Good morning Betsy. This one just made me laugh out loud! You find the best “Cursday” images. Love them.
Cleo update: The kittens are just running free in the laundry room! Can’t keep them in the basket any longer. I’ve got puppy pads down, but it appears they have begun using the littler box. I’ve tried feeding them kitten food, but they prefer stealing mom’s food, so I frequently just put out extra food. Some are still nursing a bit, but not often. Percy is the naughtiest of them all (figures I would choose that one)! If I leave the door open for awhile she will climb up the gate and try to explore the rest of the house. Until I can de-flea them, I’ll let them explore a little. I am constantly counting heads, as they manage to find a way to get behind the washer and dryer, even though I’ve tried to block their way. They are not a bit afraid of Beau, my dog. That’s a good thing and he seems to sense that they are a no no to mess with right now. Again, Percy is completely unafraid of him and gets right in his face! To say I am worn out is an understatement, but they sure are making me laugh a bunch and keeping on my toes!

Last one we tried to keep in our bedroom where they were born (under our bed) by putting up a tall piece of ply. But it wasn’t long before they managed Everest style climbing.
Our beloved Jack Russell Penny in Wales, a gentler dog you couldn’t imagine, hid each kitty in one litter from a barn cat who found her way to us in various parts of our house whilst we were supping at the lovely, rustic, cozy wine bar in the town near our village. We came home to the mother just sitting there, Penny with the guiltiest look…and no kittens, not a single one. Horrified, we started frantic searching and eventually found them all, including two behind a wall radiator. Relieved it was not on winter as they would have been on! Penny was jealous I think… she wouldn’t have harmed them. Simply “disappearing” them seemed to be enough 😂
I’m in love with Percy ( so love the name!!! 😍). But of course she’s the one you selected 😂 The only one? Or are you starting to get attached to others, as I most certainly would be doing. The danger comes if you start naming them, but you know that I reckon. I’m so glad for updates, girl.
I’ve lost track as to how old they are 🤔 I hope you can find good homes for the rest. It won’t hurt that they are sympatico with Beau…and he with them… for any potential adopters who might have a dog. I bet you’re tired. A house full of toddlers would exhaust anyone!! Betsy, I purposely have not named any others for that very reason. They will be 5 weeks old tomorrow.
I’ve found homes for two already, (a friend at church who lost her cats a few years ago). I will be checking on my Grandson to see if he wants one for company for his little cat, Coco (a stray that showed up on his porch years ago as a very tiny kitten). She stayed small I think because she was quite young when he took her in and was probably malnourished.
I’ve always been fond of Jack Russells, but never had the chance to own one. Friends had them and they were wonderful dogs.

