Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy Name. Thy kingdom come. THY WILL BE DONE, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but DELIVER US FROM EVIL.
For Thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever and ever. Amen †

English long distance swimmer who was first to swim unassisted across the English Channel, drowns in the Niagara Falls whirlpool at 35
Biography: Webb made the first recorded swim across the English Channel without artificial supports.
In 1875 he swam from the Admiralty Pier at Dover to near Calais in approximately 21 hours and 40 minutes, becoming an instant celebrity and now professional swimmer. Webb now performed a variety of further stunts.
These took him to the US and culminated in an effort to swim the Whirlpool Rapids on the Niagara River near the Niagara Falls. After succeeding in the first part of the swim Webb succumbed to the powerful swell at the entrance to the Whirlpool and drowned.

James Chadwick
(1891-1974)
British physicist (Nobel Prize, 1935; discovered neutron), dies at 82
Biography: James Chadwick was a British physicist who is best known for his discovery of the neutron in 1932. This groundbreaking work earned him the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1935, recognizing his substantial contributions to the field. His discovery of the neutron, a neutrally charged particle within the atomic nucleus, was a crucial step in the development of nuclear physics.
Chadwick began his scientific career studying under Ernest Rutherford, a pioneer of nuclear physics, at the University of Manchester. In the 1920s, he moved to the Cavendish Laboratory at the University of Cambridge, where he continued his investigations into atomic structure.
His discovery of the neutron came during his time at Cambridge. Chadwick identified the neutron after interpreting the results of a series of experiments conducted by other scientists, particularly the work of Irene Joliot-Curie and Frederic Joliot-Curie. His understanding of these experimental results and his subsequent experiments led to the discovery of the neutron, a particle with no charge that resides in the atomic nucleus alongside protons.
Beyond his scientific achievements, Chadwick played a crucial role in the development of the atomic bomb as part of the Manhattan Project during World War II. His expertise in nuclear physics was instrumental in understanding the mechanics of nuclear fission, the process that underpins the operation of nuclear weapons.
“Piazzolla was a genius, he combined many Argentinean styles in his compositions and much more, an encyclopedic knowledge and the alchemist creating something new never listened before.”

😎 my man Garrison,
-💞💖💞
Mornin’ Dear Patience
I’ma lookin at that glass jar on the bureau – that will work!
My girls just shake their heads, jangling the “charms” on their collars till I get the message!
Hi’ya dear Patience. Little ‘Tink enjoys staying close to me of a morning, usually not stirring until I do. Its quite touchingly affectionate. Definitely not something I take for granted. 🙂
Yes…. very connected sweetness. 😎
Birds pecking at the ground. Leaves falling. Leaves blowing along the sidewalk a bit. Jazz.
Good Morning Garrison !
Good morning, Garrison 💕☕ Music is such a great part of my life, classical and opera especially. I only came to appreciate jazz…in this form which you’ve posted…when I was well past 40. It evokes memories, not personal as such, of an era which sadly has had its day and moved on. Looking at that picture… I doubt, for example, that in Paris today anyone would find such a similar quiet street in any part. Evocative music which certainly does stir up emotions for those of us who lived most of our lives in that other era. Saving…😘
And as luck would have it, here is one on CURSDAY who seems to have found just the perfect spot 😉💕
…and coffee!!!! Stat!!☕
Of course 💕🙏🏻
Yes oh YES, Corny!! Especially the bottom one 😌💕
Love It!!! 💕
that’s a pheasant hunt waiting to happen.😁
you got your spaniels for pointing and flushing, and your retrievers for fetching.
p.s.: pheasants are really kinda mean birds.😆
some will run a dog to exhaustion before they’ll break cover,
likely why there’s at least double of every job in the picture!😂
There is a massive estate in the hills of North Wales, zoom…the VIVOD it is named. They breed pheasants there for paid shoots. It is accessible by long winding country roads…or helicopter, it is that large and isolated. Always jolted me to come around a bend to see the enormous house with one of those “parked” in front.
One of my favourite drives when we lived there was to take the small entrance off the main road and climb, climb, climb upwards on the serpentine roads through some of the most beautiful countryside you can imagine, with the expansive clearings amongst the surrounding trees. With every turn, what a thrill it was to see huge numbers of pheasants, so beautiful.
And rabbits, also in the same numbers, interspersed amongst them. Nature at its finest.
We used to get pheasants visiting our back garden not far from there, but their numbers became such that my husband who hates killing anything was forced to take the 410 he had and reduce them. He hated doing it.
He would open the top half of our Dutch door and shoot from the inside, bang on target. We’d give the birds to our local butcher who would hang them in his shop window to “age” as was the custom in Britain.
(I had not thought of those days in so long…thanks for the memories, one in particular. Looking out into our garden and seeing pheasants, squirrels, our peacock,and a couple of our many cats all wandering around together in lovely camaraderie and peace.😌 Really miss those days…)
Correct.
