A huge win for women in sports. The University of Pennsylvania has completely reversed course and admitted they violated Title IX by allowing transgender male swimmer Lia Thomas to compete as a woman athlete.
PENNSYLVANIA – The U.S. Department of Education announced Tuesday that the University of Pennsylvania has agreed to a resolution with President Donald Trump’s administration to keep biological male trans athletes out of women’s sports, in a statement provided to Fox News Digital.
The department previously launched an investigation into UPenn on Feb. 6 for Title IX violations that occurred in the swimming program. Trans athlete Lia Thomas competed for the women’s team in the 2021-22 season, after previously competing for the men’s team.
“Today, the U.S. Department of Education (the Department) announced the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn) has entered into a Resolution Agreement to comply with Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 (Title IX),” the statement read. (read more)

This California boy and my better half spent 2 weeks in Acworth, Georgia a couple of months ago.
First night, midnight, Waffle House called. It was spitting distance from our motel. I had heard great things.

What was I thinking? I was a hurting cowboy for a couple of days, living on Tums. Never went back. Would like to try Waffle House again. Maybe next time, stick to breakfast menu items. Glad egg surcharge was removed.
Waffle Houses in Orlando were/are a mixed bag. Working in the nightclub industry my College roommate/ coworkers and I were always in search of grub at odd hours near Downtown to say the least.

The Awful Waffle, aka Waffle House, was the spot back in my Navy days. My wife, who grew up in Hampton Roads surrounded by military folks, still cracks up when I talk about those nights. She swears you could spot Navy guys from a mile away in the late ’90s and early ’00s. Our crew was a wild mix: a white dude acting like he was straight outta Compton, a Black guy dressed preppy as hell, country boys rocking cowboy hats and boots, a nerd buried in a book, black dudes who were hip-hop heads with baggy clothes, and preppy white guys looking like they just left a yacht club. All of us, one big, loud, laughing group of shipmates.
After hitting the clubs, we’d roll into Waffle House at 2 or 3 a.m., half-lit and ready for some chaos. Our favorite prank? We’d dump 20 quarters into the jukebox and cue up the Waffle House song on repeat. By the seventh play, folks in there were done. You’d see waitresses glaring, regulars cussing under their breath, and some poor guy in a booth ready to chuck his hashbrowns at us. Man, those nights were gold.
We liked Denny’s in SoCal back in the day.

Life is never easy. Think of all the people who had to choose between being injected or losing their jobs for example. Who found themselves, probably to this day, shunned by family for not.
Think of the volleyball player who is permanently disabled because a mentally ill man deliberately used his overwhelming superior physical force to aim a ball, a guided missile, straight at her head. He knew what he was doing. He should have been charged.
Just two examples.
Many times the cost of taking a moral, righteous stand against something intrinsically evil is high, and the world is full of people who have paid a terrible price for doing so. One much greater than a scholarship.
I am not minimizing the decision which would need to be made in this case. No woman should have been put in this predicament of having to choose between something she’d worked so hard for and her physical and mental safety. But there is power in numbers.
No one knows or will ever know if this whole degrading, miserable business could have been ended more quickly by blanket team refusals to pretend, to acquiesce to the sick fantasies of everyone, individually or collectively, across the whole of this country…not just at Penn State.

In numbers – but asking untold numbers of young female athletes to risk so much is asking for more courage than most of us have.
I had to make a choice – leave a 6-figure government job, or get injected with the vaxx.
Fortunately, I had enough time in the job, and was old enough, that I could retire, 2 days before the vaxx deadline (11/22/21).
It meant major changes in my family’s finances – I had wanted to work up to another 3 years – but we’ve managed. I have 2 young daughters – 7 and 11 – and will do what I must to protect them.
Did I make a stink, when I retired, ahead of schedule?
No.
Though it was clear what I was doing.
Everyone that knew me, knew exactly Why I left.
And there were some who recognized what I did… but none who followed.
I learned how lonely some decisions can be, even when you are sure it’s the right one – remember Gary Cooper in High Noon? As sheriff, he decided to defend the town – even though Not One citizen joined him.
Other people I worked with, in mid-career, had a much starker choice.

But it wasn’t a ‘choice’.
It was coercion.
The vaxx propaganda and the trans propaganda were and are everywhere – and you do need to admit, between 75-80% of our fellow citizens DID get at least 1 vaxx injection.

Wow, praise God for that! This is why I disagreed with people who were saying that these women should just drop out of competitions where a guy pretending to be a girl was competing. I felt that even if it wasn’t fair, you compete to establish your own record and speed. (In instances where the entire team withdrew, that made a more effective statement.)
But I always felt that in case this wrong was eventually corrected, and the guy was disqualified, you are in position to claim your rightful spot as the winner. If you just cancelled, the race goes on, and you have no established record of your own to stand on.

A couple of quick questions.
1. Did William Thomas legally change his name to Lia Thomas?
2. Does William Thomas still have his junk? It seems to me if he’d had gone under the knife, we would have heard about it.
If the answers are no and yes, then why the hell is anybody calling him Lia?