I was not familiar with the Jack Russell breed when I transplanted myself across the pond. They are supposed to be high energy dogs, but I guess we got the one and only who wasn’t. She was so affectionate, and no doubt considered herself an honorary cat seeing as we had so many farm ones and passersby who knew a good place when they found one 😂. Israel Update:
I skipped a day. I caught up some sleep. You know when you crush without a plan and wake up at 6:00AM and not sure if it’s AM or PM? LOL
I have a lot to post. I hope it won’t upset the Admin that I “overload”. Just because it’s a war and all eyes are in that direction I took the liberty to give a comprehensive long update and videos.
-Gradual reductions in safety restrictions. People can now go to work so long as there is an easy access to a safe space. Schools and large gatherings are still a “no”.
-We had some 30 missiles coming last day. No injuries. Mainly intercepted. There is a gradual decrease in the quantities of attacks. I will post a graph.
-The Supreme Court Leader of Iran in a defiant video. Threatening Israel with a great punishment, defying Trump’s suggestion of surrender and threatening the US with consequences if they join the attack. He said that a US entering the attacks will cause them an “irreversible damage”.
-IDF took out 5 attack helicopters in Iran.
-Iran managed to shoot down a Hermes 900 Israeli long distance UAV (drone).
-Massive attacks on Iran’s missile industry and missile storages.
-Israel attacks a large plant of manufacturing centrifuges in Teheran.
-Iran is saying that it arrested a network of 18 people who worked for Mossad, of Afghan citizenship, who had a drone facility or facilities. Note: I am skeptical about the number 18.
Mossad compartments operations and wouldn’t have 18 together. Maybe they got a couple.
-Erdogan of Turkey is calling Bibi “Hitler” and stands by Iran.
-A couple of Israeli cyber attacks by an Israeli hacker group that is related to the Israeli Defense Establishment, : One is the central bank that the Revolutionary guard is using. Published documents of how they bypass the sanctions and sponsor terrorism, etc…
Shut them off. No access to ATMs in large parts of Iran.
Second attack is on Iran’s Crypto Exchange Nobitex that is used by Iran to bypass sanctions and finance terror. This Crypto Exchange was circulating 1.8 Billion dollars and is now about a 100 million left in there. They have been robbed.
-Trump is on the fence. No one can tell if he will help Israel with the attack or not.
I suggest to leave speculations to others and just sit and watch. It will all be clear by mid next week or before. The Fordo site is still the problem.
-I see a lot of lies coming from Iran about their “success”. Like “we now control the skies in Israel”, “We killed the Head of the Israeli Air Force”, “We shot down three F35 jet fighters and captured pilots”, Etc… I told you before that I consider the Supreme Leader deluded.
His latest talk yesterday is reflecting a much better situation than his real situation.
I suspect that he is also getting false information from his own Command. Overall, his operating with lies may be dangerous for us but ignorant stupidity is not an asset.
-Speaker of the IDF in Persian is posting that he “understands that many are feeling troubled and he refers them to a Mossad recruitment link. LOL
-So now they shut off almost all the Internet in Iran. Elon Musk, can we get Starlink please?!
-Earlier in the battle the Head of the IAF (Air Force) told his people that they need to “turn Iran into a front and send three waves a day, not one a week”. And so it is.
-I am not reporting you on every wave of attack and what it is exactly. I just select a few, but there were so far attacks on more than 1,100 targets in Iran. Every day their military industry is diminishing and the nuclear program and various Headquarters and bases and regime symbols. Time is not good for them but Israel must not get into a months long war that will disrupt our daily life and economy. They are over 90 million people and we are only 10 million. They are 75 times larger than Israel per Square Mile. They have a history of fighting with Iraq for 8 years and losing almost a million people. They can take a lot and we can’t. But so far time is good for us. We could potentially wipe out their entire military and Navy and economy if we decide to. They have a lot to lose. We are not Iraq and is they noticed.
-A major Commander in the terror organization that kidnapped and murdered the Bibas family was killed in Gaza.
-Putin: “There are over 200 Russian nuclear experts in Iran to build two additional units in the nuclear power plant. I got a promise from Israel not to hurt them.”
Note: He is talking about the plant in Busher. It’s a valid civilian plant and the Russians provide the Uranium rods. It is not an enrichment facility.
“The underground in the nuclear sites were not damaged”.
“We can reach a formula that will permit Iran civilian nuclear plants and will also calm Israel’s worries.”
Note: Trump needs to hurry up and help or if not then Israel needs to hurry up, before we get Russians, Chinese, North Korean alliance formed to stop it. I am already hearing some reports but so far it was mainly Iranian propaganda to scare. I didn’t go over it but this is an opportunity to weaken the China / Russia / Iran / North Korea Axis of Evil. There is much more to it than just Israel and Iran. A lot of the oil to China comes from Iran too.
-Defense Minister: “We just destroyed the Headquarters of the Interior Ministry. The main oppression arm of the Iranian Dictator. As we promised, we will continue to to hit the Regime Symbols and hit the Ayatollahs regime at every place.”
-In the bloodiest day that we had with some 12 killed. A whole Ukrainian family with three children were killed, who came with a child to get Cancer treatment. In the North at the same day a Christian Arab family was killed, five people.
-A main police Headquarters attacked around Teheran. A main arm of the oppression in case of an uprising.
-I have not even reported but so far a thousand drones were sent toward Israel, less than 200 made it to Israel, all intercepted. Not even one made it to a target. An achievement!
-So far about 400 ballistic missiles were fired at Israel. Over 20 made it to residential areas and caused damage or injuries. 5% of the missiles were effective in other words.
-The IDF admits, “the numbers of casualties is lower than anticipated, but don’t loosen up yet. The Homefront is strong and has patience but we need to pull a bit longer till we get the threat handled.”
-Three large airplanes of the Iranian government fled to Oman. We don’t know who are in them?
Trump: I spoke with Putin yesterday and he told me he was willing to mediate between Iran and Israel. I told him: “You will deal with Ukraine.”
Trump: “Next week something big will happen maybe even before”.
WSJ paper: Trump approved the attack plans but gives it a bit time in case they want a peaceful dismantle of the centrifuges. :
-Headquarters of the Revolutionary Guard in Ardastan Iran was attacked. Four of the main leaders of high ranks were killed.

