A favorite from back in the day
Dear friends,
I’m just sharing some thoughts. I am not religious, I do not preach, and this is not an area I have ever pretended to master. I only share the little that I do know, and I see here many people who have much broader Biblical knowledge than myself.
But today I had a kind of flash in my mind, and I want to share it.
Genesis 12:3
“I will bless those who bless you, and whoever curses you I will curse…”

“And I will call for a sword against him throughout all my mountains, saith the Lord GOD: every man’s sword shall be against his brother.”
Zechariah 14:13
“A great tumult from the LORD shall be among them; and they shall lay hold every one on the hand of his neighbour, and his hand shall rise up against the hand of his neighbour.”
Biblically, the enemies of Israel were punished in three ways:
1. Internal swords against each other — civil wars.
2. Wars inflicted by neighboring nations.
3. “Natural” disasters.
I had this overview in my mind, and after some additional research I am putting it here in writing. You may think this point of view is deluded. I am not declaring anything here. But it does provide a certain perspective and information.
I will go nation by nation around Israel:
Syria
Syria was known for decades as one of the cruelest enemies of Israel. Israeli soldiers always knew that being taken hostage in Syria was the worst possible scenario. Syria attacked Israel in 1948, 1967, and 1973, and in recent decades joined an alliance with Hezbollah, enabling the transport of tons of missiles from Iran to Lebanon through Syria.
From 2011 through the mid-2020s, Syria was devastated by a bloody civil war. Over half a million Syrians died, about two million were wounded, out of a population of roughly 21 million. Around 12–13 million were displaced. Today, Syria remains in constant internal turmoil. Its economy is almost non-existent compared to what it once was.
Lebanon
Lebanon was not a historic enemy of Israel. In 1967, Lebanon signed the Cairo Agreement, which allowed the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) to operate from Lebanese territory. This was effectively an act of war against Israel and led to continuous attacks from Lebanon.
From 1975 to 1990, Lebanon descended into a civil war: Muslims against Christians, Palestinians against Christians and Israel, with Syria entering, and later Hezbollah and Iran. Lebanon never recovered. Its economy collapsed. Lebanese lack basic services such as electricity and water. State electricity is available only one to four hours per day. The Lebanese currency has lost over 95% of its value since 2019. The Lebanese government remains hostile to Israel in its official statements.
Egypt
Egypt was once an enemy of Israel. In 1979, it signed a peace treaty with Israel. While it is a “cold peace” and public sentiment remains hostile, Egypt has not attacked Israel since then. Egypt has had its ups and downs, but it is not in a civil war, its economy has not collapsed, and there is no bloodshed.
Jordan
Jordan was also an enemy of Israel and signed a peace treaty in 1994. While it has a high percentage of Palestinians and hostility toward Israel exists in words and in parliament, the king enforces the peace treaty. Jordan remains relatively stable, with no civil war or major conflicts, and its economy is not crushed.
Libya
Libya, under Muammar Gaddafi, was a strong enemy of Israel. He hosted, funded, armed, and trained the PLO mainly during the 1970s and 1980s. Libya descended into civil war (partially encouraged by the CIA), and Gaddafi was killed in 2011. Libya never recovered. It remains unstable, fractured between rival governments, with Islamist factions controlling parts of the country. The economy collapsed, and the currency lost much of its value.
Saudi Arabia
Saudi Arabia was never a true enemy of Israel. It never attacked Israel despite proximity. Saudi Arabia remains a stable and very wealthy nation.
Iraq
Saddam Hussein attacked Israel with missiles, attempted to build nuclear weapons, and hosted, supported, trained, and armed the PLO. He was executed in 2006. Estimates suggest that between 200,000 and 500,000 people died during and after the U.S. invasion. Iraq never recovered. Its sovereignty is severely weakened and it is largely under Iranian influence, with Iranian-backed militias operating on the ground. Despite oil revenue, the economy is badly damaged.
Iran
Iran has been the leading enemy of Israel for decades. This needs little explanation. As we speak, Iran is experiencing serious unrest. The country faces a major water crisis, energy shortages, and supply problems. Many regions suffer chronic water shortages. Rivers and lakes have shrunk or dried up, groundwater is severely over-pumped, farmers are losing their livelihoods, and food shortages and price increases follow.
