We already recognize some of it. Seems to me all we have to do is fix and correct the original sin, which Adam and Eve failed to do by each blaming the other – none taking responsibility and being honest with God. Soooooo, what if EVERYONE began – pretty soon we’d all be on the same wavelength, and hey presto “heaven on earth baby”. We can hope and pray can’t we.

You really have no idea.
The problem is that the taint of sin is now part of our nature.. Ironically, the biblical verdict is illustrated in your premise, that we can achieve perfection through our own efforts:
“What shall we conclude then? Do we have any advantage? Not at all! For we have already made the charge that Jews and Gentiles alike are all under the power of sin. As it is written:
“There is no one righteous, not even one; there is no one who understands; there is no one who seeks God. All have turned away, they have together become worthless; there is no one who does good, not even one.”

The root of all sin, and the bar to perfection on earth for every man-made system, begins with the premise that Good can be achieved through our own efforts. We are not created to be perfect apart from our Creator, who is the ultimate source of Good. ‘Utopia’ always ends in a Fall because it begins with that same, old, faulty premise – that it can be achieved outside of, and without, God.
You cannot overcome man’s natural inclination to sin outside the power of God. And it is that inclination that, sooner or later, brings down every human, autonomous attempt to be good. We can do good things, because we still live in God’s universe and we’re made in His image. But we cannot ‘be’ good through our own effort because our inclinations are not. And everything after that initial impulse is only a mockery of what we could be through the empowering of God’s Holy Spirit which is possible only through Jesus Christ.

Thank you, Soazburrolady. Kiki was my boy, and Coco is her pappa’s girl. They have become very much closer since Kiki died. I’m guessing she feels his loss even more so than we do, so we have changed a lot about what we do each day to include her in almost everything, including where we go and how long we’ll be there.
When she doesn’t “see” us she’ll start crying so mournfully that it breaks our hearts. We’ll get her and make sure she knows she’s not alone — just like what my husband did as I was writing this to you.

Oh Betsy, you bring me much joy and laughter with your comments. I gave up “war paint” years ago. It really wasn’t worth it when you are out on a horse a lot of days herding cows or showing your horse, especially in the summer! Besides, the cows, horses and various other “pets” around the ranch did not care how I looked, and my senior skin was not the greatest looking when I did put some on occasionally. Hee Hee, giggle, giggle.
The worst is when I’m taking a picture on my phone and I accidentally the button which reverses the camera. That and Facetime. OMG!!! When did THAT happen I ask myself…ugh! I give all mirrors as much of a complete miss as I can 😎

Little ‘Tink loves to seek out the cool air flow . . . I didn’t get up until 10:30 this morning. Had a snuggled up little black kitty luxuriating next to me the whole time . . . 🙂

This is a press conference regarding the explosion that took the lives of 3 law enforcement officers in Los Angeles earlier this week. This had to be the type of press briefing no law enforcement office would want to give – of the 2 devices removed, and taken to the place where such things are deactivated, one went off, taking the lives of the 3 officers – here’s the kicker:
the other device they can’t find so had to let the people of Los Angeles know to not touch anything that looks like the device, just in case.
Some of the reporters asked very good questions, which the law enforcement and ATF person were not able to provide clear answers given the investigation is still ongoing.

