Hey guys, all okay but communication is challenging. Internet is intermittent and now mobile networks subject to sporadic shutdowns.
Unexpected challenges. But such is life way outside the wire. I’m working through optimal solutions as I write.
Love to all,

Praying for you Sundance
I wish there was an alternative to Starlink
I think Musks empire needs to be nationalized, or at least becomes a platform for resellers and innovators
the idea that a crazy person like Musk controls so much critical infrastructure is an EPIC national security risk
his latest crazy scheme to setup the BRICS Party using xAI stolen from MAGA social networks is the latest in a long list of scams
Francisco d’Anconia came to mind as soon as I saw that one word, “…nationalized.” Atlas Shrugged readers will recall what he did to his own copper mines rather than have the mines taken over by the government.
yes, but all of Musks businesses literally wouldnt exist without government
and their biggest customer is the government
Ayn Rand is a complete fantasy, get real
Ayn Rand was ahead of her time . . . as things play out, her seemingly bizarre notions become plausible.
My first Ayn Rand book that I read was “Anthem”. Our Social Sciences teacher gave it to us to read (in the seventh grade). It read like science fiction . . . what is called “dystopian”. I re-read it a few years ago and was amazed that he didn’t get in trouble for having us read it, for one thing or another.
It seemed at the first time I read it that it was really “way out there” . . . how could all that come to pass?
Now listening to the “Climate Change” and “Global Warming” adherents who seem to want us to let go of every advancement and the things like petroleum that have helped make it possible plus the Marxist collectivist agenda being fulfilled, it now seems quite possible!
Flagged by mistake, sorry – fat thumb..
And yes, I do – he destroyed his own businesses, slowly, one by one to avoid being stopped.
THANKS for the Expansion of my narrow Reads.
I Appreciate Ayn Rand but never had heard of this one.
Our Reads in the 70’s were Bradbury, Stephen Vincent Benét, Mark Twain, Homer, …
And Aldous Huxley, “Brave New World”.
George Orwell, “1984”, “Animal Farm”.
All three were summer reading for me in 1967, at a most conservative school.
You read “Anthem” in 7th grade. Today’s 7th graders cannot read analog clocks.
Or cursive
Once algore realized people ACTUALLY bought insurance to protect themselves AND their businesses from Y2K … he “invented” Carbon Credits … to offset the fiction that is Man Made Global Warming – or Nuclear Freeze – or just plain old ordinary year-in & year-out – Climate Change.
Has anyone tried to cash in their Carbon Credits – or did they change into – L. O. L. Sucker !!!
I first read “The Fountainhead” at 15 (1960) and then, during the 1960’s, I read “Atlas Shrugged” four times. My husband can’t stand her writing style and gave up on her. My philosophy-prof friend Kelley L. Ross wrote the following: Ayn Rand (born Alice Rosenbaum) is a fascinating person and an inspiring advocate of freedom but a very mixed blessing philosophically. Her novels The Fountainhead and Atlas Shrugged are still best selling introductions to the ideas of personal freedom and of the free market. As literature they may have drawbacks, but they are compelling “reads,” which is certainly what Rand would have wanted. Rand’s passionate and moralistic tone, while off-putting to many, is nevertheless probably a real part of her appeal and is no less than an equal and opposite reaction to the self-righteousness that is still characteristic of leftist rhetoric. Few writers convey an irresistible ferocity of convictions as Rand does. To many, including the present writer, raised and indoctrinated with the standard disparagements of capitalism, a novel like Atlas Shrugged can produce something very much like a Conversion Experience. At the same time, the harsh certainty of an autodidact and self-made person, and the high handed authoritarian manner of Rand’s personality, worked against her case, her cause, and her life.
