Good mornin’ annie !! I was right here at work at the hospital as usual on Thursday night. But I told everyone in advance that I would make and have dinner on Saturday.
Saturday afternoon and evening was spent with family and friends, so it was MUCH better than being at work !! And everyone loved the turkey and the stuffing. Myself…I liked the mashed potatoes and gravy !! And later Saturday night after all the cleanup I slept like a baby. Gravy and tryptophan knock me out every time !!

I wish the corporate executives would stop messing with everything that is good.
I’m 70 y/o female and when I was in 4th grade it was a relief for the teacher in art class to give boys something to draw besides tanks, airplanes shooting ordinance and blood everywhere. They drew Snoopy on his doghouse, Snoopy as World War I ace instead, or drew him dancing with a flower and there went the rest of the culture. It was a “far away” soldier representation and no longer in reality. It is true and no one can deny it. That was the year we dumbed down the art of war and conjured the fragility of boys, resulting in them being fodder for PTSD and subsequently taking drugs and their own lives in the army and after they got home. It portrayed the insignificance of parents and teachers (voices as “wah, wah, wah,” to be dismissed and therefore not listened to) in the lives of children, replacing them with “psychiatrists” and dogs as best friends. Later Peanuts shows manifested the “inclusivity” and the gender of Peppermint Patty was, while not ambiguous, was a portrait of a “not typical” female. Long forgotten were the words in the Book of Luke.
I was heartened by the scripture in the show and it remains my favorite all through my life. I own a DVD of it and we plan on showing the 30 minute presentation it at our Sunday School “party” as the set of verses quoted in the movie our children have committed very well to memory in the last few years and are reciting in our Christmas program for congregation in the morning.
We bought the video tape, then the DVD. Started playing it for our firstborn in ’75 then played it every year thereafter until she and my son had moved out as young adults. Even then we kept playing it just by ourselves.

Could be parts on one of those I saw made @ one of Boeing’s part suppliers back in the late 90’s.
They made many parts and based solely on the various Boeing models & posters around mostly for Boeing esp the new 777.
The ubiquitous one being leading edges since the machines were 20+ ft wide.
Didn’t really get to wander around the plant much, broken equipment was already positioned in the maintenance area.
One thing about working on Forklift / equipment was learning about how things are made in the real world & finding out about some things that I never needed or wanted to know & won’t soon forget.
Imagine on the good days it was an up-lift-ing job…
but on the bad days you could just say…. “fork it..”
On the serious side, the large packaging/shipping department where I worked in the ’80s (for a major defense contractor) had an electric ‘sidewinder’ lift truck – had a swing front end could rotate forks to either side to navigate narrow aisles. It was ultra heavy and seemed to constantly have mechanical issues. It was old when I worked there, no idea how truly old it was. Can’t recall exactly but maybe a “Drexel” brand. I hope they improved those designs since then.
Most forklifts didn’t/don’t change much, only thing that really happened was mainly that the drive systems were “upgraded”.
Pretty much everything used GE Flight systems electronics went up in designations EV-1 was the first system, sound familiar… yep GM’s EV-1 electric car, I wonder what they were using. /LOL
EV-100 then EV-100LX added built in diagnostics ala OBD car systems, there were some specialty designations for niche machines.
Raymond forklifts had their own drive systems with built in diagnostic codes that required a password to get into them that was assigned by the selling dealer so they tried to limit repairs to the dealership.
I think all of them now limit diagnostics to PC based with special software so it limits customers to dealership only service… kind like John Deere products… plenty of videos on Utube about that & the lawsuits that started 20 years ago locking the farmer out of fixing his own stuff.
Drexel’s…. rare but have niche applications, one customer bought a new one about 2005… was the same might have had upgraded electronics.
When I got out of it, the big thing was to change to A/C drive motors from DC so became brushless for less maintenance but more $$$ for a drive motor & the associated DC to AC conversion parts required to power it. /SMH
Kinda funny to me to do that as every electronic device we use in our homes & businesses convert AC to DC 12 volts or less to operate. We have collectively converted about every device we buy to “cordless” for convenience about the only thing left in our homes that uses AC are big appliances, sweepers that haven’t been replaced with Roomba or cordless versions and small appliances… microwave… air fryers.
Guess the lithium batteries in all the cordless stuff is much more “green” friendly right….. right? /s /shrug
oh and as for “seemed to constantly have mechanical issues” generally after the first time something fails on it, then the problem is the IDtenT who fixed it, he didn’t really fix it to not fail again, not really intentional but just clueless “shade tree” forklift tech.
That worked just fine for a while with the first F/L place I worked for but when the customers start calling & complaining about why they have to have the same thing done on the same truck once a year & owner gives a 2nd repair free which leads to a 3rd free, you can’t stay in business that way.
To make long story short, that’s why I quit 1st forklift company as I saw & warned owner that was/is a problem but what do I know right. /s
They were out of business less than a year later.
Guess I need to digress from here…
Some folks cannot see problems right under their noses, and are seemingly unable to conceptualize the solutions. Then to add to their fate, they cannot get to “pulling the trigger” to actualize those solutions.
But that’s the good part of this big country. There’s always someone else who “builds a better mousetrap” and figures out how best to make it reliable and keep it working.

Good morning all! Snow started last night at my central Indiana home and has continued on and off all night into this morning. We’ve got between 3-4″ and it is still coming down lightly.
I shoveled steps leading out of the sunroom’s sliding glass doors and put pet safe Ice melt on them. So now neither Sherry or I should slip when we let the dogs out into their run. I also shoveled an area in the run for Geisha to go because she is much lower to the ground than Buckley.

Over the course of his 8 years that Obama was Commander & Chief the US military killed over 4,000 people with drone strikes. During those strikes the people were the target and collateral casualties were not an issue either because 347 of those killed were not the targets. That includes one American citizen.
Understand these strikes targeted people. Not vehicles or boats full of drugs.
Hardly anyone objected to that and especially not democrats. The only stink really made was when the American citizen was killed and the democrats defended that!

Brotherly love is the effect of the new birth, which makes obedience to all God’s commandments pleasant. 9-12 Nothing can be more absurd than the conduct of those who doubt as to the truth of Christianity, while in the common affairs of life they do not hesitate to proceed on human testimony, and would deem any one out of his senses who declined to do so. The real Christian has seen his guilt and misery, and his need of such a Saviour. He has seen the suitableness of such a Saviour to all his spiritual wants and circumstances. He has found and felt the power of the word and doctrine of Christ, humbling, healing, quickening, and comforting his soul. WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

45 t0 50 vehicle pile up on I-70 near Terre Haute, IN. How many times I drove that road? Probably close to 1,000 times I would guess. I-70 is hilly for 15-20 miles section east of the Wabash river. This is what happens when the road crews fail to do a proper job.

Has anyone noticed that toys for children no longer have any appreciable human or realistic world animal faces?
They look like bits of flotsam found under a microscope or tiny bits of something you would imagine was bred from satellites and tissue.
There is a six year old boy I know who is very attached to his stuffed “bits,” has named them and “thanks God for” these “friends” and gets very fraught when he is not allowed to bring them with him to church.
Missing several of the jump commands but still good enough!