She a couple of weeks ago posted on X a comment that “Political Elites and warmongers are fomenting fear and tensions between nuclear powers placing the world on the brink of nuclear annihilation.” Later on he was asked about her testifying that “while Iran enriched to a high level, there is no indication that they intend to develop nuclear weapon”.
He said: “I don’t care what she said. I think they were very close to having a weapon”.
Her time is limited on her post probably. Some agencies for sure knew what they are up to.
-A report that we are running low in defensive interceptors. Arrow 3 interceptors are Israeli but it was a collaboration with the US and the manufacturing is in the US. I also see a report of some 4-5 large supply airplanes that did arrive recently from the US. I don’t know if the report is true. Not verified.

As to Tulsi, I see that I hit a nerve. She may be great in dismantling bad actors. I don’t challenge it and don’t know much. In 1973, The Yom Kippur war, we were surprised in a holly day from two directions. Egypt and Syria. We were very close to lose the war. We were ran out of weapons and munitions and we were decimated, a few hero’s were preventing the hundreds or thousands of tanks from flooding our cities and causing a Holocaust. Kissinger who was Sec of State, refused to help.
I was a child, my father was at the front lines with Syria. Quite a few of my neighbors were getting killed as I saw the black on white funerals notes. A friend of my family a pilot fell captive in Syria who were known to be the cruelest. And then came the call that Golda did with Nixon. Some of you watched it years ago when I posted it. But here it is again. It’s only a few minutes. But everyone thinks that God saved Trump to save America. I am not denying it but think about it again after watching this short video. Thank You.

I remember the 73 war. I was a Junior in high school.
My father in law (Carl) was an engineer working at Hughes Tool Company, the manufacturer of many of the air to surface and air to air missiles that were shipped to Israel by Nixon. He was in charge of quality control and told me that the reliability of the missiles was not what it is today. Soon after Nixon decision to help he was suddenly shipped off to where they were manufactured and told to do what ever was necessary to improve accuracy. While there he found out that Israel was strained to man the fighter/ bomber planes and many US fighter pilots were sent over to man the planes over Israel. Nixon also sent over a large number of new fighter planes to assist in downing Egyptian, Syrian, and Jordan planes.
He said he worked day an night, often in direct contact with Israel and American pilots to improve the missile’s accuracy and operation. A lot of the work was correcting and rewriting the software controlling the sparrow air to air missile. You could tell by the cadence in his voice that he was really proud of what he did.
He held a top secret clearance and what he told me about participation of US pilots in fighting this war was the first time I understood what he did at Hughes.