Although David Kelley, Leonard Peikoff, and others now try to develop her thought into a complete philosophical system, nothing can hide the relative shallowness of her knowledge: . . .cont. https://friesian.com/rand.htm
A good balanced take on Ayn.
She broke me out of a solid leftist bubble when I read Atlas one weekend around our bicentennial.
Read it every year until DJT came down the escalator, and many new things became clear to me.
But I paired her with another influence: C.S. Lewis. Also read Chronicles every year.
Gained so much from both…
Anthem was my first read then Atlas Shrugged and Fountainhead.
Those books plus Think and Grow Rich by Napolean Hill and W. Clement Stone changed my philosophy and my life.
I have DO IT NOW emblazoned in my brain for 55 of my 85 years.
I followed the same path. Was actually introduced to Ayn Rand by Neil Peart the drummer of the Canadian prog rock band Rush who inspired many of his lyrics including a song called “Anthem”
A high school friend was enthusiastic about Ayn Rand. I gave it a try but couldn’t muster interest. My love was the many saints I had encountered in Catholic elementary school; they went far beyond obsession with money and ego, transcending it all to engage with creating a better world
My first Ayn Rand book was For the New Intellectual, when I was a teenager. It definitely got my attention and explained a lot to me about the world I lived in.
I went on to read every work of hers I could find.
I feel like I’ve spent decades watching Atlas Shrugged slowly unfold.
“When the lights go out in New York City…….”
So, your answer is MORE government??….defies logic.
this is the mistake conservatives always make, they get government and say, on principle we will not use government
then they are shocked when Democrats and RINOS take control of government and crush them
again, get real
this is the keystone of MAGA
less ideals, more deals
Nothing like resorting to communism to solve a problem.
Nationalizing would be a bad idea. Using anti-trust laws would be the way.
Yes.
PDJT always uses the law. Properly.
Ideals are cheap
Deals are expensive
Here Here!
Her fantasy was based in reality
And I would add, Sandra – part of that reality is the reality of human nature of some people – those who would leap on the idea of being able to force other people to give up what the created.
Using altruism as does the character Ellsworth Toohey in “The Fountainhead” to hit the individualist, like Howard Roark . . . Ellsworth Toohey, one of the original “Social Justice” warriors!
‘We The Living’ is as close to an autobiography as you will find on Ayn Rand. Her books were based on living the hell of communism.
Yep.
She was an eye witness to the Communist revolution in Russia and its aftermath, after all.
Give it a rest and get real yourself. Since when is Big Brother benevolent?
Bigger government doing even more?
You can get real.
Ayn Rand is a complete fantasy, get real
She was and still a Teacher in the best sense of the word.
Such a pity most of us cannot learn what she offers.
What did Ayn Rand predict that hasn’t come true? Or haven’t you actually *read* her?
Thank you! I think that sounds like a bad idea!
Elon Musk is the Chairman of the BRICS Party
his parties constituency is the BRICS mercs that have gamed the work and student visa system with white collar crime, systemic fraud and abuse
Musk has pissed off Americans, left, right, former employees and business partners
now, his only constituency looks like basically all the beneficiaries of corrupt STEM work and student visas
Tesla / X / xAI is a H1B visa ponzi scheme, without Indian engineers he would be bankrupt
the secretary of the BRICS Party (America Party) is the India born CFO of Tesla
https://substack.com/@reneeleegreco/note/c-132588966?utm_source=notes-share-action
Musk had fanatical employees, but he burned them all and now he is replacing them with Indian (and some Chinese) H1B
https://substack.com/home/post/p-167610446
and I guess, Musk will eventually discard the Indian and BRICS mercs and replace them with robots
and at that point, he will shoot off to become the Tehnocratic Aartheid Oligarch of Mars
also, the BRICS invasion is happening in all the corporates and big tech
AI is Actually India