Look straight ahead…they’ll never notice 😎
Ha…my two are obedience school drop outs…LOL…
I remember, Aggie!! 😂 😂 😂
Almost as big as he is 😍
The only remaining question is…”you want it rare, medium, or well done?”
😎
Hahaha!!! Ribs? Well done, GB.
Steak or prime rib, neither of which I’ve had for years?
Medium to the rare side.
Those he has are still mooing it looks as if 😁😂👍🏻
💕 💕 💕
Somehow, I think these 2 guys might qualify as “too friendly!”
So sweet!! I concur, girl…lucky the family which calls them theirs 😌💕
Good boy! 😎
The long day closes…..
Good morning Betsy. Again, you have not disappointed me with the “Cursday” collection. I love the painting of the soldier coming home and being greeted by his dog. I like your imagery of this scenario. It makes perfect sense. Thank you.
Cat update: As I walk from the bedroom to the kitchen for my first cup of coffee, I am greeted by 7 bouncing fur balls and their momma. As I brew the coffee, I get my 9″ pyrex pie plates out and fill them with pate food, there is a cacophony of screeches of starving kittens! I really am not starving them. They have food when I retire for the night, I promise.
I continue to practice for the Olympics as I bend over, (I’ve lost track) of how many times to pick up what the kittens have decided is their toys! They are not content with the toys, ( which makes a veritable obstacle course through my house, I might add) that I have provided to them.
I have resigned myself that my little extra money will be used for temporarily feeding the extra mouths I’ve been blessed with and I will just depend upon the Lord to keep me fed and the bills paid.
I can only describe my current life as “chaotic joy” until further notice.
Beau, my dog has reasserted to momma cat, Cleo, that his food is off limits to her after a few days of putting up with her eating his food every time he goes to eat it. He does not gobble it all up at once like a lot of dogs. He nibbles on it for a few hours instead. Cleo got the message and leaves his food alone now.
He tolerates the kittens, especially Percy and Oliver, as they play with his tail and sleep with him on his big bed and also bats at his face and whiskers to entice him to play with them. He lets them know gently and nicely when he has had enough.
That is about all the news on “Kitty Central” today. I am still working on moving photos from my phone to my computer so I can include some in my comments, but am not real tech savvy, so it is taking me through trial and error to figure it out. Maybe by Caturday, which would be so great to include some photos. We shall see.
Have a blessed and wonderful day.
I am absolutely captivated…catitvated(?? 😸)…by these fabulous updates, Pat. Oh the picture you paint!! “Where We Go One, We Go All” seems the motto on your house, at least in the morning. They know who their personal chef is 😂
I can empathize with the cost…we don’t have a cat or dog at the moment…except we’ve got our oldest’s Maggie again for about 5 days who I am spoiling by adding half a pouch of wet food…Old Roy…to her dry. But I do buy 16 pound bags of WM’s own dry cat food and leave out a pan for passersby each night, plus huge bowls of water which are always empty in the morning. Then we purchase for the birds and squirrels who are daily visitors. It is a cost but I will not see animals go hungry…
Now I have a lovely picture in my head of Beauty with his bed mates to sustain me for the rest of the day…
Just you be careful and not step on any of those hazard/obstacle course toys!! Of COURSE they aren’t content with the toys you bought!! They wouldn’t be cats if they were 😎😸 You’ll miss them when they go…but I do pray their new homes, wherever they may be, will be as accommodating as you are.
If not there will have to be some adjustments…and I know you know I am not speaking about the cats doing the adjusting. It was ever thus. Blessed be your day, sis, and to your brood lots of lovely ear scratches from yours truly 😘😽
Good evening Betsy. Yes, I am currently their “chief cook and bottle washer”! Not complaining at all, as it gives me a reason to get up and live my best life, along with the other various “pets” I have. I am careful not to step on their toys.
I am still feeding my one horse, chickens and rooster named Mozart (because of his beautiful crowing), and feeding various other creatures that cross my path, mostly wild birds and the squirrels and an occasional racoon that ventures near the chicken scratch on the ground,(he likes the corn), at night. Have a most blessed evening.
You have such a good heart, Pat…
We get raccoons and possums, our night visitors.
And oh how I understand that purpose you describe so beautifully. The very thing which propels me forward in the mornings, too. Apparently the word is out…breakfast, lunch and dinner at Chez Jones.
We do what we can to make a tough world kinder for the creatures God has created 💕 Bless you for your devotion, girl 🙏🏻
Our raccoons come in the daytime.
Then there are fewer chickens.
Thanks, Pat
Always enjoy hearing about your furballs – in a way they have become community Treehouse kitties! You give us such wonderful “visuals!” ❤️
Good evening Soaz. I’m so glad I am able to create wonderful “visuals” for you and the Treepers. Have a blessed evening.