I linked the ‘desert giants’ on the refueling boom to the 120th Squadron of the Israeli Air Force. Looked like a KC135-type refueling boom to me. Refueling a F35 first, then second seems odd to me, F16 but with strange fuselage contours, third a F15 variant.

Thank you Pat. While it is no longer free to roam at least he is no longer stuck in a holding pen and now has a new owner who loves him dearly. And, yes, he is a very pretty horse with his silver/gray mane. I enjoyed watching Isidro work with him, it reminded me of my time working with my horse Joey, who was wild until he was 18 months old.
For the first 4-5 months I owned him I worked just to get him to trust and like me. I still remember the first time he allowed me to touch him without flinching or trying to move away. He was the horse of a lifetime and he became the best horse I had ever ridden. Ah, to be young again.

Did my first shut down on my generator. Left it off for 1 1/2 hours and checked the oil, then started her up again. No problem.
I’m taking the advise of doing this about three times. Run for 8 hours, shut it down, let it cool off for an hour or more, then start her back up.
Since there are a lot of people around here without power it will probably be awhile before our utility power is restored so there is a good chance I’ll get the unit broke in right during this outage.
Oil was so clean that I had to check it twice to see that it was full.
Hope the power comes back on soon.
It’s surprising how clean modern small engines run. Even my 40 year old Hondas barely tint the oil. Nothing like the old days.
Back during the ’96 blackout on the west coast I ran the genset for nearly 3 days so had to refuel it on the go. It was a diesel genset designed for that so no problem. Served double duty as a welder on the service truck and generator for the house.
One thing I’ll mention to folks….. if running a generator at night, be aware that having a lit up house in a dark region, whether like myself in the country, or in town, can make one a target. In my opinion, keep a low profile. When living in town I had a generator room off the garage with sound/fire resistant walls, a vent/inlet fan and external vertical muffler to quiet the genset.
I moved from combustion engines to battery power for outages since moving to the forest. Quiet, low profile. Newer appliances are more efficient so loads are lower. I’ve been a ‘prepper’ since the late 70’s and learned some stuff along the way, the main thing being prepping can be expensive and power outages relatively rare where I’ve lived.
If running a small gas generator, try to fuel it with non-ethanol gas and use a stabilizer in the fuel or, preferably, run it out of fuel when storing it after use.
I came here to post about the Starship explosion last night and saw the generator post, heh.
Having a whole house generator is a real piece of mind bit of technology, Although, I have to admit there are times during an outage that I have a minor twinge of guilt seeing my neighbors in darkness and me watching television in the comfort of my air conditioning. But, I soon get over that
So many without, they haven’t even started working on the tree that fell and took out the power lines. Doubt we’ll have power any earlier than late this afternoon, if then.
Today the plan is to get my chain saw running and put a new blade on it so it’s ready. But I won’t be cutting on the tree until my side yard dries out some since it’s kinda soggy over there right now. So we’ll pick up the lose stuff down in the yard and I’m sure that will more than fill up my 6′ diameter fire ring. Have to wait for the wind to settle down to burn it off.
I won’t use that pine wood in my fireplace insert so when I get around to cutting up that big section of fallen tree, I’ll burn a bunch and the put the rest in my wood pile for that fire pit.
BTW Erick is now a CAT IV but not far from landfall.

I was designing and building model rocket designs with college students in the rocketry club when the Apollo 1 incident occurred. My main focus was rocket glide with fold out wings not dissimilar from what would become commonplace on the F14, and boost glide with the then new to me Rogallo designs in Mylar.
I went on to an electrical engineering education and opening my own machine shop so never worked in the actual aerospace industry itself.
Later in life, about a decade ago, we were helping a neighbor, after a mudslide, to re-attach his sewer line that had been swept down the hill and found out he had been an engineer at the Rocketdyne facility in SoCal back during the F1 program for Apollo and he had a treasure trove of historical documents and pictures from his time there. Sadly, he’d go on to die during the Covid op. That kinda got me interested in rocketry again so I keep up with the various space programs going on.

