President Trump is transparent in his words and actions. He is consistent in what he says, what he does, and what he asks/demands of others. His promises are bold and he keeps them like no other president has. He is making massive, nearly overnight changes, not only in our country, but in the world. It is amazing that he is able to accomplish so much when there are so many snakes in the grass. This term, he is weeding them out faster. No U.S. president has ever faced so much organized resistance and treason than President Trump
The purpose and goals of President Trump are plainly visible by his actions and consistent: He is for the benefit first of the common PEOPLE of this country, then of the PEOPLE in the rest of the world. It is validating, even to our battered conservative skepticism.
The methods of his leadership are amazing. I still don’t get HOW he does it, or HOW he is able to get so much momentum going, but every day the momentum is growing. Everyone and every organization has their eyes opened every day — just by watching him. Even those who hate him, are biased against him, and want to see him gone — cannot ignore him. He lives rent free in their head, and they come around to seeing the universal principles by which he is operating. He hammers actions based on truth from one direction, then another, and they cannot mount an organized opposition against him.
He has chosen to use his intellect and every skill he has to do what is right. He has tremendous faith that he can make a difference in this world. He has a confidence and courage such that he doesn’t care what others think, yet a humility to know he has to do it with the help of like minded people. Those people are the “common” people, and he ridicules those who think they are not common.
He believes people are basically good. He believes that God is real. He believes that healthy people are happy people, and they need to be able to create wealth freely for their labor, and have the freedom to spend their money on what is good for them.
He believes the United States, with its Constitutional Republic, is the best environment in the world to enable and give opportunity for people to be happy and prosperous.
He believes that we can be a light for the world, but we must demand that the rest of the world respect us and our right to life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.
He believes the enemy of our country are the stupid, greedy American people who have been selfishly taking advantage of this country; who betrayed the trust and obedience of its people; and who diverted the people’s wealth for their own selfish gain, at the expense of the principles of this country. He’s not going to allow that anymore.
He has cultivated and focused the family of MAGA. Identifying those people whose goodness, industriousness, trust, and obedience have been taken advantage of and abused. He has opened our eyes to this abuse, and the rights of freedom and self determination that have been quietly stolen from us.
He has rekindled the healthy distrust of government and men with too much power held by our founders. He has recultivated the desire to reclaim our freedoms and rights, and is empowering us with a hope and pathway to reclaim our spiritual and economic freedom.
He wants the US to be a light of hope on the hill for all people. He will negotiate win/win agreements with those nations and countries who respect us; who respect the principles and intent of our Constitution. If you do not respect us, however, we are not going to let you take advantage of our goodness, or share in our wealth at our expense. If you as a nation are treating your people badly, you are going to be treated less favorably by us, until you show that you value your people as much as we value ours.
He is convincing those who are very wealthy (most of whom truly earned their money), that the best economic soil in which to build wealth is in a constitutional republic, which supports the ability of the common man to earn wealth in proportion to his efforts. The economic engine of the United States is the human spirit freed to enjoy the fruits of honest labor, and that engine has more natural and raw horsepower than any other governed economy.
The Trump Train seems to be remarkably aligned with universal principles of Truth, which reflect the will and design of our Creator, and are the best standard by which we should live. These same principles were what our country’s founders used to declare independence, and framed into the Constitution of this nation.
Our founders believed that a nation should preserve the right and freedom of an individual to seek, understand, and live by God’s principles. They believed that free individuals working together in humility would make a stronger nation than a government which dictates its will on the people. President Trump professes and seeks to lead and restore this nation back to these same principles.
These principles resonate deeply within all human beings, down to our DNA in every cell, in our spirits, and produce fruit that “miraculously” multiplies. Because we follow universal principles, we see the snowballing acceleration of momentum on day 198 of the 2nd term of this very stable genius in the history of the kingdoms of this world in the year of our Lord 2025.