Loved reading about the “cacophony of screeches of starving kittens!” Familiar territory, love!!! Thanks for your fine story . . . 🙂
Good evening Garrison. Yes I suspected you would probably understand that statement. The morning ritual is the only time they get noisy. the rest of the day they know they will be fed throughout the day.
I enjoy hearing about little “Tink” too. Have a blessed evening.
A few thoughts on this CURSDAY while I sip my coffee…
I have studied this lovely painting of the exuberant Jack Russell joyfully racing to greet his master.
The more I look at it the more my eyes well up. It’s in the details where I start to form the background…young soldier away for who knows how long returning from war to his best friend who grew up with him, side by side, and who had no concept of why this young man suddenly departed…but who has just as suddenly, unexpectedly come home.
Such are the soul enriching wonders found in expressive, beautiful art…which in modern times and paintings has almost disappeared.
The late philosopher Professor Sir Roger Scruton understood and wrote about beauty…
“Beauty matters. It is not a subjective thing but a universal need of human beings. If we ignore this need we find ourselves in a spiritual desert.”
And….
“Through the pursuit of beauty we shape our world as a home, and in doing so we both amplify our joys and find consolation for our sorrows.”
No wonder that today, and in truth for decades, the wicked do all they can to obliterate beauty no matter what form it may take. It is anathema to them. And it goes a long way to explain their souls, parched and shriveled.
That is why this painting which I would entitle “Homecoming” resonates to deeply for me…💕
And as an afterthought, I will leave this beautiful work…
No reason, just because…
Good morning. Bet! Very well written, dear friend. You have such a way with words. ❤️😍
Good almost afternoon, dearest bro. I hope all is well with you, Elizabeth, your mum, Nipper, Violet and their folks 💕 Just back from a fill in shop and now contemplating that second cup of ☕ Blessed be your day, G 🙏🏻😘
Amen to that!
Howdy, B Jones!
(I DO like the word Ma’am as well, but I do NOT seek to offend.)
“Beauty matters. … If we ignore this need we find ourselves in a spiritual desert.”
A ‘FIRST MOVER’ truth.
Golly, you indeed have lived an interesting life and have clearly made the most of a good education.
Teaching used to be understood as a vocation, and in that past sense of the word you certainly you have nailed that one as well.
[Now if you’re looking for MORE SQUIRRELS ….]
havahart😎
[FIRST Princple]
PRIME Mover!
Well howdy, RCR…I’m just back.
How kind you are, my friend. I’m a homebody in truth and not apt to seek out new journeys or experiences. Been that way since a child. So in looking back I remain absolutely astounded that I upended my life more than once to move first far away then, happy as I was, packed up and moved back. It has been a life I didn’t see coming. The blessings and gifts which came with it are uncountable…and I am grateful😌💕
I love the address “Ma’am”… the mark of gentility from the one who uses it, one from a well bred generation, of which you are clearly one.
But now I ask you to use for me the name which was bestowed upon me when I made that first move overseas. The lovely people of Wales whom I knew shortened my Christian name to ” Bet”. That’s how I was known to those who became precious friends there, and I have asked the same of my irreplaceable friends in this Tree. Of which you are one, dear sir 💕
As for my education….A university degree but my education I received when I moved abroad. Life in other words, and I am so grateful for it as well…
Squirrels?? I have plenty, thank you very much for your kind offer. They have become semi domesticated, allowing me to throw out food for them. Once they scarpered, now they stand back a bit and watch me. A small but beautiful victory 👍🏻😊
Such a lovely surprise to return and find your post. Apologies for the delay on responding to your thoughtfulness. Bet 😊
Professor Scruton’s comments perfectly align with the overt depredations of guys like John Kerry, the entire WEF, the Sierra Club, and countless activists who seek to impose “lifestyle changes” that may match their aspirations but which expect us to abandon the very things that we hold dear. “Net zero”, “gun control”, “to say nothing of most hard-left utopias”, etc. are perfect examples. This is why insisting on maxim freedom and liberty is so important. If
“reforms” ask us to sacrifice our freedom and liberty in the name of “greater good” . . . grab your guns and join the NRA!!
Hahahaha, Garrison…..succinct and accurate, dear friend. They all profess to be saving the beauty which surrounds them but which they cannot see. Then stake their odious claim to it as the self appointed ones to safeguard it. Whereupon they desecrate it, insinuating themselves as rearrangers God’s nature because, of course, they know so much better.
Arrogance and then hubris.
Blech!!
Still LOL!
That’s our youngest son!
since silver is not in the coat color genetics of either the Labrador, nor the Golden Retriever,
wonder what else is mixed in to get that color.
could be a “sport” of the european very pale colored Labs/Goldens.
hope it’s not linked to a lethal gene like some other breeds.
maybe diet, but ingesting enough heavy metals to change coat color is a frightening thought.
an oddity that needs much study before it becomes a fad.
