She laments that “democratic process” is a “drag” and that “speed is of the essence.” She is frustrated that her grand vision—a Digital Euro—is being slowed down by the tedious necessity of parliamentary debate and public scrutiny.

The Digital Euro, the Capital Markets Union, the Banking Union—these are not tools for your freedom. They are the architecture for a system of total financial surveillance and control. They will decide what you can buy, where you can spend, and will have the power to freeze you out with the click of a button.
Lagarde is right about one thing: time is running out. But not for their project. It’s running out for us to wake up, organize, and defend our national sovereignty and economic liberty from these unaccountable elites.
The greatest threat to our freedom is not being “left in the dust,” but being locked in a digital cage we never agreed to.

The lawsuit calls this “institutionalized theft.”
For decades, counties in Illinois have sold unpaid tax bills to third parties, who in the course of subsequent steps can gain ownership of the property.
If a property owner is $15,000 behind on the taxes on a home that is worth $40,000 on the market the court said, the property owner has the constitutional right to be compensated for the difference, $25,000.
But under the way counties’ tax sales were operated in Illinois and 13 other states, the homeowner loses the entire $40,000 because of a $15,000 tax debt. The Supreme Court said the other 36 states and the federal government do it right; they “require that the excess value be returned to the taxpayer.”
U.S. District Judge Nancy J. Rosenstengel ruled that a class action lawsuit can go forward. Illinois counties could be required to pay millions of dollars to former homeowners.
St. Clair County sold Don Gilliam’s house in East Carondelet over about $10,000 in unpaid taxes, according to the lawsuit. Because the house had a market value of about $112,000, Gilliam lost roughly $102,000 in home equity.
