They pitch good benefits and free education, not disability, amputations and death. But you have to know is going to happen to someone guards, maybe even you.
Yeah this was something that I wondered about to and have been thinking about- what and where the National Guard really are and should be?
I guess being in the National Guard either has changed or wasn’t what I thought it was?
My understanding was that this was something that people could do that wanted to enlist and serve and yet remain ‘closer to home’, maybe that wasn’t correct? but it seems like it was how it was from what I was seeing.
I knew a couple of men that enlisted for the NG as older guys, but then to do this sorta work, their ages were fine.
I also didn’t think that they got then got the level of training that would be needed to wind up in a place like Syria.
It’s very easy to wind up behind the times in this rapidly changing world or even learning that we’ve wound up thinking something completely wrong because we’ve fallen for propaganda.
National Guardsmen were sent to Vietnam. That is why my brother enlisted in the Navy
They were sent to both World Wars. They are a reserve force that is supposed to be ready to go anytime and anywhere they are needed.
That people are ignorant of that really surprises me. It’s not just a free joy ride to Veterans benefits.
My son is in the National Guard and spent a year at the border. He wasn’t married then, so it didn’t affect a family. But it is a great follow-up to someone who was in the military since he had to move quite a bit during military service. He likes the Guard.
You should have known that before the swearing in ceremony. I worked with a guy activated three times during WW2. He served in Africa and Italy. The National Guards is part of the Army and the Air National Guards part of the Air Force. You can be called up at any time.
The National Guard has participated in numerous conflicts, including the Civil War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and more recent operations in Iraq and Afghanistan. Additionally, they have been involved in domestic missions such as responding to natural disasters and civil unrest.

I really think people need to understand that Professors do not attend these review sessions. At least not in big classes with Teaching Assistents. This is a TA show.

See Sundance’s repost today — that the killer shot the young woman conservative leader on campus first and in the face. She was attending the study with her group, so likely the killer got some of them as well.
I don’t have X but Laura Loomer also did a repost of the post that said the police told the family it was likely a target shooting of the young woman.
They are going after young conservative leaders (like Charlie).
Supposedly, half of all students end up taking that class. So it is not unlikely that several of the CR might be in it together.
But the CR will have students from all years and not all be in one class.
They also won’t hold meetings during class, or not distract CR students from studying in the run up to and during exams.
Also such review sessions are voluntary.
What irritates me is that targeting her had to be a personal thing. Go up to somebody and shoot them in the face. Very personal.
And it requires personal knowledge of her whereabouts. He had to know that she would be in this review session and where and when the session would be held.
Did she blurt all this out on social media? Or is he in her social circles?
Is there some interaction that he has warped into a grudge and vendetta?

I’ve never opened a social media account because I’ve never felt a need to broadcast my life publicly over the internet. People I want to have in my life are already in it, and we converse in the usual ways like we did before social media.
One thing I don’t do -anywhere- is argue politics. I find it a wasted effort trying to convince someone of anything unless they first approach me with open hearts and inquisitive minds.
The point of my ramble is that I’ve personally found that living my best life without fear *invites* others to follow. If they are missing out then I am happy to be a positive influence and a role model in their stressful lives.
As far as living my own best life, I don’t ever second guess or fret about doing God’s work here on Earth. A better way to approach it would be to legally challenge all these gun-free zones at the schools. They are unconstitutional and, as we can plainly see, only criminals will ever benefit from an unarmed and vulnerable citizenry.
All Americans, both public and private, should have the freedom to be exactly who we are, the freedom to defend ourselves from bodily harm wherever we happen to be, and the freedom to live our best lives without fear.

Nobody seems to care enough to make them follow federal election laws.

We’ll find out soon enough but I disagree completely. We were still a manufacturing-based economy when the technological disruptors you cite occured. Now the U.S. is primarily a services-based economy and those services are precisely what AI does best and most efficiently. Even services involving manual labor (lawn care, etc.) can and will be done by robots for a fraction of the cost of hiring humans. We will be at 10% unemployment within a decade but the chip makers will be happy and that’s what’s important to our government.
That is the truth, and those examples are often given, but what they don’t say is that the people who lost their jobs in the older industry were not the same people who got the new jobs.
Look up the Luddites. They thought automated textile machines would end all textile jobs. That was in the 1800’s.

However, the guy and his wife were just brutally murdered and the general public will have sympathy even though they may have thought he was TDS Crazy.

Most of the blowback, after Kirk’s assassination, was because the responses were celebratory in tone, Trump brutally suggested that Reiner’s unhinged political behaviour might have been a contributory factor for his son’s actions. Remember, Trump used to rub shoulders with these people, before they saw him as a threat, so he’s probably bringing to light something many knew about, as he has done on many issues. There’s also a wider point being made, hence the hyperbolic reaction from the target, the complicity of extreme parenting, from both ends of the spectrum, in their offspring’s actions.
As for Trump supporters, according to his opponent’s they’re already Nazis, remember and are, as such, morally evil, so if your not experiencing regular blowback your not really MAGA, or your not an active participant in the movement. I personally question the rhetorical vehicle he chose to use, but I certainly agree with the issue that he’s raised, and the message of parental responsibility.

This son was an addict and mentally ill from a young age. His addiction is similar to thousands of other sons and daughters of American families across the country. Prescription drugs administered for years perhaps and then into the street drugs like heroin. This man was a broken mental wreck who probably was using something that made his rage explode.
The parents have a responsibility to their children to give them good values, love them and provide for them. Sometimes all that isn’t enough to save them from a mental illness that starts very young, perhaps from birth really, exacerbated by medial protocols that include drugs from a young age.
It’s a horrible situation to be in and all their efforts at trying to help him just could not overcome the mental damage done over years of illness.

I was thinking about what just happened to Meathead and his wife today.
I grew up watching Archie Bunker every single day, we had only two channels that came in decent back then.
So it was Archie Bunker or Phil Donahue.. I went with Archie.

Today, hearing talk radio discuss this and reading what was being reported all day, I thought about the fact that it’s shocking tragic events like this that so clearly reveal just how depraved and psychotic the Left has become.
All the talk radio hosts that I heard today we’re fully aware that Rob Reiner was blinded by TDS, but yet that didn’t matter at all.
Shows were devoted to discussions about his immense talent, all our favorite movies, and what a tragic loss this is..
It was this over and over again.
No one cared about politics at all as they discussed this.
Yet when Charlie was killed, so many of them openly cheered and celebrated in the most ugly, shocking ways and it still goes on to this day if his name is mentioned.
Truly, you look at all the people around you and see how they react during times like this, it shows you people’s true colors and what they are really made of.

Jesse Waters had James Woods on his show tonight. Woods was a very good friend of Reiner via working together. Woods is the polar opposite position of Reiner as far as political beliefs are concerned, as many of us know. He gave a very emotional description of his friend and their differences not standing in the way of the good that their friendship brought to them. I can appreciate his making the distinction between being able to appreciate a person for their good acts and their differences on political views.
It was a horrible tragedy for anyone to go through. Their daughter found their bodies. God bring some peace to the family.
