Last night’s daily prayers didn’t clear the filter. I have more that three links in it so it always has to be manually released by a moderator every day. Every once in a while the daily prayer shows up in the wrong location/bin(I forget the technical term) I think or gets lost in other peoples posts that are held up.

Every 90 days a CTH post automatically closes the ability to comment, so a new Still Hour post has to be published by Ad rem. I usually make a couple minor changes like adding a new verse at the top.
Very sad that we kicked these things off the front page.
But very funny that it has been replaced by a repetition of amens.
People who won by whining about having to scroll still have to scroll.
One of the benefits of the separate Still Hour post is I can post in the comments whenever I’m available. So I don’t have to wait for the Presidential Politics thread every night. I used to lose sleep trying to keep the posting schedule, especially when my sleep schedule didn’t line up. lol. So the new setup has worked out well for me.

Obama vetoed 2 bills while Democrats controlled everything, non while Congress was split, and 10 while Rs controlled Congress.
Mitch protected Trump, 2019-2020, not really.

DOGE is doing the job previously done by congressional committees. In the era before continuing resolutions, committees would hold public hearings on individual spending bills, going over them line item by line item. Now, absent any other scrutiny, line item expenses live forever. Thus DOGE is essential for government accountability in this reality.
If we were to return to a constitutionally ruled government, the leverage would be the President. The Treasury is in the executive department. The President rules the executive department 100%…constitutionally.
He has the absolute authority to write checks from the treasury to fund constitutional epeditures only.
By the same token, he has absolute authority to “order” the Secretary of Treasury to NOT write checks funding unconstitutional items. (Federalist 33 and 78). If the Secretary defies him and writes the checks anyway, he sould fire them.
Just because Congess okays unconstitutional spending by statues doe not limit the President’s authority over the treasury. He has the responsibility and duty to enforce the limits of the Constitution.
I would like to remind all, that those 38k also have union contracts and union representation and protections.
That is not mentioned in the overall scheme of things. Given the many very smart people in DOGE, I imagine they knew that…but we don’t hear about the union’s involvement/obstructions…

He warns that, like Covid, the coming human bird flu pandemic will be because Wuhan Lab-like labs are working to make bird flu contagious to humans, and Wuhan even published a paper in 2014 describing how they altered a furin cleavage site to make bat corona virus contagious to humans and gave us Covid, which Redfield describes as a minor pandemic.
If genetically altered bird flu hits people like it killed most of our chickens, we will wake up to family dead in their beds.

The truth is finally out. This was never about “skills” or “labor shortages.” It is a national white-collar racketeering system disguised as immigration policy.
• Fake jobs and fake demand.
Hundreds of Indian outsourcing firms filed tens of thousands of H-1Bs this year for positions that do not exist. Multiple investigations show companies filing in bulk to “reserve” visas, then scrambling to invent projects later. Some never place the worker at all.
• Benching scams now confirmed. Whistleblowers have shown that workers still pay to stay “on the bench.” Some pay cash, some pay through offshore relatives, some have to sign fake “mandatory training contracts” to justify the deduction.
This is criminal in U.S. law, but enforcement is nearly zero.
• Proxy interview factories. The DHS Inspector General flagged the explosion of proxy interview rings.
American hiring managers think they are talking to the candidate, but they are talking to someone halfway across the world. After the visa is secured, the unqualified worker steps in.
That is fraud by any definition.
• Multi vendor stacking. One recent corporate review found six layers of vendors between the client and the actual H-1B worker.
Each layer took a cut. The client paid $180 an hour.
The worker received $32.
The rest vanished into “marketing fees,” “admin costs,” and offshore accounts.
• IRS and DOJ are quietly circling.
Several body shops have been caught routing money through educational nonprofits, “temple donations,” and small shell companies that appear to launder kickbacks.
A few cases are sealed, meaning more are coming.
• Visa mills and college fraud are now feeding the pipeline.
With H-1B caps tightening, body shops are buying seats at low-ranked universities to convert foreign students into OPT and later H-1B workers.