Here is the game plan that the forces against Trump will be using for the foreseeable future.
They will attempt to get you to make the perfect the enemy of the good.
Be it the freedom clowns and spending, the immigration hawks with H1B visas, the peace doves with timing, the cultural warriors with total bans of DEI/CRT, the neocons with war fighting, or the swamp dwellers with draining the swamp.
All of them will attempt to get you to believe on whatever issue is the issue of the day that it doesn’t go far enough or do enough. They will try to make you think that some sub issue of that issue is more important and should be handled first, that since the issue hasn’t been handled yet it won’t be, that we can’t do more than one thing, that so and so is a plant to stop the draining of the swamp, or that because it wasn’t 100% Trump lied. On every single issue, one or more groups will attempt this strategy.
You can’t allow them that power over you. If Trump secures the border and deports 2 million, don’t allow them to reduce that good by them saying well he didn’t deport 2.5 million, so he failed or lied.
You can’t allow them to use the perfect to void out the good in the coming months.
They will try. They already have with the CR and the H1b visa debates. It works, that is why they use it. You have to keep it in the front of your head on everything about to occur that half a loaf or hopefully in most cases 7/8ths a loaf is better than no loaf.
Do not allow them to gaslight you into thinking the good is the enemy of the perfect.
In the real world, most things are never perfect, but if we try real hard, we can get plenty of good accomplished in the coming 4 years.

When 95% of the fedgov voted against him and government is so corrupted that the only way he can accomplish anything significant is via transitory executive orders, “optimal” means “insufficient.”
Here’s how Donald can clean up the Deep State/Swamp:
Start by submitting everyone in his executive branch to a polygraph test, ask them if they fully support his MAGA agenda, and fire everyone who indicates that they don’t. That will leave perhaps 10% manning in his branch.
THEN, take dictatorial powers and do the same in every other branch of the fegov. According to Steve Bannon, and I agree, since there are perhaps 20 or 30 true MAGA in all of the 535 in CONgress, that will leave 20 to 30 in CONgress.
There, it’s fixed. Anything short of that, fuggedaboudit.
Of course, that can’t happen for a large number of reasons.

President Trump is transparent in his words and actions. He is consistent in what he says, what he does, and what he asks/demands of others. His promises are bold and he keeps them like no other president has. He is making massive, nearly overnight changes, not only in our country, but in the world. It is amazing that he is able to accomplish so much when there are so many snakes in the grass. This term, he is weeding them out faster. No U.S. president has ever faced so much organized resistance and treason than President Trump
The purpose and goals of President Trump are plainly visible by his actions and consistent: He is for the benefit first of the common PEOPLE of this country, then of the PEOPLE in the rest of the world. It is validating, even to our battered conservative skepticism.
The methods of his leadership are amazing. I still don’t get HOW he does it, or HOW he is able to get so much momentum going, but every day the momentum is growing. Everyone and every organization has their eyes opened every day — just by watching him. Even those who hate him, are biased against him, and want to see him gone — cannot ignore him. He lives rent free in their head, and they come around to seeing the universal principles by which he is operating. He hammers actions based on truth from one direction, then another, and they cannot mount an organized opposition against him.
He has chosen to use his intellect and every skill he has to do what is right. He has tremendous faith that he can make a difference in this world. He has a confidence and courage such that he doesn’t care what others think, yet a humility to know he has to do it with the help of like minded people. Those people are the “common” people, and he ridicules those who think they are not common.
He believes people are basically good. He believes that God is real. He believes that healthy people are happy people, and they need to be able to create wealth freely for their labor, and have the freedom to spend their money on what is good for them.
He believes the United States, with its Constitutional Republic, is the best environment in the world to enable and give opportunity for people to be happy and prosperous.
He believes that we can be a light for the world, but we must demand that the rest of the world respect us and our right to life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of happiness.
He believes the enemy of our country are the stupid, greedy American people who have been selfishly taking advantage of this country; who betrayed the trust and obedience of its people; and who diverted the people’s wealth for their own selfish gain, at the expense of the principles of this country. He’s not going to allow that anymore.
He has cultivated and focused the family of MAGA. Identifying those people whose goodness, industriousness, trust, and obedience have been taken advantage of and abused. He has opened our eyes to this abuse, and the rights of freedom and self determination that have been quietly stolen from us.
He has rekindled the healthy distrust of government and men with too much power held by our founders. He has recultivated the desire to reclaim our freedoms and rights, and is empowering us with a hope and pathway to reclaim our spiritual and economic freedom.
He wants the US to be a light of hope on the hill for all people. He will negotiate win/win agreements with those nations and countries who respect us; who respect the principles and intent of our Constitution. If you do not respect us, however, we are not going to let you take advantage of our goodness, or share in our wealth at our expense. If you as a nation are treating your people badly, you are going to be treated less favorably by us, until you show that you value your people as much as we value ours.
He is convincing those who are very wealthy (most of whom truly earned their money), that the best economic soil in which to build wealth is in a constitutional republic, which supports the ability of the common man to earn wealth in proportion to his efforts. The economic engine of the United States is the human spirit freed to enjoy the fruits of honest labor, and that engine has more natural and raw horsepower than any other governed economy.
The Trump Train seems to be remarkably aligned with universal principles of Truth, which reflect the will and design of our Creator, and are the best standard by which we should live. These same principles were what our country’s founders used to declare independence, and framed into the Constitution of this nation.
Our founders believed that a nation should preserve the right and freedom of an individual to seek, understand, and live by God’s principles. They believed that free individuals working together in humility would make a stronger nation than a government which dictates its will on the people. President Trump professes and seeks to lead and restore this nation back to these same principles.
These principles resonate deeply within all human beings, down to our DNA in every cell, in our spirits, and produce fruit that “miraculously” multiplies. Because we follow universal principles, we see the snowballing acceleration of momentum on day 198 of the 2nd term of this very stable genius in the history of the kingdoms of this world in the year of our Lord 2025.

