I’ve found that there is rarely a true example of “nondenominational”. If you listen long enough, one can determine their theology. In the past, I’ve attended these churches. My observations is they stand for nothing, but rather invent their own doctrine, which is typically arbitrarily and often involves a cult of personality, related to the “pastor”(term applied loosely). I’m thankful for discovering the Catholic Church. It has strengthened my walk.
Maybe some are like that but not all. The non-denominational Christian church that I belong to does not have any central authority. It is more of a confederation of independent churches whose only doctrine is the Bible. If a certain topic is covered in the Bible then that is what it is. If it is not covered in the Bible then it is open to interpretation.

I agree. I visited several and never liked a single one. My ex husband picked one (because I didn’t like any of them) and I was happy to let him keep it in the divorce. It was clear to me from my Baptist upbringing that they were Baptists who wanted more people to drop money in the collection plate so they tried to hide whatever they really stood for and offer a little something for everyone. They offered communion after the service in a separate building for people who wanted that. They didn’t display a cross in the sanctuary except for the 5 weeks before Easter, for crying out loud. No need to scare off any Jews.
I think as our society became more secular and congregations dwindled, someone came up with the idea of a one-size-fits-all church instead of finding innovative ways to remain steadfast in their beliefs and customs. They could have found ways to share facilities with other churches, or added income streams from renting the campus they only use for 4-5 hours a week for other uses, adding a preschool, etc. but they chose to try to cater to everyone. To me, learning that things that previously seemed essential were not actually that important (like having a cross to bow in front of) caused me to question what else was just habit or ritual.

The Akh: This past winter, for the first time in my life as a skier (since the early 1970s), while skiing in Utah (also for the first time), my skis and pole were stolen. Utah is the last place I would have expected my skis to be stolen.
Oh, well. Back to crime-free Aspen (not).

Question. This guy is old… makes me wonder. Are there lots more creeps, freaks, pervs, and crazies these days than in the past, or are they just “out”, and because of the internet, showing themselves, feeling normalized, and yakking on social media?

Tracks, sure does. What the heck have we spawned in this country? He’s what, 71 in age? You would think at that age he’d be smarter than that. He will not do well in prison hopefully for the rest of his life.

This guy is an accessory after the fact for attempting to aid in the escape. In Utah, he can be charged with the murder and face life in prison if convicted.
On another note, I will wait for the autopsy and the 3D computer modeling of the shot trajectory based upon entry and exit wounds. There is already some modeling taking place by citizen journalists based upon audio and video of the event that conclude the mortal shot did NOT come from Robinson’s position.
Similar to RFKJr doing the same thing for his father’s murder, and discovering that none of the shots fired by Sirhan in front hit RFK, and the deadly shot not only came from behind but there were powder burns on RFK, so up close. That means a second shooter, and RFKJr not only knows who it was but where he is.
So I will wait for the forensics. Oh, and Butler? At least 2 shooters (I tend to go with 3) based upon the 3D modeling of shot trajectories and crowd reactions by, once again, citizen journalists. Not terribly different from Sundance digging out the origin of “hands up don’t shoot”a few years back.
Oh, and do I think they are ALL related? Yup. And I am NOT hinting at Israel, so everyone can save their accusations.
So I am waiting for the forensics.
