As far as I can tell, the earlier English Bible translations also said ‘fill’. Geneva, Tyndale, even Wycliffe. Though Wycliffe translated from Latin, he did precede the KJV by centuries.
The Pilgrims used the Geneva. But the KJV was made King even here in America. So I can understand why some might hold a grudge against it.
The KJV did try to use various resources to ferret out the truth. But as shown, it was still errant. And they also strived to make it a literary gem, which may also be a source of error. Face it, literary beauty gets trashed even in translations of modern language. But literary beauty from 1600 is pretty much lost on modern English speakers.
We have gotten much more resources today than could be found in the 1600’s. Even so, the arguments about what the Bible should say just get pushed back. There is NO definitive source for what the Bible is.
There are multiple versions in Greek. The oldest intact version is different from the version Christians eventually used. Not that we truly know which was oldest. It is just an artifact that has survived.
Our Old Testament tends to come from the Greek Translation sponsored by the Ptolemies and common around the Mediterranean before Christ. But we don’t have the originals, only stuff from around 400 AD. And we don’t trust it not to have been modified. We even have documented cases of Christians trying to modify it.
The current oldest Hebrew version is much younger than the current oldest Greek version. Maybe 1000 AD.
And the Dead Sea Scrolls complicate things further. They mostly were written after the Greek translation but before Christ. They contain multiple versions too. Written in Hebrew and Aramaic, most are only a little different from the Modern Hebrew version, but there are some that are not too different from the Greek version.
Of course, we don’t have almost anything from before Alexander died. This leaves a lot of room for hacks to say that it was all written after the Babylonian captivity. Prior scholarship showing traditions of two different gods, Jehovah and El, being combined and then a priestly version added and then Deuteronomy being added seem to have fallen to the wayside. Much like that scholarship pushed Moses’ authorship to the wayside.
It is always fun wondering about this past. Christ would have read scriptures in Hebrew and then discussed them in Aramaic. The area was ruled by Greeks for most of the time after Alexander, and the Latin speaking Romans also ruled the area in Greek. And we have Aramaic and Greek words recorded being spoken by Christ. The live by the sword / die by the sword, is traceable to a Greek play written long before Alexander. They have found a big Greek city just a few miles from Nazareth. With theater. I can imagine how a Jewish village family of carpenters might need to travel to the big city for work and be culturally contaminated, learning of Greek stories and Greek actors (hypocrites) and not thinking well of them. And I can also imagine traveling over an hour to find work and not getting paid as much as someone who showed up at first light.
When Christ was judged by Pilate, what language was spoken? Did either need a translator, or were both fluent?
I suppose fill VS replenish might make a big difference if I am trying to build a theological world history. But it doesn’t help me learn much about Christ. Nor does it make a difference to Christ being our savior.
But I have a question.
If the new earth is to be filled, is that in the same way as Adam and Eve were to fill the old Earth? Do the Redeemed also make Children?

OK, I have a question that no one answered in available comments in nitter & grok was also asked multiple times.
What is a “fen fen”.
According to urban dictionary a “fen” is a plural form of fan (sports I assume) (ie man men)
So is that like men rushing out to your car to sell you… ahem… the current drug of front page news or perhaps “ladies” or other persons of small stature for the same or other purposes?

I have no idea what the meaning of “fen fen” is. What I do know, being from Memphis originally, is that there is a section of expressway around part of Memphis that has always been “no holds barred” as far as speed and dangerous lane changes goes with little to no law enforcement presence. As a normal driver, you would literally take your life into your hands if you used it. Sounds like they are getting it under control.

I made a Bleu Cheese dressing for myself shortly after re-opening in 2019. Someone wanted a salad with Bleu Cheese. She called back later to complain that she had not gotten Bleu but ranch instead.

When reading or listening/watching, we often see reference to “following God’s Commandments”.
(And the results of not doing so) (mostly committed by “them”).
Yet I’m still unsure about what (or which) people consider the commands to be.
Some will say the 10 plus love your neighbour, some will argue it’s all packed into the latter. Others extract line by line word by word a total of 613 – 248 positive (do’s) and 365 negative (don’ts).
So what exactly is referred to??
Not to stress though, many of these (613) we “keep” on a daily basis without even being aware – like being kind to your world (plants and animals included), being helpful, generous, understanding etc, etc, – basically being a decent human being, while not adding to the “dark side”, whether by gossip (lying), being revengeful, watching your eyes, etc etc. (all the un’s)
But what most people often fail to understand is that ALL of these actions/non-actions are more than just “advise”, but when performed with “conscious” and willing intent, play a HUGE role in the spiritual “battle” as it were. Simple deeds done by simple people with the right intent. No need to engage in demonic battles (dangerous). Nope, the “commands” are not a check list alone – but the way to live. The good news of course is that when the Messiah/final redemption arrives, the dont’s will be irrelevant and the do’s will be common sense.
You could also say….. Bad s…t happens, good things take effort.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

