Sitting with Louisa and Olive at this moment. Olive is officially out of her shell! Yay!
She hollers for treats like all get out and is walking much more easily. Her ranch caretaker, Lisa, came to visit her again last week and commented on how great her coat was looking and how much improved her feet are!
Funny thing – Lisa commented on how much she liked our Trump bumper stickers and she hoped we hadn’t pegged her as a lefty because she drives a Tesla, is vegan, and frankly looks pretty hippie-ish. Ha ha ha.
I confessed that I had considered the possibility, and in fact had changed my Trump t-shirt that morning so as not to jeopardize her visits to Olive.
She’s been to 5 Trump rallies and I’ve only been to 4!
Guess you really can’t judge a book by its cover!

My Bad Boy did that to the Christmas tree twice and for a time, it was no more Christmas trees.
We now have the Christmas tree in a room with a closed door.
By the way, we are going for the record: the Christmas tree is still up from last year, and it appears it will become a permanent adornment of our home.
We’ve had so many cats, Chris, and Christmas trees.But never more than we had at one time (cats that is) than when we lived in Wales. I know they can’t resist a Christmas tree, but I swear never once did any of ours show one bit of interest. Thank goodness, because as I adore all things Christmas, our tree was always draped in Victorian fashion with garlands of berries and gold, and ornaments I collected there which were so whimsical, many with tiny parts which if whacked or played with would have broken.
We didn’t go so far as to add lit candles as the Victorians did (though my sister in law did…but then she didn’t have cars 😎 ). But there were times right before we put everything away that I wished I could leave the tree up all year…as you do 😍 🎄

I share the leftover turkey with them. The seagulls are the biggest so they use their bills to intimidate the crows and take the most of what’s leftover.

Good morning Betsy. As always, you have provided us with a very wonderful collection of images for Caturday. I suspect some Divine intervention helps you locate these.
My son took the only male left down to Marble Falls yesterday to meet his companion “Senorita Cupcake” at his girlfriends house. The Professor took her kitten home yesterday, as well, when she dropped off a bunch of English papers and quizzes for me to grade.
I now have Cleo and three daughters left here. Things have quieted down considerably, although I did make the mistake of leaving my bedroom door open and they were in and out all night playing with “who knows what” in the middle of the night. Will probably have to take a nap today. I will definitely remember to close the bedroom door tonight.
Will be looking for homes for Cleo and daughters. My son said if you are left with two kittens maybe you could try keeping them for awhile and if it doesn’t work out, re-home them at some point. So, I may end up keeping the two, “Percy” and Maizie”, at least for a while, and see how it works out.

Morning, dear Pat with the big heart 💕 “Senorita Cupcake!! Oh my Gosh!!! 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 I’m usually prepared for all names no matter, but that one has given me the biggest laugh I’ve had in a long time 😹. I am much more drawn to ” Percy” and “Maizie”. So dignified even as their behaviours don’t seem to match. I suspect as they get older their natural cat tendencies will find them lounging and sleeping more, allowing you, their servant, to return to some sort of normal life (if there is such a thing anymore…I’m beginning to think not).
I wish you had a good adoption shelter near, as we do. Every litter dropped by ferals who knew where we were and that this would be a kind place to land ended up there. Ours is kind, loving, and particular about prospective adoptors.
I am fascinated by the work you’ve been engaged for. And how lovely that you are able to do it from home. I suppose the quality of the papers run the gamut between passable to outstanding. So I hope your littles will allow you the peace to get through them, door closed.

Senorita Cupcake was a little abandoned kitten at my son’s girlfriend’s work last October. She brought her home and tamed her down from being feral, had her spayed, etc. Her two boys named her. Mike and his girlfriend decided they needed a companion for her. This boy looks like a miniature bobcat, so my son named him Bobby.
I grade her English quizzes, In-text citations and work-cited papers and other English related papers. When she gets really swamped, I will grade some of the essays.
She also teaches American Sign Language (which is now a language credit at the University) and I usually grade the written section of the ASL Final Exams for her, which is the History of American Sign Language. I read the information the students received and then took the written Final Exam to be able to grade them properly.
The history of sign laqnguage traces back to the Benedictine Monks in Italy, and Thomas Hopkins Gallaudet, (founder of the Gallaudet University in Washington DC), learned sign language from Laurent Clerc, a French , Deaf, School Teacher, at a Paris, France deaf school
Sign language was brought to the USA in 1816. Also during the 18th century, sign language was used on Martha’s Vineyard, which had a large Deaf Culture. Also, John Brewster, the deaf portraitist could write well and converse in signs, a family friend observed and wrote about it in December 1790. Approximately 60% of American signs are pf French origin. There are historical records about Martha’s Vineyard’s deaf community.
It was a fascinating read and was glad I had the opportunity to learn about it. I can sign a little and I know the alphabet and I have learned Praise and Worship songs for church services as the Professor goes to my church, and that is one of her gifts the Lord has provided her to bring to the church services.
I’ll quit now, as I could go on and on about the sign language history, it’s ups and downs! It has a volatile history here in the states!

