The Maryland Army National Guard has launched an investigation into Tim Kennedy, a Green Beret serving as a Master Sergeant in the National Guard’s Special Operations Detachment-O, known for his career as an MMA Fighter as well as his close-relationship amongst the veteran community and senior leadership at the Pentagon, after he publicly admitted this week to lying about parts of his military service, including falsely claiming on a tv show in 2017 that he received a Bronze Star Medal with Valor.
Major Benjamin Hughes, a Spokesman for the Maryland National Guard stated, “The Maryland National Guard takes these matters seriously. Integrity is a core value of our organization, so an investigation is currently underway to review the facts surrounding these public misstatements.”

From what I read, Tim Kennedy sounds like a good person. He should not have claimed he won a medal that he didn’t and it seems like it took him too long to admit it. I’m a Vietnam era veteran who makes it abundantly clear that I never left the US. I’m proud that I volunteered for the draft in late ’71 and that I served honorably but I don’t need to lie and steal from combat veterans that which is theirs.

I don’t think it’s useful to minimize someone’s (or my own) consequences by asserting, as offsetting factor, that I am/they are “a good person”. Both the actions and the consequences speak for themselves.
The reasoning reminds of that phrase we sometimes hear when someone has behaved really badly/violently/rudely in a very public way and the follow-up PR starts or ends with, “That is not who I am….” mmmm….but apparently it is…..

The US government does not recognize dual citizenship; only the American part of the duality. The Constitution does not allow for the suspension of American Citizens’ rights simply because they choose to hold foreign citizenship simultaneously.

Citizenship conference is the purview of the US State Department. Feel free to search yourself. The US does not officially recognize dual citizenship, however it does not prevent a citizen from seeking citizenship in another country.

In scanning the One Big Beautiful Bill, did not see anything to that effect; here is a link and you can search for yourself. The Health Savings Account info most likely is in Section 71306, but also might be in 71307 which mentions a higher premium for Bronze and catastrophic plans.
The only reference that I saw to the HSA’s is they are for primary care, though there is no mention of gym membership, which I know is in some Medicare Advantage programs.
Not involved with HSA’s, not that up to speed on what those cover, but scroll in those sections and perhaps you will see what you are looking for.

That is true, but you can loose your citizenship for treason, or renouncing your citizenship at the same time applying for foreign citizenship. Now for Naturalized citizenship it is a lot easier to get your citizenship revoked and deported. These processes start at the State Department, ten move to the courts.
But the President cannot simply “remove” your citizenship because (s)he doesn’t like you anymore. That threat is empty, and he had no business saying it.

Rosie applied for citizenship in Ireland and it hasn’t yet been granted.

If the citizenship is granted she would be a dual citizen unless she renounces her US citizenship.

Regarding the Extradition Treaty between the US and Ireland, I don’t think Ireland would extradite an Irish citizen, but that issue requires more research.

Now that the BBB has been signed, President Trump, The Executive Branch, in toto, ….. while still handling all of the foreign relations and economic duties of the presidency, ….. will address the departments in the Executive Branch that have elements that are “dysfunctional, disloyal and dangerous” to various degrees.
As of day 174, President Trump has had success in many departments by appointing competent MAGA directors who have proceeded to implement America First policies while at the same time discharging the biden carryovers.
Attention now must be given to the departments that still have dysfunctional, disloyal and dangerous elements to various degrees.
Here is a partial list of those departments: DOJ and the associated 3-letter departments, sans ATF previously transferred under Department of Defense management.
Since they are all within the Executive Branch, President Trump has a wide range of options to remove the threat they pose to our Constitutional Republic and our Constitution.
He illustrated that ability earlier this year when he moved the ATF to be under the Department of Defense. He also removed from the FBI the research and processing of the “security clearances” for most of the Executive Branch personnel. He moved it over to the Department of Defense. He also moved some of the CIA functions from under John Ratcliffe to be under Tulsi Gabbard. He also moved the stand alone USAID department to be under Marco Rubio at the State Department who shut it down.
Yup, President Trump knows how to ….. and has experience at ….. defanging the unconstitutional personnel and departments within the Executive Branch.
He is ready, willing and able to do it. After the BBB was signed, he now has the time and the $$$ to do it.
To paraphrase, President Trump campaigned on removing from the Executive Branch all federal employee who are “dysfunctional, disloyal and dangerous.” Promises made, promises kept.
He can do it by following his oath and he doesn’t have to ask any stinkin’ congressman, senator or jurist.