Yes
Means of production should never be nationalized. That is far along the road toward totalitarianism.
We can’t advocate for takeover of the means of production by government. That’s economic suicide.
Please dope-slap that into Mamdani, before he finishes off NYC.
I love New York, the greatest city in the world. As John Lennon said when asked why he chose to live in NYC, he replied, if he lived during the Roman Empire he’d want to live in Rome. In the modern world it is New York. The center of the world.
I first encountered Donald Trump when I was interning in the Chrysler Building and he was converting the Commodore Hotel into the Grand Hyatt across the street.
President Trump is the quintessential New Yorker. I pray for the once great city and center of culture to persevere and overcome the dire threat to its future.
In recent years it seems that we’re already there.
Forget the “nationalized” nonsense. Everything the government touches turns to shit, to quote a President.
Please, let’s all calm down about Elon Musk. It ill becomes us to go off the deep end like this.
Golly. Nationalization may not be the “American Way”, but I’ve seen nothing in THIS discussion that approaches the deep end, at least not yet.
However, over in the
ELON MUSK ANNOUNCES THE CREATION OF A THIRD PARTY discussion, yeah, they’ve crossed over in the last several hours.
We are living in interesting times.
Given Musk’s outing himself, my recent thought have been on Musk and any possibility he uses Starlink to hamper PDJT’s agenda and manipulate all he can manipulate; perhaps even false flags. Is that a concern?
If so, Who will be keeping an eye on what he does or will do now that he’s opposing both political parties?
It’s sad that people like you would throw away our freedoms in order to satisfy your hate.
Yes, but who gets to decide who is crazy?
Who decides on the criteria for “crazy?”
How far will they be permitted to go to enforce their decision?
And who gets to control these assets once they are seized?
I am kinda worried about setting a precedent, here…
there are several other options. just depends on what your needs are and the regionS (points to points) that you want to communicate. what kinds of service, data/bandwidth capacity, and of course budget.
viasat “unleashed” (“public owned” but largest shareholder is black rock)
hughesnet (echostar, a offshot from at&t)
project kuiper (amazon)
oneweb (France)
space sail (china)
each has its own advantages and limits, so you really have to drill down and due diligence.
as far as global coverage and speed as well as the novel and unique mobile transceiver capability, starlink is probably going to be the best service overall.
there continues to be some obstacles for using a typical smart phone for “cell call like” communications, and as you would imagine this is due lobby and regulation restrictions so the mobile cell companies continue to operate without competition. I predict this will change radically in the next 4-10 years but there will have to be some regional ground infrastructure upgrades to make it as reliable as you currently experience.
LEO communications satellites is a growing business segment that is likely going to transfer a LOT of wealth…as well you can predict that regulations about how communications are surveillance and scooped up is going to come up short of what you probably would prefer. It will be essentially the same as now: everything you do on a smart phone, just assume the central secret police spy state is tracking you and has your information in near real time. That’s not going to go away with satellite comms. Regulations in this area are going to be legally complex..who owns radio transmissions in international unrestricted “space”?
I plan to buy a starlink mobile unit later this year. I have a certain need and will be on the road more frequently. relying on cell 5g in some areas for “hot spot” isn’t going to satisfy my bandwidth requirements. about 3 computers and at least 3 other smart devices. It will be expensive, but starlink provides the best high speed link in all the areas that I will be traveling. It’s changed quite a bit over the last three years. much more coverage and far less disconnects. I also wanted to wait until starlink was more mature and could provide better packages.
hope this helps
God Bless America
Terrible idea!!!
Amen!
How many satellites does musk have in space to run starlink? Who does he ‘get permission from to send them up there? What if 2/ 3 competitors decided to do same, what then? How is that regulated and by whom?
Why would “they” pick on a nice guy like you? heh
God Speed SD. You got this. Prayers🙏❤️
I love this 🌳🏠 family.