“So this song was based on an experience I had travelling in the Southeast about 10 years ago and I was at the Atlanta University complex for business for a day. That comprises Spellman College, Clark Atlanta University and Morehouse College. At the end…I was having a hard time travelling the road. At the end of the day I walked into the Morehouse Student Union. And sometimes when I went on the road, I brought a travel guitar with me. But I only brought a pick and a capo with me on that trip. And I thought maybe at some point I would find somebody to play music with.
So I was in the student union waiting to get a coffee or something late in the afternoon and there were three students. Morehouse is a historically black college and I was the only Caucasian anywhere in the building, or certainly in the Student Center at that time.
One of the young men in line in front of me had a guitar so I struck up a conversation with him and we started talking. And at the end, it was one young man, one young woman and I who talked for almost two hours. By the end of it, we were holding hands. They were basically praying for me.
At the time, I wasn’t entirely, I was open to but not entirely open to the message they were giving me, but I was so moved by what happened, that I wanted to remember it and I wrote this song. It is called Brother Christopher’s Prayer.”

Having experienced His welcoming Presence in similar settings over the years—when I read accounts like yours my first thought is This Is How It’s Done. Of course I’d never try to claim that this is the only way. But it is a very good way to Experience Our Lord’s Loving Presence.

Biography: Angela Lansbury had an acting career which spanned seven decades, encompassing film, stage, and television. Her most recognizable roles were playing Jessica Fletcher in ‘Murder, She Wrote’, the title role in the Broadway musical “Mame!”, and the voice of Mrs. Potts in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast”.
Angela Lansbury was born to an Irish actress mother and English timber magnate and Communist politician father. Her father died when she was about 10. At the start of World War II, her mother took her and her brothers to live in New York City. In New York, Angela studied acting, then moved to Hollywood taking small film roles.
After some level of success, but finding herself typecast as an older villainous character, she embraced work on the stage. Finding success in both New York and London, she gained the ability to be more selective of her screen roles. In 1962, she won acclaim for her work in the film “The Manchurian Candidate”, and in 1966 garnered her first of five competitive Tony Awards in the title role of the musical “Mame!”.
She moved to a farm in Ireland in the 1970s, to concentrate on family issues, while continuing to work on the West End and Broadway. The development of the television detective series “Murder, She Wrote” led to her signature role as crime solving mystery novelist Jessica Fletcher. The series ran from 1984-2003 and while never winning, she was nominated for 18 Emmy Awards.
She was married twice – very briefly to an older actor in 1945, and then in 1949 to Pete Shaw, an actor, producer, and fellow Brit living in America, until his death in 2003.

“This recent West Point graduate is Alex Idrache. He grew up in a slum in Haiti, and he tells the story of how U.S. soldiers were deployed to his neighborhood following the earthquake there several years ago. He says their presence was the first experience of “hope” he recalls in his childhood. He remembers looking at his dad and asking him who the people were that were helping. His dad looked at him and said, “They are American soldiers.” He looked back at his father and said, “One day, I will be an American soldier.” His father knew the situation in Haiti was unworkable and tried for several years to obtain a visa to come to the United States.
After being denied for several years, he was finally granted a spot in Baltimore. He purchased a ticket on a boat for his family and left Haiti. They arrived and Alex, remembering his dream in the slum several years prior, looked for a way to join the U.S. Army. He found a national guard program that allowed him to join the Army in exchange for citizenship. He didn’t hesitate.
After a series of fortunate occurrences, he was given one of the few spots at West Point for prior enlisted soldiers. Despite his severe lack of formal education, he graduated as an honor graduate (top 5% physically and academically) and the top student in the Physics Department. This picture was taken just prior to tossing his hat in the air, the realization of a dream that began 10 years ago in a slum in Port-au-Prince.”

I watched the Antifa Round Table and one of the takeaways was that the President is isolated. Sundance several days or weeks ago talked about the importance of making Antifa a foreign terrorist organization. It should have been done during the original announcement. But it wasn’t. COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 25
Confidence in prayer. (1-7) Prayer for remission of sins. (8-14) For help in affliction. (15-22)
(1-7) In worshipping God, we must lift up our souls to him. It is certain that none who, by a believing attendance, wait on God, and, by a believing hope, wait for him, shall be ashamed of it. The most advanced believer both needs and desires to be taught of God. If we sincerely desire to know our duty, with resolution to do it, we may be sure that God will direct us in it. The psalmist is earnest for the pardon of his sins. When God pardons sin, he is said to remember it no more, which denotes full remission. It is God’s goodness, and not ours, his mercy, and not our merit, that must be our plea for the pardon of sin, and all the good we need. This plea we must rely upon, feeling our own unworthiness, and satisfied of the riches of God’s mercy and grace. How boundless is that mercy which covers forever the sins and follies of a youth spent without God and without hope! Blessed be the Lord, the blood of the great Sacrifice can wash away every stain.

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