I would add: “You fool”, but then we don’t believe in such “degrading” descriptions. God knows they’ve applied to us enough. We (should) prefer that any being, not matter how confused, hustled, or bustled, WILL be accepted even 1 minute before “lights out” provided they “repent” with an honest heart – even if it’s to say “truly, I did not know”. Ours is not the judges seat.

SNAP Program EBT cards load each month in the first 10 days. 42 million Americans use them for some or most of their daily food, and there is no plan to fund the system if the shutdown moves into November. Social media is already overflowing with postings about fear of hunger and violent threats if the cards are not reloaded on=time.
This will either cause the end of the shutdown by demokrats or spark massive inner-city violence and looting on a massive nationwide-scale!

Talked to a friend today about EBT cards not being reloaded in/for November.
She volunteers at two different food shelves in town and says they are getting ready for many people to show up on the days they’re open in November.
She also said that if these people are forced to use the food they get from the food shelf, they may have to start learning how to cook, and realize that the rock hard beans found in those plastic bags can be eaten — with a little work and seasoning.

THE IRISH ARE REVOLTING – well the government is.
A quick recap.
On orders from Brussels, the population of Ireland is now approx. 20% born overseas.
In a country of just over 5 million that would equate to the American population having about 65 million ‘guests’.
Some time ago the government (taxpayers) spent£140 million buying Irelands largest hotel/resort outside Dublin called City West.
It now houses about 2000 foreign guests designated as refugees.
The vast majority are military aged muslins, with several from the CIA war in Ukraine.
At the weekend a 10 year old girl was abducted and raped (allegedly) by a 27 year old ‘visitor’.
Last night about 2000 locals showed up to protest at the facility.
Strangely the authorities had already deployed the full riot squad, with horses and dogs plus water cannon to confront the protesters.
The state owned and paid for media gave this extensive coverage labelling the protesters as ‘far right’ ‘thugs’ etc – the whole gamut of insults.
Not one word was printed or spoken about the reason behind the protest.
Not only that, but the coverage of the alleged rapist never mentioned where he was being provided free board, lodging and daily living allowance. It was at City West.
Only at the very end of the RTE coverage (Irish State Propaganda TV channel paid for by a tax), was it mentioned he needed an Arabic interpreter. Naturally he was represented by a taxpayer funded lawyer.
He has been in Ireland 6 years, was down for deportation at least 2 times and yet could not speak English or Irish.

Obviously you haven’t had enough of them regular enough to build up the callus pads you need. Until you do this SF medic recommends you paint your feet with tincture of Benzoin and while still wet put on a thin pair of socks. Then put on your military socks over that.
the most severe blister I had like that was from a several-mile hike over rugged lava fields to get to an active eruption vent on Kilauea, Hawaii
the vent had started with thousand-foot high fountaining (captured in the film Black Widow with Debra Winger and Theresa Russell where they’re driving a jeep on the highway down from the erupting fountain), but by the time we visited there was no fountaining, just an active lava lake at the vent (Puu O’o). there was a crust of solidified lava over the whole lake, with bright red liquid lava beneath visible thru cracks in the crust. the liquid lava beneath was roiling, being fed by a main vent below. all the lava was feeding into a lava-tube system that extended all the way to the shore a couple miles away, where molten lava was draining and dripping into the sea.
at one point on our hike we came to a “skylight” where the surface we were walking on had caved in, allowing us to look down into the active lava tube. it was like a subway tunnel in size, with a molten lava river in it flowing to the sea.

A Green Light That No One Could Explain…
When my brother and I were little we shared a bedroom. At night we would sit on our knees and spend hours looking outside.
One night we looked to the left where our road ended at a T intersection. On the other side of the road was a cemetery.
A green glowing ball I’m guessing to be around 2’ round came with long gentle bounces through the graveyard and then onto the street we lived on. It bounced probably every 60’ and about 10’ off the ground. It disappeared on the other side of the railroad that was to the right of our home.
If my brother had not seen it and confirmed what he saw I would have swore I was crazy. What was it? Who knows. Ball lightning seems to be the most probable.