Far outside the wire – where my white haired uncle waits….
He says it used to be a farm…
Nice reference.
I believe I will be the “white haired uncle”…. I have some “old machines” that I’ve rebuilt and enjoy… It will be my niece that comes to visit though.. This old farm will be hers.
Godspeed and safe travels Sundance. You are a true patriot.
Stay safe Sundance, the Treeper family has got your back.
Godspeed Sundance !!!
They have Verizon over there too?
We’ll let you back inside the wire whenever you want.

Thank you! You show us life outside the wire!
To me “way outside the wire” would be New York City.

I think that this article yesterday is tied to the article here.
Me thunks you are correct in your thunking! <smiles>
At this time in America, in my opinion, there are only two people who express truth in their words without subterfuge, you Sundance and President Trump.
When you speak we take note and believe you have the best interest of Americans at heart.
Godspeed and keep us posted.
Lorraine, it is my belief that a number of Treepers here express truth with their words, following the leadership and examples set by Sundance and President Trump.
Can’t srop the signal SD 🙂

I use Spectrum, — TV, landline, and internet — and only my internet shut down for a short while. Second time it’s happened recently, too.
Spectrum service trucks are frequently working near my location.
Not knowing what is happening in/around the region (govt silence on most military issues here), I can only assume from western reporting that Ukraine’s strikes on Russian airbases is causing the RU govt to deploy new countermeasures.
The shutdown of compatible cell phone networks is a new problem. And I can confirm standard commercial air traffic is also being affected. The RU govt shut down the internet, and now perhaps the drone jamming is shutting down cell phone networks too. I’m not sure.
Again, I’m not a communication tech expert and only know the impacts from the stuff that circumvents my traditional workarounds.
The general public is unaffected and don’t seem in the least disturbed; although if you were a domestic passenger at an airport, the flight delays are likely frustrating.
FYI, as a standard practice the following websites are blocked by the Russian govt.: Instagram, YouTube, Rumble, Twitter, Politico and any media determined by the Russians to be state operated (NYT, CBS, Politico, WaPo).
Conversely many U.S. companies like Truth Social block traffic from many countries outside the USA, including Russia. There are just as many companies operating inside the USA who block traffic from Russia, as there are Russian Govt blocks on USA websites. I’m sure both sides can justify their reasons.
Interestingly, Russia does allow internet traffic to Gateway Pundit and CTH.
Although some (very few) VPN’s can overcome both hurdles (USA blocks/RU blocks), this aspect of gamesmanship within information sharing is super annoying.
If I don’t use the word “Russia” in my main post writing, please accept there’s a reason for that. In the public space, and with a public website that does not filter hard truths, I am always dodging and weaving through the information filter knuckleheads.
Thanks for your understanding…
~SD
Stay safe Sundance!
There’s nothing you do that isn’t 💯% common sense, in my opinion.
Best of luck and be safe!
Sounds like quite an adventure. Stay safe.
Godspeed. We’re always relieved when we read that you’re back in your home bailiwick safely.
And interested in what you’ve learned.

Well alrighty then!!!!! Keep on rocking CTH.
Along with the other branches on this Tree, adding prayers for continual safe travels and return.
Comcast has been that way all week for me.

Ha! Xfinity/ComCast guaranteed me that I would get 1,300 megabits/sec unlimited. Right now I’m getting 7 megabits.
I’m going to go through the excruciating process of calling them for service tomorrow. If I don’t like the response I may just go Starlink. Slower but I am so tired of being screwed by the A-holes!
Here in rural Hawaii, Starlink is just about the only connection possible. It’s very very fast, faster than any cable set up. We’ve had some pretty good storms come through over the last six months, but there’s been no effect on the connection during these periods.
I’m glad your happy with it but per the Starlink official specs their speeds are much slower than what cable promises. However promises are not what counts. Performance is what counts and I’m not getting anything like the performance promised. I
I am on satellite for TV already because of ComCast failing to perform. When I went to internet only it has worked great for 3 years but now the last couple months it has sucked. Having dealt with the local offices before with TV and their failure to fix my problems with TV reception I will be surprised if they are any better for internet. But we shall see.

