Good morning Betsy Love, love the Cursday images this morning.
Here is an update on “Cleo”. She brought her kittens out on Monday morning. I gathered them up and put them in a carrier and left it open for Cleo. Had to coax her in with food. They are settled in my laundry room. The kittens are in a big laundry basket to keep them confined for a bit Their eyes are open. After half a day, Cleo has decided I am worthy of her and the babes. She now loves petting and rubs my hand and purrs finally! I am picking up and taming the kittens daily, several times a day.
I have decided to keep the “runt”. She (I think), is feisty and scrappy and makes sure she gets a teat. I will keep Cleo as well. I will find homes for the other six.
Whew, I am so relieved and can now rest easy. Have a blessed and wonderful day. Also would like some suggestions for names for the “runt” from my treeper friends.

I am the last one to ask for name suggestions, the one thing we struggled to do with all of ours. Of course depends on if your little runt is a female or male. I love Clerk’s name (hat tip Pinocchio 😉) I hope you’ve got a pet adoption shelter as good as ours is here. They make sure all their adopters are neutered and vaxxed. They screen the adopters as well. Unless you’ve got people already in mind….you’ve got a while to go anyway before they’re ready. Don’t get too attached to the others.

Good afternoon Betsy. Lots of praying to be able to get them into a safer environment. I think its a female because it is kind of a calico.
There is a shelter only 6 minutes from my house that will only adopt out if they get them neutered or spayed. They also chip each one so if the adoptee does not take care of them and they get them back as a stray, they will know exactly who adopted them. They will give them their first vaccinations. I plan to take them all to my vet to make sure they are healthy before I adopt them out. I will not adopt them out to anyone who will not fix them. If worse comes to worse, I’ll go to an inexpensive vet clinic across the river in Oklahoma and get them all fixed myself. Maybe I can get a volume discount!
My old country vet would have done it for me very inexpensively as he loved cats.

I had a very dear friend in Wales who took yearly sabbaticals to Assisi until Covid stopped those dead. He experienced a terrible trauma when he was a Catholic schoolboy which affected him all his life, and these stays in Assisi were very helpful for him. I have a sketch he drew of St Francis on his horse, like the statue. You will know it. “Lord, what would you have me do” says the inscription…

I always thought Faulkner was a quintessential representative of southern culture. Reading him always reminds me of my father (born in ’08) and his era. Faulkner would have been quite comfortable sitting around my dad’s campfire. Sitting quietly—I prefer late evenings with some good bourbon—allows me to connect with my ‘inner-redneck’. I tried to explain my Faulkner tradition to my 30-something GP. She didn’t get it at all. That’s understandable. Faulkner’s life experience (along with my dad’s generation) spanned the late 19th to mid 20th centuries; ancient history to my youngish GP.

I’ve become attuned to ‘situational awarness’ so I as I was leaving I asked the bank guard to accompany me into the parking lot . . . It’s still more talk than action but there is a developing force there.

Also they are worried that those who serve become less religious by the end of their service. Most of Israel want them to join and because they are the “King makers” they can get away with it. I estimate that there will be some compromise to get more of them but still a very small number compares to their total number. I estimate so because if the left will rise in the next elections (it’s hard to tell, many blame Bibi for the war) then they will be forced to join or else. The left is typically less sympathetic for religion.
-The IDF was ordered to block the boat/yacht with Greta Thunberg, etc…. The Defense Minister will decide if to direct them to an Israeli port to be arrested of just deny them access to shore. I hope the second option. If we arrest them there will be a media show, that is what they want.
-A judge in Colorado blocked the deportation of the wife and five children of the Egyptian terrorist who burned people and was in the US with an expired visa.

COMMENTARY FOR ROMANS 1
“The scope or design of the apostle in writing to the Romans appears to have been, to answer the unbelieving, and to teach the believing Jew; to confirm the Christian and to convert the idolatrous Gentile; and to show the Gentile convert as equal with the Jewish, in respect of his religious condition, and his rank in the Divine favour. These several designs are brought into on view, by opposing or arguing with the infidel or unbelieving Jew, in favour of the Christian or believing Gentile. The way of a sinner’s acceptance with God, or justification in his sight, merely by grace, through faith in the righteousness of Christ, without distinction of nations, is plainly stated. This doctrine is cleared from the objections raised by Judaizing Christians, who were for making terms of acceptance with God by a mixture of the law and the gospel, and for shutting out the Gentiles from any share in the blessings of salvation brought in by the Messiah. In the conclusion, holiness is further enforced by practical exhortations.The apostle’s commission. (1-7) Prays for the saints at Rome, and expresses his desire to see them. (8-15) The gospel way of justification by faith, for Jews and Gentiles.” (16,17)