Fad….such “fads” in dog breeding have caused many physical problems in all sorts of cross bred dogs. I couldn’t agree more.
I was wondering too what they bred to get that color!!
I know there are some people breeding Weimaraner dogs to their Labradors to get a silver colored Lab. People I know that bought these pups have had no end of trouble with the pups! They seem to be a mental basket case!! Destroyed the living room furniture, very unstable. The pups I know of are now 3 and 4 year old dogs. Owners have had to take them to daycare for dogs when they go to work. Trying a cage at home did not work, they panicked really big time.
I know that were breeding for the color black in German Shorthaird Pointers had sever overbite in their mouth and many health issues!!
Hope that these white labs do NOT become a fad!!!
agree 101%, Marti.
people who buy a dog, ANY dog, for “color” are nuts.
besides the potential genetic time bomb lurking in this particular story,
in general it means the buyers are completely overlooking the dog’s natural traits.
these are people who then show up at the vet’s office looking for mood altering drugs to give their Beagle who howls or their Belgian Malinois who is “hyper” (ditto their Border Collie or Aussie);
or surgery for their French Bulldog who snores and keeps them up all night.
i’m saddened but not surprised by your observations regarding attempts to create the next craze.
it’s motivated by money, fueled by buyers who believe everything they see on the internet,
and the dogs who pay the price.
Betsy!
You’re TRULY on Point today!
HUGS
BLESSINGS
Just when it seems I will come up short for CURSDAY, june, somehow my cup suddenly overflows.. Blessings right back to you, girl 🤗☕💕
Kind of a down morning today, Bet, something us old-guys-living-alone often encounter, I’m finding. So this little Charlie Brown interlude was a perfect perk-up. Thanks, love. 🙂
I am familiar with those mornings, too. More lately in the immediate aftermath of waking for some reason…you aren’t alone, Garrison, for whatever comfort (if any) that might give you….💕
I found the first Snoopy typing, Garrison. Then suddenly I remembered this small clip which was so sweet. They went together like strawberries and cream I thought. So happy they made you happy, dear friend 😘🤗💕
Mornin’ Dear Bets
When I was a little mite, my folks gave me a stuffed poodle (we lived in a tiny trailer and didn’t have the “real” doggie I longed for).
I named her FiFi and wrapped a scarf like that round her neck. Thanks for a welcome memory! ❤️
Morning, dear Corny….how funny!!! When I was about 10 I longed for a stuffed white poodle which I’d seen in our local all purpose pharmacy. It was huge and I set my young heart on it. We had a lovely little dog, a Boston terrier, but for some reason was captivated by this amazing poodle…hadn’t thought of that in years and years….
Something else…
Tim Burchett from Tennessee, one of the few outstanding US reps, posts small videos all the time to keep people in his constituency updated on what is going on.
The other day he posted one of himself at home calling his “girls” who came a-runnin’ 😍 Lots of loving and ear scratches…and I thought of you. He is a good man made “gooder” for his devotion (like you) to these oh so sweet animals.
Two just like this!! 😘
i guess we now know why
the grass is always greener
on the other side
Hahahahahahahahahahaaaaaaa!!!!
More than likely 😉
Love, love, love Tim Burchett, Bets. This makes me love him even more!
In addition to being spot on issue wise, he has a most likable sense of humor.
Dang, Corny, there goes my heart….AGAIN!!!!
I knew you would appreciate that small but very telling story. He really loves those girls, and it was apparent that the feeling was mutual 💕
Soaz, my sentiments exactly, although it is an elderly horse that waits for me at the fence every day for food, scratches and kisses on his very velvety nose.
Oh yes, and he waits for his treat, one of those red and white soft peppermints. If you rattle the cellophane on the peppermint and say lick your lips, he will do it! They are just so much fun and so intelligent.
A blessed evening to you.
Such memories are good for us, Bet and lady. My ‘1st’ dog was actually my dad’s prized bird dog. However since I was still quite young, instead him being ‘my’ dog, I was more ‘his boy’. Prince was a real champion hunting dog. But he was also a loving companion for little me. Good dogs can quite often be both . . . 🙂
Good dogs are ALWAYS both, Garrison. I hope you won’t mind that slight correction, because it’s true.
Absolutely 😊💕
Afternoon, dear Bet. Just returned from a great brunch/lunch at a favorite little taqueria. They have the most wonderful chilaquiles plate. With homemade corn tortillas and strong black coffee — yum!!!
Oh good!!! It clearly lifted your spirits, and I am so glad. Familiar places with faces you know and who know yours…and good food. Someone really needs to bottle the combination and sell it.
(I’m more a flour tortilla girl myself 😎😉)
Garrison you have made me hungry and craving Mexican food, so I have decided to eat some chicken tamales tonight for dinner. Thanks for the help for my dinner plans. A blessed evening to you and Tink.
😎thanks, my man Garrison
Mornin’ Dear Garrison
Just had the termite “guy,” Mike here. We passed!