I consider it a successful day now if I manage to avoid Fox News or any of the other news channels, thus not subjecting myself to enervating turmoil.
I can check the Treehouse from time to time in the course of the day and perhaps Sundance’s “X” page.
I do see various headlines at the beginning of the days that we get the paper (the “Wall Street Journal”) but that is of no more account anymore for credibility than Fox News, therefore I endeavor to not let it bother me overly much.
So, my Mom and I are both on the same page about the news and we do a lot more reading of books and in the evening, we generally watch old tv shows, like “Perry Mason”. Every couple of years or so we go through the nine years of episodes of “Perry Mason” and we pretty much have the dialog nailed and even incorporate it in our daily conversations. We loved the character of LAPD Lt. Tragg portrayed by Ray Collins. Oftentimes he would be called upon to testify in court on a case involving a client of Perry Mason. Invariably District Attorney Hamilton Burger (portrayed by William Talman) would ask Lt. Tragg to identify an item of evidence, such as a pistol or a fireplace poker.
Lt. Tragg: “Um-hmm. Yes. It has my mark.” He does it nearly the same way every time – starting out with “Um-hmm” but realizing he needs to provide a definite answer for the court reporter, he adds “Yes. It has my mark.”
So now that we are doing more reading and my Mom goes through these little books that my sister sends that are nice stories that don’t have anything really terrible happening; my Mom finishes a book and makes a little check-mark on the inside top left corner of the cover; that way I make sure to put in the “already read” pile to give back to my sister when she visits (then she takes them somewhere else, to donate).
This is how exciting things are here, our daily routine . . . Mom hands me her latest finished book and I open it to make sure she has put her check-mark in it. Then I declare, impersonating Lt. Tragg: “Um-hmm. Yes. That’s my mark.” Which is ridiculous because it’s actually my Mom that made the check-mark but we think it’s very funny and then we crack up.
Life CAN be good, if you choose to live your best life!

Just tonight, someone posted about his trip to Scotland which led me to my trip years ago, the history of his properties and my remembrance of the kilts the men wore when we rented a castle many years ago. Seems like reaching for the stars, but the trip was quite accessible, affordable and near PT’s properties.
Many of us are doing the same thing. Cannot even be thrilled about going out for a meal any longer…I cook a lot… but seeing old TV shows…Perry Mason, Monk, Columbo, Murder She Wrote, Midsomer Murders…I have every travel log, cooking show, and just started watching Las Vegas!!!! This one is fun because it is racy and fast!!!
Time is more spent helping family, reading and enjoying down time. We have had so many sad episodes in the last 4 years, I am good to go with quiet!

