I have always believed you go straight to God.
Intercessory prayer are people praying straight to God for others.
I have done a lot of intercessory prayer.

I prayed & took care of them.
Watched them as they died, then think of them as they go into eternity.
I worry about people getting things wrong.

Knowing full well that he does not believe in praying to an angel.
So, those posters who continue to respond to him in this way are a bit of an instigator.
Dan has been posting here for a very long time, and bothers no one.
If the posters want to post the Michael prayer, they can do so by starting a new comment.
There are other people here who post that prayer without attaching it to Dan’s post.
This would be respectful and considerate for all.

Hello Bird … Everyone is made in the image of God; and, we all deserve respect as you stated.
I was only hoping to diffuse a testy situation – explaining how I see it.
Bird, for those of us who are believers in Jesus Christ, may He give us wisdom, self-control, patience and everything else needed to interact with others.
The devil would like nothing better than to divide people who want to follow Christ.
And, I personally don’t feel this forum is the right place to preach either.
We’re too limited here to properly dialogue and understand each other.
The Lord brought a Scripture to mind while reading this thread:

haughty eyes, a lying tongue,

Bird, verse 19 gets my attention to listen to the Lord.
I certainly do not want to displease Him in any way.
And, I’m sure you don’t either.
We’re all wanting to be right with God – and bickering is an obstacle to that.

“Are not all angels ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation?” – Hebrews 1:14
“Saints” refers to Christians, the “holy ones,” those set apart for special service to God – the consecrated making up the Body of Christ. In the Book of Acts, it is used by the apostle in various places, always referring to believers. Angels in the Bible are never referred to as saints. And although they do minister to, and serve, the believers on behalf of God, there is no scriptural passage that suggests that angels intercede for saints to the Father or that we should ever pray to them.
The apostles, especially Paul in his letters, combated the persistent Gnostic belief in a spiritual hierarchy of intercessors leading up to heaven. But what does the Bible say:
“Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.” – Hebrews 4:16
As a consequence of Christ ripping apart the veil that separated fallen humanity away from a holy God, when we are saved we have direct access to the throne of God – no need for intermediaries. And for those times when we falter and cannot find the words? Well, God Himself, in the person of the Holy Spirit, steps in:
“In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.” – Romans 8:26
The pathway to the Father has been cleared by the shed blood of Christ and he invites you to come to the throne, redeemed Child of God, and receive his love and help!

A little military history with a ship I actually had a voyage on…where I learned of my ability to get sea sick while on board yet docked in the Port of New Orleans.
Dad had explained about ‘where’ the water came from, on the cruise ships…forgetting that fact, when the Captain let us use the pool, filled with crystal clear water….doing a running cannonball, leaping over the side of the pool, splash…and opening my mouth a moment too soon, got a mouthful of sea water…I clearly remember the ‘oh no’ moment as the salt water hit my mouth and I realized “I forgot”….

(1-11) “Here are three words, upon any of which stress may be laid. Upon the word troubled. Be not cast down and disquieted. The word heart. Let your heart be kept with full trust in God. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.

Bedraggled, jet lagged, going the motions on autopilot as I climbed onto the tour coach he was driving on my first trip to the UK…that was me. I never noticed him until two days into the 10 day schedule. But for some inexplicable reason (to me) he has never failed to tell me that he knew instantly. Who can explain such a moment?
Six days was all it took for both of us, 38 years married. Ups and downs (some very deep), we’ve had them all, two imperfect souls with strong personalities and human frailties who hitched ourselves to one another for the rest of our earthly journeys.

Morning Patience. Is that called ‘running on hay’???
Walking around our trees yesterday a squirrel ran to a nearby tree. I paused. She looked around the bole at me, ran down the tree and started towards me – maybe 2 feet away? I flinched, waved my hand and she fled.
I wonder if someone is feeding the few local squirrels.

I wasn’t sure I wanted her closer. Did you see my post from the other day? Put a squirrel next to your ear and learn what it feels like to be attacked by a squirrel?
I think I’ll let wild creatures be wild.
I put our peanuts, un salted in the shell, and the jays get them before the squirrels.
My father used to feed the birds. Then he caught the squirrels in the feeders.. so he bought 50 lb burlap bags of corn, sunflower seeds, and peanuts from Wanamaker Feed and Seed.. and just fed everyone.
I’ve never, not once, had a wild animal destroy anything of mine. We lived peacefully and joyfully and, Lord, how I miss them so.
I snuck some raw chopped almonds outside to bless “someone” today. It’s also a great way to use up wrinkling grapes and apples and those dried cranberries.
So good for them.
Don’t give squirrels too many shelled nuts. They need to keep those teeth worn down. They can actually die of starvation if they only get shelled nuts because they can’t eat of their teeth get too long.

Hey! I actually got something done today!
I have a smaller log rack I have kept on the deck outside the backdoor. Now the sliding glass door to the sun room is closer to the fireplace than the backdoor.
Before I could move the wood I had to blow of the tires of my log hauling two wheeler cart. Got that done then emptied that rack, moved it to the space between the concrete steps coming out of the sun room and the wall of the house. I then filled that rack and put it’s cover on it.
Now we have a handy supply of firewood for the insert even if there is heavy snow or weather that makes it a pain to get wood from the lean too.
Tomorrow I will bring in the ornamental log rack that we use in the house and begin to fill it so we’ll be ready when the real cold comes.
Hopefully we don’t get really cold weather until the chimney sweep comes the 11th of Nov.

Praise Your holy name Heavenly Father, for granting yet another day in my life and for being with me every step of the way. Thank You for the many blessings that You have provided and the love and fellowship that I have with the friends and family that in Your grace You have placed in my life.
My heart is so thankful for all the many blessings that I enjoy day by day, and today I am once again reminded that Your mercies are new every morning and Your faithfulness endures from generation to generation.
Thank You, that I have been brought into Your family and have been made a child of God and a citizen of heaven. Words cannot express my love and devotion to You Lord
I pray that You would watch over me as I rest tonight, and that You would give me a restful night’s sleep so that I may wake up in the morning refreshed in body and spirit and ready to do Your will. Guard all those that I love and may we all grow in grace and in a knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ in the days that lie ahead. This I ask in His precious name,

Prayer Of Reflection On The Past Day
Loving Lord, as the day is coming to an end, I want to thank You for being with me in all that has taken place today. I also want to lay the whole day before You, asking that you would show me if there is anything that I have done to hurt or harm another person unknowingly, or if I have done anything that is displeasing in Your sight, or quenched the work of the Spirit in me, so that I may turn away from such things in the days that lie ahead.
Lord, I desire to do Your will in all things. I pray that You would cleanse me of any wrong thoughts or attitudes that may have surfaced in my heart today. Wash me in Your cleansing flood, I pray.
Thank You, that You are a God who forgives our transgressions when we are willing to confess them to You, knowing that such cleansing before You immediately draws us back into sweet fellowship with Yourself.
Give me a good night’s rest I pray, and may I rest quietly in Your loving arms in the knowledge that in Christ, I am eternally secure, due to Your amazing grace, for which I praise You. In Jesus’ name,

Evening Prayer For Forgiveness
Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,