Time to celebrate with your music. 😊 ❤️
🙂
Morning, patty ☕ 💕
Saw these and of course thought immediately of you 😊
Wonderful pictures. The little girl is about the same size as just the horse’s head. The little boy has brought grain for the horse. Both are knee high to a grasshopper compared to the horses. And neither shows any fear of the horses, only love and awe. Thank you!
Most welcome, sis. The innocence of both, horses and small children, melted my heart, too 😊😘
Unusual habitat for wild horses, but then we have the Chincoteague horses on the Atlantic coast of Assateague Island….
Thanks for this info about the Chincoteague horses, GB. Oh boy! New wild horses of America. (At least, new to me).
I’ve been there and have seen these beautiful animals “up close and personal”….they’re normally quite shy of humans but occasionally you come across a curious one…!
Elvis Presley
“Don’t Be Cruel” (January 6, 1957) on The Ed Sullivan Show
He was at the top of his game. Thanks for sharing the video.
Thank you Cactus for the video. I really enjoyed hearing it. I was fortunate to get to see him in concert one time. He was a great entertainer. Have a blessed and wonderful day.
Memphis gal here. I was 11 years old when Elvis hit it big. My mother was horrified and would not let me spend money on his records. I have come to appreciate his amazing voice later in life. Such a tragedy how he was manipulated and died so young.
Paul Anka –
Lonely Boy (American Bandstand
1959
You have brought back wonderful memories.. I was raised in the suburbs of Philadelphia and was very familiar with American Bandstand. Thank you.
Hey Pat,
Remember when we all knew who was “going steady” on American Bandstand? Our own, real-time soap opera!
Oh my, yes I remember. Just as I turned old enough to get on American Bandstand they went and moved to Hollywood. I was so angry because I dreamed of the day I could get on there and dance to my heart’s content.
I remember when my dad came home from the Philadelphia Navy Shipyard with autographed photos of Dick Clark for his three daughters. He was such a softie. Great memories.
THE EARLS
– “REMEMBER THEN” (1962)
I was twelve in 1962 and really getting into the music and dancing scene, since we lived outside of Philadelphia in the suburbs. You are on a roll today
with me going down memory lane. Thank you so much.
.
Hey Pat I was also 12 in 1962 and living just outside SW Baltimore, just starting to buy rock & roll records with my lawn cutting money, and earning how to play the guitar! There are probably a lot of us boomers with similar childhoods & music interests spread across the USA.. 😎
Oh GB, Baltimore was really not that far from Philadelphia, so yes, you would be into the rock and roll records. There were some great singers from our areas discovered, if my memory serves me, on street corners in Philadelphia, and New Jersey and other areas. Please correct me if my memory is not correct. Have a wonderful evening.
There were literally a hundred-plus bands for hire around Baltimore…maybe a dozen of those became very popular, maybe even as far as Philly..
Top among the ones I remember are (were):
Brenda Key & The Sentries,
Tommy Van & The Echoes (later- & The Professionals)
The Lafayettes
Denny & The Hitchhikers
The Admirals
The Majestics
The Commodores
….and many others.
Check out this list: https://baltimorejam.org/bands.html
GB, the Commodores were a really good group, as well as, the Majestics. They are the two that jumped out at me from your list. Thanks.
It was a really wonderful time for pop music bands. Many had brass & woodwind sections and good vocalists. Lots of local dances with live bands to meet girls (and boys). Most just did covers of songs by nationally famous artists but they did them well.
South Street
The place in the title of both the song and album is referred to in the former as “the hippest street in town” and is located in Philadelphia
1964
Very familiar with South Street in Philadelphia. I’ve heard it is not a great street or town any longer. Pretty dangerous place to go. I’ve not lived in Pennsylvania since 1986.
It is a shame, as when I was growing up it was a nice city to visit and had an old splendor and beautiful older homes. Until I was five, we lived in an old three story brownstone with a small back yard and the steps to sit on at the front door. We then moved near Valley Forge, a small town called King of Prussia. All woods, farms and open spaces.
Again you’ve provided me with very fond memories of growing up. Thank you.
Maybe you remember some of these vrey popular (back then) dance moves…
Thanks GB. I remember those well. There was also the Twist and the Bristol Stomp! Mashed Potato, The Stroll, The Locomotion were favorites. My sisters and I would go down to Wildwood, New Jersey to a big, old ballroom with a wooden floor and they had dances there for the under 21 teens run by local Disc Jockeys. We had really long line dances there and when we did the Bristol Stomp it was so noisy due to the wooden floor. Good times and wonderful memories. Thanks for that video.
Hah. Small world. My wife’s family went to Wildwood when she was a youngster and into her early teens – they had family in Newark, Toms River, and Bamber Lake, NJ.