Yes, overload syndrome and all the negative posts can get to be much too much….and not healthy. But, some thrive on it and there are many here to seem to love to stir the pot. Much like living in NYC vs rural mountain life….to each his own.
For me, not a TV or movie fan, I read lots of British mysteries for escapism or bake sour dough bread and exotic desserts for enjoyment with a good symphony piece playing in the background. As I spend those hours in the kitchen overlooking the woods, I try always to reflect on all the good things, past and present, in my life and give gratitude and forget about all the issues I can do absolutely nothing about….whether Bondi is “real”, whether Brenner and Comey will go to prison, etc.
In another hour or so I will be meeting long-time friends to play bridge and will say a collective prayer for one in the group who is having serious heart surgery this morning, and afterwards we’ll go out for lunch to celebrate my birthday. Life goes on and I intend to live it in a positive manner that only I can control.

Just hours before Trump’s new tariffs announcement, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit heard oral arguments in a challenge to the duties. The Federal Circuit panel of judges sounded skeptical of the president’s claims to expansive tariff authority—a power constitutionally vested in Congress and partially delegated to the executive in only a handful of laws. Depending on when and how the 11-judge panel rules, the Supreme Court could take up the case soon, potentially putting Trump and the judiciary on yet another high-stakes collision course.
Thursday’s oral arguments involved the administration’s appeal of a Court of International Trade (CIT) ruling in late May in a case consolidated from two lawsuits, one brought by the Liberty Justice Center, a public interest law firm, that represents small businesses affected by the tariffs and the other by a coalition of a dozen Democratic state attorneys general. The ruling held that Trump’s tariffs—including the April “Liberation Day” measures and earlier “trafficking tariffs” imposed on Canada, Mexico, and China to ostensibly combat human and drug trafficking—exceeded the president’s statutory and constitutional power.
The case and Thursday’s oral arguments center on the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA), a 1977 law the Trump administration has invoked to levy the tariffs. The law empowers the president to deal with foreign threats and emergencies using tools like economic sanctions, embargoes, freezing assets, or reviewing financial transactions. But no president before Trump had used it to impose even targeted tariffs, let alone global duties.
The combined lawsuits challenge Trump’s tariff authority on both statutory and constitutional grounds. The main statutory objection is fairly straightforward: The text of IEEPA does not delegate tariff authorities to the president. Unlike every other statute granting the president power to impose taxes on imports, the words “tariff” or “duty” are nowhere to be found in the law. Consequently, the challengers claim, Trump’s tariff regime rests on a nonexistent authority.
The challengers also advanced several other statutory objections, including that IEEPA powers can only be invoked when dealing with a national emergency and an “extraordinary and unusual threat.” They argue the trafficking tariffs are not sufficiently related to an emergency since they target all goods from Canada, Mexico, and China rather than directly dealing with trafficking. They also argue that the president’s stated “emergency” stemming from trade deficits and used to justify the worldwide tariffs does not constitute a true emergency nor an “extraordinary and unusual threat” since such deficits are a normal reality of global commerce that have existed for decades.
But even if, as the government claims, IEEPA does confer some tariff authority, the challengers argue the vast tariff powers Trump has exercised would run afoul of the Constitution by violating the nondelegation and major questions doctrines.
During oral arguments last week, the appellate court panel of 11 judges homed in on whether IEEPA authorizes any tariffs, and if so, how the court could review whether a president has exceeded the limits of such authority. Over the course of nearly two hours, most of the panel scrutinized the government’s statutory arguments, citing the apparent inconsistency between expansive IEEPA tariff powers and Congress’ authority over the tariff schedule. “It’s just hard for me to see that Congress intended to give the president in IEEPA the wholesale authority to throw out the tariff schedule that Congress has adopted after years of careful work, and revise every one of these tariff rates,” Judge Timothy Dyk said.
The panel seemed particularly concerned that accepting the administration’s arguments would give the president effectively unlimited tariff power not subject to judicial checks. The courts have often deferred to the president’s discretion on issues of foreign affairs and national security, and the administration maintained that IEEPA’s internal limits on the president’s power—including whether the declared emergency is in fact an emergency or whether the circumstances at hand are “unusual and extraordinary”—are largely unreviewable by the court.
“If they’re not reviewable, how are they limits?” Judge Leonard Stark asked of the requirements for exercising IEEPA power.
After the arguments, Katyal said he was encouraged that the panel focused on the danger of tariff authority under the pretext of an emergency. “If President Trump can do this, then what’s to stop a future president from doing anything in an unlimited way?” he asked. “Can a future Democratic president declare a climate emergency and tariff goods 1,000 percent from oil-producing countries, because he wants to stop the climate crisis?”