Despite vast oil reserves, sanctions and mismanagement have caused fuel shortages. Power outages are frequent, affecting factories and home heating. Iran’s currency has collapsed, losing over 90% of its value since the early 2010s.
Gaza
There is no need to describe Gaza’s hostility toward Israel. Hamas called the October 7 attack “Operation Al-Aqsa Flood.” As of January 2026, Gaza is experiencing severe flooding, with widespread footage of flooded tents. Approximately 85–90% of the population has been displaced due to destroyed neighborhoods and infrastructure.
A large portion of the population continues to support Hamas. Gaza largely survives on charity. Israel still controls about 60% of Gaza, and virtually all Hamas leadership there has been eliminated, including replacements. Gaza’s future is bleak if Hamas remains. You already know the death toll.
Qatar
Qatar is wealthy and remains a serious enemy of Israel. I cannot say that Qatar has been punished or suffered significantly—yet—but it is worth watching.
Turkey
Turkey hosts Hamas and assists it in various ways. It is hostile toward Israel. Turkey is currently suffering from a severe economic and currency crisis. The Turkish lira has lost 80–90% of its value against the dollar over the past decade. Inflation has reached 50–70% or more, and living standards have fallen sharply.
In February 2023, Turkey was struck by a massive earthquake that killed 53,537 people. For comparison, Israel lost about 1,200 people on October 7, of whom 379 were soldiers and security personnel. In the subsequent war, the IDF lost close to 470 soldiers in Gaza. Turkey’s future remains uncertain.
Europe
Europe is diverse, so this is a generalization. Western Europe and the UK are on a self-destructive path: rising Islamist influence, low birth rates compared to Muslim populations, increased crime, declining economies, and the looming risk of a wider war involving Russia and its allies.
Israel
Israel’s economy is on a “rocket ride.” GDP has reached a historic high of about $540 billion—one of the largest in the Middle East despite a small population—and is projected to reach $1 trillion within a year or two. GDP per capita stands at $54,000–60,000, with projected growth of 4.9% for 2026.
Israel’s GDP per capita has now surpassed the UK ($50–52K), France ($45K), Italy ($38–40K), Spain ($33–35K), and Japan ($34–36K). This is per capita, not total GDP.
Major Deals in 2025 (many in recent weeks)
• Gas deals with Egypt through 2040 — $35 billion
• Germany missile defense systems — $6+ billion
• Serbia military equipment — $1.63 billion
• Google acquisition of Israeli cybersecurity company Wiz — $32 billion
• Xero acquisition of Melio — $3 billion
• Elbit defense deal with UAE — $2.3 billion
• ServiceNow acquisition of Armis — $7 billion
• India defense deal approval — $8.7 billion
• United States military equipment deal — $1 billion
• Greece military deal — $3.5 billion
• Morocco military deal — $1 billion
With Europe fearing a wider war, many other nations—such as the Netherlands and Finland—are now knocking at Israel’s door.
• The Israeli currency nearly reached an all-time high against the dollar.
• Inflation fell to 2.4–2.5% by late 2025 (U.S. ~2.7%).
• Unemployment is around 3.0–3.1% (U.S. ~4.6%).
• Life expectancy in Israel: men 81.5–82, women 85.5–86 (U.S.: men 75.8, women 81.1).
All of this occurred during the worst war Israel has ever faced, with a large portion of the productive population serving months—some over a year—in reserve duty. An estimated 25% of the male working population ages 18–60 served. Reserve duty applies up to age 40 for combat units and up to 45 for non-combat roles. About 35–45% of working men aged 18–40 participated.
And don’t say I didn’t warn you: if you are an investor, Israel’s military industry will boom after the war, especially given tensions in Europe and elsewhere. The war is not over—it is a pause. Iran, Hamas, the Houthis, and Hezbollah remain challenges.
Notably hostile Western nations toward Israel
Ireland, France, Spain, the UK, Australia, Canada, Belgium, Slovenia, Norway, Sweden.
Most hostile South American nations
Chile, Colombia, Bolivia, Brazil, Venezuela.
Friendly nations
Hungary, Czech Republic, India, Argentina, Guatemala, Paraguay. (Small nations omitted.)
Argentina’s economy is improving significantly, with inflation sharply reduced from 200–300% under the previous government. GDP growth has resumed, fiscal balance improved, and Argentina remains one of Israel’s strongest allies.
I hope this had some value. Again, I am not making declarations—I am simply comparing Biblical statements with statistical data and examining the perspective.