IDK why they messed with them to deactivate in the first place, instead of taking to a remote location and destroying with other explosives.
Decades ago that is what the NYS laboratory I used to work at did with some old chemicals.
We had old bottles of picric acid. Crystals can form under the lid that can explode when the cap is unscrewed.
The bottles where inverted in containers of water. They were taken to a remote location and destroyed by someone with a NYS blasting license.
In the initial moments of the briefing, the officers involved, including from their specialty squad, all believed they were inert, simple grenade-looking devices.
As the press briefing goes on, and there is one male reporter that actually knows his munitions, began asking specific questions, it became clear that the ATF and local sheriff’s office deems it a high possibility that the one device that did go off had been tampered with to make it even more lethal, as they describe the enhanced area affected by the incident and there is no, so far, chemical trace that both devices went of, and that individuals who initially responded to the scene, one in particular, is being looked into as to whether or not that individual assisted in the other device miraculously disappearing during transit.
My imagination, after listening to this briefing and remembering the recent, though extremely brief mention in the press, of the horde of IED’s found in New York, where the person creating those has been arrested, my mind thinks – okay, sleepers have been activated.
My imagination could easily be completely wrong, but to get so wrapped up in the enthusiasm of all this very real winning by our Commander in Chief, don’t take the eyes off of one’s surroundings. It was important enough, with the lack of information the officers had at this date, they still saw the need to put the citizens on alert to keep their eyes open. That alone is what set off my internal alarms.
As our friend David from Israel tries to remind us on a daily basis with his posts updating us on his part of the world, this chapter of history, the U.S. included, isn’t over yet, and is why I posted it here, as this isn’t a specifically Presidential Thread topic, it is a newsworthy bit of information.
Now semi-retired from the mining industry, we often had reports of family members of a deceased person who discovered old, extremely fragile sticks of dynamite, and our guys would be called in (my late husband had a blaster’s license and had a crew of guys that knew their stuff, former frogmen is how they liked to describe themselves). Israel Update:
I am working in an update that will explain the Israeli Depp State. It takes a lot of time so I will now do a regular update to keep you informed.
-As I said earlier, Hamas has no reason to make a deal as of now when Israel is under International and media and diplomatic pressure and they have hostages and plenty of aid. And they are all excited as they managed to kill or injure a few IDF soldiers here and there once or twice a week. And their “coordinated campaign of starvation” is working quite well.
So they declined the proposed offer which already contained serious concessions from Israel. Their new demands were so unreal to a point that it looked like a spit in the face of the negotiators. I will save you the details. It’s obvious that they oppose a deal.
-Trump response to Hamas. “They want to die”. “They will be hunted”.
Witkoff response is that they show no willingness for a deal. But he is not giving up.
Israel is now in a cross road of what to do. Talking about “other ways to get the hostages”.
Talking about the Hamas leaders in Qatar. Maybe using pressure to expel them I don’t know if Trump will be fine on assassinating them. I said since the beginning of the war that they should be abducted as chips for exchange of hostages.
For now there is still a daily death toll in Gaza of some 50-100 per day and more wounded.
It looks like Hamas doesn’t care. They are already close to 60,000 death toll overall. Probably close to a half are terrorists, many of them are families of the terrorists who were by them when bombed.
-Macron of France announced that France is about to recognize a Palestinian in the UN. There is pressure on the UK to do the same. Attacks back on Macron from Israeli and American political figures. Trump said that “it means nothing”. many say that “France should contain the Palestinian State”.
A complete vile award for 10/7. Making Hamas feel that they are winning.
Note: A bit of truth about the French. Just before the Six Days War when Israel was surrounded and it seemed like it can be annihilated, the French who used to be the main weapon suppliers decided to surrender to the Arab pressure and make a weapon embargo against Israel.

The bottom line is that the Radical Muslims should be defeated, not negotiated with.
Israel should know better. But I am excited for the Druze and in this hostile environment we may have made a new friend in the area.

Clearing of Gazans from the North to the humanitarian areas in the South and then a massive clearing work of the North. Pressure to expel Hamas leaders from Qatar if they don’t make a reasonable deal. If Trump agrees then hijacking or killing Hamas leaders in Qatar and Turkey. Hostage rescue? Almost impossible but the IDF may surprise in some isolated locations.

I no longer remember the exact complaints that caused the retraction but IMHO the majority of the article remains relevant for me because all these years my focus has been US jobs for US citizens!

Also everyone has been angry for decades that people with wealth in the old country come here and use our social safety net and then decades later they bring the old country wealth here and buy buy buy without our government demanding reimbursement. So this last is a valid concern for them. They know they did wrong. Again we don’t discuss.