The reason Trump would be interested in playing along is that, while the Supreme Court recently temporarily lifted a stay on his tariffs plan, the litigation continues, before a skeptical judge who already tried to kill the tariffs once, and is still seeking a way to shut them down for good at the end of the month.
But a bill like this, if passed, would give Trump a whole new, Congressionally-approved toolkit, and it would blow all the current anti-tariff lawsuits out of the water.”

1. Run the debt up to the point that nobody is dumb enough to lend us more, and then default on the debt / go bankrupt. All our creditors are wiped out.
The problem here is all debt is an asset to the wealthy entity that owns it as an income stream. Since the wealthy run the status quo in a manner that serves their interests, they’re unlikely to be thrilled with debt jubilees that zero out their assets and income or messy defaults that end up doing the same thing.
So nix that option. The wealthy want to keep their wealth and income streams, and since they own US Treasuries, they’re not going to approve defaulting on that debt.
2. Inflate the debt away with sustained high inflation. So we borrowed $1 when $1 bought a lot of stuff, and now we’ve inflated everything so it takes $10 to buy what $1 bought back then. Now we can pay back the $1 with a fraction of the earnings it took back when we borrowed it.
We’ve already taken that step–what once cost $1 now costs $10. So the next step is to do another 10X reduction in the debt via inflation.
In previous eras, authorities reduced the silver content of coinage to near-zero, effectively devaluing the money, i.e. inflating away the debt. What cost one mostly-silver denarius in the good old days soon cost 100 devalued denarius.
This looks like some pretty easy hocus-pocus to pull off, but there’s a catch: Catch-19, which is devaluing the money devalues trust in the leadership, social contract and the future, all of which leaves the economy and society a hollowed-out shell awaiting a stiff breeze to push the whole system off the cliff.
The problem here is inflation is distributed asymmetrically, along with the primary surplus. The wealthy, powerful elites skim off the surplus, and they’re equally adept at distributing the “inflation tax” to the middle and working classes, which soon meld into a single class, the impoverished.
A funny thing about Wetware 1.0 is we’re hard-wired to take note of rampant unfairness and eventually we respond in a destabilizing fashion, for example, uprisings, revolts, revolutions, etc.
3. The third option is to root out all the moral rot that’s consuming the economy’s surplus and our future, scrap all the programs designed in the bygone eras of 50+ years ago (defense, Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, higher education, etc.) and start from scratch with new programs whose expenses are limited to what the economy generates as surplus.
In other words, go Cold Turkey on our addiction to living on debt.
Yes, I know: ain’t gonna happen, because the moral rot is too deep, it’s now normalized to the point that we don’t even recognize the reality that there’s nothing left but a flimsy facade we paint with gaudy colors to hide the rot.
Everyone assumes the empire is forever and can endlessly fund any amount of grift and graft with borrowed money. But this is a self-serving fantasy, not reality. Every empire of debt implodes.
I choose #4. Let a booming economy and tariffs pay off the debt while excess spending is cut and MAGA.
#2 with some #3 is really the only option. Unless we do something totally unexpected, such as to perfect nuclear fusion to the point where we can create gold, or capture an asteroid made of platinum.

Back when the conversation concerning who our next Vice President would be very few people said it would be J.D. Vance.

Two friends attended the Turning Point USA convention in Detroit last year*, and during the convention the attendees were asked to vote on who they’d choose for President Trump’s VP. None of the people who were being seriously considered at the time were included in that poll, but J.D. Vance was.
Apparently Vance was highlighted and sold big-time during that convention, and when the results came back, the attendees “chose” Vance.
My friends did not vote; they saw the entire situation as a set-up. I loved hearing that they saw through the swamp water, and wondered how many other people saw it as a sales pitch against President Trump.
