on which she was arrested, and how she repeatedly refused to obey the lawful order to move her vehicle. She didn’t, so the officers removed her from the vehicle.
They have plenty of doctors in Mexico!

Be forewarned she does not like Americans, but has good intel.
Haven’t read the essay yet, however during that strike the Oreshnik and other missiles hit a drone factory and the Lviv State Aviation Repair Plant, which also stores and services drones as well as the gas storage facility.
Some speculate that the impact at the drone facilities that are underground was so intense that it damaged the housing/containment structure of the gas facility and it went up, too.
Seems like Russians With Attitude reported that part before any other news agencies picked it up.
Something about a UK defense ministry brass or someone had been tracked to the drone facility a couple days before the strike.

There’s going to be a big battle of the people against the big tech companies…the short version is that they want to hook directly up to power plants, bypassing the grid – AND – they don’t want to allow their power to be reduced or cut off during peak demand, instead wanting we the people to suffer blackouts so they can keep power. They also don’t want to pay the same cost as we the people do. If they get their way, it will drive up our costs and potentially result in periods of blackouts of our power.

Jan 14 (Reuters) – Connecting to the U.S. electrical transmission system has become the biggest problem for powering up Google data centers on the grid, as the wait times to connect surge to more than a decade in some parts of the country, an energy executive with Google said on Wednesday.
The world’s largest technology companies are running up against the realities of the country’s slow-moving power system as they race to access vast amounts of electricity for the expansion of energy-intensive data centers, which are increasingly being used to train and roll out artificial intelligence.
“Transmission barriers are the number one challenge we’re seeing on the grid,” Marsden Hanna, Global Head of Sustainability and Climate Policy at Google, said at an event held by the American Enterprise Institute.
“We had one utility who told us 12 years to study the interconnection timeline, which is sort of wild, but that’s what we’re seeing,” Hanna said.
In order to address the wait times, Hanna said the country needs to address permitting delays for new transmission, and utilities should deploy technologies that can increase power flows from the existing system, along with other actions.
Google is looking into arrangements, known as co-location, that might help the company circumvent some of the wait times by locating some data centers directly next to power plants. Colocated arrangements can involve bypassing the transmission system altogether and the long wait times associated with connecting to it.
“That’s the strategy we’re pursuing with colocation and our hope is that these can eventually be grid-connected resources,” Hanna said. Generally, Hanna said, Google’s preference is to connect to the grid.
Colocation is a complex and controversial topic, which has raised concerns about who pays for costs associated with the arrangements and what it means when power from an existing power plant is diverted for a single customer.
The issue of co-location is being taken up by federal and regional regulators, who are seeking to set guidelines around the costs and reliability questions raised by the prospect of building data centers next to existing power plants.
Big Tech firms are requesting hundreds of gigawatts of power demand from data centers to connect to the U.S. grids. But aging grid infrastructure in key regional markets and grid investments lagging behind the soaring demand are forcing grid operators to offer some alternative options to the hyperscalers looking to hook up their proposed data centers to the grids.
One is “bring your own generation”—a trend that’s expected to rise in the coming years. In many areas, grid operators are telling Big Tech to plan their data centers together with a power source to serve the facility’s electricity demand.

Big Tech Resists Powering Down
Another option that grid operators offer is to give hyperscalers priority access to power, but there is a catch. The tech firm has to agree to have its data center powered down or disconnected from the grid and using generators when demand spikes in the area threaten to overwhelm the grid and lead to blackouts.
Grid operators say they want to offer hyperscalers the service to connect to the grids, but at the same time maintain grid reliability.
Data center developers are fighting back against such proposals, The Wall Street Journal reports. Hyperscalers argue that the use of diesel-powered generators to ensure 24/7 power supply to their facilities could violate air-quality restrictions in some areas. Moreover, data centers cannot risk even a second without electricity supply because they run cloud computing services for vital sectors including finances and healthcare, Big Tech says.
So in other words, they want US to be without power so that THEY can have it for themselves…i.e. screw the people.