What I’ve seen of local media is supportive of the chip company bringing their people here, developing their own businesses to support the new residents with small businesses ranging from food to daycare all in their language and their culture as if it’s a local tourist destination – nothing about how we’re subsidizing all that but they’re not honoring their end by creating jobs for citizens. Even if you get a job there those services won’t help you unless you like your child being in a childcare situation where you have no idea what they’re learning and if the restaurants are anything like what I’ve experienced in other colonized areas of the country – they can sabotage you and wait on you dead last, making you late back to your shift – better pack your lunch.
If that really is in Texas or anywhere in the USA, it’s time to roll out the buses and deportation flights and send them home!

They were scheduled to play in Rich Stadium in Orchard Park, NY (suburb of Buffalo). I had a ticket, hitchhiked from Huntsville, AL for the concert.
My father relocated the family that summer after school ended for a job down there, he had a brother and sister in Huntsville.
Concert was canceled because of this. I exchanged my ticket for a Yes concert 2 or 3 weeks later.
A friend’s older sister bought me a bus ticket home because she did not want me hitching rides. I remember it was $50. I sent her the money later.
Good thing, because it was raining most of the way back.
We ended up coming back to Buffalo that December. The house sale here did not go through thanks in part to some creative sabotage on my part. Dad did not like working in a Dunlop tire factory after being a truck driver most of his life. He got another driving job for RedStar Express here in WNY.

May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

I have just had the best laugh reliving exactly your rendition of attempting to skate with those confounded contraptions – and I wanted them so badly!
I wanted some badly too and we did get some for our birthday one year. Yes I was laughing as well about the same scenario.
Also got ice skates one year for Christmas, but they were shoe type. Loved ice skating too. Ahhhhh, the memories, such fun!
Me too – ice skating is the best! We had many frozen ponds and even fields that froze in the winter – great fun. ⛸️

As a boy, I recognized that the beautiful natural world and abundant life were created and felt awe, joy and appreciation. As a teenager, I spoke, from my heart, to God to express my gratitude for his creation, my life, and sending his son Jesus for our redemption; to ask forgiveness of my sins through Jesus and repent; to make my heart pure for Jesus to live and shine his light, truth and courage through me; and guide my life. The next day, I arrived home to find that my father had left. I felt stunned but also calm. One year later, I was injured playing a sport, ending all school athletics for me. I began to live only within the confines of the tangible world and popular culture while neglecting my spiritual dimension, drifting away from who I am as a person with little inner happiness. My life was off course and going nowhere. Then, I received a tremendous gift of love from my future wife coming into my life. Soon after, a phone call with my mom regarding the continuing bad effects of their divorce caused me to clearly see and feel the true sadness of my family break-up, and I sobbed uncontrollably, finally releasing my pent-up feelings. I earnestly prayed to renew my relationship with Jesus/God and specifically and clearly asked for guidance for my life. A few weeks later, my future wife asked me what I really wanted to become. The answer came up out of me as if it had been there all along waiting to be acknowledged as though I had been hardwired to follow a course but was only then realizing it. From that point forward, all I needed to do was my best through the challenges and struggles that awaited me, and I was provided with the strength and support to succeed in a career and provide for my future family. During our wedding ceremony at the church, I was unexpectedly overcome by what I believe was the Holy Spirit, the power and intensity of which felt stronger than love. Witnessing my children being born granted a rare glimpse into the miracle and truth of creation, with no faith needed, and that love is the most powerful force on earth as I would give up my life, in an instant, without any hesitation, to protect my child and spouse. When each of two elderly family members passed away, there was a surprising sense of peace, a holy peace, that permeated the entire room at the moment of death, and for several minutes after, that all those present felt and acknowledged. Right after my mom’s funeral driving home, I received a clear, telepathic communication in her voice that said, “It’s okay honey, I’m alright”, which is exactly the way she would say it. Looking back, it is clear to me that a path was provided for my life that was beyond chance or self-realization. The contrast between before versus after renewing my relationship with Jesus/God and asking for guidance was too great to attribute to me alone or to random events.

For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. Romans 8:29 Your testimony shows that there is something far better in the future for those who trust in Jesus. Oh how He cares for us here too! The things of this life will fade and we shall be ushered into His glorious, eternal kingdom. There we will experience the fullness of love and peace that will be with us forever.
