I’ve been watching General Flynn on Alex Jones tonight. Impressive. I’m curious what other Treepers think of what General Flynn is saying. It seems to me the smart move would be to put the General in charge of a task force to do what he’s saying needs to be done in the next ninety days or so. I would be ecstatic for guilty parties to be held accountable for their evil actions and be charged and jailed pending trial. Particularly in view of how the J6 folks were treated.

Contemplation: We have celebrated New Year’s Eve – the passing of the old into the new. Often we wake up wondering “What has changed?” For the world seems the same as before. We have the same problems, the same relationships with people, the same work situations and so on. In this time of the new, the New Year, the new cycle of welcoming Christ into our lives, at this time when we tend to be distracted by the affairs of life . . it is very easy to close our hearts and minds to the presence of Christ in the world, and ‘know him not’ but if we can take a different perspective, then we can use this time to discover the realities of Christ behind the interactions in our world.

(1906-1992)

American computer scientist & US Navy admiral who invented the first compiler for a universal computer programming language and is credited with coining the phrase ‘debugging’, dies at 85

Biography: Grace Hopper was an American computer scientist and United States Navy rear admiral who made significant contributions to the early development of computer programming languages and software. She is best known for her work on the development of the first compiler, a tool that translates human-readable programming code into machine-executable instructions, and her role in the creation of the COBOL programming language.

Hopper’s work on the Harvard Mark I computer, an early electromechanical computer, led her to realize the need for a more user-friendly programming language. This insight drove her to develop the first compiler, known as A-0, which enabled programmers to write code using more human-readable language instead of machine code or assembly language.

The origin of the term “debugging” in computer programming is often attributed to Grace Hopper during her work on the Harvard Mark II computer in 1947. While troubleshooting a malfunction, Hopper and her team discovered a moth trapped in one of the computer’s relays, causing the issue. After removing the moth, Hopper logged the incident in the computer’s logbook, noting that they had “first actual case of a bug being found” and that they had “debugged” the computer.

In the late 1950s, Grace Hopper played a key role in the development of COBOL (Common Business-Oriented Language), one of the first high-level programming languages designed for business applications. COBOL became widely adopted and is still in use today. Hopper’s work in computer programming and her contributions to the development of compilers and COBOL have left a lasting impact on the field, earning her the nicknames “Amazing Grace” and “Grandma COBOL.”

We are Blessed!

If we woke up to a new year, it’s only because of God’s Mercy and Grace.

The Lord is giving us another chance to thank Him, to honor and praise Him, to accept Him as our Savior and Righteous King. 
And, to testify and declare His Goodness.

This Scripture always encourages me when the new year arrives, knowing that all the nations belong to God.
And His eye will be upon them throughout the year.
He is in control … and His way is perfect!
No matter what may come.

The Old Testament book of Deuteronomy is so helpful to read at beginning of the year.
It gives us deeper understanding of how God wants and requires His people to live.

It’s convicting and eye-opening when we see how far our country has fallen. 
And we wonder why? 
Politics/government are not the blame.

Lord, begin with me today … Help us all to return to You and do Your Righteous will in every area of our lives.
For Christ’s sake,

COMMENTARY FOR JEREMIAH 29

Two letters to the captives in Babylon; In the first, they are recommended to be patient and composed. (1-19) In the second, judgments are denounced against the false prophets who deceived them. (20-32)

(1-7) The written word of God is as truly given by inspiration of God as his spoken word. The zealous servant of the Lord will use every means to profit those who are far off, as well as those who are near him. The art of writing is very profitable for this end; and by the art of printing it is rendered most beneficial for circulating the knowledge of the word of God. God’s sending to the captives by this letter would show that he had not forsaken them, though he was displeased, and corrected them. If they live in the fear of God, they may live comfortably in Babylon. In all conditions of life, it is our wisdom and duty not to throw away the comfort of what we may have, because we have not all we would have. They are directed to seek the good of the country where they were captives. While the king of Babylon protected them, they must live quiet and peaceable lives under him, in all godliness and honesty; patiently leaving it to God to work deliverance for them in due time.

(8-19) Let men beware how they call those prophets whom they choose after their own fancies, and how they consider their fancies and dreams to be revelations from God. False prophets flatter people in their sins, because they love to be flattered; and they speak smoothly to their prophets, that their prophets may speak smoothly to them. God promises that they should return after seventy years were accomplished. By this it appears, that the seventy years of the captivity are not to be reckoned from the last captivity, but the first. It will be the bringing to pass of God’s good word to them. This shall form God’s purposes. We often do not know our own minds, but the Lord is never at an uncertainty. We are sometimes ready to fear that God’s designs are all against us; but as to his own people, even that which seems evil, is for good. He will give them, not the expectations of their fears, or the expectations of their fancies, but the expectations of their faith; the end he has promised, which will be the best for them. When the Lord pours out an especial spirit of prayer, it is a good sign that he is coming toward us in mercy. Promises are given to quicken and encourage prayer. He never said, Seek ye me in vain. Those who remained at Jerusalem would be utterly destroyed, notwithstanding what the false prophets said to the contrary. The reason has often been given, and it justifies the eternal ruin of impenitent sinners; Because they have not hearkened to my words; I called, but they refused.

(20-32) Jeremiah foretells judgments upon the false prophets, who deceived the Jews in Babylon.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL

PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.

I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.

I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.

Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.

May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.

With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me. 

Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