Apparently for several years Wildwood was the summer family vacation place… Wifey told me there were dances there but she didn’t go into details. 😆
Yes it is a small world. My family visited Toms River a lot. We vacationed on Barnegat Island. A small island with the Atlantic one side and the Barnegat Bay on the other side and one main street down the center of the island. Not much in the way of commercial buildings which was great. Just rental houses and some brave residents living there year round, and a beautiful Lighthouse at one end of the island.
There were hundreds of teens that attended those dances in Wildwood. It was a safe place for teens to have a good time without the over 21 kids causing problems. It was a fun place to go without drugs, and alcohol to worry about. There was good security and run by very reputable, Pennsylvania and New Jersey Disc Jockeys from the local radio stations. They had strict rules and because of those, we had a safe place to enjoy dancing to the very best Rock and Roll music.
Side note: Bobby Rydell had a large house in Wildwood with high chain link fence around it. Us girls would go by it hoping to get a glimpse of him. Hee hee, fun times.
A different angle, for Cursday….Jeff Foxworthy…
https://www.youtube.com/shorts/30J1HtKr-Hk
Thank you Aggiegirl for a very much needed laugh out loud video. Love Jeff Foxworthy. Have a wonderful day.
Johnny Horton
Battle Of New Orleans
(1959)
Try his hat on for size.
I think this is one of, if not the first, 45 record I owned. I think my parents must have bought it though. Anyway, you couldn’t dance to it, haha.
That was always a fun song to listen to.. Thank you.
I was happy to see the following news today! God Bless Mike, IMO he is a true patriot!

Love this song! Gives me hope for the future.
One for the ladies.
Thank you 4Q2, he has a wonderful voice and is probably my favorite Country
music singer. Have a great day.
A living legend!
Nice one!

Several days ago, there was an update to software which affected web servers. It was very much a back end software that users would typically be totally unaware of.
Tens of thousands of sites went down, and probably orders of magnitude more than that.
Mine was one of them, as was Gates and RAIR Foundation and other sites we are aware of.
Fortunately, the people who actually caused this problem, released a fix for it available to hosts within 24 hours and my site was restored as well as all other sites using the same host.
GoV however is using a host that was very popular for a long time but appears to have not gotten the memo on how to repair the problems the update did.
So in summary: The initial problem was in fact incompetence, and not malice. The sustained nature of the problem at GoV is suspicious as by now a host as large and well known as GoV’s is, really oughta know how to do the fix.
Hopefully a good solution will be applied within a day or two.
Thanks nim.

Unprecedented Flooding and Mudslides Cause Chaos i #flashflood #storm #rain
Good morning nim. Oh that is awful. I am praying for these poor people. I am trying to understand why there is so much flooding going on everywhere. I am at a loss for words to describe how I am feeling about all this major flooding in these states.
I’d be hard to convince that there really IS “so much flooding going on everywhere“, compared to historical records
To a large extent much of our perception may be a result of greater news coverage and connectivity
I grew up in southeastern PA and the Jersey shore
In PA, our house was about 150 yards away from a minor feeder stream to Delaware Bay
In 1962 remnants of a hurricane (Donna?) caused bank-full flooding of the stream. Water was up to the bottom of the bridge, about 15 feet above creek bed, and flooded low-lying land across the bridge from us
If there were events at the shore, Philadelphia TV stations would have had to dispatch a camera crew for an hour-long road trip to even get on the scene
Outside of major news centers (major cities), there might or might not have been local TV stations able to field a camera crew in times past
These days, anyone with a smart phone is a ‘camera crew’, and video files can be uploaded to local, regional, and national news centers
As a result, we see everything … or at least everything that’s fit to print
Similarly, tallies of dollar damages keep increasing relentlessly, not necessarily because of any climate trend but because of more building and more property in harm’s way
I’ve read that in the big flash flood of the church camps 2 wks ago, there were similar floods in the historical record (Guadalupe River?)
And as in my 1962 example, flooding in any locality can depend on when it gets clobbered by a hurricane or similar storm. The Guadalupe flash flood was caused by remnants of tropical storms coming up from the Gulf of America and Pacific coast of Mexico. That’s a normal annual weather pattern for that part of Texas.
Any locality can go a long time with “normal” weather yet still get clobbered when events line up right
So one needs to be cautious in attributing trends or judgements about weather and climate
“Everyone talks about the weather but no one does anything about it”
— Some Sage
Nim, with all due (and much deserved) respect, yours is not an invalid argument, but it may be a somewhat incomplete one.
In “days gone by” the historical record often came days or weeks after a weather-related catastrophe; but it came nonetheless from even the most remote areas of the nation (or world) provided someone heard of it and had connections to officials or newspapers in more urban or more populated areas.
