Corny, if you can, please watch the new All Creatures Great and Small. It’s on Masterpiece on PBS. A remake which is actually so much better than the first in every way. We started watching it because we had run out of good Brit shows, which have all been bastardized with woke everything. We were sceptical…
But oh my GOODNESS!!!! What a truly movong, beautiful series it has turned out to be!! When the Brits hit the mark with productions, they really do surpass. And they have truly outdone themselves with this one.
The scenery will make you gasp…the Yorkshire Dales. From the writing (superb), to the production to the acting (ditto), each episode is an absolute delight. Advice though….

Mu friend had an exotic car dealerhip which sold vintage Ferraris. He had a vintage’50ish Ferrari roadster that he invited me to drive. He cautioned me about shifting gears “which would grind” . . . I knew the roadster had “straight cut gears” which made shifting a real challenge. My friend, was amazed that I could shift without grinding the gears. My dad, a truck and bus driver, had taught me the trick of “double clutching” which allowed straight-cut ‘boxes to be shifted smoothly. That proved to be a useful skill to own if you were driving vintage or antique cars. 🙂
I’ve watched my Brit husband back a tour coach through a small opening, leaving about 6 inches either side, Garrison. People underestimate the skills need to drive those big beasts.

Well, the Pointer Sisters are wound up this am – they love the cool weather. (In the 40s!)
Afternoon, dear Corny 💕 Oh my goodness 😍 Living up to their name all right. And, well, so much for that lovely cup of tea 😂!! Obviously hasn’t seen the biscuits yet…biscuits being the British name for cookies as you may know.
And a Great good Cursday evening to you, dear bet. Just climbed back on after a day workin’ on my little car, talking to old tribal friends who know more than I do about this job (replacing the brake booster), and etc. Actually we were alternating between idle gossip and practical knowledge . . . go figure 🙂
I’ve been experiencing a cooler (not cold) house for a change. Turned off the air-conditioning (first time since June), put some extra covers on the bed . . . thoroughly enjoyed pulling the covers up around my ears.
Getting warn in an early fall bedroom reminds me of visits with my grannie at her drafty old Victorian house—covers stacked 6in high in a bedroom where I could see my breath . . . Loved it. Been waiting on this kind of night all summer.
Little ‘Tink of course was in her element . . . I felt the by now familiar ‘thump’ which announced her presence as she climbed on the bed. Then, there was the equally familiar little search as she looked for her fovorite shoulder spot now hiding beneath the covers. On finding her spot, she settled in with a contented gentle purr. She’d of course stay there for the night, only rising when I did the next morning.
For me, these small events are every bit as important as the formal fall rituals like Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. I think we are so blessed to have the love of our companion animals.
Be well, dear friend. And stay warm! Time for hot-tea or some strong Bustelo!

My goodness you do…like you, I find it truly is what others might consider “little things” which add so much to our lives, we as elders. If only those who thirst after big things could understand how precious small comforts are…
I always told my children when they were younger how comforting routine, and as you say, rituals are. No price can be put upon them. And so now I have told their children many times. I know they listen and hear me.

Biography: Sakichi Toyoda is known as the “King of Japanese Inventors” and the father of the Japanese industrial revolution.
Toyoda’s father was a carpenter and farmer who taught him carpentry. Toyoda grew up during a time of great change in Japan, as the country moved from the shogunate era to the Meiji era.

Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

“The Hebrews are urged to go forward in the doctrine of Christ, and the consequences of apostacy, or turning back, are described. (1-8) The apostle expresses satisfaction, as to the most of them. (9,10) And encourages them to persevere in faith and holiness.” (11-20)
(9,10) “There are things that are never separated from salvation; things that show the person to be in a state of salvation, and which will end in eternal salvation. And the things that accompany salvation, are better things than ever any dissembler or apostate enjoyed. The works of love, done for the glory of Christ, or done to his saints for Christ’s sake, from time to time, as God gives occasion, are evident marks of a man’s salvation; and more sure tokens of saving grace given, than the enlightenings and tastings spoken of before. No love is to be reckoned as love, but working love; and no works are right works, which flow not from love to Christ.”
