Ooma phone service is what I use(d) for business, a single number is “free” except for the taxes on it so about 10 bucks a month, 2nd line additional $$$.
You can plug the old plain analog telephones in to the port on the back of it, or buy the HD handsets or bundle to use those, they can be a bit buggy at times (reboot/cycle power to correct) esp if your internet is not rock solid, it also tends to update frequently but that could be for the security system that is also built into it as I use it as well since it is a very low cost security system that can be professionally monitored (also for lack of activity inside in case of elder monitoring with a motion sensor)
I recommend Ooma highly, I have used vonage in the past and it needed a new “modem” once a year, Ooma, first one has lasted just shy of ten years, I have 2 extras that I bought just for the 4 pack of handsets that come with them as was cheaper than buying the handsets separately … they got dropped a lot in biz use.
Magic Jack I assume does the same for plugging in an analog phone but I have never used one, a friend use(d) it when in mexico to avoid roaming international cell charges, it seemed to work …. also free but same “taxes” are added I believe…. same for vonage but it was 20+ per month 15ish years ago.
Ooma also has the business multi line phones to use too, never used or priced as I didn’t need, as well as advanced complete biz phone services & small biz internet service via cellular for those with poor internet options otherwise.

Magic Jack is about $60 a year. I had it for a long time and then they want you to pay a fee for 911 service.
For cells, we use Tello for unlimited at about $28/month per phone. They use T-Mobile lines. T-Mobile just came out touting they are using satellite through Musk’s Starlink. I was with T-Mobile for decades until I got pissed they were celling burner phones at walmart for 1/3 the cost of my mobile service which I was furious over.
Tello is the only provider I’ve ever had who has gradually LOWERED my monthly bill, proactively by telling me about it, and every time I’ve called customer service – I am met with domestic United States service. They are awesome! And because Tello uses T-Mobile lines – I feel like it’s poetic justice. LOL

Kahului Harbor saw a wave a little over two meters. There are multiple waves, but at Guam, Wake Island, Midway Island, and the Hawaiian islands, the 2nd wave is the highest.
Though certainly not good, it appears that so far this has not been the disaster of the scale it could have been and has been minor compared to the Fukushima tsunami of 2011 that killed close to 20,000.
RAH, My daughter lives in Maui, on the beach… They all evacuated… But as of 30 mins ago they are heading back home…
Maui does not need this, after the fire they survived…
I may be speaking too quickly but from all the data and videos I can find, including those from Japan, this Tsunami is just a blip compared to the the 13-14 meter waves of the Fukushima tsunami of 2011 or the Sunda Strait Tsunami in 2018. Thank God!

Hitting the California coast now. So far the highest tide gauge I have found shows about 1.5 meters at Arena Cove.
Wave height appears to diminish as I look further south along the California Coast. San Francisco nothing to speak of and it hasn’t hit LA yet.
1.53 meters are Port San Luis, CA
Nothing to speak of in the LA area. Just now hitting San Diego.
1.9 meters at Port San Luis, CA. is the highest I have found so far in CA.

You know, our burros came down with laminitis due to being free range and having mesquite beans everywhere (they are Full of sugar).
Since then, they are penned up in an area we keep free of the beans, have been allowed only 3 lbs of hay each day that we have soaked and then dried to remove the sugars and starches, and have a thyroid supplement to take.
Well… they now won’t take the hay with the supplement sprinkled on it, and May won’t eat the hay that has been soaked at all.
I’ve been researching low sugar and starch feeds, and have a low sugar treat I’m mushing up with the thyro-l. Do you have any familiarity with these types of foods or supplements with your horses? I’m so worried about them as you can well understand. Thanks – ♥️

Good afternoon Soaz. There are alfalfa treats with pockets in them for giving pills to horses. Could the supplement powder somehow be put into the pocket? They are not very big. I think the company that makes them is Standlee and most feed stores carry them.
What kind of hay are you feeding? I had one mare that had laminitis in her front feet. She wore special shoes with padding in between her hoof and the shoe, but I can not remember what I fed her as it has been at least 18 years.
Are the girls getting only hay? There are special feeds out there especially for laminitis or “foundering”, but my senior brain can’t remember it. It was probably from the Nutrena Feed Company. My “old man”, Blue gets Senior Feed from Nutrena and they may have a feed specifically for equines that can not have sugar. They have a large line of specialty feeds.
I am sorry I can’t help you more. I will research it a little for you though and see what I can find out.
Soaz, There is a low-calorie balancer pellet that can be fed to them.
Also, no molasses beet pulp can be used to replace part of their forage, it also needs to be soaked to make it more palatable.
Alfalfa and Teff hays have about a 12 percent non-structural carbohydrate content (NSC) which is more suitable for horses with problems related to carbohydrate metabolism.
Buckeye Nutrition has a Safe ‘N Easy Pelleted Feed – 12.5 percent NSC (sugar and starch), no corn, no molasses formula, and high fiber for a healthy hindgut.
I think it was Alfalfa hay I fed to my mare with laminitis.
If you choose alfalfa hay, make sure it does not come from Texas or Oklahoma, as it would probably have dead blister beetles in it and if ingested, will literally burn holes in their gut and kill them. Kansas, Colorado and probably any from your area will not have blister beetles. I used to buy from Kansas and now get it from Colorado, Standlee brand.