A side by side can be great for getting around. Many farmers where I worked went from pickups to those a couple decades ago. If ‘utility’ is more at the forefront than getting around, a small 4wd tractor is often more cost efficient and versatile and still can be used to ‘get around’. \
Even though I rarely use it anymore, I still have an old L2250 Kubota that in its prior life did everything from the usual tractor work to digging my swimming pool to drilling post holes to towing a spray rig around for weed control. Very low maintenance and reliable for the past 35 years on a rural property.
It all depends what ‘utility’ is. Most of my neighbors here have side by sides geared more to the dunes than farm/property utility but some use them for both. Those with money also have compact track layers and full size tractors too. Not me. I downsized out of that stuff when leaving California.

I can NOT do this anymore, I can NOT continue reading the mis-information and BS I am seeing on a daily basis, the cognitive disassociation is slowly tearing my mind apart. There are many intelligent and knowledgeable people here and I respect most opinions even the ones I don’t agree with but I am a man of action not words. I am unable to live my BEST life because I can NOT just shut everything out in order to pretend that Gods will be done when men are responsible for what is happening and only men can fix what is broken.
I am a MAN who was trained to be a DOG that thinks like a HAMMER and all I see is nails. My patience is worn very thin and I have too much anger and hate in my hart for those who brought my country to this point and to those who have done nothing to try and reverse the course we are on.
One man no matter how great or powerful can fix this, only We the People can fix it…and it won’t be through voting or talking about it.
I am stepping away from all of this, no more news (propaganda), no more hopium, no more empty promises.
I have lost everyone that I loved or cared about in the last 10 years, either through death or they have turned away from me because of my beliefs or actions. The only thing I have left is the love from Trouble (my dog) and when she leaves me I don’t really know how I will continue on.

-state park trail?
-bird watching? bird books? bird bath?
-feeders outside, or window (suction cup) feeders
-peanut butter slathered on a nearby tree, viewed from your window (easy peasy) attracts many birds
-I go to the local humane society website and look at dogs available for adoption (you never know!)
-volunteer at (________)
If you are interested in another dog, at any time, I have found that the 2nd dog (already established) is a great comfort at a time when another has to go to dog heaven. And, almost as important, is that the 2nd dog learns from the 1st dog, so it’s good to have them together for a while.

She is all I have that keeps me grounded. After she goes, I don’t think I will be able to take another into my heart knowing that it will only lead to pain later. I work at a no kill shelter here in Mexico taking care of over 200 dogs, the pay is minimal and physical (especially now with the heat and humidity) but rewarding in ways that money doesn’t pay. Not to minimize (not at all), we all have downs.

Sundance’s two foot rule has helped me at times. Although, I didn’t know it until AFTER the down passes.
Frustration, sadness/loss, fear or boredom is hell!

The feeling of floating on water (on my back) is a natural mental harbor for me. Really.
That, and slow, deep breathing with eyes closed. Long nasal inhale, hold 5 to 8 seconds, long slow mouth exhale; 3 times (at least).

“Confidence in God. (1-5) An exhortation to behold it.” (6-11)
(6-11) “Come and see the effects of desolating judgments, and stand in awe of God. This shows the perfect security of the church, and is an assurance of lasting peace. Let us pray for the speedy approach of these glorious days, and in silent submission let us worship and trust in our almighty Sovereign. Let all believers triumph in this, that the Lord of hosts, the God of Jacob, has been, is, and will be with us; and will be our Refuge. Mark this, take the comfort, and say, If God be for us, who can be against us? With this, through life and in death, let us answer every fear.”

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.
Thank you Father God, my Lord Jesus and the Holy Spirit, that I am more than a conqueror in my Lord Jesus. I pray all of this in the mighty name of my Lord God and Savior Jesus Christ, Amen.

Only God knows the pretense of it

So we go to the thus and therefore
We must let go of the concern