Right now, my Starlink is running 218 MBPS, 16.4 MBPS upload and 69 MS latency.
From the sticks in NW washington: got burned for years by century link as the only available service, until they announced they were dumping us. No alternatives existed at the time.
Fortunately Starlink immediately stepped up and made service available, at better prices, and the service has been exponentially better, without fail.
I’m hugely grateful.
<Here in rural Hawaii, Starlink is just about the only connection possible.
It’s very very fast, faster than any cable set up.>
You had me at: ‘Here in rural Hawaii’ 🙂
Same here in the sticks in far northwest washington. Very grateful.
I use Tmobile Gateway, like tethering to your cell phone. I have had it for 5 years,,I get 600Mbits down,90 to 110 Mb up, no caps ,unlimited data .If you have a Tmobile phone it is 30 bucks a month, just gateway 50 bucks.
Interesting.. while in Europe, (Slovenia) my spectrum mobile got turned off and I was locked out of my account. Fortunately I had an alternative eSIM. Flying home was interrupted by air traffic control being on “strike” in France/Austria and impacted our flights thru Germany.. more going on than meets the eye..
Love to you too Sundance
God bless and watch your six! 🙏
When would the timing be right for PT to normalize relations w the Bear? Only after a peace accord?

Praying for you and yours Sundance. Stay safe. “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.” Psalm 46:1
Blessings and prayers for Sundance to be safe & successful!
Love you, MAGA Brother 👊👊❤️❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🙏🏻🙏🏻
Outside the wire? We’re all outside the wire, now.
Keep an eye skyward for those drones, brother.
We’re here; Sundance; and we ain’t going anywhere.
God bless you, sir.
🙏🏼🕊️❤️
Godspeed Sundance .. thanks for all you do for all of us, even the ungrateful ones.. Prayers are with you
Sounds like a good time to sit back with Dimitri, toss a couple Stoli shots (can they get Grey Goose in RU?) and enjoy your surroundings. You deserve an outside the wire and off the grid kind of day.
We’ll leave the light on for ya. Take care.
When you look at what happens during natural disasters, which many of us have experience with, you know how critical information is to the people out there in the middle of nowhere with nothing for weeks on end..
This could easily be cities and huge areas not just pockets of rural people out there..
Then think about if we were attacked in some way.. there are plenty of scenarios we all envision.
You really can’t depend upon cell phones or even electricity to be there, the attack we get could be to the grid or some sort of cyber attack.
I myself feel like this is the most likely sort of situation..
In a time like this, it’s pretty critical to know how to do things in very old fashioned ways.
The people with these skills are literally the ones that will make it.
For all these reasons, I have often seen the need of old fashioned newspapers printed on paper that could be gotten around your community simply and easily to get information to people about whatever, anything.
If you have the means to do this and see a need around you, it might not be such a bad idea to get something going NOW.
The time to do these sorts of things is now, so that it’s ready to roll when needed..
I’m thinking of something that is designed specifically to be flexible, moveable, adaptable, ready to hand off to another if something happened to you, ready to roll in whatever way it would need to, something that can be created in the basement if needed.
Another idea would be to have it all planned out and ready to roll when the time came.. no differently than all the other plans we make for emergencies.
Rural people know who’s who around them, who can do what.. who is the person in your area that could do this, play this role?
It might be something to think about depending up your own situation around you.
This may be another base to cover.. as you plan..
Check into ham radio.
Look into radio sets used during WWII and the Korean war, powered by a sort of hand powered generator.
Quite portable.
Godspeed Sundance!
I highly reccomend this book. William McKinley: “Principles must always lead” Paperback – July 3, 2025by Robert Ingraham (Author)
It gives an intimate insight into the principles that motivated McKinley.
William McKinley is known today as the champion of high protective tariffs. That is most certainly true, and the McKinley Presidency was the zenith of the Era of Protection. But he was much more. Anti-imperial, anti-Wall street, the champion of trade unions and working-class Americans, the ally and last defender of voting and citizenship rights for black Americans and much more. His administration was the Apex of the American System of Economics, but as was the case with Abraham Lincoln, the essence of McKinley is not to be found in his policies alone. It is in examining his character and his devotion to the principles of the American Revolution that the true McKinley emerges. The often over-looked question is not “What did a man do?” but rather “Why did he do it?” It is available on Amazon Books.
It’s interesting that you write this about McKinley.
I personally know little about his actual presidency; however, the History Channel series “The Men Who Built America” said that McKinley was the bought and paid for choice of the robber barons, Morgan, Rockefeller, Carnegie, etc. for the 1896 election. And he was assassinated by a left wing anarchist for supporting the very opposite of the things you stated.
I’ve not researched it myself, but thought it was worth pointing out.
LOL….not giving up on that one! 🤣
…well… uh, no 😂
In spite of that horrible and embarrassing 😳 mistake I made identifying that subhuman in the woods.
Still gives me the shame-ridden queasies
Sundance,
If you see any old ladies, praying hard in a chapel, be sure to express my most sincere greetings to them.
Prayers for you and your loved ones. Safe journey.