Oh wow – you ladies are the best! I so love you. Yes, we’ve been researching (and gotten) some low glycemic food for them. I shall look into the specific brands you have told me about.
The vet wants us to use Bermuda hay – soak it in water for at least half an hour, then hang to drain (to remove the sugar and starches). We have a scale in their barn to measure only 3lbs a piece each day. The problem arose when Maisie said, “No Way” to the soaked hay. So now, we have a huge table outside the barn where we spread out the damp hay to dry in the sun. Fingers crossed, that’s working better. I got some low sugar treats, grind them with a mortar and pestle, and add their medicine and a little water. They are finally accepting that. Phew! It’s a full time job, and that’s just the burros.
In my experience, when an animal rejects their food, it’s an ominous sign. I been trying rather unsuccessfully not to panic.
We have ordered the special soft ride boots for them ($1400!). We’ve had them in the past for our burro, Lordy, and they were very helpful.

Soaz, good you can get local hay. I had planted prairie grass in my hay pasture for my horses, in addition to the alfalfa.
I was going to tell you to talk to your vet before you fed them what I mentioned. They know best, especially if they’ve been treating them.
The boots should help a lot. I’d forgotten about them.
Maisie probably didn’t like it wet. Drying it in the sun, especially in Arizona, it should dry quickly.
Most of the time when my horses didn’t eat it was because they were super picky and spoiled rotten, but yes you do worry when they go off their food.
Yes, when you are doctoring equines, burros or horses, it does become a full time job as I have “been there and done it”!
Taking care of these “hooligans” kittens is wearing me down quickly!, but the Good Lord gifted them to me, so I will take care of them as best as I can.

As a boy, I recognized that the beautiful natural world and abundant life were created and felt awe, joy and appreciation. As a teenager, I spoke, from my heart, to God to express my gratitude for his creation, my life, and sending his son Jesus for our redemption; to ask forgiveness of my sins through Jesus and repent; to make my heart pure for Jesus to live and shine his light, truth and courage through me; and guide my life. The next day, I arrived home to find that my father had left. I felt stunned but also calm. One year later, I was injured playing a sport, ending all school athletics for me. I began to live only within the confines of the tangible world and popular culture while neglecting my spiritual dimension, drifting away from who I am as a person with little inner happiness. My life was off course and going nowhere. Then, I received a tremendous gift of love from my future wife coming into my life. Soon after, a phone call with my mom regarding the continuing bad effects of their divorce caused me to clearly see and feel the true sadness of my family break-up, and I sobbed uncontrollably, finally releasing my pent-up feelings. I earnestly prayed to renew my relationship with Jesus/God and specifically and clearly asked for guidance for my life. A few weeks later, my future wife asked me what I really wanted to become. The answer came up out of me as if it had been there all along waiting to be acknowledged as though I had been hardwired to follow a course but was only then realizing it. Witnessing my children being born granted a rare glimpse into the miracle and truth of creation, with no faith needed, and that love is the most powerful force on earth as I would give up my life, in an instant, without any hesitation, to protect my child and spouse. When each of two elderly family members passed away, there was a surprising sense of peace, a holy peace, that permeated the entire room at the moment of death, and for several minutes after, that all those present felt and acknowledged. Right after my mom’s funeral driving home, I received a clear, telepathic communication in her voice that said, “It’s okay honey, I’m alright”, which is exactly the way she would say it. Looking back, it is clear to me that a path was provided for my life that was beyond chance or self-realization. The contrast between before versus after renewing my relationship with Jesus/God and asking for guidance was too great to attribute to me alone or random events.

COMMENTARY FOR PSALMS 37
“David persuades to patience and confidence in God, by the state of the godly and of the wicked.
(1-6) When we look abroad we see the world full of evil-doers that flourish and live in ease. So it was seen of old, therefore let us not marvel at the matter. We are tempted to fret at this, to think them the only happy people, and so we are prone to do like them: but this we are warned against. Outward prosperity is fading. When we look forward, with an eye of faith, we shall see no reason to envy the wicked. Their weeping and wailing will be everlasting. The life of religion is a believing trust in the Lord, and diligent care to serve him according to his will. It is not trusting God, but tempting him, if we do not make conscience of our duty to him. A man’s life consists not in abundance, but, Thou shalt have food convenient for thee. This is more than we deserve, and it is enough for one that is going to heaven. PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

All eyes are on the North Carolina House Wednesday, the day after the state’s Senate voted to override Gov. Josh Stein’s (D) veto of constitutional carry legislation.
The legislation is SB50, and Breitbart News noted it would make North Carolina the 30th constitutional carry state in the Union.
On June 11, 2025, Breitbart News also pointed out there is a problem: Two Republican state Representatives–Ted Davis and Bill Brisson–were opposing SB 50.
It appears those two continue to be questionable in the vote to override Stein’s veto.
Phone the offices of Davis and Brisson!
They already hit a home run eliminating the Trans BS by overriding their idiot Gov. Now they’re at the plate again trying to hit another.