I called it several years ago. Canada chose to satisfy the growing anti Israel crowd and I remember like it was yesterday thinking, “We are finished!”
I can’t begin to tell you about how many factories in Canada are closing. Layoffs are in the thousands. We are collapsing morally and economically.

Quite a number of Christians see Jerusalem as the capital of natural Israel and the Church as the spiritual Israel, composed of both Jew and Gentile. God has chosen the natural Jerusalem and a remnant also through Election. God is so much bigger than our thought. Don’t scoff at Yahweh’s yearning love for His ancient people exhibited through the miracles He performs for them daily. He WILL eventually bring the remnant of natural Israel to faith in the Mashiach Yeshua, Jesus. Jesus saves.
Augustine was a dispensationalist originally. I am no longer sure that most MAGA are pro Israel. There is a turn and you see it on this platform very clearly.
Trump seems to still love Israel but DJ Vance is more with the other group. The pro Israel American figures are all painted as “enemies of MAGA”. Their protest against the hate of Israel and antisemitism is labeled as an “intention to divide and destroy MAGA”. It is my opinion that those who turn MAGA against Israel are the real dividers. And it is my opinion that it’s a distraction from the real burning issues of the US. Issues like the takeover of the education system my Progressives and Islamists, etc…

As always, a concise readable history (and geography!) lesson.
A major problem in this country is a basic lack of history/geography foundation within our educational systems and in the general population. So called “man in the street” interviews are cringeworthy. While the participants giggle about their ignorance, I’m appalled. Many have no idea what century the American Revolution was fought or who our adversaries were in WWII!
It has been a concerted effort by the left since the 60’s to dumb us down to this level. I’m not a quitter, but I do fear for the future of all freedom loving peoples.

I have been trying to post here, over and over that the US is facing an educational serious crisis and a takeover that is at the top of the list of priorities and an Islamic takeover in progress that you just saw in NYC but this is just one place of many and there is a connection as there is an alliance of the Muslim Brotherhood (sponsored by Qatar) and the Progressives , they are into the financing and influence over US collages. Also Qatar is getting involved in social media influence.
The whole anti Israel sentiment in MAGA is a distraction from the real burning problems of the US.

The following is a bit long but I found it worth it. It gets into the nuts and bolts of the financial decline of NYC and tells why this will be a permanent change.
The left insists that the NYSE will never leave as if that is the base of the NYC economy. It isn’t. Not even close. The HQ of the banks and fortune 500 companies across all sectors had already been pulling up stakes and heading for Texas and Florida and over the last year that exodus has been accelerating. It is those mega companies and all the smaller companies providing supporting services to them that are the foundation of the NYC wealth and power, not the stock exchange.
This a good presentation of the differences bertween collectivism (aka central planning) and free market decisions making. Collectivism makes social/economic agendas that are private while free market economic decisions are inherently social.
Since its agendas reflect private values, collectivism always turns to various forms of state coercion, to accomplish its agendas. In contrast in free market societies when things don’t work, society is free to change. This contrast between coercion and
free choice can not be more stark.
As long as freedom exists, people have the right to turn away from top-down collective agendas—thus like Elon Musk—capital will move to Texas . . .