WE ARE FIGHTING A SPIRITUAL WAR OF GOOD VERSUS EVIL
PRAYING ON THE ARMOR OF GOD
Father God, I now follow your command to put on the full armor of God, because my battle is not against flesh and blood but against rulers, authorities, the powers of this dark world and against spiritual forces of evil in the unseen world.
I first pray on the Belt of Truth that it may be buckled around my waist, may I be centered and encircled by your truth dear Lord. Hem me inside all that is true and right, and may I be protected and held up by the truth of your living word, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Breastplate of righteousness, please protect my vital organs and my inner man, cover my integrity, my spirit, and my soul. Guard my heart for it is the wellspring of life, please strengthen and guard the most vulnerable places in my life with that which is right, good, and noble that I might not receive a fatal blow from the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Gospel Shoes of Peace. I choose to stand in the shoes of your good news, and on the firm foundation of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the solid eternal rock. All other ground is sinking sand, I pray that I will not slip or fall, but that my feet would be firmly fitted on your lordship, my Lord Jesus. I choose to stand on you, so that the peace of God, which transcends all understanding will guard my heart and mind in Christ Jesus, the eternal Rock of Ages. I receive your holy peace now my Lord, from the sole of my feet to the crown of my head, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray the Shield of Faith into my hand now. As I take up the shield of faith, I ask that you might extinguish every dart and arrow that is launched from the enemy to take me down spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, and every attempt of the enemy to destroy my joy. I ask that my faith in you would make it flame out. Extinguish every flaming arrow that would come against me, my life, my family, my home, or my ministry. May my faith always be out in front of me like a shield. Give me the courage to “faith my fears” by choosing to walk by faith and not by sight, in my Lord Jesus name.
I pray on the Helmet of Salvation, that you might protect my mind from the thoughts that can lead me astray. I choose to take every thought captive, and arrest all intentioned ideas and motives that would harm others, or distract me from your holy will for me. I submit every captured thought to the Lordship of my Lord Jesus Christ, and ask that you would imprison those thoughts that are not of you my Lord. Transform my mind and renew my thinking that I may think God thoughts, and have a sober mind that is focused on your glory. Please protect me from being double minded that I may allow my mind, I reject to live an earthly life, because I choose to live a holy one, governed by you My Lord Jesus, the prince of peace, please have my mind to be saturated with the holy mind of Christ, in my Lord Jesus name.
Finally, I take up the Sword of the Spirit which is the holy word of God, I pray this powerful offensive weapon into my hand, and ask that your holy word would be fitting for every encounter I face. As the enemy gets close to me, please give me the insight, wisdom, and skill to wield the word of God to drive away the enemy, in my Lord Jesus name.
May the enemy and his team flee from me, upon hearing the word of God spoken by the power and direction of the Holy Spirit. Give me the sword of the spirit to cut through the wiles of the devil, so that I may discern the schemes of the enemy when he is near.
With all kinds of prayers, supplication, and intercession I pray to you my Lord God as the one who fights my battles. Now that I’m in your holy powerful armor, I walk away covered and ready to face my day as you go before me, and please protect me in the midst of the spiritual warfare in this unseen world, in my Lord Jesus name.
Thank you my Lord, for the spiritual weapons of armor and prayer that you have given me. It is written no weapon formed against me shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that accuses me.

Astronomical summer begins when with the summer solstice which this year occurs on June 20th.
rah: I skied in snow in Tuckerman’s Rivine on Mt. Washington on June 1, 1983. During the summer, the temp on the summit averages around 54 degrees during the day. Mt. Washington weather can be deadly, all year round.
I know, I trained in the Green and White mountains a lot during the 5 1/2 years (1980-86) on mountain teams while stationed at Ft. Devens, MA. The weather can always change faster in the mountains but the jet stream dips down low enough to hit summit of Mt. Washington at times, and when it does, the change pretty much instant.
I and a couple guys on my team walked up to the summit one fine June day in T shirts and shorts and then had to run down the road because of a 40 deg. drop in temp,snow, and wind.

Evening Prayer For Forgiveness
Heavenly Father, thank You for bringing me through this day and Lord, forgive me for the times when I have wandered outside Your best will for me, instead of trusting You implicitly.
Thank You, that You are such a gracious Shepherd to me and that You come and rescue me even when I lose my way and stray from the path that You have laid out for me.
As I look back over today, I know Lord that there were things that I should have said and done differently, and times when I reacted in a manner that was not honouring Your holy name. Forgive me I pray, but thank You, Father, that You always faithfully prepared to gently bring me back to Yourself.
Give me a good night’s sleep I pray, knowing that there is no condemnation because I am in Christ, and may I wake up in the morning refreshed and ready to do Your will. In Jesus’ name I pray,
