Trump on Friday responded to Beijing’s most recent export controls by imposing additional tariffs of 100% on China’s U.S.-bound exports, along with new export controls on critical software by November.
The Chinese commerce ministry said in an equally lengthy statement that its export controls on rare-earth elements followed a series of U.S. measures since bilateral trade talks in Madrid last month.
Beijing cited the addition of Chinese companies to a U.S. trade blacklist and Washington’s imposition of port fees on China-linked ships as examples.
“The U.S. actions have severely harmed China’s interests and undermined the atmosphere of bilateral economic and trade talks, and China is resolutely opposed to them,” the ministry said.

Very soon afterward he was diagnosed with turbo prostate cancer.

Moms and grandmothers sometimes do things that are risky when they are threatened that they will lose contact with their children and grandchildren.
My children never put me in that situation, but I did feel threatened by reports that the government was planning to ban the unvaxxed from airplanes.
Nothing can stop a mom or grandmom from seeing her child or grandchild.
I’d tell my kids to go F themselves if they tried to tell me I had to inject myself with anything and immediately go no contact and cut them out of the will.
I would also post lots of social media and let the extended family know all about my great vacations I was enjoying with their former inheritance.
I hope her kids realize at some point they killed their mom.

Chuck Grassley, R-Iowa, the FBI secretly monitored the phone records of at least eight sitting Republican senators. While the bureau is said not to have accessed the content of the conversations, it could see who was called, when the calls were made, how long they lasted, and even the location data.
The ostensible justification was special counsel Jack Smith’s phony investigation into whether President Donald Trump sought to overturn the 2020 presidential election — a claim that has no connection to these senators and provides no legal basis for examining their communications, especially since their phone records were sought three years after the election and two months after Trump had already been indicted for allegedly trying to overturn it. The entire operation was a flagrantly abusive fishing expedition carried out with total impunity. The internal FBI document confirming the bureau’s actions was then buried in a secret “prohibited access” file, where it was recently unearthed by FBI Director Kash Patel.
The scale of political targeting is staggering. Earlier whistleblower disclosures showed that the same FBI operation did not stop with senators. At least 92 Republican groups and individuals, including Charlie Kirk’s Turning Point USA, were targeted. The 2020 election “investigation” was never a genuine inquiry. It was a coordinated campaign aimed at undermining the entire conservative movement.

FBI Special Agent Peter Strzok and his mistress, FBI lawyer Lisa Page, sued the Department of Justice over the release of messages detailing their role in pushing the Clinton campaign’s Russia collusion hoax. They said the release of the messages that were written using government resources violated their privacy. The Biden administration rewarded the duo with lucrative payouts. Strzok received $1.2 million in taxpayer funds while Page received an $800,000 settlement.
“[W]e have identified Brian Netter, Deputy Assistant Attorney General as the individual that approved the settlement agreements,” a DOJ official told the Center to Advance Security in America, which had filed a Freedom of Information Act request in 2024, when the payouts were publicly announced. Netter was the deputy assistant attorney general for the Federal Programs Branch during the term of President Joe Biden.
Netter currently serves as the legal director at Democracy Forward, a Democrat Party-affiliated group launched in 2017 to fight President Trump with lawfare.
