What a beautiful bench…I often wonder, who has sat on the many benches of our country…
My nephew for one, on an rather iconic one at that… about 20 years ago in Frisco? or Breckenridge? , it does not seem to be there anymore according to their website.
Now he has a just about 1 yo boy himself & a red beard and I have no idea where he got that red beard from musta got from mom’s side.

Ah a memory….Twenty years or so ago…maybe more…there was a drinking establishment in Port St. Lucie…I forget the name but they had two statues….one of Jake and one of Elwood and a bench next to them…somewhere in a box is a Kodachrome of me sitting on the bench in between them…with a big smile…if you don’t know, I worked as a nurse at Joliet correctional center, so the Blues Brothers are near and dear to my heart….
I should ask him if he wants any of the photos I took of him on this trip, I believe I gave them to his mom, IDK if she shared with him but she passed a few years ago, the first few months of WuFlu so no public funeral was held. (cancer I think)
His mother told me several times he constantly mentioned the trip he took with me on my last big loop of Colorado to finalize my current location in the state. He seemed rather occupied most of the time with his ?Iphone? only without cellular, he was always ecstatic when open WiFi popped up for him to abuse. LOL
I guess those trips to tops of mountains, waterfalls & Red Rocks were a bit more profound than I thought, I guess he needed a while to process them to compare with Tulsa OK.
Once he graduated college, he had interned previously @ the nuke plant S of Chi town & went back after graduation until he got an offer for something that he apparently couldn’t refuse & bought house @ that lo-cal sight unseen.

Wrong. Before we were a Republic of states, we were a collection of colonies. 9 of the 13 colonies required you to be a protestant to serve in government. Maryland required you to be Catholic to serve. All 13 required you to be Christian.

Virginia was the only colony with a state church and that was the church of England. Thomas Jefferson grew up seeing how a state church fostered tyranny, discrimination, and corruption. Thus the “wall of separation” letter. The letter was the corner stone for the SCOTUS ruling in Everson v. Board of Education (1947) that ruled for a strict separation of Church and State. Obviously the Justices failed to interpret the letter in the context of the whole history which would have clearly shown the letters intent was not demand such an extreme separation.
Jefferson actually believed that the wall should only apply to the Federal Government and that the individual states could govern how the state government and churches would conduct their affairs. Further proof of this is the fact that as Governor of Virginia Jefferson declared a day of Thanksgiving and Prayer but as President he refused to make such proclamations.
That ruling led to extreme applications by democrat politicians in power in various states. Now that extreme interpretation has finally started being rolled back in more recent SCOTUS rulings. Such as Carson v. Makin and Kennedy v. Bremerton School District are providing for a more reasonable application where by the religious monuments and scriptures in the public square are allowed.
Jefferson also created a cut-and-paste version of what became known as “the Jefferson Bible”, removing all the parts that he felt were erroneous.

Been using an inhaler every day for over 60 years – a true life saver. Probably why they’d like to reduce their effectiveness yet again!
About 20 years ago (?), the propellant used in inhalers was outlawed and an inadequate replacement was substituted. Same principle as low water use toilets – you must flush multiple times, therefore eliminating the supposed advantage. In this case, you use more puffs – but, even that doesn’t produce the “oomph” necessary to propel the medication deeply enough. I think I get their true motive, but, I’m not cooperating till I’m good and ready! 🙃
PS the powder inhalers aren’t worth the trouble.

Agreed. They say that at the approach of end times, prophesy will increase. I do hope the wheels within wheels, chariots of fire, and pillars of smoke will be a bit clearer though. Although we do busy ourselves diving to the depths of what these could mean, I have a far easier “vision” to understand, one that everybody already knows – on any level – If you do bad things, bad things are coming your way. Simple as that, and there is only One thing you can do about it.

I’m a little surprised that there are not more Columbus Day posts.
Maybe folks are taking a holiday?
Sadly, some states have eliminated Columbus Day from their calendars or……substituted “Indigenous Peoples Day.”
I would like to see “White people are badasses” day. LOL! They did not settle this country. They conquered it! They beat both those that were here and the wilderness it was to do so. And conquering is the way prime territory has been taken since long before human kind entered the scene! Many species today fight over the best territories. Lions, Baboons, even meerkats. It is natures way!
I think it is moronic to deny the ways of nature and the fact that mankind had to live and survive in it!
This one warms my heart as I worked there, at MUSC, many years ago…my first job and the best job I ever had, working in the Burn Unit…last I heard, the Burn Unit was closed for lack of funds and need as community health, outpatient wound care centers, care has taken over much of what we kept patients in the hospital, for….
Fast forward, 40+ years, my baby grandson, at about 14 months, was a patient in the hospital and had a therapy dog visit…it made his day…

I sent the prayer I posted yesterday to her… and she responded she loves me.
Heart soaring!
I’m very very careful… not to push, prod, or pull. I’m just here… a small island, open to her as she drifts closer. Safe and warm.
Our sweet hair dresser, a wonderful sister to me, reached out to her too. Got a video and photos.
Savannah is developing her village of support and this tragedy has brought such generous love of those who were in our sphere to gently go after her and draw her to them.
I couldn’t ask for more. Also spoke to my sister for the first time in 17 years yesterday. She found out her boss died while on the phone with me. The Lord is working on her too.
One more forgiveness I’m being drawn to extend… and this the hardest one, but imperative on my heart.
The Lord Has given me so much to be grateful over and some job opportunities that, pieced together, may prove beautiful, too.
Leaning only on Him. Your prayers for us are being steadily answered. I love you so much, brothers and sisters.

Worth a recap…
I set my tears, my worries, my broken heart, my guilt, my shame… before The Lord. Laid it at His Feet… for there was nothing I could do with it.
Then… then… I raised my eyes, my gaze, my ears to Him, my hands… and I praised Him for His Goodness. For all things and I yielded to Him to show me.
And He Lifted me.
Praise God, He Lifted me… and I am no longer bound by the chains of sadness, terror, or defeat.
I am happy in Him.

As a child I had a cat that unfortunately was skunked, or so I recall.
I set up little tub or pool in the backyard, and while she clearly was not thrilled, still she was good about it and I was able to get her pretty well cleaned up in a short time.
While she was good with everyone in the family (even the miniature dachshund that arrived after her,) …
from before she was weaned … she was mine.

Had a kitty tangle with a cholla cactus (you always lose that battle!). She let us pull out cactus spines with a hemostat for an hour. Poor soul.