Thus there are records going back to the early days of our nation post-Revolutionary War, but often those records are only in local archives and have not all been uploaded to the internet. My own small village had several floods in the early 19th century that are not listed among “official” weather records for Maryland. Only the flood of 1868 is listed as it wiped out our town at the time. However a flood in 1806 and one in the early 1830s are listed locally as “unsubstantiated” (only because no newspaper reported them). If we extrapolate that scenario across the U.S., it becomes reasonable to understand that official records are often incomplete.
There is hard proof that weather modification is occurring and has been going on for many decades post WWII. They used it in Vietnam to flood out known hideouts of Viet Cong, besides using a chemical (“Agent Orange”) to defoliate the trees. I think they had limited success with the weather mods back then because they didn’t yet have the plethora of directed energy tools that are most effective.
Remember that (weaponized) geoengineering most frequently happens by taking advantage of a brewing weather system and artificially enhancing it / intensifying it / steering it (using HAARP and/or similar directed energy sources – fixed, airborne, and space-based) over targeted regions, knowing fairly accurately how much water they can “wring” out of a system and the geographical location where the most intense precipitation can be induced. Also, they generally cannot fabricate an intense rainstorm out of calm, clear weather where significant moisture is not present nor can be steered into the area from any nearby source / system.
But you cannot find much this by searching with mainstream search engines controlled by globalist-owned/run corporations. With those you just get MSM and government sources disparaging all weaponized geoengineering claims with the same narratives they’ve used for decades (with much success). You have to use a non-US based search engine that has no government agenda built into its search results filters…
Sure miss rah

Thanks nim. I was raised in King of Prussia, Pa. What part of the Jersey shore did you live? We vacationed on Barnegat Island just about every summer we could when Dad was home on leave and not doing a tour on an Aircraft Carrier.
Yes you are correct, we get the news so quickly now than we did growing up. That certainly does play a part. Have a great evening and again thanks for your response.
July 1869 the Guadalupe river in Texas flooded to over 42 feet, three feet higher than this year. It’s weather.

Of course there were no dash cams back then so, lacking any sworn statements from willing witnesses, it was a he said/she said argument.
Problem was that rear end collisions without 3rd party witnesses were almost always considered to be the following driver’s fault.

Good afternoon Peace. Thank you. This is one of my favorite pieces of music.
I keep a CD of The Nutcracker Suite in my car and in my home and I play it quite a bit during December, leading up to Christmas. Have a blessed afternoon and evening.
never gets old
No it doesn’t, but it will make me grin as it brings to mind, if my memory is correct, the scene from Fantasia of the hippos dressed as ballerinas and alligators dancing with them. That scene always made me laugh. Ha Ha!
Reminds me of Fantasia, which I saw and loved as a child. I thought it one of Disney’s finest works for children….
In the story the Nutcracker Suite was played (Leopold Stokowsky conducting the Philadelphia Orchestra), of which Waltz of the Flowers was included. I had an LP record of the score for years…until it somehow disappeared …

Golden Retrievers? The risk in increased…also for border collies, shelties, scotties…the common denominator is a link to scottish genetics…mostly bladder cancers, but other types too as I sadly found out.
There was a study published by Purdue, 20+ years ago…its been scrubbed from the net….that found the causative chemical…which is present in all fertilizers with or without weed killer at the time…I went to a few hardware and big box stores, about 2014, with my magnifying glass and looked at the labels on a variety of brands…that advertised ‘safe for children and pets when used in accordance with directions’…everyone I looked at, had it…
2,4 D or 2, 4 Dichlorophenoxyacetic acid.
I lost a Golden Retriever because of that…and a sheltie…
hi aggie
i have a border collie
love my doggie
have not used chems on my lawn in many years
i dont feed it
dont need it
Peace, I have never used weed killer or fertilizer on my lawn. I like the dandelions when they come up in the Spring. I’ve not had any cancer problems with any of my dogs and I think it is because I don’t use those things.
At the ranch I had a manure spreader that I used for my pastures to get the grass nice and green and growing for the cows and horses. It was the best way to recycle the horse and chicken stuff from the stall and coop. I had beautiful pastures! I never sprayed them with weed killer either.
Love my weeds too
Dandelions and clover
You had cows and horses and chickens
on your ranch
You’ve had
a wonderful life
Lots of hard work I bet
I don’t use pesticides or weed killers
I do use lots of oils
Garlic oil in water
for slugs
Peppermint oil
for bugs
My plants
They give me hugs
Mix em with water and put in a small spray bottle
Also I plant lots of lemon balm
Nature gave us what we need
☘️
Patience, beer in low saucers work really well for slugs too. They are attracted to the beer and drown in it. Essential oils are great for lots of things.
I spray my plants with a garlic solution to keep the bugs away. Companion planting also helps keep certain pests away from vegetable plants. I plant radish seeds with my squash, cucumber and melon plants. It keeps the squash bugs away. Marigolds are good around vegetables to keep insects away too. Yes, nature provides for all our needs doesn’t it? Have a great evening.