Get your self a Ham Radio License, Sundance…
Hams communicate when no one else can.
I reckon you know al gore claims to have invented the internet, but it was those ol’ Hams that really did it…
Hams had repeater stations as far back as the 1950’s, we linked them to give us more coverage, When the first personal computers came out in the 70’s, Hams used them to send “Packets” of digital information via the linked repeater system… Suddenly we had al gore’s internet up and running years before poor ol’ al gore invented the internet..
So get yourself a Ham “Ticket” Lots of old fart Ham Operators still around, they will be happy to help you get the ticket and then get you “on the air”..,
I was in high school when I go my Novice but never went further.
(discovered girls)
I wonder if I can get my old call sign back.
I checked and it is not in use.
If you renew your license, I would certainly request my old call sign…
There is a “Vanity Call sign” system, but I don’t know if it is available for Novice Class Licenses…
The FCC has done away with the morse code requirement, so now all you have to pass is a written test, and study materials are available from ARRL…
Will suggest that you go for the General class license as it may be covered under the “vanity call sign” program…
Good Luck and 73!
My dear late husband (Old Vicious Nerd) was a Ham for 50 years. Wish I had joined him in his hobby. He was a communication genius and built his own radios and antennas. 73’s to all you Hams.
I got my first license when i was 14.. that was 1954!
Yes, I am an old fart! Lots of WWII surplus equipment was cheap and available, we had to convert it to the Ham bands and to use 110V, 60 cycle service as most of the surplus stuff used 400 cycle power…
But, we learned how a radio works… Yep, we also made our own antennas!
And they are all over the world.
When I lived in Guatemala in the early 60’s the only way I could speak with family was via ham radio, courtesy of another American working there. He would call…..”anyone for in the U.S. willing to make a collect call.” Usually within 30 minutes someone would respond and my mother would answer the phone with the request…”Will you accept long distance charges for (me) from (Kansas City)?
Of course, everyone was listening to our conversation and she never quite got the hang of “over” but it was wonderful just to hear her voice a few times a year.
My husband, a long distance Truck driver would call me on our land line from his Ham radio via a ‘patch’ repeater from anywhere in the states free. This was before cell phones…
Great story. Thanks for sharing it.
“Sundance, Live without a Net”.
On maneuvers again, Godspeed
Please be safe SD,,,,praying
We love you SD. God bless you SD.

Praying.
Beyond the wire. Outside the tall walls of “freedom”. Somewhere that feels more free.
Godspeed to you and the wind be at your back.
Be well Sundance. Prayers go with you.
Love you distant friend. God bless you and keep you safe.
wonder if this news story, in the Reno, Nevada CBS news station, has any bearing on this post; article title: “Russia and Ukraine trade drone strikes as Kyiv signs deals to boost drone production” (bear in mind this particular local channel is quite ‘woke’ so am sure there will be bias in the article)