My husband has always fed the wild birds. Years ago there was a male cardinal that would let him know if the feeders needed attention. One day this same cardinal kept following Gus around and fussing at him. Gus finally paid attention and the cardinal led him to a fledgling perched low in a bush and in distress. Gus thought the baby had something stuck in his crop so began slowly dripping water into its open beak. Voila! In a few minutes the baby perked up and joined the adult, male cardinal on a higher branch. The adult soon led the baby back to the feeder and began feeding it. I’ve always thought animals are much smarter than we give them credit for.
Among my other feeders I have two large cages for seed blocks. Always before I just kept a seed block in each one. But when the first cold blast came through this winter I started putting suet blocks in one of them. For a couple days no action. Then sparrows started hitting it. Then the nuthatches. Then the downy and hairy wood peckers. Then the red breasted woodpecker. And now the European starlings are hitting it also. So now the suet is going about twice as fast as the seed block.
I have had several critters hitting the seed I put down for the birds that feed off the ground and not the seed block or feeders. Primarily morning doves and cow birds. The peacock visits and feeds off it too. Possums are showing up frequently in the night to feed on it. And though I had seen their tracks in the snow I had never seen a deer hitting it until last night. Just a single young doe was out there.

Ravens/Crows are not only highly intelligent, but remember people and whether they have been kind to them – or unkind. They have been known to dive bomb the latter!
They generally mate for life and make an astounding variety of sounds.
We have a few families on our property (a group is variously called a murder or conspiracy or unkindness). It’s really a hoot to watch them interact with their younguns’.
Some years back our crew displaced our owl family, and though I miss the owls, they were not compatible.
Thank you nim for this video. I love the wild birds and have been feeding them forever. Growing up, my family always fed the wild birds through the fall and winter into early Spring. I have kept up that tradition. They are grateful for the feed and clean water I provide them. I feed them all year, not just a few months. In return they make nests close enough for me to observe their chicks growing up and entertain me with their antics.

My poor Tide got trounced in the Rose Bowl. It was a blood bath. My boys looked like a bunch of ants runnin’ around at a picnic gettin’ stomped on by mean kids. And wth was that 4th down call? Sheesh.
On a happier note, it was a gorgeous day, my husband felt well enough to grill steaks and we were treated to a magnificent sunset.

Our early swimming coach had to constantly drill into our little minds to focus on the other end of the pool, not the strokes we are swimming as we swept through the water – but see yourself already at the other end of the pool, and not only that, but see yourself as getting there first!
and find it helpful to repeat in my mind something the President Trump continues to remind us:
‘The Best is yet to come!’ and find that helps while swimming through the muddy waters our media likes to say is all there is.
Also, Nice poem; speaks to the heart as it is also very important to not look away, to see things as they are, even if knowing they are temporary and good wins.

COMMENTARY FOR COLOSSIANS 2
The apostle expresses his love to, and joy in believers. (1-7) He cautions against the errors of heathen philosophy; also against Jewish traditions, and rites which had been fulfilled in Christ. (8-17) Against worshipping angels; and against legal ordinances. (18-23)
(1-7) The soul prospers when we have clear knowledge of the truth as it is in Jesus. When we not only believe with the heart, but are ready, when called, to make confession with the mouth. Knowledge and faith make a soul rich. The stronger our faith, and the warmer our love, the more will our comfort be. The treasures of wisdom are hid, not from us, but for us, in Christ. These were hid from proud unbelievers, but displayed in the person and redemption of Christ. See the danger of enticing words; how many are ruined by the false disguises and fair appearances of evil principles and wicked practices! Be aware and afraid of those who would entice to any evil; for they aim to spoil you. All Christians have, in profession at least, received Jesus Christ the Lord, consented to him, and taken him for theirs. We cannot be built up in Christ, or grow in him,
unless we are first rooted in him, or founded upon him. Being established in the faith, we must abound therein, and improve in it more and more. God justly withdraws this benefit from those who do not receive it with thanksgiving; and gratitude for his mercies is justly required by God.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