I lived on an acre in WI for a while. I used no chemicals. My yard was always green, but in the summer it was plantains instead of grass. In the spring there were swaths of johnny-jump-ups in white and pink and purple. My yard always had fireflies where my neighbors had none. One year we didn’t mow for most of July; 3 years later I had tons of fireflies because they had had a chance to mate without being mowed up. It was beautiful. (They have a 3-year life cycle.)
Good info. to know!
Loads of neighbors walk dogs around here. They may find the (😱) weeds under my hugh pine unsightly, but don’t realize
-that their dogs are safer
than all the other grass their pups mark.
🤧-So sorry….. , Aggie.
EACH DAY WE TAKE UP THE OFFENSIVE WEAPON OF THE WORD OF GOD – THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT – ONE VERSE OPENS THE DOOR TO THE CONTEXT OF THE CHAPTER MESSAGE
Verse of the Day for Thursday, July 24, 2025
✟
“Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:”
Isaiah 26:4 (KJV)
COMMENTARY FOR ISAIAH 26
The Divine mercies encourage to confidence in God. (1-4) His judgments. (5-11) His people exhorted to wait upon Him. (12-19) Deliverance promised. (20,21)
(1-4) “That day,” seems to mean when the New Testament Babylon shall be levelled with the ground. The unchangeable promise and covenant of the Lord are the walls of the church of God. The gates of this city shall be open. Let sinners then be encouraged to join to the Lord. Thou wilt keep him in peace; in perfect peace, inward peace, outward peace, peace with God, peace of conscience, peace at all times, in all events. Trust in the Lord for that peace, that portion, which will be for ever. Whatever we trust to the world for, it will last only for a moment; but those who trust in God shall not only find in him, but shall receive from him, strength that will carry them to that blessedness which is for ever. Let us then acknowledge him in all our ways, and rely on him in all trials.
Commentary by Matthew Henry, 1710.

Thank You, Jesus, for blessings received and prayers answered !!!
WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ABUSED, MISSING, AND TRAFFICKED CHILDREN
BE MY VOICE
JESUS LOVES THE LITTLE CHILDREN
CHILD NOT CHOICE
St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle, be our protection against the wickedness and snares of the devil. May God rebuke him we humbly pray; and do thou, O Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell Satan and all the evil spirits who prowl about the world seeking the ruin of souls.
Amen.
PLEASE PRAY FOR ONE ANOTHER
MAPA = MAKE AMERICA PRAY AGAIN
FORGIVE ME, LORD
Your commands are simple – but hard to keep;
For falling short of your precepts – I weep;
For the consequence of sin is surely death;
Separation from You – gasping for breath!
What have I done – what is missing from me?
How could it have happened – how could it be?
Where have I failed – fallen short in my faith;
With Your Grace removed – I wallow in wraith!
Send forth Your Spirit – to help me discern;
Give me Your Wisdom – please help me to learn;
You know my heart, Lord – as no person can;
Help me uncover – what’s for me in your plan!
There are no excuses for falling short;
Nor are their reasons to which we resort;
No justification could we conjure up now;
For thwarting our relation to God anyhow!
I pray You will lead be me back to Your path;
Let me not stumble – or suffer Your wrath;
Hide Your face not from me – be near, Oh Lord;
Teach me and reach me – through Your Holy Word!
As I pray in the Word – let Your scriptures speak;
Help me be humble – help me be meek;
Let Your Spirit instruct – let Him convict;
Open my eyes, Lord – let my heart be pricked!
Reveal in my heart – Your message today;
Remove the distraction – let nothing defray;
From the outside in – and inside outward;
Forgive Me, Lord – help me move about ward!
Whether or not you believe it could be;
The righteous man sins seven times – daily;
Therefore it’s important – prudent for he;
To repent, reconcile and – be holy!
The Bible tells us – do pray unceasingly;
Keep God in your heart – ever increasingly;
Be mindful and watchful of what you do;
Say – defray – don’t delay – He wants you!
Do you think for a moment salvation is free?
Do you think God offers it unconditionally?
Our Lord, Jesus Christ, paid the ransom for sin;
Your sins are forgiven – to let you back in!
When you entertain demons – devils defy;
Your soul is in jeopardy – can you see why?
The Spirit lives not in a temple defiled;
With no inspiration – you are beguiled!
A devil comes in all shapes and sizes;
Temptation is simple – he so devises;
There are deadly sins – yes – seven in all;
That sneak up on you – like a plague befall!
Just when you think all is going quite well;
That pesky devil lures you to hell;
Watch your back – your tongue – be ever prayerful;
Repent seven times – and please be careful!
Be slow to anger and quick to forgive;
Put on your armor – continue to live;
With faith and through grace under protection;
Pass all your tests and do pass inspection!
Forgive Me, Lord – for I have failed again;
Alas, I’m not perfect – like You – Amen;
Please heal me – reveal me – refresh me anew;
Remain by Your side – ever faithful to You!
